I forgot to say, I finally finished watching the shed programs last night, but didn't agree with the winner, I thought the owl shed was the best and a really good idea for the woman to be able to see the beach and keep warm at the same time.
Haven't seen Outcast yet, so hope to watch it this afternoon.
Off to sort these cupboards and draws out now, see you all later <3

Sorry Jane just noticed your question, yes displacement means the sections of drain have moved and are no longer in line with each other, but that could be counted as wear and tear so if it is I won't be covered by the insurance and will have to pay for a liner to be put through the drains so everything flows correctly again.
If the liner doesn't go in then there's a chance stuff can get caught in between the sections of drain that are out of place and we'll end up with another blockage.....Hope it doesn't cost to much. Hopefully the liner can be put in at the same time the drain rods are being taken out, I'll ask the insurance to put the liners in but we'll have to cover the cost if they won't cover us.
Right, I'm definitely going to make a start on these cupboards and draws now, or they'll never get done :-D :-D.

I don't think I'm meant to get these cupboards sorted today, I've just had a phone call off the drain people. Apparently the video they took yesterday didn't record so they're on their way round here now to do it again

Morning all and evening Kim,
O Gill your not having much luck with your drain situation are you. Another visit now. Can't they check to see if it has taken pics before they go away?
Bit windy here thsi morning and the sky has white grey and blue patches. It's shopping day.... Bah humbug..................
Fancy G forgetting what trousers he had on yesterday and the key to the shed being in them!! At least you did'nt have to ruin the shed door in the end Ann. Makes you cross though wasting all that time looking for the blimmin thing, dos'nt it?

Morning/Evening All
Gill I hope they check before they leave now that the video has worked this time :-D :-D
Ann,MIL is sounding very poorly now with her infections and swollen legs etc. That must have been very frustrating for OH to-ing and fro-ing to get all her Tablets. What a great idea for that garden to have a massive water tank underground like that. it would be a perfect idea for anyone with a larger garden.
One of the big panes of glass has fallen out of the frame.it is just hanging at the moment.Good job it didn't smash especially if Chris had been in there at the time (as it has fallen inwards. He said the clips have all gone brittle so will have t o get some and replace them all now.
Washing ready to go out ,and then one more lot to go in.

It was lucky the pane of glass didn't fall on Chris, wouldn't it be safer to take it down completely until he can get the clips in case it falls? Hope it's sorted soon.
It's gone a bit cloudy now and the wind is picking up, I think we might get some rain later by the looks of it and it's not very warm either.
The fella has just gone but I'm a bit confused on what he was saying. Apparently both our drain and next doors go into each other, the drain rods are on the neighbours side and there are also roots next door too, which mean the insurance won't sort it out for us, it's up to next door to sort it out either via united utilities or maybe their own insurance.
He mentioned some law which means they have to get it done. If they don't do it then our side will block again. So that's the front of the property, then at the back there is some problems there so the insurance might cover that part, but it means taking up a section of our lawn. All I can do is wait to hear from the insurance as to what the problems are that they may or may not fix. I'm quite confused now :-S :-S.
I assume the video recorded today, I left him to it but I'm sure he'll have checked. I did manage to sort out one of my cupboards while he was working, so I'm moving onto the next one now.

Morning all, evening Kim,
I don't know what's happened, but every time I come on the thread, I have to sign in. It all goes back to page ONE. and I start again !!!
Glad you found the key Ann. I must have three or four padlocks lying around without keys, where they have gone I don't know. I do hope MIL isn't suffering too much. That's the last thing Gordon needs
That's a bit of a pain Gill the drain people having to come back. Can't you have a word with them, to see if they can word their report in your favour and save you any expense. It might be worth dropping them a few BOB !!!! There is always around these insurance companies :-D :-D :-D
So Aunty Mel if off to the shops again. Don't over do it and start lugging too much around with your bad back. !!!
Have just watched the bin men empty the food bins, they empty the contents into the cart, and just throw the small bin on the ground. Who will have to pay for a replacement if they SMASH THEM. Me, out of my Council Tax.
It's cloudy here at the moment BUT DRY. so I think I will get some shorts on and get the back lawn cut. Then I can get showered and shaved.
Hope CHRIS can save the glass Jane, and it will go back without to much trouble.

