Gooood morning! :-D :-D

Juat read back to see what you've been up to in my absence -

Sorry its not good news about your eyes YG - make the most of the time you have....which may be quite a few years! Would a guide dog get on with the moggies?? ;-)

Sorry to hear that your youngest has disappeared Maz - lets hope it is being well cared for.

Good to see that Pauline has been up to posting. Take it easy in the garden; you don't want a set back! And here's hoping that Fred and his missus + 4 wheeled walking aid had a good time away.

We got back yesterday early evening, but were positively knackered. There is only a 2 hour time difference, but on top of travelling it means we are out of step. Mind you, OH has managed to sleep through while I've got the 2nd load of washing on the line!

There was a massive wet/storm weather system which passed over the Iona islands and mainland Greece while we were there - 2 half days of rain, and one full one with spectacular thunder and lightning :-( At least it was still relatively warm even if it was wet! In retrospect we should have hired a car to see the island as we were saving our 'trip' money to go on the visit to Olympia on the Sunday, but it was cancelled as there weren't enought takers to make it viable. It wasn't cheap. The resort had various inshore cruises operators, but they weren't running during the bad weather, so our options were limited. At least we have the sun and sand yearning out of our system and will probably opt for a city holiday next time we go abroad. Istanbul sounds interesting...if the price is right!

Pity the Eltham Palace exhibition wasn't this coming weekend - we could have arranged to meet LG and OH as it isn't that far (relatively speaking) from here.

Back to reality today - at least PC kept the house tidy and on top of everyone's washing, and her B/F entertained himself by tidying the garden :-D

YG Report 19 Sep 2012 19:29

Welcome home DET!! You have been missed, but it sounds as though you have had a good holiday even if you did take the rain with you for a couple of days!!

I love the Greek Islands, but it is many years since I last visited. It was early October and the excursions were very few then as it was nearing the end of the season.

I am at the hospital tomorrow for my eye angiogram, so will be off work for the day. Plenty of chill time when I get home! :-D

YG Report 19 Sep 2012 22:16

Thanks, LG & OH too! I can't say I am really looking forward to it, although it is only the dye injection that bothers me as I do not like needles :-P :-P Plus they say it can make you feel sick and I hate that too :-( :-(

If you look in before you go, good luck. If afterwards, hope it wasn't as bad as you anticipated <3

On which note, I really ought to be going to bed....but probably won't!

Morning all - today seems to one for the wretched ironing mountain. At least we have a number of TV progs recorded I can watch to take my mind off it!

YG

YG Report 20 Sep 2012 15:47

Afternoon everyone.

I finally escaped after 3 hours. I began to think I would be there all day!

It wasn't bad really. Three or four different lots of photographing and scanning and the horrible dye. They had four attempts at getting the canula into my arm and finally fetched someone else who tried in the other arm and managed it straight away! Didn't have any nausea, but looked horrific when I came out as I was yellow all over, including the whites of my eyes and my pupils were wide and black! Surprised I didn't frighten the cab driver away!!

Am now waiting for the appointment for the start of the treatment, hopefully within the next 10 days to 2 weeks, but certainly not looking forward to these awful injections into the eye. There are quite a few risks with them, including stroke and heart attack as well as possible retina damage so please keep everything you have crossed for me when I go. :-( :-(

LaGooner Report 20 Sep 2012 15:55

Glad today was ok YG. Injections are not at all pleasant but definately a sight saver. We will both keep everything crossed for you. <3.
