Have a nice day Jane.

Happy Birthday to your OH Gill, Will you be doing anything ???

The sun showed it's face for half an hour, but now cloudy and looking like showers again today. Madam won't be pleased, as she has all these plants to put in.

Off for my shower and shave now the bathroom is free.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Not too bad here today but the sky is grey blue and white and its quite bright and warm.

Happy Birthday to your oh Gill and I hope he has a good day. Did you make him his cake yet?

I am going to get back to my corner cupboard today and see if I can put it into some kind of order but first I have to get on my hands and knees to reach in to clean it. Not easy with my knees. Its one of those cupboards you chuch things in and can't reach anything at the back so I think I shall see if I can find a plastic box to put stuff in so I can pull it out to get to the things.

Hope Jane has a nice day out.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for my OH but it's not his birthday till tomorrow. He's off today so I've passed on the wishes and he said to say thanks. He's now Royalty and has 2 birthdays LOL like the Queen does :-D :-D :-D.

We're in the process of fixing a cupboard under the sink, I had that much stuff in there it's pushed the back off and some of the stuff fell out over the back, so OH is fixing it for me.......So much for the kitchen being last on my list LOL I was only looking for some carpet cleaner as the carpet need cleaning in the back room. I'll have to do that on Saturday now, I'm not doing much tomorrow with it being OH's birthday, he's in work in the afternoon so I'll have a bit of time to do something but the carpet is a big job as I have to wait for it to dry before I can do anything in there. OH's also put the wardrobe doors on so while he's outside cutting the new part for the cupboard and fixing it in place I'm sorting out the new bedroom.

Because the kitchen is upside down at the moment with the contents of the cupboard everywhere I've not had a chance to bake his cake yet. Will do that later.

Hope you have a nice day Jane, nice to hear the weather is warm for you. Your post came through ok.

I put things in plastic boxes Mel, it's so much easier to take it out and then look for what you want rather than trying to find things in a dark cupboard, plus it's easier to clean the cupboard out next time as well. So we're both sorting out a kitchen cupboard today then ;-) ;-).

You must be worn out Frank, looks like an early night for you. How did you get on at the post office trying to find your sons address? I hope you managed to get hold of it and post a card to him <3

Well, I'd better get back to sorting out the front bedroom, I've just thrown away a pile of old plastic coat hangers from our bedroom, they are so flimsy and break if you put to much weight on them. OH's suits are now on wooden coat hangers..........Much better.

See you all later <3

Afternoon all,

Nice here ,plenty of sun shine and just a comfortable temperature ,there a nice breeze too.

I think Gill's hubby's birthday is tomorrow ,but if i have it wrong Happy Birthday for today <3
Hope the wardrobe doors are all sorted and back on now Gill ,i bet they were heavy with the mirrors on the front .

Does it normally take that time Jane or was it the traffic that held you up ?
sounds as if it's a cooler day there than last time you went .

You were an early bird this morning Frank, you'll have to have a nice doze this afternoon in the garden ,you've got nice shade under the tree.

You started on cleaning the cupboards now Mel ? those corner cupboards are a night mare to get to the back of , i use one of those plastic tubs ,it makes it so much easier to just pull the tub out to get to what you want .

Son had a tooth out yesterday ,he hasn't gone to work today because he said it's so painful, it was a big tooth and the top of the tooth broke as she was extracting it , the top came off and the two root bits came out on at a time as she had to dig them out :-0 :-( his mouth is so sore and he says when he puts his head down the whole gum just throbs !!

Hubby had another hospital appointment about his neck pain ,he thinks the exercises he been told to do has helped and the physio was pleased with him ,he told hubby to try a Memory foam pillow as he thought that would help too ,so i've been out and got one for him ,the pillow seems much heavier than a normal pillow , i just hope it doesn't make hubby hot when he sinks into it :-S he gets hot with a normal pillow ,i'am always washing his pillow .

Right better get my floors washed then i think there's some ironing to do .

Afternoon All,

Have you tried looking at the electoral roll here Frank? You can try just the free search.

http://www.searchelectoralroll.co.uk/Electoral_Roll_Search.asp

Oh Gill I see you are hard at work again. I bet you are glad to get the wardrobe doors back on and start getting straight again. Then there's Mel in her cupboard again! I must admit I'm a great user of boxes in cupboards as well. I cut off the flaps and then stand everything up. It does make ilife easier. I use lots of plastic trays and small boxes in drawers to seperate things too.

