So pleased your problem is sorted with the drain rods Gill. That must be a huge weight off your mind.
Mandy more bargains for the kids today then. I am now wondering what the next one will be as things tend to come in threes.
Frank I have told you before to eat walnuts after smoked macherel they digest it better than anything else. We always have them with our cheese on a Sunday night. Funny thing is I was looking at the smoked mac in Morr*sons this week but did'nt buy them. Glad you had a better night last night.
Ann so pleased that Jack and FIL are getting along together. I bet it is a long time since FIL has had a male friend. How's MIL today? Does G go every day to see her?
Good lunch then Jane and only 2 glasses for you. You were a good girl.
We went to Launceston to the garden center and had lunch first. Then oh went over to the fish pond bit and I had a muddle around the shop thinking oh would'nt be long before he was ringing me to tell me he was ready to go. I had a good look for a couple of things I wanted but did'nt like what they had. I want a hose hanger. Then went to see if oh had finished as he usually hurries me along because he wants to get home. NO he was still in the fish department and he had bought a new filter for his pond plus a load of new pipes to fit it with and a new pump which is slower than the one we have at present which is too fearse for the new filter. at least it won't use so much leccy as the one running at the moment. Then he needed more of these little bits of white plastic that trap stuff and airate (sp) the water and went to pay but it would'nt accept his card so I told him I would use mine. They were going to put it on hold for him as he wants another of these bags too but they were'nt in stock. The trouble with the card was he had used it 3 times in one shop. we had bought a couple of spayers first, then lunch, then the filter and then the sacks of stuff so I ended up £135 light.
Well I am wacked and am going to have a little watch of the telly now so saying night night.

Morning all
Sunny here but not very warm, quite a chill in the air......It's still summer isn't it??
Fancy the card not working for the third time in the garden centre Mel, good job you were there. Do you think it's the bank stopping the card, thinking it's been stolen? Did your OH try using it in another shop to make sure it's ok? You might get a letter off the bank now. I had one once when I purchase something quite pricey because we don't normally do that and the bank noticed it was something out of the ordinary for us. I had to ring the bank to let them know it was me using my card.
I've had a good nights sleep and no headache today for the first time in ages, so it must of been the stress of the drains and all the sorting. It does feel strange not having anymore sorting out to do after almost 3 months. I've been up since 5.30 this morning and OH and I have cleaned all the back windows and I've put on a load of washing. I need to hover and polish the whole place today ready for the viewing in the morning. I hope the weather is nice tomorrow.
OH has the weekend off so has decided after the viewing to make a start on sorting out the garage, it's the last job to be done. It's a big job so I've offered to help him. I think there's going to be quite a few trips down the tip as we've shoved all sorts in there over the years ;-) ;-).
It sounds like my washing machine's finished so I'd better go and peg it all out. Hope it warms up a bit or it won't dry. BBL

Heavens Gill, what a clear out you've had!!! You won't know yourselves once the garage is done!!! Awful morning here, absolutely teeming with rain!! Cas hates the rain!! So OH had quite a job getting her to go for her walk this am!! she's now back in her bed having a wash!!! Family came yesterday and poor little grandson wasn't feeling too special and ended up being violently sick!! We were on a walk, so we had to turn round and come straight back, whereupon he was sick again in the loo!! Poor little chap he did look rotten and felt even worse!! Apart from that, we had a good afternoon!! A week today is his 8th birthday, and we've been asked to his party!! After that we shall bring Stella back here with us for three weeks while the family are in Malta. We had to get a new microwave the other day as the one we've had for ages finally gave up the ghost!! More expense, as Frank would say!! Doesn't look as though the rain is going to let up today, so I shall have a clean up and a good hoover round instead of my usual 'top do'!!

Morning all and evening Kim,
Liz same here it is raining hard and has been nearly all night. The chickens don't like the rain either and stay in their house most of the day when it is like this.
Was it Mandy saying she had two tiny beans? I have one that is about three inches long and two that are about half an inch long and bl**dy Frank is picking his!!!!!!!!
I sowed some more lettuce seeds in my windowbox thingy and put them out to catch the rain but before it really rained the bantams got in it and had a dust bath. I only found it when I shut them in last night. I had come to the house for the watering can to give them a shower and forgot!!
Oh has had a call from the garden center to say the bag of white plastic things that go in the filter are not the recommended ones for that filter so we have to go back and change them!!!

