LaGooner Report 5 Nov 2012 11:53

I sure do. I am always up and about by then.

I'm an after 8am sort of person. If there's no reason to get up, there's no reason to wake up. Mind you, once I am awake, I can't just lay there....unlike the male of the household :-|

Afternoon Maz, just finishing a bit of admin. Nice and warm here in the office but bloomin chilly outside :-|

Mazfromnorf Report 5 Nov 2012 16:33

its freezing here but dry so the noise will no doubt start soon with fireworks the two local displays were cancelled this year so those with cars will have to travel

YG Report 5 Nov 2012 18:00

The heating element on my dryer has gone >>>> yet again!! More bloomin' expense :-P :-P

Had approval from the council to fit new internal doors, now I just need to return an application for the surveyor to approve a new glass panel at the side of the kitchen door. Nothing is straightforward with them. I wouldn't mind so much if they were paying to have it done!! :-P :-P

Mazfromnorf Report 5 Nov 2012 18:04

evening my heating boiler is losing pressure and have been speaking to the engineers and builders who did the pipe work because if there is a leak somewhere it will have to be found so no point in decorating yet until its done lol

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Nov 2012 18:20

Dunno about lol - sounds like shoddy workmanship for Maz :-|
Goodness knows why you have had so many problems after the re-furb.

Wheels within Wheels (edit - YG) - after all, they are ultimately responsible for the fabric of your house ;-)

We've been looking at carpets, and then paint. The trouble is that apart from a change, we don't really know what colour we want, especially as we hope it will last another 20 years, just as the current carpet has.

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 5 Nov 2012 18:32

I am fed up with it all its never ending ,apparenly the boiler that i have is not the best and it was existing so the rest has been added to it

YG

YG Report 5 Nov 2012 18:45

Oh dear, Maz. You do seem to have your fair share of problems. I hope that is not an indication of how my boiler will be when it is installed!! :-(

Carpet colour? Mmm, six million dollar question, DET!! My lounge carpet is a sort of mushroom beige colour and I don't like it anymore, but as it has only been down for just over three years, I think it may have to stay, at least until all the re-wiring is done. Then I might think about a change.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 5 Nov 2012 18:47

Ap-par-ent-ly.....boilers are only expected to last for 10 years. Built in obsolescence ?? We're sure our original cast iron chunk of a boiler circa 1969 had fewer problems than the 'new' 9 year old one. :-(

YG

YG Report 5 Nov 2012 19:30

The system that I have at the moment is the old one pipe set up with a back boiler. It must be 25 years old or more and still going strong. It is just the pipes and radiators that are now 'bunged up'. These are easier to bleed than a combi boiler as well, :-(

Evening all, nothing but problems :-|. That's life for you. Just got back from the local History Society talk. Really interesting about the Enigma Machine and Code breakers at Bletchley Park. OH and I will definately have to visit there as it is only 40 mins drive from here near the dreaded Milton Keynes :-0

YG Report 6 Nov 2012 17:55

Good grief! Where are you hiding you miserable lot!! :-( :-(

Sorry I missed you last night, LG. Took myself off to bed early as I was shattered following Sunday's hard labour and knew I had a busy day ahead of me today, as half our team have left to attend our annual conference.