Thats good if the exercises are helping your hubby's neck Mandy. Your poor son though with his sore mouth after having the tooth out. It obviously didn't want to come out, but will hopefully settle down soon.

OH has been over to his mum's this morning as she is struggling to eat or drink. The doctor's been and taken her off some of her medication and altered other. OH found she hadn't been taking her anti sickness medication so no wonder she's been struggling. When he asked her why she'd stopped taking it she said it wasn't working. It's typical though, she never gives anything chance if it doesn't work with the first dose, no matter what you tell her. The district nurse is to come and give her injections instead of tablets next. Then OH is going to see his dad on the way back. I just hope that goes well.

Meanwhile I have been catching up on things here, doing errands for OH, shopping and am now turning up the other pair of curtains. Just the second lining to pin up now then I can machine them. :-D Then I can get back to finishing the study cupboard sort out. OH shredded another bin bag full this morning. :-)

I bet Jane has found it more comfortable for her day out today. I think last year she was sweltering in the marquees.

Yes she was Ann and had forgotten her fan if I remember rightly.

Thats three of you now that have told me to put things in plastic boxes for that corner cupboard and I have already done that as I thought the same. Iv'e got another one of these cupboards so I shall do the same with that one when I get to it. It is the saucepan one and colenders, casserole dishes and other dishes and jugs. I hav'nt been in that corner for ages either but I know my HUGE french mixing bowl is in that corner and I don't use it much now I don't make all the pickles and chutneys for the bell fund. Used to make cheese in it too years ago. I love kitchen things and old kitchen things and have 6 or 7 mixing bowls of different sizes some normal ones and some with lips for pouring and a glass one I use when using the mixer. You never know I might find room to have the Kenwood in there and then perhaps I would use it instead of it being in the uti room cupboard where I can't be bother to get it out, use it , wash it all up and put it back. I use the little hand whisk oh bought me. So much quicker to pop it back in its box and just have the mixing bowl to wash and the two whisks.

Your getting along with your curtains Ann. They will soon be done now. When the nurse comes back can she make sure MIL takes ALL her meds she is suppose to take? She is a naughty girl not taking things prescribed and she must know they take a day or two to get into your system. But don't hey make you cross when they won't help themselves!!!!! Mum was just the same sometimes. As for not managing to eat that can be a sign too of the cancer taking over. Thinking of Gordon at this time and hope he manages to relax a bit once he gets home.

Jane Report 16 Jul 2015 18:23

Yes Mel you are right..I actually had left the fan in the car last year and only found it when we were on the way home lol..I did remember today and was glad I did as it was stifling in the marquees. We had a lovely time just browsing and looking at everything. There was some beautiful things but my goodness SO Expensive :-S
I did buy a recipe book and some pencils for my colouring book :-D.They are really nice ones, and a roll that holds them all.I did laugh as the man who was helping me with the pencils said I could hang the roll on my easel !!!!!!!!......I said I wasn't an artist and just did colouring in LOL.He said of course you are an artist :-D

Then when I went to the loo,a lady stopped me and said she loved my shoes. She asked me what make they were.I took one off and said I thought they were a German make like Reiker.I looked at the inside and said "oh no they are called Kiwi"
Itwasn't until a bit later I realised that the Kiwi name was the name of the inner sole I had put in LOLOL(same as the shoe polish)...They are actually Reike* :-S.Silly me.

We both feel whacked out now.I don't think we will go again next year.It wasn't 2 hrs Mandy .Chris said it was just over an hour and a half. There was some lovely food to be had.Paella,Lasagne,Curry,Wraps,Veggie Burgers,Some Peruvian food,Quiches, salads and so on.We had a Lasagne which was the nicest I think I have ever had

Ann that is good now that a Nurse will be coming to do an injection for MIL.At least that way you all know she will have had the painkillers.(I am assuming that is what it is). Also the nurse should make sure she has her anti emetic med too.
I know before she has refused to take her meds because they didn't work :-S :-S

Oh James has just arrived and i forgot to put his dinner in .I'll BBL

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Jul 2015 18:47

Sounds like you had a good day out then Jane. Did Chris buy himself anything? You will be pleased with your pencils. I have some that are water colour pencils that were actually bopught for mum. I don't think she ever used them. We bought her lots of drawing and painting stuff as you know she used to paint in oils and watercolour towards the years when I moved in as I can't stand the smell of the spirits and oils used in oil painting.

