Thanks

it is 6 years, last December, since he had a colon re-section because of cancer

.......... he had follow-up checks, in December 2006 and 2007, then they said they didn't want to see him until December 2011

This is that appointment

so hoping no more polyps to be found ....... and that any found are non-cancerous.

I can't walk far either (I have a deteriorating spine) ....... but we do have a very good bus service here. Plus OH is driving me around more now that he is retired (or supposed to be retired :-D )

I could not be without my little car. Being disabled I cannot walk very far and if I do it takes me ages. Good wishes to OH, not a very pleasant procedure

OH has to go and have a colonoscopy tomorrow

and I am the "responsible person" designated to bring him home

by cab :-D

AS

I well remember driving in Queensland around the end of February 1976.

We decided to "go inland" through Emerald, etc to get from Rockhampton to Cairns.

There were 2 typhoons coming in, 1 from the east and 1 from the west .... so we were listening to the radio whenever we could.

We stopped in one small community and asked the local polis if the road was clear north to Emerald.

Yep, says he. I've just driven it.

Ha bloomin' Ha

We were driving a little white 1966 VW Beetle

the water came up to the ledge of the door, and was rising rapidly, when ..........

It stopped, right in the deepest part

OH shouts "Get out and push"

I shout back "What about the snakes"

He goes "B***** the snakes. Push"

We got it out of the flood, and onto higher ground.

Then OH waded back to talk with another guy ................... the water had risen from calf depth to knee in a matter of minutes.

The other guy decided to try it ....... and came sailing through, waves of water swooshing up and around on both sides of him

We decided that it was better to be safe than sorry ........ so we took the next turning we could to get back to the coast road.

Our almost 2-year old sat entranced in the back seat watching Mum and Dad!

Not quite so bad in northern NSW. Newcastle does not appear to be in the flooded area.

This is mostly west of Brisbane, inland. Don't forget our distances are much greater than yours.
