Derek - Shhhhh!!!! ;-)

RMS - you say we moan about inclement weather? From what you've previously said, you rely on the snow for your water supply!

Since Maz is home all day, whats the betting her front windows will be sparkling clean, just so she can keep watch next door with out being accused of a curtain twitcher. :-D

Got to get OH up - we have to leave for the opticians in 45 mins.

You're doing better than me, Aunty. I thought Derek was trying to get LG to Reply to something, and missed a bit out - lol.

Hope you have boxes of tissues to hand for those in tears at the prospect of School - and thats only for the Adults ;-) Don't wish away your summer too soon - the autumn days can be wonderful.

AuntySherlock Report 29 Jan 2012 19:50

Let me decipher Derek's post. I'm learning to speak pommy!! I think it means he wishes LG know that Arsenal beat Aston Villa in a come from behind win!!! How am I doing.

Coolish, windy, overcast here this morning. It will be snowing soon. The days are becoming shorter which means we are almost getting up in the dark. There, there, I know you lot don't see the light of day before 10 am or after 2pm. That's what you get for living next door to the north pole!!

I stayed up last night and watched the men's final in the tennis. Well until I fell asleep and had to watch the presentation speeches until they announced who had won. Should have called it a draw, I think.

Well off to work, work this morning. All hands in deck, hoist the sails, the brig for the disinclined (in my dreams), and a spare grindstone for anyone who still thinks they are on holiday. I am prepared, well apart from a few things my brain has suddenly drawn to my attention!!

Catch you all later.

Derek

LA!!!!.......what a come back!!...RVP again!!

Derek.

YG

YG Report 29 Jan 2012 12:54

Afternoon everyone.

Was an early bird this morning, up and looking something like respectable and out by 9.30. Had to be at the opticians (yet again!!). I changed to daily lenses a couple of weeks ago which are much better so had to let them check me out!! Came straight home afterwards as I wasn't tempted to wander and spend!!

I think I will have enough expense this week!! Car tax to pay for tomorrow, computer repair and things are not looking good for Muffy, so could be a very expensive week! I am pleased to say, though, that I got a substantial refund from British G** which was very unexpected and a lowering of my d/d!!

I am clearing out quite a bit of stuff from the lappy. I tried to do a backup last night but it failed (like it is doing when I try to download). Fortunately I have done regular weekly back ups up to the beginning of the year and then changed it to monthly, as I do not save a lot of things at the moment. I am going to attempt to put everything on flash drives as well, just to be sure.

I am hoping he will only have to do a system restore which he could complete in the evening, but if he has to reinstall back to factory settings, then I could definitely be without for a few days (sob, sob!!)

Good luck with the neighbours, Maz! I hope they are totally gone and you get some peace and quiet

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 29 Jan 2012 10:03

Morning Maz. Hope the male is leaving as well, and they haven't just split up :-D
You may have to put up with the noise of various tradesmen getting the house back in order, but that will be a small price to pay.

Eldest &co are visiting later. Catering started off as a response to 'just popping in', then a request for coffee, then sandwiches. A full roast was turned down, so lets hope they weren't banking on it - lol.

When we visit the in-laws, she always wants to feed us, so we try hard not to fall into the same trap. If she could get over that hurdle, we may go over there more frequently for a couple of hours. As it stands, we have to assume the full day....hence not so often. :-0

Rather misty round here...and i haven't stuck my nose out doors. OH has to get up soon as he needs to wash the kitchen floor. My back is feeling 'delicate' and I don't want to put it out by using the mop. (Its happened before!)

Mazfromnorf Report 29 Jan 2012 08:48

morning all well the tenants have moved the tv aerial has gone ,But the partner who is not supposed to be thetere was about last night and his dogs are still outside too its a start but i do smugly suspect the metal pipes and etc will all be moving out too lol .I am off tomorrow so will make a discreet enquiry as a concerned neighbour to the letting agency reference security and squatters lol .
I am up sort of i am on a late but the car has a problem not sure what so i am getting prepared to use a bus later at lunch time then a taxi home maybe if the car is not fixed by then .but I am going to use the house contract taxis as it will be cheaper .
it is grey and cold here but dry snow is threatened but not happened yet

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 29 Jan 2012 00:08

It was 3c early this afternoon when we went out for a walk. Mad or what? Now its 0c.. We were trying to stroll along part of the Saxon Shore Way, but it was hemmed in between water front industrial units/PLA/boatyards and derelict factories, so we gave up with out acutally walking along the shore.

Hope the downloading rescue of files has been succesful YG, and that Maz' neighbours-from-hell are truely moving out. Don't know about baking them a cake, you ought to have a street party!

Sylvia has a good idea for the weather - like it lots! We had our dual energy bill in the other day; its less than last year despite the prices going up.

So YG is going to disappear for a day or so, and LG will probably be decorating, yet again. it will be even quieter here than usual :-0

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 28 Jan 2012 23:10

We don't worry about the bill we are not going to freeze :-P. I don't know what temperature it is outside as it is too dark to see outdoor thermometer
