Oh poor Hannah i hope Chelsea doesn't have to have that many out :-0
No we don't know what the bangs were ,i thought it was some one shooting at first ,all sorts go through your head when you here things like that !!

Jane Report 21 Jul 2015 20:55

Mandy ,Hannah's teeth weren't all taken out at the same.It was a gradual process and it was ok.Her mouth was over crowded with baby teeth that didn't let the adult ones come through properly. I think she was probably about 11 when she started to have them out.It is so long ago now I can't really remember .But I am so thankful that it was done .So is she :-D.She actually had a tooth in the front, where 2 teeth grew up joined together.

I never seem to have trouble getting on the thread.I click on the Childhood Memory one and then it takes me to the first post when Mel started (about it being scrubbed out twice).I then just click on ' Post Date ' and it brings me staight on to the last post.

I think I will sign off now for tonight..I need matchsticks to keep my eyes open :-S

I hope Chelsea gets on ok at the dentist having her baby tooth out. Is it just the one or are they all doing it?

Poor son Mandy has he been in pain all the time since he had that tooth out? Must have been awful for him, nothing worse than toothache.

She is young enough for them to straighten on their own I should have thought.

Ann I never mentioned about the lovely garden pics you sent. I liked the horse on the hedge but their legs were a bit wrong but still very effctive. I wonder if we coud do that with the box hedge?

My neighbour is a 96 year old lady Mandy. I feel bad that it's her drive that might have to be taken up and not ours, I wish it was the other way around, she's not very good at walking and is very unstable on her legs, I'd feel awful if she was to fall, but the only way they can get to the drain rods is through her drive and to make matters worse she has a double layer of flag stones as the previous people put the new flag stones on top of the old ones which look as if they were laid on concrete so it's going to be a big job and will take a while to sort out. I just hope she doesn't have a fall as she's already had a fall a few years ago and broke her hip. It looks like she might end up having to stay indoors until the job has been done.

Sorry to hear your son is still having problems from when he had his tooth out and poor Chelsea too, hope they can straighten her big tooth.

I think I'm getting flu I'm aching all over, at first I thought it was because I moved lots of heavy furniture but now I feel worse and can't seem to get rid of a headache I've had for the last few days, so I've taken a Lems*p and I'm going to bed, I've got the shivers and feel awful. Hope I feel a bit better tomorrow.

Hope frank had a better night.

Frank Report 22 Jul 2015 11:02

Morning all, evening Kim,

Don't ask Mel. Still awake at 2.00 am then woke at 5.00 with CRAMP. I was in a dream where I was with Brother Bill. Someone said "BACKS STRAIGHT PLEASE" I stretched and that's when the cramp came. What a job I had getting out of bed to find a cold floor. !!! So that finished me for the night. My calf feels like I have been kicked by a horse (Not that I ever have been) but you know what I mean ??I was drinking tea by 6.00 am

Gill the headache could be the pressure of recent happenings. What with the furniture moving and the Insurance problem about the drains. It all has effect on your nerves, and stress is certainly a downer. Regarding the OLD LADY. Could she not go and stay with someone while the work is carried out ?? or she could make sure she stays away from the back garden.

Lewis had lots of trouble with his baby teeth. He had too many so they had to be removed to let the big teeth through. He now has a brace, and a fine set of "GNASHERS" The brace should co0me out next year.

He's off to France this afternoon until the end of August. We got on to him about not getting sun burnt. I see Spain and France have very high Temperatures coming this week.

Horrible dark morning here, so much cloud. I think we are in for some wet weather before long. My silly neighbour has just put a line of washing out. If it rains, it will stay there. It's been known for the washing to be on the line for UP TO THREE DAYS .

Showered and shaved last night before bed, so just a wash down this morning and into my shorts.

Jan Skyped yesterday. She was bringing Ella home last night. Ella has been sick with a bad tummy, not wanting to eat or drink. So she thought the best place for her was at home with her MUM. She will go back to Spain next week, for a few more weeks. !!!

JANE I picked about 2 lbs of runners last nigh, so if you are this way, call in and I will give you a couple to get your taste buds going :-P :-P :-P ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3

Gillx Report 22 Jul 2015 11:16

Morning all

Sunny here today, but not very warm.

