I am laughing. You lot are so funny. I thought that might capture LGs attention. Down, girl, down.

And now introducing. Aunty Sherlock. A fairy, dressed in a fairy dress, hob nail boots, a deer stalker hat, tena undergarments, and carrying her super charged wand. Aunty had to choose between a wand and her faithful striped sabre tooth tiger spot. I think the wand is more useful (whispered, so Spot doesn't hear).

Hmmm not bad for a first effort. Needs some tweaking. Can't have wings not an option.

Both my son-in-laws like me ... :-) :-) and I like both of them.

They are both fantastic husbands for my daughters and they are wonderful fathers to MY Grandchildren. My girls are very lucky.

We forget our wedding anniversaries as well. When it came to our silver many years ago the girls said we'll celebrate that one eh mum. Huh!! all four of us forgot.

I always remembered my parents wedding anniversary, they got married on her birthday so that made it easy.

Great Avatar YG....you've been putting Aunty's calendar link to good use then? ;-)
And thank goodness LG has recovered her equilbrium with a nice clear version.

We don't celebrate our Wedding Anniversary now either...we both forget!!! Eldest used to remind OH, but she probably thinks we are old enough to do so ourselves -lol

Puss - sorry, eating a bar of chocolate half asleep won't reduce any weight gain, although you may end up with nightmares and indigestion !

aw shucks Sylvs...

My father-in-law would do the breakfast tray in bed thing and he would put a one stemmed flower in this little vase on it. He was such a lovely man .. shame about her though :-( :-0

I have that vase now and unless I get it out of the cupboard to use it does not see the light of day, himself probably doesn't even know we have it. :-S

Flowers are on the weekly shopping list ............ and now that OH does it by himself most weeks, that means he buys me flowers every week :-)

I started the practice back in 1992 when he and daughter were living in NZ, and I had to stay here by myself ................ having new flowers every week made the house seem a little less lonely.

He also used to buy me flowers on our anniversary, in addition to a gift ......... he tried to always get the flowers that I'd had in my wedding bouquet (something his dad used to do for his mother) .................. but it was a little difficult over here. He was able to get red roses, white carnations and white freesias (most years) ........... but never the lily-of-the-valley!

Then we bought the cabin in 1997, and are up there either at anniversary time or planning on going up the day after, so the habit has gradually stopped.

Hi all

Happy Valentines Day :-)

OH and I exchanged cards ................. as we have since we got engaged 45 years ago.

No flowers, no gifts, no special dinners ........EVER!

Worse thing over here is that kids are pressured to give Valentines cards to parents, grandparents, teachers, relatives etc etc

you can packs of cards for kids to give away

If they want to give a card to one person in their class, they have to give a card to EVERYONE ............. heaven forbid that anyone not receive a card. It will scar their psyches for ever .... or so we are told!

Some schools have forbidden card giving.
