Poor little thread was lying at the bottom of the second page......... gasping for the kiss of life.

Maz, your new avatar looks like a baby frog............ is there something you haven't told us?

I've stopped making cakes because I eat them all. My waistline can do without the extra inches.

I walked 6 miles today.......... trying to get rid of the extra weight I put on at Christmas.

Have a nice sleep aunty i am now dressed and almost finished my chores ,the best bit of baking is the bowls afterwards imagine the size of a bowl from 200 plus portions lol

AuntySherlock Report 23 Jan 2012 12:12

All this cooking, special occasion. Yes, I am treating the tribe at work, work, to morning tea. It is a self imposed penance for not being involved in all the Christmas frivolities because of my workload prior to Christmas.

I know, I am quite barmey. But I do feel, well how do I feel, right now I am kna**ered, however I will feel happier, tomorrow.

I should not be sitting here chatting. I have washing to fold, and I can't seem to find the kitchen sink. It used to be above the cupboard, but all I can see is dishes. May I have a few cyber pets for an hour please. I suggested to OH I should have an assistant. He said, in your dreams, and went to bed. Still a couple more things to do but they can wait until the morning. If I manage to wake up early enough.

By the way I have ruined my healthy eating. Do you know how hard it is to bake cakes and ice them without licking the beaters, or cleaning the last of the mixture out of the basin. Then there was this fruit cake someone thought I might like to use for the occasion. One of the ones with all the fruit and nuts on top. Which kept falling off, which I had to eat because it was too nice to waste. It is a wonder I am not floating about two feet off the ground with all the sugar I have consumed. Must be the weight keeping me earthbound.

That's enough. Off to tidy my abode and then catch a few hours sleep so I can be up early in the morning.

How about Gazpacho Soup? That's a cold Spanish one. From memory, it has lots of tomatoes and vinegar, so if he has an open wound, it might be a bit painful. He’s hade his eyes and teeth looked at; when’s the ears and feet due for a service?

What’s with all the baking? Is it for a special event?

OH was up and out before 0815 this morning, due back in about an hour. He’ll probably be all Holier than thou since I doubt I’ll be dressed – lol

Now, now, SueMaid. We only allow play fighting on this thread.

Has Aunty forgotten that I'm a Down Underer too - she may have to fight me for the throne ;-)

I think you mean Vichyssoise (sp?), Aunty S.

LaGooner Report 23 Jan 2012 08:50

Hi one and all. Well Aunty you win some you lose some :-. I won't lose sleepover it :-D :-D.

Sylvia my little one has Tofu cheese. YUK!!! she likes it though, strange child :-). She suffers the same effects as you,not good for a little one who goes to nursery.

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 23 Jan 2012 02:57

I am not into fighting over the throne. I just bide my time until the Poms are snoring in their beds, and take over.

Blondie is on a healthy eating regime. No dairy, no sugar, no wheat, and nothing which grows under the ground. She make quite delicious meals from her allowed ingredients, if you like eating cardboard. No, that's unfair, I have sampled one of her lamb dishes baked with pomegranate juice and it was delicious.

I am home early today need to finish off this baking, icing, preparing and fiddling for tomorrow. OH is off to the dentist. Yes he will need pampering when he arrives home. I will probably be served soup and mash or icecream for tea tonight. Oh heavens hot soup today sounds 'orrible, and don't suggest that French cold soup, the name of which I am too lazy to google.

Catch you all later. Condolences on the losses in the games or congrats if you won. Our side lost the tennis, T20 cricket, soccer, basketball, but I think they won the Tour Down Under.

Poor little thing

Good on ya for having treats for her!

My neighbour's grandchild is about 3, and dairy intolerant ...... and she also keeps special treats in for her

I know it's not going to kill me ................. but it does give me the most violent intestinal upset, that goes on and on for about 4 hours.

I do not like it!

and so avoid dairy. I've had a few "accidents", and suffered for it!

People do say I should be able to eat sheep or goat's milk and cheese ................ but I really do not want to try them in case ........

I guess you are about to go to bed

sleep tight

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 22 Jan 2012 22:41

She is used to it now and questions anything she thinks might have milk in it. She is only just over 3 but knows whats what :-D. I keep in SPECIAL treats for her and ordinary for her little sister so she does not go without ;-)

SylviaInCanada Report 22 Jan 2012 21:21

LG

it is indeed ......... although I do have to say that it is easier to deal with than when I was first diagnosed in 2005

more foods are available without dairy, and more items in the grocery store are labelled "dairy (or lactose) free". Even ones that wouldn't have had dairy in them anyway !

cafes and restaurants are more amenable to making slight changes (eg, omitting a sauce, or butter on a sandwich).

and most coffee shops have soy milk ....... so I can have my favourite Soy Latte :-D :-D

I do miss cheese, proper ice cream, and yoghurt, though!

Your littlie must find it hard when unable to eat what friends eat.

Found a use for those stink bombs I am throwing them at that other red and white team :-| :-| :-| :-|.

Evening all, I only bake from scratch as I have to do special milk and butter free ones for Mini Gooner. Also with all my lot packet mixes would cost me a fortune :-D.