I'm feeling a bit better today Mel, I had a good nights sleep for the first time in quite a while so I think that helped. Still got my headache but that could be down to the problems I've had with the drains and not knowing what's going to happen next. Hopefully I'll hear from the insurance soon.

I'm busy trying to sort this place out ready for the viewing on Saturday. I'm seeing my mum tomorrow and I'm speaking with Michelle online on Friday so I only really have today to do the hovering and polishing. Sandra said she'd help me which was nice of her, but if I take things slowly I should be able to do it on my own as I think Sandra wants to catch up with all her programs.

I was hoping to touch up the paint work in the kitchen today but my OH has forgotten to get me the paint out and I don't know where about it is in the garage. (We've still got to sort the garage out as only OH knows where everything is LOL) so I can't do that, but to be honest with my headache I didn't fancy doing it anyway.

It's only the door frame that needs doing so I'm sure OH will do the first coat for me later when he gets in from work, then he can leave me the paint out for me to do the second coat tomorrow morning. I'm so glad I've done most of the sorting out, there's only small amounts to do now and I've sorted out one of the small draws in our bedroom this morning so only have one more small draw to do then that room is finished and there's not much left to do in the living room. So hopefully everything will be finished soon as there'll only be the kitchen left to do and we've already done the cupboard under the sink, so don't have many cupboards left to do as it's a small kitchen.

Hope you start feeling less achy soon Mel.

Did you know Jane you can still have a conservatory but instead of having a glass roof you can have a normal one? That may make the conservatory less hot, you can always put blinds up on the windows too if it's really sunny. I think they are called orangeries not conservatories. Might be worth looking into if you've always wanted one.

I'm going to get a cuppa now, I'm very thirsty lately.

Didn't see your post there Frank, sorry to hear you didn't get a good nights sleep, hope your leg feels better soon. Yes I think you're right about my headaches it probably is the drains and all the sorting I've been doing lately, it's been a bit stressful to say the least and now the viewing to do as well. At least the shivers have gone now so that's good.

Hope Lewis enjoys his trip to France and poor Ella feels better soon <3

Going to get my drink now

What a job getting on the web today, every site seems to takes ages to get open.

Spotting with rain here. Ros has a machine load to go out, but I have told her to wait until it brightens up a bit.

I am so bored, sitting around reading. I should make an effort to get out for a walk, if my legs would let me. But at the moment I wouldn't trust them. ;-) ;-)

Any plans for today girls ???

Gillx

Gillx Report 22 Jul 2015 15:55

Sorry to hear your bored Frank, hope you found something to do. How is your calf now? Did you manage to go for your walk?

Well, the saga of the drains continues, I got a call from the people who came to clear the drains and they have rang the water board for me to sort out the stuck drain rods, so now I'm waiting for the water board to turn up sometime between now and 3pm tomorrow. They want to put a camera down there now to see if what the first people found is true, then when the water board see them they will book in the job to remove them.

I'm now being told the drain rods are on our side so it looks like our driveway at the front will need digging up. Then once that is done and the drain rods have been removed and the drive put back I have to ring the original people back to book them in to sort out round the back. They are saying that they can remove the blockage and put in a liner without having to dig up our lawns, so that's good. So long as the story doesn't change yet again. :-S.

I'm still confused, with the story changing all the time, so I've asked the original people to email me the report they are going to send to the insurance in the hope that things may become clearer. I'm still waiting for the email.

So that's been my day so far. If the drive has to be dug up before the weekend then I'll have to cancel the viewing we've booked for Saturday.
Why can't things be straight forward and less complicated? Is there any need for the same job (the camera) to be done three times? If it's been recorded why don't the water board just watch the recording....It seems quite silly to me and such a waste of time.

I was suppose to be going to see my mum tomorrow, doubt that will happen now.
I've nominated mum for a garden makeover on a website online, as a surprise for her. Not sure if it'll happen, I just have to wait to see if I hear anything back from them.

Off to sort dinner out now, I just hope the water board don't turn up just as we're about to eat.....Isn't that what normally happens LOL. I thought we'd eat a bit earlier today, just in case.

