Did I wake you up, LG :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 1 Nov 2012 20:47

You most certainly did YG. I had just nodded off on the throne :-D. How did your day go

YG

YG Report 1 Nov 2012 21:14

Pretty hectic. Of course we did all the setting up and clearing away afterwards. It is easy to say let the men do it, but they won't.

The briefing was very interesting. Our new CEO certainly seems to have huge aspirations and I hope she can pull them all off. We also have a new Chair of Council starting next week when the old one retires and he is already making ~~~~~~~~s.

There have been a lot of changes over the last few months and there are going to many more, with them bringing in three new top executives, so a whole new ball game.

My line manager has left her husband today after 5 years of marriage. Don't know what has happened, but hoping her temperament might lighten up a bit once she gets settled in a place of her own. :-(

I was up at 5,20 this morning so feeling a little wilted tonight :-D :-D

LaGooner Report 1 Nov 2012 21:16

My word it was a busy one for you :-0.No wonder you are frazzled.

YG Report 1 Nov 2012 21:37

I'm planning on being in bed by 10pm. Whether I make it or not is another question!! Duffy is already snuggled up in his bed right in front of the radiator, with his legs stretched out. He looks really comfy :-D :-D

LaGooner Report 1 Nov 2012 22:02

Well that just reinforces my thoughs. If there is such thing as reincarnation I am coming back as a cat ;-)

YG

YG Report 1 Nov 2012 22:05

Me too!! All he does is eat and sleep and come for a cuddle when he feels like it. No washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning, gardening to do and walks round as though he owns the place :-D :-D

Just finishing my cuppa, then I'm off for some sleep! :-) :-)

I'll catch you tomorrow hopefully. Sleep well, LG <3

My goodness, what a stressful day you've had YG. Hope you are getting a good night's sleep. 3 new executive officers? Does that mean less charitable money to go towards the 'service'? :-(

Sounds as if your line manager will still give you a bumpy ride, but at least she is working in the right place.

LG - Did you reply to ~Linda~ on the thread she put up especially for you??

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 2 Nov 2012 10:12

Good morning Maz - there's a clear blue sky here :-D

Does the extra one-off shift mean you'll be working 24 hours? Yuk! Hope you get a good run of days off to recover from it.

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 2 Nov 2012 10:21

our sleep shift is 26 hours but next week it will be 31 hours

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 2 Nov 2012 10:29

:-( Knackering

Its a pity they wouldn't allow you to add on a couple of extra hours to your current shifts, until you were balanced

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 2 Nov 2012 11:26

its OK i get rest times lol it also depends what is happening too sometimes its just watching tv lol

YG

YG Report 2 Nov 2012 18:48

Evening all.

They are long shifts, Maz. I hope you get plenty of restful periods, then it won't seem so bad.

DET, we have had three senior managers leave recently, so although it will cost more, most of it will be found there.

The new CEO is very upbeat and determined to spend the funding wisely and we are all buoyed up by her. There will be big changes, and I think either a big shake up in one particular area or some lay-offs, but our department is ok. I hope that she will make our life somewhat better in as much as we can concentrate on important work instead of molly-coddling some to the extreme :-D :-D

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 2 Nov 2012 18:58

they are but the sleep shifts unless we are called upon we are in the flat from 10 pm until 8 am ,so if we invest in the right attention times in the right areas we get that rest unless someone is poorly
YG it seems all is shake ups so hope it wont affect you too much and as you say are allowed to do your job

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 2 Nov 2012 20:54

Busy day tomorrow! Kitchen blind to be fitted at 9am, then a manicure, visiting eldest gd for her birthday and food shopping. Somewhere in between I need to do the unmentionable and then sanding and painting on Sunday!! :-D :-D
