LG must have got so excited seeing her idol come back to life, she couldn't get connected :-D

YG, you're as bad as Aunty toiling past the age many people would want to give up. Never mind, there is a bank holiday weekend in 14 days.

Morning/G'day all, we were cream crackered after walking around the Beamish Mueum all day and I could not be asked to sit on lappy. We did watch the closong ceremony though and yes it was good to see Freddy on the screen. Bit dissapointed they did not play we are the Champions which I feel would have been appropriate to the occasion. Or even better still my signature tune :-D. Well off out and about in a few so best get ready , hope you all enjoy your day/evening. Catch you all later I hope :-D :-D :-D

Such a shame you couldn't meet up, but there is still time ;-)

Maz will have to let us into all the behind the scene gos A passes on to her. There was an overflow coach park in our neck of the woods. Goodnes knows what that was about. The nearest venue was Greenwich Park which in normal circumstances is about 30 mins drive away. They had 'green' Olympic no-stopping routes on one of the roads.....again no one knows what for, but at least it wasn't Olympic only. Being one lane in each direction, it would have effectively closed the road.

Didn't sleep too well last night- too humid. At some point OH took himself off to the settee where he currently resides. We probably had the bleeding cold draft/cooling breeze disagreement about an open window closest to the bed head. I know I opened it during the night, but it was closed when I got up. :-0

Evening all!!

Very bleary eyed and half dead tonight! Stayed up till 12.30, excitedly waiting for Take That, but there was only one song. Understandable because of Gary's bereavement. I thought he was very brave to perform anyway.

Had a really bad night, coughing (could give up the ciggies!!) and you are right, DET, it was very humid. I think I managed about 3hours max and could have thrown the alarm out of the window at 6am.

I am absolutely done in, so think a very early night is on the cards for tonight.

Went to the garden centre last week and paid for the goods with my cc, less a gift voucher that my friend had bought me. Checked the bank statement last night and the full amount had been taken. I called on my way home and got a refund!! Good job I decided to look at my statement otherwise I wouldn't have realised.

Evening all, well I have been watching Broomstick flying lessons today :-D :-D. Went to Alnwick castle where Harry Potter was filmed one word for it FANTASTIC :-D :-D. I definately recommend it for a visit especially for the Potter fans.

Been over to Lindisfarne too. What a truly lovely place it is bit worrying if the tide comes in over the causeway while you are still out there :-0

YG Report 13 Aug 2012 20:15

Sounds as though you have had a thoroughly invigorating day, LG. Hope you didn't drink Lindisfarne dry!!!

Did you buy a new broomstick and learn any tips!! :-D

Oh dear. Poor YG. You are in the wars. Fingers crossed you are sleeping well tonight and aren't too stiff in the morning. The humidity doesn't help 'our' cough does it? Been hacking all day. :-0

What fun Maz has with her 'gifts'! Why doesn't the fur kill it before bringing it too you?

Sounds as it you had a wonderful day LG. You'll be another one knackered in the morning.

Hope you have under-cover things planned for today LG - the forcaste doesn't look too good :-0

We need to sort out things for our own holiday eg suitcases. The last time we flew 2 of the suitcases were damaged but we need to go in the loft and sort out which ones. They are fine for UK holidays were they can be slung in the back of the car, but not so good to be chucked around by baggage handlers. :-0

Evening all.

Oh, I didn't know you were up this way LG, are you moving around every day? I haven't looked back on the thread so don't know if you're in a caravan or just driving around and staying in B&Bs. Do you know where you're going each day?

It's been red hot today, I've been out with my friend most of the day.

Are you trying to get more time off work YG? Throwing yourself on the floor isn't a good way to get extra holidays.

My son starts his holidays at the weekend, I hope we get some good weather so we can get him out.

LG i am not touching that mole stew again if you have been to Alnwick especially if you have been in that poisons garden
Did you get the broomstick serviced too ? I love Lindisfarne not been for a couple of years though
DET the fur likes showing the wildlife off now lol I have been out and about today
A has used the washer today folded and hung up stuff as he has swapped it all over .lol
He said the organisation was naff down there they forgot to allow for the movement of the drivers swapping shifts .but they found a pub who although he had stood his staff down gave them discount on evening meals and allowed ordering and flexibility with times .
he has a lot of freebies and mementos but fending for himself has helped greatly

YG Report 14 Aug 2012 20:07

Evening all!!

Lol, Pauline, I can find easier ways to get extra time off work!! They actually wanted me to leave at 3pm today as I wasn't at all well, but it was 4.30 by the time I got away. My line manager finishes at the end of the week for 2 weeks holiday, so she wants to make sure I am 100% fit from next Monday!!

DET, I bought a new case when I went on the cruise and everything was fine, but I lent it to my friend's partner when they went to Cuba and the handle was ripped out of it's socket when it came off the airline. They did have four flights over the 2 week period, but even so, that shouldn't have happened. The store that I bought it from replaced it free of charge and the new one now has a guarantee from the date of replacement. We had cases broken into at J'burg airport and goods stolen, even though they were locked. Unfortunately now, you have to have special locks that airport security can open without your keys! Pretty pointless locking them in the first place!

The posterior is feeling much better today, although a little stiff when I have been sitting for a while! DO NOT LAUGH!! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
