The first snow drop of spring? Isn't that early for you?

Good news about OH, long may it continue :-D

It seems that it is warmer in your part of the world than in ours, which is a turn up for the books. Perhaps we ought to emmigrate - lol

Cold and dry here Sylvia, hard frosted ground.

Pleased to see it went OK with your OH. I think the doctors must have had an idea the polyp wasn't cancerous if they didn't seem concerned. I'll keep my fingers crossed that all will be well.

rain rain rain today (Feb 8)

........... and today was the day OH had the colonoscopy

I don't drive, never have driven

so we had to go down on the bus (about a 20 minute ride), and then got a taxi home.

Anyway, the news is good .......... one small polyp removed, go back to see the doc in 1 year, and have a colonoscopy in 2 years.

The polyp will be examined of course to make sure it isn't cancerous. But it doesn't seem that the doc was too concerned.

More rain tomorrow ........ so we are in a warm wet period

OH saw the first snowdrop in flower in our garden this morning :-D

Evening all, watching the tyneside derby with interest myself Maz. . Getting a bit scappy though they are both at risk of yellow cards . :-0

EDIT...Looks like we might have a bit of a fight on here Maz. Gunners versus Black Cats :-D. Not once but twice

What's it like being semi-retired? For the first couple of years, great - all that time to devote to do what you want. But after that? Well, it can get a bit boring; no incentive to get on with things as there is always tomorrow.

Hope the house is intact when AS returns from work work. You might suggest to OH that he sleeps with a clean rag or something before he goes away next time, then Spot will have a 'comforter' while the house is empty ;-)

We are both trying to get used to our new glasses. OH's are fine, but I'm not happy with my varifocals. I think the 'middle distance' graduation is in the wrong place :-0

Morning all. Well I can match the weather this morning. It is about 4.30 am and quite chilly. Hopefully the wind stays away so OH and the mob can have their fishing day without chucking up over the side. I have a few bits of unmentionable to do before work work today. And I get to walk Spot the fabulous sabre tooth tiger. I don't know what he is planning but I know he is not happy at being left behind. Expecting to see something belonging to OH being given the doggy chew before the day is out.

Loved the flooded road story Sylvia. Sounds a very typical Australian response to a problem. It's OK mate, she'll be right.There is a video somewhere of a four wheel drive attempting a flooded road crossing. Might see if I can dig it up.

Evening all!!

Pleased you had a nice day off Maz. What's this with all the uniforms?? I'm getting quite jealous!!

DET!!! Still in pjs at 12.00!! I had done four hours work then!! What it must be like to be semi-retired!! :-D

Sylvia, I hope everything went well for yor OH. As LG said, not a particularly pleasant experience, but I'm sure he allowed you to chaffeur him home in style!!

LG, you made a right bloomin' racket last night!! I needed six pairs of ear plugs and my head under the pillows to stop that horrible howling noise invading my ear drums!! :-P

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 8 Feb 2012 12:01

What a shock to the system -hope you had time to wake up properly. shift work really messes up your body clock, or so PC says!

Unless I have to go out, I get mesmorised on the computer until OH surfaces, and THEN get washed and dressed! The later he gets up, the longer I'm in my dressing gown ( embarrased emoticon!!!! ) He's only just got up so........~~~~~~~

Not a bad idea! Sometimes, getting the ironing board out works for me. The whole pile doesn't neccessarily get done in one hit, but gets done more quickly as I get fed up with the board cluttering the place up - lol

LaGooner Report 8 Feb 2012 10:32

Morning DET. I am off round Yidarmylass's in a moment to have my well earned coffee break and prep up for tonights Brownies.

Ironing can wait for a little while longer :-D

Mine is one of the Foot Hills, but still lurking where it was left. At least it has brought down from upstairs to where I'll see it.
There is also a hem to mend and trousers to turn up, but there is always something more interesting to do!

As our glasses are supposed to be ready today, a trip to the Centre and coffee is on the cards at some point.

Morning all
all our buses are supposed to be kneeling buses allowing disabled access and to be fair most of them are .Even A,s coaches kneel or are able to meet the raised bus stops to allow disabilty access , Being disabled too i struggle on the coaches they are like climbing mountains
Our bus service in Co Durham is very intermittent .where Pauline lives its much more coordinated than ours .but its still not bad
it is minus 12 here at the moment i am off today so its chores and more chores A is working tonight so got all day but am on an early tomorrow

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 8 Feb 2012 04:18

all our buses are kneeling buses

there are still some old-style, non-kneelers kept in running order in case they are needed ....... but we rarely see them.

It's OA in the spine which has caused my problems.

sleep tight, everyone

LaGooner Report 8 Feb 2012 00:33

Kneeling buses, no such thing here our buses are made the same time as the Ark. Nite nite we are off now to so catch you tomorrow <3

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 8 Feb 2012 00:30

Hope all goes well tomorrow Sylvia, and that he enjoys the luxury of being driven for a change :-)

LG - we keep telling you about kneeling buses; you really out to check if they are on your routes.
Where we live, the buses are once an hour into the nearest town, and once an hour to the large out of town shopping centre, then massive gaps at the end of the school day where they jiggle to fit in with pick-ups. The timetable published on the internet has no resemblance to what actually occurs, and they wonder why only the elderly, non drivers or youngsters use them??

On that note, as OH has cleared the bathroom, I'm off to bed.

Night night.