Glad he's better now Liz. It may have just been one of these nasty 24 hour bugs he picked up somewhere.
It is really quite cold here today. I got soaked feeding the chickens and its coming from the east which is unusual for us and its also coming in the back door porchy bit where it is usually dry as that faces east. My doormat is drenched outside.

Morning to the ducklings down south and all of you others, Evening Kim.
We have the rain just starting, after a very muggy morning start. Have you got it yet you who are further North and East ???
Well Friday is finally here. On Wednesday Morning (I thought it was Thursday) I ordered our prescription on line and asked if I could collect Friday (they need two days notice) I then took my Thursday tablets on Wednesday and keep insisting it was Friday yesterday. Even asking Ros what time was she meeting Martine TOMORROW.
What a GOOD GIRL you were Jane <3 <3 <3 (Brownie points for you) :-D :-D :-D
Liz, was it something your grandson had eaten ?? It's horrible when they are sick like that, and very little you can do to help them BLESS.
Mel, Most unusual for Mr Mel, hanging around the stores , I know you have said before how he likes to get what he wants, and then HOME. Just like me. I can't just walk around "LOOKING"
Very pleased that FIL has a pal now Ann. They will be able to sit and put the world to right, and have lots of memories to pass to each other. Are they the only men there ??
ANYONE WANT SOME RUNNERS. I picked a load again yesterday. The bottom draw of the fridge is filling up with them. I suppose I will be passing them around to the neighbours. Later it will be the Tomato's :-) :-) <3 <3 Yours will come one day MEL. !!!
All showered and shaved, and sitting in new shorts !!! Still very muggy outside.
The American Air Force must be training, as the fighters keep going over, and what a row they make :-( :-( :-(
Bread and pullit for dinner tonight. I just can't think what to do. !!

Must make a small amount of pastry as we only have it on top of the pie.

Well I decided on a Roast Shoulder of Lamb, covered in a mint marinade. New potato's from the garden, runners, broad beans, pea and carrots, and sweetheart cabbage.
Mel, do you mean Parsley sauce ?? I didn't know you could MAKE PARSLEY lol
Liz, Meatballs is something I have never tasted/made. our friend JOHN loves them and eats them every week.
Still raining quite heaver here, I think it's in for the day.
All those poor holiday makers having to make their way to the airports. They say over TWO MILLION will leave for the sun today and tomorrow. Good luck to them !!!
I was saying to Ros the other day, that I feel it won't be long before we will have to call it a day travelling by air. It put's such a strain on me, even with the wheelchair help at the airports. I recon when you don't look forward to it, it's the time to pack it in.
I bet Cas had a nice rub down, and is now curled up sleeping.
What's Thomas up to Jane, I bet he's not out hunting in this weather. ??
Just been in the garden to get MINT and PARSLEY. It'd horrible out there !!!!
Off to watch Nat Geo for an hour or so and perhaps have a few zzzzz

Afternoon All Well what a day it is.it seems really strange to see all the rain as it has been so long since we had anything like this. Frank you are right.Thomas hasn't been far at all today since the rain started about the same time as with you.he has either been on the settee in here or on the settee in the Summerhouse. That is where he is now with Chris.
Poor little boy Liz .Did he just suddenly feel ill when you were out for the walk?Or was he feeling a bit off colour anyway?I hope is fully over the sickness now and is looking forward to his birthday.
I see you have been looking for a new Microwave Liz.I have been out doing the same but for a Fridge Freezer.Ours is making very peculiar noise and must be pretty old now as before we had it ,it was Hannahs, and before her it belonged to the people she bought her house from.So I think I have found one that I like.I came home and checked reviews on the computer and it seems to have pretty good ones.So tomorrow I will go to Curr** and order it.
Frank my mouth is watering at the thought of those lovely beans. We don't seem to have too many flowers on ours at the moment :-S :-S.I do hope they aren't going to be a disaster like the Carrots which are non existent and the Shallots and Garlic that are very small this year.
I decided to have a bath just now.Oh did I enjoy it :-D.I feel all sleepy now lol