I have emptied the cupboard and flung loads away and other stuff is going in the shed as its flower fertilizer and stuff loads of reels of wire to tie plants up with. Mum always liked it handy for when she did'nt want to go on the wet grass to her shed. I think by the way I am going I shall have one shelf completely free to fill up with other things that are on the work surfaces like my scales and bottles of sloe gin etc.

Jane Report 16 Jul 2015 19:12

Mandy ,I hope your son's mouth isn't so painful now.Made me go all goosey thinking of his tooth having to come out in bits :-S.I have a feeling the same thing happened with James when he had a wisdom tooth out.
That is good if OH thinks the exercises are helping his neck.I bought one of those Tempura ?Pillows. It weighs a blooming ton and cost a bomb but it is brilliant.I do find it holds the heat though ,but just turn it over.It just moulds to you and is so comfortable.I don't seem to to get the aches as much now in the mornings.Plus of course I think the new bed has helped too.Still waddle like a duck though when I get out of bed until my ankles loosen up LOL

Mel, I think Chris just bought himself some paper to paint on.He has all the brushes and pallets he needs now.

So not OH's Birthday today then Gill LOL I remember a couple of years ago we all wished David on here a Happy Birthday a MONTH early :-D

I had to laugh about the name of your shoes Jane , now that poor woman is going round the shops trying to find Kiwi shoes :-D :-D :-D
Sounds as if you enjoyed the day ,not so hot as last year .

Ann, that's good the district nurse is now going in to give MIL her injections ,at least you know that she is getting her right medication which might make her feel a little more comfortable .
Hope the visit to FIL went ok today .

Oh Mel you are having a good old turn out and chucking things away too !! you'll soon fill that shelf :-D

Just been out and watered but we should have thunder storms tonight so that will fill the water butts up.
I can now see some small toms on the plants ,with them being so green it's hard to see them under the leaves ,cucumbers are really growing i think i've picked ten mini ones and about six big ones .
We have some runners this year in the little walled garden behind my green house ,they are just coming into flower .

I meant to say about the little scruffy dog Ann, i bet that's his spot for the day looking at the fish !! my dad had a Norfolk Terrier called Basil :-D he had a coat like that little dog ,it felt all rough too, i always thought it looked and felt like he needed a good brush .

Sons mouth was still very sore when i spoke to him this afternoon, he doesn't know what to take for the pain because he takes Tramadol for his back pain and also an anti inflammatory tablet too , i told him to ring the doctor and ask what he could take but he said he'd be ok. :-S

I wondered if the memory foam pillow would hold the heat and hubby gets so hot in bed ,i wonder what those Gel pillows are like ?

Frank Report 16 Jul 2015 20:02

Evening all,

I started something didn't I. I thought Gills OHs birthday was three days before my son's, but it was TWO. Sorry folks !!!

Ann I tried the site, but nothing showed for him. I have rung his last known Telephone Number, but no response. So I will let sleeping dogs lie. :-( :-( :-(

Glad our "ARTIST" enjoyed her day out. What are you going to colour, children's books ??? lol Thst poor woman looking for "KIWI" Shoes. I bet your name will be mud !!!!

Mandy you made my toes curl, talking about your son's tooth. I bet he feels sorry for himself tonight. A nice drop of whiskey might help to take the discomfort away, if it doesn't he might not feel it so much.

Auntie Mel, has the cleaning bug as well. IT IS JULY GIRLS <3 <3 <3

I've had both knees playing up today together with my right hip. I think I will see about a bottom half transplant. It might put a bit of life into me :-D :-D :-D

I did manage to bring a barrow load of soil from one of the potato bags, to the front garden, which Ros has spread all around the beds. I also emptied another bag of potato's. I think I got around 5 lbs. That soil is now in the barrow to go where she wants it.

She has worked so hard again today. She was out there from 10.30 am till 5.30 pm. Worked longer hours than she did when she worked !!!!

I prepared a nice chicken for dinner tonight, with roasts, carrots and peas, cabbage and broad beans. I did a couple of parsnips for myself and forgot to peel them, they were as tough as old boots. Everything went in the D.W. so I didn't have to stand at the sink washing up.

Everywhere has been watered just in case we don't get the rain. tonight.

I expected to hear from Lewis this evening. He is of to France tomorrow. I'll get Ros to call him.

