Morning all - It must be a busy day for at least two of you; LG packing and YG tying up loose ends before the week off. Well done YG for completing the mammouth task. You can remind them of that when you want an extra day off ;-)
Are you going to have a mini-meet when LG goes off on her travels? If you're in the area(s) it seems a shame not to.
Where's Maz got to? Working? It's difficult to keep track of her shifts and short breaks away.

Oh dear. Is there a sub-station near the payground, or do you think some oiks had been playing around making 'bombs'? Glad to hear that your food didn't spoil.
There must be something wrong with your shower heater. It keeps going wrong. :-0
You and Frog must get out and about more than the rest of us. Today's highlight if OH can drag himself away from the Archery? Shopping!

Evening all, Maz we are visiting Beamish in the second week of our holiday. We have not been for a good while so I expect a bit more has been added.
Not in the best of humours today as the washing machine has shuffled off the earthly coil. :-| :-| :-| :-P.
Off to do a bit more now but will get back on later I expect. If not I will be online tomorrow as the faithful lappy is travelling with us :-D

A broken down washing machine must be soo frustrating when you probably haven't got time to buy and install a new one just now.
Maz will have to recommend her favourite cream cake and tea shop in Beamish if she can't meet you herself ;-)
Just been having another huff'n'puff about that wretched sporting event. The local Beeb news at 1830 started late as probably all were. In the total of 18 minutes of the programme, 5 were taken up promoting competitors from our region. Grr.

Evening all.
Oooh, not good about the washer, LG!! You will have to wait until you get back, with suitcases full of dirty laundry! You can call here on your way home and do it all if you like!! :-D
More excitement where you live, Maz!! There is never a dull moment there! :-D My friend visited tonight, with her daughter and eight week old baby. He was very restless, cried and punched me on the nose with his fist!! Not bad for his age!! :-D
Shed day tomorrow!! Son is coming to fit some shelves for me so I had better let the moths out of the purse!! :-D :-D
Time for me to retire under the duvet once I have let the cat out for his constitutional!
Have a lovely holiday, LG and don't get into too much mischief! :-D

Good morning - fell asleep in the armchair last night, missing the last 30 minutes of one programme I wanted to watch, and the first 30 mins of another. :-( At least they were both recorded (in case OH wanted to be be a couch athlete) and I've now caught up
Hope your travels are stress free LG, and the weather is kind to you. You'll have to keep us posted on your royal progress :-D
You've made me feel guilty YG - a couple of shrubs need trimming, and the shed really needs a tidy up. It's trying to fit it in between the showers :-0

A very good morning to you all!
Hello
Hope you are okay.
At last I can get on the GR site.
Well done YG on your project.
LaGooner, hope you can get new washing machine sorted out. Have a look around for bargains.
As the shops seem empty, there are plenty of sales on!
DET, I am still catching up on Olympics. I am two days behind everyone else. All this recording on the TV!
And hello to Maz.
Take gentle care all and travel safely.
Very best wishes Elizabeth, EOS xx

Evening everyone.
Had a text from LG, waving to me as she passed by my hometown on the A1! Of course, I waved back. I can't insult Her Maj!! She's proper oop norf now!!! Wonder if she can speak the lingo!! :-D :-D
Son turned up on time and I felt like a queen riding with him to the diy store in his lovely Lex** (company car, I might add!!) We got the shelf brackets and some soil conditioner and compost! I thought the soil conditioner would be better than manure, but it did pong a bit when we emptied it on the border!! Shelves all done, bless him!! He even re-organised everything in the shed for me, and then fitted a new cover on the gearstick in the car. It has only been in the boot for two years waiting to be done. I was getting a bit frustrated because it cost me £40 from the main agents (my fault entirely, as I burnt a hole in the original) :-D :-D
I've been invited down for the evening tomorrow before they go away on holiday, so it will be a nice evening.
I have been messing about reinstalling new antivirus software on the lappy tonight. I was having problems, and it was due to expire shortly anyway. My computer techie usually sorts it for me, but I have paid to download it direct from the providers and it is working well.
I am off for an early night, as I am still very tired after finishing for the hols and had a bad night last night, so hopefully I will be refreshed tomorrow morning.

