Evening all,

We have in the garden most of the day it's been lovely out in the sun shine ,but the wind !! it took the garden brolly out of the pole ,it took off i had to shout to hubby to help as i couldn't hold on to it .
I had my chair in the shade and just sat watching the clouds and having a doze !!

Frank, it must have been horrible to find out about the wedding like that, we're all here for you ,glad you enjoyed your meal out ,it came at just the right time to get you out of the house for a while and have a nice chat with friends .

Gill, have you got a manhole in the garden ? can you see if it's blocked in there ? might just want some drain rods putting down to clear it .

Hope Ann and OH have had a couple of nice restful days ,these last few weeks have been all go for them .

We've tried the drain rods Mandy and it didn't work, infact the rain this morning cleared it better, so I think it's time to call the insurance before the winter gets here and we have rain everyday, I can't have the contents of the toilet coming up through the drains into the garden....Yuk

I've watched London's lost graveyards, OH came in just as it was finishing, I thought he'd like to watch it, so I recorded it. I'm about to watch it again with him. I missed a bit in the middle so I don't mind watching it again.

We watched that too. Then oh watched part of Humans and then went to bed and saw the end in there. I missed a boit going to shut the girls in and feed the hogs.

I could'nt get the youview box to work last night so oh had a look at it and tells me he has got it on. Well I could get it on last night but the screen went black before I had even selected my Country File. So after an hour of fiddling with it I watched a film.

It's wet outside here but it has'nt rained much unless the birds have drunk all the water collected in the bird bath as there is only a tiddle in there but the ground is wet.

So that puts paid to any gardening I had planned for today. I am not getting my poor little legs all wet creeping through the plants.

May go up the post office if I think of it on time before it leaves the village and see if they can at least give me my postage back.

Dry here today with a little sun.

Well, what a palaver I've had with the insurance company this morning. First of all the number on the paperwork was the wrong number then I was given another one but when I rang that there was a message with yet another number to ring. I finally got through and they've said someone will be in touch with me, but it's not an emergency so they couldn't say how long it will be.

I just hope we don't get heavy rain like yesterday, I don't fancy yet more toilet waste coming up through the drains onto my patio. They also said if the drain had broken it would be classed as wear and tear so I wouldn't be covered.........So much for insurance, they take your money and then when you try to make a claim they try everything they can to get out of fixing any problems you have.

Makes me wonder why I bother to get insurance in the first place. Let's hope it's just a blocked drain as they can fix that. One good thing I noticed, it's only £50 excess not £100 as I first thought :-D.

Sorry to hear you have wet weather Mel, let's hope it dries up for you so you can go into your garden.

I don't know if anyone watched "VERA" but it's back on this Wednesday 22nd on ITV 8pm-10pm. I think I remember someone saying they watch it. Sandra watches it and has just mentioned it to me, so I thought I'd let you all know.

I wonder if Ann and her OH had a nice weekend.....Hope they did, they deserve it after everything they've been through lately.

I forgot to say Mel, Sandra had problems with her set top box yesterday, so maybe it's the weather. She's checked it today and everything is back to normal. Hope yours is too.

just had a phone call from the insurance. They have moved it up to an emergency and are sending someone out to us this afternoon.

It's just started raining, luckily it's only light rain at the moment but if it turns heavy like yesterday there's going to be even more mess to contend with. I hope they can fix it today and not leave us waiting for a few days.

These leaks and blocked drains. How's you leak Jane, has the new collar/washer done the trick ?? It's good the insurance is taking things in hand Gill (Not literally) lol lol. Who knows by this afternoon you might be all clear.

So much for a good nights sleep. I was in bed by 10.45 and still awake at 1.00 am. I woke at 5.00 and laid looking at the clock every half hour. When I thought I was dropping off, ROS got up and disturbed me. So I got up. Still in my dressing gown feeling like a "WET WEEK"

Madam decided it would be nice to have "HOCK AND PEAS" tonight. So I went to the big freezer in the garage to get it out. After empting the whole Bloody lot onto the garage floor, it wasn't in there. We do have enough JOINTS in there to feed the whole Close TWICE OVER :-D :-D :-D I just loaded it all back into the freezer, so will have to search next time I want anything in there. :-( :-( :-( I then came in and went through the freezer in the kitchen, WOULD you believe I FOUND IT. Again I just packed everything back and will have to sort it as and when. !!!!

Gill, I always watched "VERA" Brenda Bleseth (sp) is such a good actress and suits the part well.

Ros and Carolyn are out to Matala#. They have a big sale on, so they need to "BLACK" their noses <3 <3 <3 From there I bet it will be to the Garden Centre for lunch.

Not a very pleasant morning here, very cloudy and the breeze is quite strong.

I should do the back lawn, but I will see how I feel after my shower.

Still no sign of Will's little parcel then. You never know it might turn up. My accountant's papers never arrived, and I am still waiting for the forms from HMRC. I hope they aren't to long coming as the return has to be in by Sept.