Yes plastic degrades in the sunlight so always keep an eye on those clips Jane and have some spares handy indoors. It could have been nasty if it fell on poor Chris. I take it it was in the greenhouse as you did'nt say.
Gill so it was your neighbour who got the rods stuck in the drain then? Roots can cause a lot of damage to drains if they have trees or large shrubs near them.
As you can see I hav'nt got out yet!!

Well we had fabulous evening. The food was excellent and we didn't have to pay for anything! not even a round of drinks!! In was so generous of them and all past difficulties have been finally forgotten, and we're all determined to keep it that way. Today we're having a quiet day, as tomorrow daughter and the children are here and that'll be anything but peaceful!!! I've given the cooker a good clean, not before time!! and washed the kitchen floor, so I feel a bit virtuous!! Gill you've had such a good turn out you put me to shame! I'm afraid my cupboards and drawers have been opened and firmly shut again!! Cas is playing with an old leather glove! I think she thinks she's stolen it and is determined that neither of us can have it!! She is such a sweet little girl, and so good yesterday when we left her. I think we've been very lucky with her as her breed can be a bit manic!!! Oh dear Ann, I am sorry about your in laws. I have a friend who has been living with cancer for years, but is now quite ill. It's such a bi##h of a disease and the day it gets cracked will truly be champagne time. Gill I do hope your drains get sorted! We had a similar problem at our old house, with roots growing into our drains from trees and bushes our neighbours had planted! Along with other problems, it caused no end of trouble and we were just thankful when we moved!!

Yes Liz I remember all the trouble you went through. I think I offered to come down and sort them out if I remember correctly. So pleased that Cas is a good girl, and that you can leave her on her own when you go out.
I bet you are pleased you have sorted your differences with your son. IF ONLY I could, it would make my old age a lot better. I hate things like this especially as I don't know what caused it. !!!!
Ros is doing the hanging baskets this morning, I think once they are done she will be finished re-planting. But I bet she will find something else to do. She does love her garden. I have cut the back lawn, got my foot caught in the cable and tripped myself up :-D :-D :-D I only feel on my knees, so didn't hurt myself.
Glad you are a bit better FIONA. "keep taking the tablets" lol
The wind is really getting up here now. plant pots are flying off the patio table and ending up on the lawn. !!!
Mel don't confuse me ;-) ;-) ;-) It's hard enough to do what I do now, without "BOOKMARKS" etc.
The way things are going you won't get shopping today. There's always tomorrow !!!
I have with Ros's help made a Lasagne for tonight. I forgot to put the mushrooms in it. So Ros cooked some separately and added to the mix. She then layered up the dish and finished it off. So nice and easy for tonight. She will do a salad later.
Is that glass back in now Jane. Where had it fallen from ??? We have little wire clips that hold the glass in the greenhouse. I do keep a little pot in the shed with spares. (IF I COULD FIND THEM IF NEEDED) :-D :-D :-D Would no doubt go out and buy more.
Val's son (next door) has built her a raised bed at the bottom of the steps in her garden. It's about EIGHT FOOT LONG by three foot wide. I keep referring to it as the "COFFIN" So If she goes missing anytime soon I will know where to look :-D :-D :-D

Afternoon All,
Another lovely sunny one here but with a nice fresh breeze. I did some shopping earlier while OH took piles of stuff into the garage to shred in his new best friend!! lol :-) I got a nice thin blue T shirt, flecked with white only £4.50 and I'm wearing it now! Then we went to the fav carvery and now OH is visiting his mum. He wants to try and get some idea how long she will be in hospital if possible so that if it's to be more than another week we could book a 3 day break possibly to see the East Runton Gardens in Norfolk and get some nice sea air. That wouldn't be too far to get back quickly if necessary and would recharge our batteries.
Frank, what I do to get to the end of the thread is click on 'POST DATE' at the top right hand side. That takes you to the beginning of the thread. Then click on it again and it takes you to the last page. I have 2 raised beds 3 foot wide. They are much easier on the back to weed and plant.
What a shame you have this drain trouble Gill. It's going to make a bit of a mess of your lawn to sort it, but at least they should put it all back afterwards. I'm about to start on the rest of the photos now, so hope I don't get too distracted looking at them. Basically I'm just fishing out and destroying the really bad ones and ones where I look a fright!! Then there are too many of the garden over the years that I can thin down. I should get the bottom cupboards done in here today too so will then be able to tidy up and hoover the paper bits off the carpet.

