Morning all – glad to hear that your posterior isn’t tooooo bad YG. You’ll have to learn how to down tools and walk out when your time is up ;-)

Pauline – I think LG is sleeping in a proper bed under a proper roof somewhere. Somehow, I can’t imagine her being able to get up from a camp-bed even if she managed to get down in the first place. From her postings, she is moving to a different location every few days.
Hope you can find interesting things to do/places to go when B has his holiday next week. If it’s dry it would help.

A seems to have had an interesting time away. Strange how some things make them grow up faster than others. Since there haven’t been any reports of the Athletes being late, there must have been enough time to get them where-ever. Silly organisers forgetting about shift changes. It sounds as bad as some Carers only being given 5 mins to get from one client to another

The way your suitcase was damaged sounds bad YG. We only buy cheap ones so don’t expect a great deal from them….and don’t pack anything valuable in them to be stolen. It sounds as if the Cuban baggage handlers were as bad as those in the US, but the internal flight the damaged occurred on was similar to a bus with a very quick (20mins) turn-a-round). They probably chucked the bags on because of the schedule. OH prefers hard shells of which one has cracked, and the other is dented by one of the feet. We’ve got about 4 weeks to find replacements…there may be better quality ones in the sales!

Afternoon all.

Have taken a sick day as I am full of cold and my boss wants me fit and well while she is on leave for the next two weeks.

i don't know where I picked this up but it came on pretty quickly, so I hope it goes!! i am quite willing to share with anyone if they are interested!! :-D :-D

Evening all. We are staying at a travelodge but heading off out every day on our travels. Yesterday Scotland today Hadrians wall are. Just started to pour down with rain about 4 so we are now back in room chillin out :-D.

I am not that far from you Pauline so watch out for me flying over on the broomstick. I am really good at it now since I took those lessons ;-).

Glad your sit upon is feeling better YG. :-D.

Missing my fur like mad Maz, nasty habits and all :-(.

Hi DET, We most certainly don't camp now but we have done many years of it while the kids were growing up. Poor old backs and knees won't stand the strain :-|

YG

YG Report 15 Aug 2012 18:58

I hope your OH remembered to take his kilt and sporran with him, LG!!!

Pauline, watch out because LG does not have a very good aim on that broomstick!! :-D :-D

LaGooner Report 15 Aug 2012 19:00

Hi YG. I am expert on the Broomstick after my very intensive lessons :-P :-D.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 15 Aug 2012 20:19

Hadrians Wall? That sounds interesting! Were you not able to persuade OH to divert via Pauline's? Such a shame! I think Travel Lodges are great, but OH doesn't like them because of the Little Chef option. He much prefers Premier Inn and I must admit the pillows and mattresses are better.

Sorry you're feeling rough YG, but you did say you didn't want to go back to work :-P

Not a lot done today, apart from food shopping followed by a trip to the shopping centre for a coffee and mooch.

PC is on a 2 day refresher restraining course. She said they were told that many Care Homes for the Elderly are having to send their staff now. Apparently, there are an increasing number of EMI men being admitted who have been trained in martial arts or in unarmed combat in the Forces - SAS, SBS etc. They've been known to put people in a neck lock before thankfully forgetting what they were supposed to do next. Frightening.

morning all sleepover today just making the traditional flapjack batch for camp as A is going again tomorrow
Our support times are always a struggle between service users ,GP appointments are the difficult if there is no-one office based to go with them .ITs amazing how tell they can tell the time lol too when we are late

Tadpole has got his step exam 3 A *S and an A so he is off to Warwick uni

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 16 Aug 2012 10:02

Wow! That is brilliant!!! Warwick is one of the 25 Russell Group Unis, along with Oxford, Cambridge etc. Please pass on our Congratulations!

What course is he going to study?

Sounds as if your organisation needs a 'floater' to cope with GP appointments etc ;-) PC's ward drags in the OT's for cover if one of the ward staff has to take someone for a medical appointment. There must be sensible admin people knocking around who could do the same......or the Managers! Hope it isn't too muggy tonight and that your clients can sleep, meaning you can.

Hope A enjoys his break - is he going on another sailing course?

Today I'm hoping to persuade OH to do a dump run before the bags of grass clippings get too pongy. :-0

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 16 Aug 2012 10:45

thank you DET we do have floaters unless its holiday time some service users cancell and can be flexible so we survive
Tadpole is going to do maths I think

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 16 Aug 2012 11:29

Same as BM although he had 'with Business Studies' - I think he has got rid of all his text books, otherwise Tadpole could have had those, even if he only used them as reference books. All his B'day and other presents for the next three years are going to be book tokens or supermarket vouchers. :-D

YG

YG Report 16 Aug 2012 18:36

Congratulations to Tadpole, Maz!! He has done well. Frog must be very proud of him.

It has been a bit stuffy today, but it is quite pleasant now. Hope it's a cooler night. We had heavy rain last night but it was still muggy when I went to bed.

Been back at work today, but only one more to go before the weekend creeps in!! :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 16 Aug 2012 20:48

May as well talk to myself this morning :-0

Safe journey LG - hope you manage to miss the rain bands on your journey back darn suff.

The Airforce (or someone) is on the move - a flight of 4 helicopters in formation have just flown over West to East :-S We don't often see that!

Mazfromnorf Report 17 Aug 2012 17:37

YG

YG Report 17 Aug 2012 18:36

Tough shift, Maz. It's not much fun when you can't get the sleep you need.

Were the helicopters on the lookout for LG, DET!! :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 17 Aug 2012 20:14

Snaps fingers - Of course! I'd forgotten about LG :-D
Hope you are feeling a bit better today YG

Rotten luck Maz. I bet we can guess what you will be doing tonight - sleeping!

The highlight of our day? Taking the grass clippings to the dump. :-(

YG

YG Report 17 Aug 2012 20:40

To be honest, DET, I can't shake this off at the moment. I shouldn't have gone back to work, but I felt a little better yesterday. Today has been a different story. I am going to bed shortly in the hope of a really good night, armed to the hilt with cough mixture etc etc :-D

I have a feeling that it is going to be a rather idle weekend :-)