Gill are you drinking enough as dehydration can cause headaches too you know. You said in a post that your very thirsty lately. Just a thought but worth a try.

You are having trouble with those drains Gill, you'de really think they would get their finger out and do the job quickly where drains are concerned.

I have tied up my clematis over the gazebo thing outside the back door. It has really grown very long this year and so has the one in the small pot up the other side. Tied that one in too. It has'nt reached this length before and it's been there years.

Must go and change my solar lights round to the other window in the bedroom. They are the ones I put in the hall and bathroom at night so we can see if we get up in the night otherwise it is pitch black.

Jane Report 22 Jul 2015 17:10

Afternoon All

Like you Frank I have had real trouble getting on here today.I gave up in the end.Hopefully things are sorted now.

Oh Gill what a performance this is with the drains.I wonder if the next video might be a bit more in depth one for the water board.I wonder how one minute you are told the rods are on your neighbours side and then the next it's your side :-S :-S
I'm sure your headache and shiveryness is all to do with the stress of it all.
I do feel so sorry that you are having all this to deal with now,and the elderly lady next door.It would be extremely disturbing for her if she has to have her driveway dug up.Not that it will be any less disturbing for you .I would hope that she has maybe a family member who would be able to have her to stay while any work is being done.

Mel i think that is such a good idea having those solar lights for the hall and bathroom.
I can imagine how dark it is where you are.

So Lewis is of to France for a month.Lucky boy :-DDoes he enjoy being away for so long Frank,or does he miss his pals? His teeth will be great when the braces come off.
I hate to think what Hannahs would be like if she hadn't had all those baby teeth out and then her braces.I think Chris had overcrowded teeth. They still are really. He has to see the Hygienist every 3 months as it is hard for him to get in between the teeth even with these little brush things.

Our new TV was here and all set up before 9am today !!!!!!.You should have seen me and Chris trying to take in what the man was telling us LOL Chris said he probably realised he was talking to 2 complete Bafoons !!!!!
I will get James to sit down with me over the weekend so he can go through how to do everything :-D It is nice now to have screen that doesn't flicker, and the HD programmes are really bright and clear :-D

Chris is going to London tomorrow and then meeting Hannah for a meal early evening .I think i will pick him up from the station about 9.30pm.Unless James does it :-D
Fitz is coming here for lunch. He is bringing a Quiche and I have a variety of Tapas dishes. He was very down in the dumps yesterday :-(..When I was there I could here a hissing noise somewhere .I said it sounded like water.
He had only forgotten to turn the outside tap off after he had hosed the garden. He had turned the hose bit off but not the tap ,and the pessure had blown the hose off the tap.
It had been going for 6 HOURS !!!!!!!!!!!..it looked like a swimming pool out on the terrace :-S :-S :-S

MillymollyAmanda Report 22 Jul 2015 18:23

Evening all,

It hasn't been a bad day really, still muggy ,it did cloud over a bit and we had a few spots of rain but it wasn't enough to wet the ground .

Oh Gill what a job these drains are ,you would think that if they can put a camera down they would be able to also put one of those grab things down at the same time and grab hold of the end of the rods and just pull them out , it would save having to have all the drive dug up .
Hope your feeling better now ,i think you might have been doing to much and the problem with the drains hasn't helped .

You are having some sleepless nights Frank, you need to get down the pub and have a few pints like you did the other week you had a good nights sleep that night .
I woke with cramp in my leg early this morning i had to push on my heel to shift it ,it does leave the back of your leg feeling really sore .

That's a good idea using those solar lights in the bungalow at night Mel , i can imagine how dark it must be were you are out in the wilds , i bet the stars look lovely on a clear night , we never see the stars at their best here because of the street lights .

Oh my goodness Jane poor Fitz losing all that water !! is he on a water meter ? :-0

How big is the new tele ? the flickering on the old one must have been annoying ,it couldn't have been good for your eyes .
We have to have son to show us how to use new things like that ,the people who install these things run over the working of them so quickly i can never take it all in .