Yes I remember Frank! You were going to post some fishheads through their letter box while they were away on holiday!! I sometimes wish I'd take you up on that!!! I've been trying to edit some photo's on my Kindle this afternoon!! I THINK I've cracked it, but I'm not awfully sure how I did it if you know what I mean!! I shall have to have another dummy run!! I do feel sorry for you Frank over your son, and you too Mel. My SIL has the same difficulty with her daughter. Problems blew up out of the blue and are now iresolvable. Luckily her daughter moved to Australia about four years ago (you can't get much further!!) so it's not quite so bad for her now, but even so it's a real heartache at Christmas, birthdays etc as there are grandchildren who are virtually strangers.

Phew it's warm now.Mnd you I have been cooking Yes cooking :-D.I have finally made these Raspberry and Ricotta Hot cakes. They are like glamorous pancakes and thicker. Why couldn't I get them all into nice round shapes :-S.My kitchen is full of dirty bowls and frying pans now ,but I had to come and sit by tthe fan for a bit. Jess had used all the castor sugar so I had to hot foot it down to Fitz for just 50gms lol
The glass pane is back up now(thankfully in one piece ).Chris has ordered some new clips so will make sure all the others are secure. it is a 6 or 8 sided Greenhouse which is why it is an odd shaped pane.Just the thought of what might have happened gives me the shivers.
LOL Frank .I like the'Coffin'
:-D :-D We are having Lasagne too tonight,as I made far too much yesterday.
Ann from how you describe MIL I don't think she will be going home any day soon, and if she does would she not need 24 hr care? I reckon you would be quite safe to be able to have a few days away at the moment. Is that Garden the one Fitz went to? The one run by the 2 Gay men?If it is it looks amazing.
Liz ,seems like a great evening last night :-D,plus problems smoothed out too ,even better :-D..I bet Cassie just slept the whole time you were out.I think I forgot to send you the photo of the glass in the greenhouse .Will do it now.
Fiona that is great your head has improved now with the increased dose.Fingers crossed it won't flare up again now.You will not be wanting that ,especially with the Grandchildren on holiday .
Ann I'm going to clear up te kitchen and then have a look at your pics :-D
Gill I am confused too :-S.It is all sounding a bit of a bigger problem than you thought. But if it is the neighbours responsiblity to get their side sorted that might take some of the pressure off you. I think we have a drain out the front where next doors joins it.
Kitchen here I come :-S

I'm back and all unpacked and I bought three plastic boxes to go in the corner cupboard so I am pleased with those only £9.99 for the three. I also bought another set of four solar lights as I can't get some of my old ones to work so they can now be thrown away. I shan't know myself soon with all this chucking out!! :-0 :-0
Nice to know Fiona is feeling better on the new stronger meds. Sending love Fiona and how's your hand doing?? <3 <3 <3
We have a mini lamb roast for dinner tonight with tenderstream brocc carrots parsnips and roasties and I may even do puds too.
It has turned out really nice today with a good breeze. Oh has been mowing and has brought down the BIG granit stone roller from up the top. Now he is wondering what to do with it.
So the carvery was on today then Ann. Bet you were pleased. Do you think they have started it again now the children are breaking up from school and visitors will be around.
I am now going to corn the chickens and see if I can get a couple of plants in the border.

