Lol - as long as you don't get travel sick, and have your fares paid out of expenses :-D

We've had the RU on TV this afternoon, then BM phoned requesting a loan from the Bank of Mum & Dad; he and g/f have seen a flat they'd like to put in an offer on, but wanted a fall back loan if they can't get the price down low enough. It's so expensive in the London boroughs; you could buy a house for the same amount not too far from us. :-(

Morning - hope you have recovered now LG ;-)

OH has started designing electronic circuits again, which means he prefers to use the PC rather than the ancient lappy as he has more control with the manipulation. At least it is more constructive than watching paint dry aka how his portfolio is doing, minute by minute, on the stock market. :-0

Probably, Puss. Fridays are busy days for LG, so she may not be able to raise her voice above a whisper ;-)

Oh, we do hope you get good neighbours next time round, even if you have to put up with crashing and banging while they do the repairs.

I really hope you do get some decent neighbours now Maz. Sounds as though there is a responsible manager from the letting agency now, so everything crossed for when the work is finished!

La, la, la, la (cough, cough, hack, hack)

Ok, already to serenade Aunty. :-D

Good morning all – enjoy your day out Maz, and the dry run to your new place of employment. If you are only going to be working 2 or possibly 3 days a week, you’ll be able to make long weekend style visits to Mum more frequently…as long as you know your shifts far enough in advance!

PC has had 2 weeks off (she always seem to be on annual leave) and is due back on Monday. Her friends keep her informed with the gossip and going ons by text or messaging.

So you haven't taken time off? Tut Tut. What will your co-workers think about your (re)infecting them?

If PC had to cope with those spider webs, she'd be having the screaming ad-dabs, but its good to know that the floods are receeding.

At lunch time, I was relaying to OH from the TV news headlines on at the time, about the solar flares possibly effecting power grids, communications, sat nav etc. At that very moment, we had a power cut. Eerie or what? ;-)

Pauline and Maz ought to try and look to the north tonight; if it's clear, you might be able to see a light display.

'Tis morning and I am still alive, good!! Australian songs of praise and salutation. There are a few, one is our National Anthem. Advance Australia Fair. Without wishing to cast nasturtiums on our anthem I really don't like it much. Then we have Song of Australia and of course Waltzing Matilda. However my very best loved song about Australia is, strangely enough, written and sung by John Denver. Sing Australia. He sang it at a concert in Sydney during our bicentennial celebrations, in 1988. You don't hear it on the radio but I have it on one of his albums. Heavens there's a piece of historical useless information for you.

If her maj wishes to serenade me I am quite happy to go along with Queen ditties. Aunty reaches for the giant economy size ear plugs.

By the way no time off work for me. We have a three day weekend tomorrow and I intend to rest, ha ha, and relax ha ha, during that time. Just have to get through today.

Floods are bad aren't they. The water is receding in most places but as it moves down the rivers other places are in danger of flooding. Did you see the pictures of the spider webs right across the landscape.

http://photoblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/07/10598885-spiders-quick-to-rebuild-in-flood-ravaged-australia

They are fleeing the flood waters and spinning their webs as they go. Not dangerous to humans but I don't think I would like to stand under a tree covered in the tiny critters.

This was Sydney yesterday. Highest rainfall in 24 hours since 1984.

http://www.smh.com.au/environment/weather/lashing-rain-gives-way-to-blue-skies-as-sydney-mops-up-20120308-1uld9.html

And no I am not affected. Remember I live in the driest state on the driest continent. We have about four days of 27 degrees, blue skies, and light breezes. Not too bad.
