No I haven't ZZzzz, there is so much to organise in her everyday life and making the arrangements for her Mum's funeral must be keeping her very busy. I am sure she will look in and let us know how she is when she is ready bless her <3

Nite nite YG, sleep well, see you tomorrow :-D <3.

We have always been careful with utility uses so we don't have huge bills

YG

YG Report 16 Nov 2021 22:20

Mine needs to come back down, but it doesn't look as though we will be returning to the office for anytime soon, so I need to try to restrict the water usage!

I am off to bed now, LG.

Sleep well and have a good day tomorrow :-) <3

We have had a water meter for a few years now but it was our choice, it is the electric smart meter we won't have because we already do stuff to reduce the usage and we have a gas tank in the garden so we order that when we need it.

LaGooner Report 16 Nov 2021 21:53

I do have a water meter and that is cheaper for us now that the kids have left home.

YG

YG Report 16 Nov 2021 21:50

I'm not very smart then, cos I've got one!! I have to admit though that it reduced my water bill significantly when I had it fitted. The bill has risen because I am at home all the time now instead of being in the office, so more cuppas, washing etc.

By the way YG you really wouldn't have liked being a fly on the wall, you would have peed your pants laughing.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 16 Nov 2021 21:47

We don't have a smart meter as we are smart enough without one :-D :-D :-D

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 16 Nov 2021 21:47

Ah ha just had a brain wave the batteries could be buried in the coal mines. :-D

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 16 Nov 2021 21:45

It all bully boy tactics so " they" get what they want like with smart meters in our homes, we don't have one and don't intend to have one and they can't make us.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 16 Nov 2021 21:42

I must have listened well at school for once :-D :-D :-D

YG

YG Report 16 Nov 2021 21:38

You are very well versed in all this, LG :-0 I know naf all about it!! :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 16 Nov 2021 21:35

H had to have a scan for her hearing too YG so that is nothing to fret about <3.
What annoys me about all this climate change etc is that they all talk a load of bunkham, The world climate has always had ups and down over millions of years and as for the carbon dioxide rising up to the atmosphere well I learn that carbon dioxide is heavier than air so another lie.

YG

YG Report 16 Nov 2021 21:24

Well it's one of those nights, tonight!! LG. M has phoned me now as well, so that's another half hour gone, although in fairness, she was phoning to stop me worrying about having to go for a MRI scan over my hearing loss. The assessor said it is standard practice now, but I didn't believe him. Apparently M's friend has one fitted this summer and she had to go for one!

Oooh crikey, you two are going to give me nightmares about radiation leaking out of the ground!! Mind you, by the time that comes into being, I probably won't be on this planet any more :-D :-D

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 16 Nov 2021 21:11

I agree with what you say LG, and where does that leave people who cannot afford to buy a new car and all that goes with it? And what about public transport, buses, trains etc
Tongue in cheek comment now, they can only bury the old batteries and monitor the pits that they are buried in, it's radiation after all.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 16 Nov 2021 20:50

It most certainly is :-0. Nothing can be carbon neutral as everything uses some kind of fuel to manufacture. As for electric cars how in the devils name are they going to recycle the deadly lithium and cobalt from the batteries. They are also not capable of doing a good mileage without charging after a short while and imagine a wet winter night with wipers on and lights that would soon eat the battery :-|
