Hi there, I'm trying to find information about my Great Great Grandmother, Annie Williams (c1868)

She married Henry George Hallford (also varied as Alford, Halford, Holford and Hulford!) in Middlesex, however I have been unable to find a marriage certificate...

I would like to find out about Annie's ancestors... I know she was born around 1868 but cannot find a birth record anywhere as on the 1911 census she is listed as being born in Usley

Th problem is, I've looked to find out where Usley is... I've tried different variations but cannot find such a place! If anyone has any ideas,they would be greatly appreciated :)

I wonder if it means Yiewsley - this comes under Uxbridge and there is a birth for a Nellie Halford in Uxbridge April-June 1898 ref 3a 28

Ah that is a very good point! I hadn't thought of that, but I know that the family later on were from Yiewsley; so that probably is it!

There is no birth for an Annie in Uxbridge around that year but there is this one -

That is very interesting- the name and dates fit so I would imagine that is her.

Perhaps her marriage is also listed as Anna...

That's definately them... So it would suggest that perhaps Annie was a couple of years younger than I first thought... It's certainly a possibility!

Those are all possiblities. However, as far as I am aware, Annie's maiden name was Williams and she only married once... Henry George Hallford (/Halford/Hulford/Holford/Alford!)
