Dermot Report 2 Nov 2020 16:00

A small article in today's newspaper highlighted how a GP was hoodwinked into buying an Aladdin's Lamp, paying over £72,000.

He subsequently reported the matter to the police after he realised that the lamp did not have magical powers, as described in the folk tale.

He had to see a Doctor at the hospital this morning and he has to have a swab test, blood test and another camera in a pill jobbie in the next week or two.

I’ve been put on 600mg iron tablets a day for two months.

Anyway what have you done we’ve just had helicopters flying overhead and we are in Berkshire. :-0

YG Report 1 Nov 2020 21:33

I haven't got much happening this week, apart from V's birthday on Wednesday and I'm doubtful that I will see her anyway/ She was supposed to be going to North Yorkshire for a spa session and overnight stay, but that will be cancelled now due to the lockdown. She won't be happy.

I need to contact my hairdresser on Tuesday morning and plead with her to fit me in either on Tuesday or Wednesday before they close. I was due for my monthly cut on Friday and need it doing ready for the funeral next week.. I really didn't think we would have to go through this again. I hope they can open up again in time for the unmentionable season!!

Goodness you have been busy. I have had no news on the green bins yet but mine is still empty anyway. We are supposed to be having our shower sorted tomorrow, bliss no more washes down :-D :-D

YG Report 1 Nov 2020 20:57

I have done a load of washing, ironed the bedding and remade it. Been to the supermarket as I forgot to hand over my vouchers yesterday, so needed to go to customer services to do it today.

I have emptied and washed the green bin. The council have suspended the service until March due to Covid, rather than the usual end of season in the last week of November and it's sod's law that I forgot to put it out on Thursday. It is all bagged up now and I will take it to the tip tomorrow or Tuesday lunchtime. Grass cuttings can go in a bag in the black bin for the winter, but the gardener will be lopping the branches on the cherry tree, so I'm hoping he will take them away like he did in the last lockdown.

Dear All

Hello to you all, you lovely lot!

Well, its almost the start of another week.

Try not to buy too many toilet rolls.

Keep calm and hopefully when the weather is better mid-week, enjoy the sunshine.

Take gentle care
