Is tha still on North Yorkshire Moors then LG!! You have come to G**'s country now you know, and the sun shines on the righteous oop here!! We are in for a good week of weather here after the odd shower tomorrow!!

That sounds like an interesting afternoon that you had yesterday, DET and warm enough for ice cream too!!!

Maz, keep your wet weather up there please, if you don't mind. Enough is enough now!!

So how was the first day of your break from work YG? Sounds as if you may have picked a good week to take it in if the weather is supposed to be OK. If it stays dry for LG, it will make up for last year ;-)

Apart from Friday when we might actually get sun ALL day, most of the others are sunshine and showers. Makes it a bit difficult to decide when or where to go next time we get cabin fever.

You describe it to a tea YG. We love it up here we have visited many times and never tire of the place. We have not had hardly any rain at all while we have been out and about.

So you don't have an ulterior motive of grave hunting then? :-D

I have had two very lazy days, DET, trying to pull back some energy I'm feeling much brighter this evening.

I am now getting error messages Grrrrrrrrrr,

I have seen a very unusual church I fancy taking a look at though. It has no tower but it has a steeple on the lychgate, very strange.

Apologies if I don't get back as posting is having it's problems.

Evening LG. Missed you there, somehow! You're lucky that you are getting a signal at all where you are!!!

I'm quite envious!! I have had some lovely holidays in the area where you are now. Wish I could turn the clock back! :-D

Morning all, middle of winter and we have a forecast temperature of 22 degrees today, that is 22 degrees C. Of course it will rain for the rest of the week.

OH remarked that he really missed Spot. When I said well are you thinking about another dog, he just looked at me and never said a word. Oh no!! Just when I am fur free and can go to work without a fine coating of hair on my clothes.

Now the strategy is not to say anything. Under no circumstances will I utter those catalystic words, "no more dogs". That is the most certain way of ensuring we will have another dog. Mouth zipped and fingers crossed.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Aug 2012 00:41

22C? Flippin' 'eck! That's probably warmer than the shade temperatures in the UK at the moment!

Dog v hairless clothes. Mmm. A difficult decision as he is missing the companionship. If he took on an older dog, perhaps one whose owner was too frail to care for it, there wouldn't be so much work (or years) for him/you to cope with. Of course, you could always give up work ;-)

Him and me are going to have a falling out soon. One week of evening sport is just about tolerable, but now it's into week 2 :-|

Bite your tongue DET. Or I'll be over there on the catapult with a firery gleam in my eye. I ain't giving up work because he needs a dog. Anyway the collar is too big for me. Don't think it quite made it to 22 today, more like about 18. Oh well I can dream of warmer weather to come.

Hey we have our second gold medal. And the possibility of a third. Should lift us up to about 15th in the tally list. But then who's counting. I must however say congratulations to Andy Murray. He must be so pleased to have finally beaten Mr Federer. Well played.

Tee hee! Did you like the big wooden spoon? :-D

Well done Australia winning a golden gong. I, or rather OH, is impressed that countries who sent small teams have managed to collect some. A number are from the former USSR which might explain their training and selection regimes.

Never mind, DET, only till Sunday to go now!! I was subject to three hours of it when I was at son's on Sunday evening. That is more than my limit, although I must say that I am very impressed with all the Yorkies!! They are really doing well :-D :-D

Spent the morning at the hairdressers! A new one, just to add to the sheer hell of it!!
It was lovely to be treated nicely and three hours later I emerged as a new woman!! Even I don't recognise myself in the mirror!! Must admit I was a bit edgy, as I went to the local salon for convenience with parking and didn't quite know what to expect, but they have made a much better job than my own mobile hairdresser. I am restricted to Wednesdays with her now, as she has opened her own barber's shop and it doesn't always suit if I need my hair doing on a different day. I think I have supported her whims and fancies for long enough now! :-P

I am having problems with the eyes too. Really need to go for another check at the opticians, which will mean more cost I suppose. I now have to wait for a retina check at the hospital because of my diabetes. Oh joy!

Evening all, The ark is floating well tonight LOL.

We have spent the day at Redcar today and no rain at all. Came back to Pickering over the moors and it has been chucking it down. It's turning a lot a brighter now so fingers crossed for our Steam train ride to Whitby tomorrow.
