I would love to know how they justify these prices ?

seems rather greedy to me for a copy of a cert

Yes I agree Ray because we have given all the details all they have to do islook in the register and print it out.

Hi Joan

But should all hobbies be held to ransom ?

With all the members buying certs I find it hard to beleive
that a piece of paper, admin and post should cost,
nigh on a tenner

I think it's good value for money. The first rise in 7 years, so I'm not complaining. x

Leni you can order them on-line rather than post, that way you are sure of only paying £7.00

I suppose it depends on how far your research goes
if you only want certain certificates then no problem,
but when you want several dozen or more then that
is when it starts to accumulate, I,m sure if the certs
were cheaper, there would be plenty more people,
applying for them.

I know hte price increase seems a bit steep but that's because it's all in one go.

I was reading a book this morning about Family History written in 1994. The author was bemoaning the cost of certificates then - at £5.50.

He also mentioned paying a researcher could cost up to £12 per hour.

So, maybe £9.25 is not too bad considering ...