Annx Report 16 Jul 2015 20:12

Maybe he could try some of that bon*ela stuff you rub on your gums Mandy? I found that very good. So your hubby's hot in bed then!! lol. I have wondered about one of those Chillow pillows, not sure if they are gel ones. You are doing well with your cues, we have only had 2 yet. We've had about a dozen tomatoes though.

It sounds like you had a good day Jane and a nice lasagne too. Was it Perry Apple Juice or Vino to go with it? I bet it was Vino! I had a google and saw that some of the glass things were beautiful. I think the injections for MIL are anti sickness.

That is one of the bonuses Mel.......making room to put more things away. :-) I've done all the machining on the curtains now, just a bit of hand sewing at the corners to hold the linings in place which I can't face doing today. Then it's back to the study cupboards tomorrow.

FIL was fine in himself today but as is to be expected his mind is getting worse. Today he thought he had been in the home for a year and was telling OH he had been on tv and that OH was there too. OH told him MIL isn't likely to be at Hinckley much longer and will probably need to go to a hospital again. He seemed to accept that ok......but then said he would still need to go to Hinckley because of OH living there, so OH had to convince him he didn't live there any more!! Another chap has been admitted now and FIL seems to like him and chats to him. There were no tears today which is good and OH took him some more of his books and some chocolate which he liked.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 16 Jul 2015 22:33

So FIL likes his chocolate does he? He does seem to be more muddled now Ann. Nice that he has a new friend though and perhaps that will help with them chatting together. I wonder what stories he will tell him.

Signing out now so night night.

Gillx Report 16 Jul 2015 23:12

Just finished watching the Big Brother final with Sandra, the girl Sandra and I liked won, which was nice.

Oh Jane fancy getting the name of your shoes wrong, that poor woman. So have you started your colouring yet, now you have your new pencils? It sounds like you've had a lovely day out.

That's a shame Frank you couldn't get hold of your son's address or telephone number. You did make me laugh though saying you need a new bottom half of your body.

It looks like I've started a trend of spring cleaning in JULY.

I've got to clean the carpet in the back room, then everything can go in there. I'd rather clean it in a morning so it's dry before night. I've still got the front bedroom to finish. I was so tired earlier that I decided to finish it off tomorrow afternoon when OH is in work.

I didn't get round to making OH's cake as the cupboard took a lot longer than we thought, then it was tea time, so I'm going to make it tomorrow afternoon so it'll be done in time for OH getting in from work. He said he wouldn't want to eat any in the morning, so it's given me a bit more time to do it, plus it will be fresher to eat as well. If I had of made it today, chances are it would of been eaten before tomorrow anyway LOL

It does sound like FIL's illness is getting a little worse Ann, but there was no tears so that's good. I bet he loved the chocolate. It's good that your MIL is having the injections, at least you and your OH have peace of mind knowing she is getting her meds now.
You've been busy with your curtains, are they full length ones?

Sorry to hear about your son Mandy, hope he's feeling a bit better now. It did sound very painful. Glad to hear your OH's exercises are helping his neck. Hope you find a pillow that's suitable for him.

Keep going Mel, one cupboard at a time and it'll all soon be done ;-).

Signing out now, see you all tomorrow

We had a storm about eleven thirty last night and i thought that was bad but this was awful ,i don't mind storms usually but i must admit this last one really scared me .
Even poor Toby was scared and he's usually not that bothered.

Just made a cuppa as we are both wide awake now .

Morning all and evening Kim,

Gosh Mandy you were an early birds this morning. What is it with you all waking up with the larks. You should go to bed later then you would get up later.

Grey sky here today and we had a little fine rain last night before I went to bed.

I ache all over this morning from crawling in that cupboard yesterday. I can tell you it will be a long time till I do the other one but that is'nt as bad as yesterdays was as we had the overflow running outside where this cupboard is and it made it all a bit mouldy inside which is why I neede to do it.

When I got up this morning and looked out the window there was the big rabbit nibbling away at the chicken fencing. I banged on the window four times before it ran off up the field. Went to have a wee and took the solar lights back in the bedroom where I charge them up on the windowsill and blow me there in the middle of the field where two big rabbits grazing. I walked away in discust to make my tea.

I'am tired out this morning .

It's very awkward to get into those corner cupboards, i'am not surprised you ache this morning, you'll have to have an easier day Mel.
