Our village is growing into the other two next to us. We are wondering with all the hundreds of houses being built where the kids will go to school and whether we will ever get an appointment at the local health centre

ZZzzz Report 10 Oct 2021 23:24

We have lived in this area for over 40 years and seen it grow from smaller than a village to what will soon become a village if all housing estates keep being built.
The village I grew up in is a town now.

We have always had them, one of the joys of living in the countryside :-D. The Black Squirrels are very pretty to look at but very destructive

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 10 Oct 2021 23:16

We don't have many squirrels but we do have pigeons and magpies and reckon it is because their patch is being built on.

LaGooner Report 10 Oct 2021 23:01

Bl***y Squirrels and also feathered rats (wood pigeons) they are a damn nuisance

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 10 Oct 2021 22:57

Tree rats???

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 10 Oct 2021 22:35

I don't have mole problems but we do get trouble from the tree rats :-| :-| :-|

ZZzzz

ZZzzz Report 10 Oct 2021 22:34

We have fir trees and oak trees in the field behind our house so always have leafs and needles to deal with, and the mole is back again grrr.

LaGooner Report 10 Oct 2021 22:21

I dread the leaves dropping from the big trees on the next door property. I have all year problems with the cedar needles which are a damn nuisance :-| :-|. Nite nite , sleep well :-D <3

My bin is full and I have two sack full now as well, It won't be emptied for a fortnight, then we have one more at the end of November. It won't be long before all the leaves start blowing into my garden :-(

I want to try and get the other borders weeded this week, then I can concentrate on unmentionables while I am on leave and enjoy some walks with fur . :-) :-)

I am off now. Sleep well, LG :-) <3

Evening ZZzzz, we haven't done a lot today, just the basics. We will clean the house through on Tuesday as we have the boiler fella out on Wednesday for the yearly service.

ZZzzz Report 10 Oct 2021 22:13

I've made a bit of a dent in the ironing pile, I was amazed at the rediscoveries of clothes that were hiding, hubby vacuumed the whole house so it looks and smells nice now, we sprinkle talc on the floors first :-D

Our green bin is almost full and seeing as we are only have one collection in 2 weeks time we are going to top it up. Hopefully we can get outside this week and get the last few jobs done to put the garden to bed for the winter

YG

YG Report 10 Oct 2021 21:53

I have, LG :-) It makes a change and I'm proud of myself tonight, albeit very achy :-0

The gardener only did half his usual time on Monday as he was running late. Only a couple of borders were weeded and the side privet cut. R had done the grass the week before so was going to leave it until the gardener comes again, but it has shot up this week, particularly at the back where it is more shaded.

I had a lot of day lilies suddenly appear in the border this year after being stripped out several years ago. They have reinvented themselves and I have pulled the lot out . What a painful job to do and loads of roots/