I don't know why Jane but I thought the glass has come down in your conservatory (that's if you have one LOL) not the greenhouse as you didn't say. It looked dangerous and Chris was very lucky he wasn't in there at the time. Has he fixed it now?
I love the pictures you've sent Ann, aren't the hedges great?
I'm glad the fella had to come back for the drains today Frank as he told me more than he did yesterday. It's still a bit confusing though.
I've spent most of the afternoon looking up sewers online and found out that our sewer is a section 24 sewer, these are a special category of sewer and are public sewers provided they meet certain conditions and ours do. The conditions are.......There must be more than one property connected to the sewer, the properties must have been occupied prior to 1st October 1937, (the property was built before then) and must have been in separate ownership at that time.
Because it's a public sewer then it's the Water boards responsibility, so I didn't need to go to the insurance in the first place.
Never mind at least it's clean now and only cost £50 and if the insurance refuse to do the work then my neighbour can contact the Water board and have the drain rods removed from her side which will hopefully help the drains from blocking again.
I asked the fella when he came back today who I paid the £50 to. He said it wasn't him and that I'll probably be invoiced by who ever I do have to pay.
The Estate Agent rang back before and we have a viewing booked in for Saturday. The couple are under offer so you never know they may want this place and we can leave all these problems behind us. Like I said at least the drains aren't blocked on our side anymore so we've done all we can for now.
I'm glad I've done all the sorting out lately. If we do get a buyer I haven't got much left to sort out and pack now, so that's good ;-). The only big job left to do is the garage and that's mostly OH's. I only ended up sorting out one cupboard today, but the other cupboards aren't very big so shouldn't take long to do.
Going to sort dinner out now <3

My boxes fit in the cupboard a treat which means I can get more stuff off the worktops. I may get another pack as they also fit in the other cupboards so I will be able to see whats right at the back now I can't bend so well. Why did'nt I think of these before?? instead of hurting my knees every time I want something in the back. Now I can just pull the box out and see whats hiding there. I bet there is a load of out of date tins at the back. If it is stuff I can cook up for the chickens it dos'nt go to waste!! and they think they have a treat too. :-D :-D :-D

Evening all,
Phew hot here too, hubby has had a day off today ,we haven't done much really ,a bit of shopping this morning and after lunch we both nodded off :-D i think we are both still tired after our disturbed night when we had the storms .
Well i don't know fancy OH forgetting what trousers he had on ,at least the key has turned up now it's so annoying when you know you've had it and carn't for the life of you find it !! Ann do you mean The Ruston Gardens at The old Vicarage ? i've never been but they do say it's well worth a look. It's a devil poor OH having to go back to get MIL's tablets ,i think they like you to take your own tablets so they don't have to use theirs at the hospital, i know when BIL went in he had to take his own tablets in and they were put in a little safe in his room and dished out to him each day . You've been to some lovely gardens,
At least you know now Gill what the problem is with the drains ,sounds as if its more your neighbours problem than yours though, it's probablly all backing up from your neighbours ,what are your neighbours like ? do you think they will have their drains done ?
Glad you enjoyed your meal last night Liz and that Cassie was a good girl while you were out . Did they like the egg cups you bought ?
Gosh Jane that could have been nasty if that glass had fallen while some one was in there ,it had a nasty looking point to it !! :-0 :-0
Glad the tablets are helping Fiona , is Katherine enjoying her new job ?
Frank ,i do the same as Ann to get on the thread . Ros is a busy bee with all these plants ,i hope you keep her supplied with plenty of drinks :-D
Shopping day again Mel, i can see what you will be doing tomorrow ,filling the three boxes , they work well in the cupboards ,i have one of those boxes on wheels that i keep my sewing machine in ,i can easily push it in the cupboard under the stairs .
Son has been to the dentist again today he should have had a filling but he has been in pain since he had the tooth extracted ,the dentist numbed him up and cleaned the hole where the tooth came out and has now packed it with gauze :-S the gauze should disolve and he has to go back next week to have the filling . They had to take Chelsea to the hospital this morning about her tooth ,the big teeth are not pushing the baby tooth out so she now has to have the baby tooth out to let the big tooth to come through ,and looking on the xray she had son said you could see the baby teeth are making the big tooth come through on the slant :-0 once they get the baby tooth out they will then see what can be done to straighten the big tooth .
Earlier there was this almighty bang !! sounded just like two gun shots ,hubby thought he saw a blue flash too so goodness knows what that was !! i wondered if it was a car back firing .

We don't have a conservatory Gill :-D.I would like one but it would be too hot (facing south). My friends have one down the road and find they just can't sit in it because it is too hot. Mandy your poor son is having a right old do with his 'taken out tooth'.It sounds so painful . Hannah had the same kind of trouble as Chelsea .She actually ended up having (I think 13 baby teeth out to let the big ones come through. It wasn't as awful as it sounds as it was done in stages. She then had the braces for about 18 months and now has a great set of teeth :-D Have you found out what the Big Bang was????