Well, it's all go here today, I've just had a phone call off the estate agent someone wants to view TODAY needless to say I've had to explain to the agent about the drains and said I can't do the viewing but to ring me back tomorrow I'll know more by then. Oh and I asked him not to let the viewers know about the drains.

Sandra and I have been trying to watch the shed programs but my phone keeps going so it's taking us ages just to get through one of them. We were hoping to watch them all today. I saw the little 4ft X2ft one ........How cute. That's the one we're watching now so don't know who's won yet.

Better get back to it, all I need now is the insurance to ring before it ends, but I don't mind that phone call LOL

I went to the post van this morning and said about the parcel and they have given me a number to ring and a form to fill out.

Thats not really the point as Ican't replace the thing that is lost. I do wish I had sent it registered or recorded now. You live and learn.

We have that horrid fine rain in the air today. The stuff that gets on your glasses so you can't see properly. Not enough to put a coat on to go outside but when you come in you feel all dampy.

The little 2ftx4ft shed won the unique category that's the one I liked. Now to the second part of the program. it took us over an hour to watch the first part, let's see how long it takes us to watch the program to the end LOL.

It could take us all day to watch them all and there's only another two 1 hour programs to watch when this one finishes LOL. So long as I end up with unblocked drains by the end of the day I don't mind how long the programs take to watch :-D :-D.

What a muggy day.No sun just thick cloud .If feels quite sticky.
Our toilet is fine now Frank.Just got to keep an eye on the overflow pipe from the hot tank.
Gill thank goodness they are sending someone today.You really can't be left with sewerage water around.Health and safety and all that).Hopefully they wil be with you soon and sort what ever is causing the trouble.

Mel how disappointing about the parcel.You never know it might just have got temporarily lost and will turn up in the end.

it is the Vet day today for Microchipping and Vaccination for you know who.I must make sure he doesn't go out now as the appointment is at 2.The cat carrier is in the table all ready.Not sure how easy it will be to get him in :-S :-S

Hope we hear from Ann today.Maybe they decided to go away for the weekend and have a bit of relaxation.

Muggy here too today, it's cloudy but the sun keeps peeping through the cloud and then it feels really hot .

Gill, that's good the people are coming to have a look this afternoon ,you carn't have sewerage just laying in the garden ,especially if its a hot day and i would have thought they would have classed that as an emergency ,i hope they can get you all sorted this afternoon .

Oh so it's Thomas 's day for the vet ,i wonder what he will think of that !! :-D hope it's not to much of a struggle getting him in the cat carrier .

It's a shame about the parcel not turning up, perhaps it got put in the wrong bag and it's gone for a holiday abroad some where :-0

When we got up this morning our back gate was open !! we had a check but couldn't see any thing moved or taken ,we have a bolt on the top that we always keep across during the day you just have to get your hand over the top of the gate to open it ,then at night we have a bolt on the bottom of the gate ,hubby thought he had bolted the bottom but perhaps he didn't .
Then blow me when i went to the front door the front gate was open too!! some one playing silly bu**ers i suppose ,we'll just have to keep an eye out ,you never know if its some one just having a look though to see what you've got then come back another time to pinch some thing !!

Better get some more jobs done now .

Mel, just to say, no post at all today, so sorry I can't come up with a miracle.
Carmel's friend Jenny called in this morning with a pack of socks for me (a man can't have too many socks!) and a lovely solar crystal thingy to hang out in our garden. It's got a metal spiral thingy around it and it changes colour. Better photograph it, I'm sure you all think I've gone doolally describing it :-D

Did anyone get my emails yet? I didn't see anyone mention them so I'm wondering if I did everything OK.

Work to do on my computer now that Carmel's gone for her afternoon rest.

Rain here now, Glad I decided not to mow the lawn, as water and electric don't mix :-( :-(

Very muggy indoors even with the windows open.

I have put the HOCK in boiling water and it's just ticking along. The peas have been soaked and drained ready for the saucepan later this evening. Spuds all done for the mash. I am quite looking forward to it tonight, we haven't had it for ages. Ros's M & D did that every Saturday lunchtime, and boy did we tuck in. !!!

Any news on the drains yet Gill ??

Jane if Thomas is anything like "My friend" was, you will have one hell of a job getting him in the basket. I remember when we moved from Gayton to here. We got him in the basket and into the car. By the time we got here (5 minutes) he was out and running round the car like a mad thing. I manages to grab him by the scruff of the neck and get him into the bungalow.

Back fro the vets.He was a very good boy indeed :-D :-D.....well I say that ,when we got in after he had a lie down on the cool tiles he went out ,and under the hedge while I got thwe washing in.Only came out with half a cold,stiff rabbit :-S :-S.I know it must have been under the hedge as I could hear Thomas's bell...Who suggested he has a stash????.I think he might lol....Maybe he finds these corpses and just brings them back and leaves them there.