Good morning all. The forecast for today is rain. So the sun is shining brightly, although it is a tad chilly. OH and I are off to the Adelaide Hills to visit our youngest and his family. It is one of the grandbabies 8th birthday so we go bearing gifts. Ah ha I spoke too soon. The heavens have just opened up and it is raining. OH will not be pleased, he washed the car yesterday and was moaning about getting it dirty.
You lot have improved your medal tally in the Olympics. Well done. Much is being made of our second placings. Media is talking about "an inquiry" as to why we aren't coming first. Duh!!! Don't worry the average Australian is quite happy with being second best in the whole wide world.
I have washing to fold up and put away. Yes I was smart and did it yesterday so it was dry before the rain this morning. Must away catch you all later.

Morning all - hope you enjoyed your day with the younger generation AS. You’ll be exchanging laundry tips with the queen of the washing machine (Maz) soon! Don’t know why the aussie media are talking about an enquiry – the atheletes were either up against someone faster/stronger or were having an ‘off’ day.
Team GB are doing rather well considering the numbers of the population pool they have to draw on, but a number of them actually train in the US. I always thought they had to be amateurs rather than salaried people. This is obviously not the case with the footballers who are professionals. I had a hissy fit the other day and insisted OH turned the sport off during the evening. I mean, Boxing? He Never watches that!
Glad to hear that her Maj made her way safely up the A1 – pity she didn’t have time to drop by and visit. And well done for sorting out the shed. Hope the d-i-l doesn’t complain about the lingering pong in their car. Wonder what she will feed you today? All sorts of left overs to clear the fridge???
Those power cuts must be a nuisance after the explosion Maz had the other day.

Morning all.
Boxing!! Ugh! No likey!! In fact, none of the sports do much for me!! Give me a fireman any day!!
I don't think dil will be feeding me tonight, DET!!! I am having dinner before I go!! There may be a sweet treat that I can allow myself, as my sugar levels are back to normal, although I have to see the nurse tomorrow afternoon. Don't somehow think they will take me off the register but I can hope.
Funnily enough, the soil conditioner didn't smell in the bag, so the car was ok!!!! But it sure smells on the border!! Hope last night's shower might have weakened it somewhat!! :-D :-D
I hope the car doesn't get too dirty en route, Aunty. Still, it will give your OH something to do when you get back if he has to wash it again!!
LG, did you really have to toss all those mouldy omelettes my way as you flew past!!! I had my windows cleaned on Friday! :-P

Well, it;s nearly twelve hours since I last posted and not a soul to be seen!!!
I have spent a lovely evening at son's, although I wondered whether I was going to get there in the thunder and lightning!! I don't like driving in it, so waited until it had passed over, eventually! :-D :-D
I might as well take advantage of Her Maj being away and grab the throne while the going is good. It looks as though I am in for a very comfortable, peaceful night's sleep :-D

Morning all - Hope you enjoyed your sleep on the throne YG. You looked so comfortable when I looked in last night, it seemed a shame to disturb you. Mind you, now that LG has managed to get her dongle to work, there will be no peace!
No – once you are on the diabetic (pre or otherwise) or BP list, there you stay. OH has an annual check up and an annual retina eye scan. If it developed into full blown type 2, or even type 1, the results would be disastrous if left untreated. Like you, when his was first picked up, he was having regular check ups and hospital appointments for Bloods etc. It was v inconvenient as he was working away from home during the week. The GP said to compare his body to a car which needs a regular service. His reply? My wife deals with that!
We pottered down to the Prom yesterday afternoon, found a couple of historical parts of the Thames side Fort open for visits by the local History/Preservation society for a v cheap £1 pp then sat watching families with children playing, and the boats. There was one vessel, a black 12 seater inflatable with no markings which we suspect might have been some sort of Olympic security/anti-terrorists river patrol. The 4 people in it were all in black (including life jackets) wearing v sophisticated survival suits. 2 of them jumped off into shallow water and went to get ‘supplies’ of ice cream from the café :-D
What’s up with your weather then Maz? Here it’s the norm of sunshine and showers
