Good grief! You *are* early! Cats, an Early shift or couldn't sleep????

Do enjoy your 9 days away - and with a tumble drier, there's no excuse for A not to keep on top of his own laundry. Better watch out, incase we do bump into you in the coastal town or at the Re-enactment (weather permitting) :-D

A big breath to blow the clouds away...FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
There. That should do it. It ought to get brighter and the sun break through in time for lunch :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 7 Oct 2012 10:15

Thanks DET. The cloud is good in one way it will keep the frosts at bay I hope. They were warning this area last night that we may get a little frost so getting out later in the garden to get some of the plants under cover into the greenhouse.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 7 Oct 2012 10:16

My word girl you certainly have a good pair of lungs on you the sun is trying to break through even as we speak :-D :-D

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 7 Oct 2012 10:18

We've been lucky so far although it has been cool some nights - not bad enough to switch to the winter duvet, but you wonder wether to throw a blanket on top.

Any idea what to do with rock-hard green tomatoes? I stripped them off the greenhouse plants yesterday as they were beginning to die back. Still keeping a close eye in the outside ones as they get the sun.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 7 Oct 2012 10:20

Morning all.

I will send you some sunshine, LG!! It is a beautiful, suuny day here :-) :-)

Am just chilling with breakfast before I do a small 'pile' of ironing and then i am going to start painting the kitchen walls. I don't know how far I will get! :-D :-D

Pleased to hear that A's ankle is improving. No exucses for him to not do his jobs while you are away, Maz.

If you and DET happen to bump into one another, just behave yourselves! We don't want the reputation of Nut Lodge to be tarnished :-D :-D

LaGooner Report 7 Oct 2012 10:24

In stereo YG :-D :-D. My usual compaint,it must be catching. Be a good soul and when you have finished your painting done come down here and do mine

DET you could do the old trick of putting them in a container with a ripe banana this encourages the ripening process,my Nan swore by it.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 7 Oct 2012 10:33

Right I am up and away for now. Have a good day no matter what you have planned and I will hopefully catch you all later. <3

Morning YG - why paint the kitchen if you are having a new boiler? :-S

Might try the banana trick. The other idea was to put them on a sunny window sill, but as the sunny ones are at the front, OH may have another hissy fit :-|

I have made green chutney in the past, and frozen them green to chuck in winter casseroles................but we'd much prefer to eat them raw!

YG

YG Report 7 Oct 2012 10:46

Morning DET.

I don't how I posted in stereo! I must have clicked twice in my old age! Have deleted one now.

The boiler is going in the bathroom cupboard , DET, as there isn't suitable wall space in the kitchen. They are not supposed to be making a lot of mess fitting the radiatiors and I will have to leave the skirting boards until they have finished as all the pipework runs in front of them at the moment.

If I need to touch up a bit after they have finished, it won't be so bad. I can't stand this colour any longer!