When i went shopping i bought the children some crayons and colouring books and i also nipped into Wilkin*ons ,boy did i get a bargain in there , four pencil cases for 10p each :-D
I called in to see the family and drop the things off and the children were arguing already and this is only the first day of the school holiday !!! :-0

Jane

Jane Report 22 Jul 2015 18:53

ooh Mandy just the first day of the holidays and arguments and 4 of them too !!!!
Bet your DIL is already counting the days down before school starts again LOL
Hopefully the crayons and books will keep them happy for a while.

I think the TV is 40'' (might be 42") can't find a tape measure :-S.It is plenty big enough.James says he is impressed with the one we chose(and he is normally very critical :-S)..
I think Chris and I must have looked like 2 idiots .But as you say they go through the instructions so fast.I suppose they have to get on to the next delivery.Maybe in 12months time I might have got the hang of things.James has a Netflix account we have that too.(not sure what the heck it is :-S)No doubt he will explain
:-D

Don't forget "VERA" starts tonight 8pm on ITV for anyone who wants to watch it. You said you were interested Frank ;-).

I drink quite a lot Mel, so I don't think it's that, I think it's the stress of the drains and knowing this place is on the market with a viewing booked for Saturday. Cancelling viewing's isn't giving a good impression. The water board haven't turned up yet, so it looks like it might be tomorrow now.

You did well Mandy, 4 pencil cases for 10p each.....Bargain. So it's six weeks of arguing for the children now, let's hope your presents calm them down a bit :-D :-D.

What a good idea Mel, having solar lights, it saves any nasty accidents in the night

Let's hope Fitz isn't on a water meter otherwise it's going to cost him a pretty penny having his outside tap running for 6 hours. Have you had your glass fixed yet Jane? I know what you mean when people try to explain how things work in a rush, it just doesn't stick in your mind, does it? Hope James can explain it to you better.

Well, my soaps have just started so I'll get off and watch them now

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 22 Jul 2015 19:48

Oh son has that Netflix ,i think it's some thing to do with streaming movies on line or straight to the TV , the little ones like watching the childrens films .

We have just given the pool a good hoover out ,it's been windy and has blown lots of bits off the trees .
The water was lovely and warm, hopefully we'll get in there this week end .

Gill, it says in the tele book that Vera is a repeat :-(

Frank

Frank Report 22 Jul 2015 19:57

Yes the soaps are on !!! Vera starts at 8.00 pm.

Why do I complain that I am bored ??

I have just heard from my old pal down the road from where I lived as a child. He has been in hospital again for FOUR DAYS more tests etc. He is on CEMO twice a day, and he hasn't had any solid food since 18th March. His feed takes EIGHT HOURS through tubes up his nose and down into his stomach, and still he has a laugh and a joke. He has gone from 13 stone down to 9 st 7 lbs. and jokes "It's not a good alternative to Weight watchers." Bless his cotton socks.

The drain saga goes on and on Gill. Yes you don't want people looking round at a time like this. Just hope they don't drive by, when the front garden is dug up. :-( :-(

Lewis loves to be out there. He has friends who are out there like he is. He's swimming, playing football, and generally enjoying his self. I think he's at the disco at night. I don't think his M & D see a great deal of him.

Fitz did like I did Jane, I left the sprinkler on for best part of TEN HOURS so gawd knows what that cost through the meter.

Have a nice lunch tomorrow and hope Chris enjoys his day in the "SMOKE"( as we use to call it !!!)

Sorry if I missed anything/one. Vera is just going to start.

See you later.

Gillx

Gillx Report 22 Jul 2015 20:19

I don't watch Vera, Mandy so I've just ask Sandra who is watching it at the moment if she's seen it before and she said she hasn't. Maybe Frank will know as he said he's watching it too. Sorry I can't help further.

Yes Frank, I was thinking that people might drive past and see the work being done. There's nothing I can really do about that, but hopefully if I get a guarantee for the work it might actually work in my favour with the viewers :-D ;-) <3.

The water board still haven't turned up, I was told they work till 10pm, which is very late and I'm sure it'll be dark by then, so I'm pretty sure it's going to be tomorrow now, which won't please mum if I can't go round and see her.