Liz is Stella the little dog that used to be a bit too lively for Millie?I bet Cassie will give her a run for her money LOL Still chucking it down here.We just managed to get Thomas to come out through the cat flap in the Summerhouse :-D :-D.I stood outside (IN THE WET) shaking the box of biscuits and he was looking out ,so Chris just gave the flap a little tap so it opened a little and out came Thomas.I think as it is new and not used it sticks a bit so does need a bit of a nudge, but the fact Thomas has now been through is good.He will just need a bit of practice . Gawd he has now got the wind up his tail.He has been attacking the lead to my laptop :-S.He is probably wanting to go out hunting but the rain is putting him off.
Frank I would not fancy flying today.Did I hear right and they said it was the busiest day at airports in History??
Yes Mel your Pie does sound very tasty.Pastry or Parsley topping too ;-) ;-)
Frank I can't believe you have never had Meatballs !!!.I did make my own last year, but I often buy the Tes** finest Italian Style ones. They do plain ones too without herbs . I think you should give them a go :-D It is so dark here now and the rain is coming down even harder :-S

Yes Jane, Stella is daughter's dog! She always comes on us while they're on holiday. Millie used to find her a bit lively!! Now the boot is on the other paw so to speak!! Stella is five now and not very receptive to puppydogs!!! Frank I know what you mean about going away particularly flying. Once something becomes a real hassle it's time to give it a miss. It has been SO wet here, at least there's no watering!!!

Liz Chris is beginning to think that flying is a hassle. He won't do any long haul flights any longer and has a grumble about just a few hours flight .But if we still want to go to places like Italy then flying it has to be.I am not ready to give up travelling yet LOL
Just have to measure the depth of our Fridge Freezer as I think the new one I want might be a bit deeper the new one might stick out too far.I hope not :-S

Still peeing down here. !! I see the wind is getting up to 50 MPH in places tonight and into the morning.
No watering here either Liz,
I must learn to read what you say on here Mel, I could have sworn you said PARSELY :-D :-D (how think am I) Don't answer that ;-) ;-) ;-)
Dinner was a great success even though we didn't have cabbage (no room on the plate) When I cleared up I put everything in the D/W and made it so easy. I must start using it more.
We are having the cat again this year !! They have finally got round to asking us. She was no trouble last year, so hopefully it will be the same this year. Talking of cats, has anybody heard how KIM'S cat it. Last week she/he was pretty poorly.
My carrots, onions and garlic are almost none to good also Jane. Ros found three lettuce that she has transplanted into pots. The carrots haven't grown a bit. Just a thin thing that is an excuse for a carrot. Onion sets have done nothing at all.
Master Chef Final tonight, so will catch that after her soaps have finished. She will have to record the 2nd part of Corrie. Tough luck I say ;-) ;-)
I won't need a lot of rocking tonight, I am struggling to keep my eyes open now. !!!
Hope you are all battened down against the rain and wind tonight.
Thomas will have you up in a few hours Jane. GOOD NIGHT.

No no more long hauls for us either Jane. To be honest I'm not a happy flier, I've never enjoyed it that much even years ago, but now if I never flew again again it wouldn't bother me, but of course if you want to go any distance you just have to grit your teeth and go for it !! It's really quite dark now , what a horrid day, should be better tomorrow! We're watching Billy Connolly, I used to really dislike him, but now he's older we love his travel programmes.

It waited till I had to do the hogs and chickens and it chucked it down. Needless to say I still ent out in it and got drowned.
I have just been watching two hogs eating out of the dame bowl with only a bit of grunting when they moved to the next one.
All shut in now and I don't have anything else to do.
I did'nt make the pie in the end as we had it with dumplings instead and mu short beans and new potatoes and it was lovely.............I am so full I can hardly move.
Good Thomas has actually gone through the cat flap Jane. It won't be long before he can do it on his own.
