Hi all
We're watching the F1 so will catch up with all the posts later.
Pouring with rain here today.
The viewing was a no show and the agent only had a landline number for them so couldn't contact them. I was so cross that I rang around a few other agents and one of them came and took some photo's, there is another one coming on Tuesday afternoon then we will decided on weather to change agents. Then when the agent left we made a start on the garage, which is now all done. OH has spent all morning going to the tip then bumped into his mate who is having all our wood for his wood burner, so we've had baths........garage cleaning is such a mucky job isn't it? and I've put the chicken in the oven and now we're watching the F1 <3
Lewis Hamilton is in pole position so we're looking forward to the race and hope he wins. BBL

Afternoon All What a day .Rain rain rain and so dark.Looks like its a bad day for us all.
Gill,I would have been fuming at another no show for the viewing.Do people not understand how frustrating it must be after getting everything ship shape and clean :-| :-| :-|...Maybe changing agents now might be a good idea as you have said that the one you are with has been pretty useless. So the garage all done now too.I think you all deserve gold medals for all that hard work you have done over the weeks :-D
What a mess Mel .All those blackcurrants.I bet some went all squishy :-S I'm hoping there won't be anything like that in mine when I clear it out.
No washing going on here today :-D.Just one pillow case soaking as Chris's crusty wart thing on the side of his forehead bled in the night :-S
Thomas won't be going far again today by the look of it.He's asleep on the settee. We have just done Pet Insurance for him.Tesc* Pet Ins seemed to be a fairly good deal.I think £6 a month.
Our Patio Table Parasol has just snapped :-S :-S :-S..I only got it at the end of last summer.I think that is 3 we have had now in 4 years :-S :-S.

Afternoon all,
Raining here now ,it started about an hour ago , so no washing going out today .
Oh dear Mel, blackcurrants are tiny little things to clear up and they fall right to the bottom :-( i talked that one up didn't i .
Oh that's naughty Gill the viewers not turning up ,perhaps it is time to change agents . So now the garage is all neat and tidy, you won't know what to do now !! :-D
Hubby's watching the race , it was so sad watching the drivers all standing round their helmets and linking arms for the minutes silence for the young driver that died this week .
I remember you saying you had bought a new parasol Jane ,wasn't it one of those cantilever ones ? the wind has been quite strong lately ,our parasol goes into the middle of the table but the wind still whips it out some times , i tie a cord round ours when we close it up as the wind has got under it and opened it up.
Oh it's brightening up , suns trying to shine ,but it's still raining !!

Sounds a very good deal to me Jane! We pay £25 a month for Cassie!! :-( I think it's a good idea to insure though, as vet's bills can be quite horrendous!! What an awful day!! rain rain and yet more rain!! OH is watching the Grand Prix, :-( I'm not keen and find too much of it v boring!! OH is quite good though and usually only watches snippets as I do get a bit fed up watching the whole race and go off to sit in the bedroom and watch catchup on my Kindle!! We're having roast lamb new spuds and runner near beans (from the garden )for our lunch/supper. It should be ready about 3.00. How annoying Gill! I can remember that happening to us when we were selling our house in Somerset four years ago. Its was a very stressful time, and we don't plan on a repeat performance any time soon!!! I think changing your agent sounds a very good idea; the one you're with could be getting a bit stale.

That is quite a lot Liz.But as you say vets bills are horrendous especially if an operation or even long term problems happen.I think when we had Chester as he got older the insurance went up and I have a feeling we were paying about £30 a month at the end.The dog we had before him had 2 major back ops as he had collapsed vertebrae .If we hadn't had him insured it would have cost us over £3,000 !!!!!
Mandy the Cantilever Parasol was the one we had last year, that broke about this time last year.I then bought this one right at the end of the summer.Chris has just found an old pole and is trying to muckle up something to see if he can save it.I have no idea what he is actually doing though :-S Oh yes I do.He found a pole from one of the Solar lights that never worked ,and it is a bit narrower than the parasol pole .So he has shoved that one inside and it is upright again.Lets hope it works as we don't really want to be buying yet another new one this year. No sun here. But the rain seems to have stopped (for now) :-D...........I lie it has just started again :-|

So it's a case of make do and mend the Jane :-D
My dad was one for that ,if he could mend some thing he would ,didn't matter what it looked like when he finished :-D he was always pulling things to bits and mending things ,i think that's were son gets it from , he has just put a new key board on the lap top the children use and he's replaced screens on their tablets ,he loves tinkering like that .
We called in theirs for coffee this morning ,Lewis has two teeth through at the bottom , he's six months old !! where has that time gone .

just finished watching the F1, disappointed Lewis didn't win, he had quite a bad race but luckily beat his team mate and got an extra 4 points on him. Lewis is still winning the championship so far, so that's good. They are on their summer break now for three weeks.........I'll be getting withdrawal symptoms :-D :-D.
How lovely Mandy little Lewis having two teeth. The last six months have gone quick haven't they? We tend to fix things rather than going out to buy, it's the way I was brought up.....I think todays society is a throw away one, but I don't see the point in paying out for something new if the old one can be fixed.
Isn't the weather horrible? You wouldn't think it was summer with all this rain. They reckon it's the wettest July since records began and in parts of the country there has been a months rainfall in a day. Hope it doesn't lead to flooding :-(.
Shame the bad weather has had an effect on your new place Pat, hope things get back on track soon.
I'm so tired with all the work OH and I have done these past couple of days, it's a nice feeling knowing every where is sorted now though. Not sure what I'm going to do with my time now lol. I do want to make a picture and I've still got to get my drains sorted at some point next week. I'm expecting a call Monday or Tuesday from the drain people to let us know what day they are coming to sort out the drain and we have another estate agent coming round on Tuesday afternoon, so hopefully we'll have an agent who will be able to sell this place as the one we have now doesn't seem very good.
I'm going to have a little sleep now, I'm so tired and fighting it will only give me another headache BBL

Gosh is he really 6 months already Mandy. Time certainly does fly.
I can't believe it is 4 years since Liz and Ian moved either.
The black currants were already frozen so no squished one and they were mine from the garden and are as big as blueberries. they will getgiven to the chickens when I clean the freezer out. So not wasted. They love a berry and if one finds one the others chase it around the run and there's the poor girl who found it trying very hard to find a safe place to eat it.
Gill wht a waste of time those estate agents seem to be. I would definately change if I were you.

Make do and mend is just right Mandy.Haven't heard that one for a while :-D.After buying the TV and now the Fridgefreezer we don't really need 'MORE EXPENSE' .If this one can last out the summer that will be great.
So little Lewis is half a year old already and with teeth !!!!!..I can't believe it was 6 months ago he was born. No swimming pool at the moment then for the children with this horrible weather.I hope they aren't all going stir crazy having to be indoors. It's flipping miserable .It reminds me of what I call typical Plymouth weather. We just don't have the Sea mist/fog here. It is actually chucking it down now.Thomas has been and sat at the back door a couple of times but then turned around and come back in.he might need a wee.So Litter tray is out !!!

Yes we shall be watching that Mel!! and recording Joanna Lumley. I've just been looking up pet insurance Jane, just to make sure that our quote is competable, and for dogs our premium seems ok. We've got lifetime insurance, which I think is a bit more but at least Cas's age won't be an issue like it eventually was with Millie! At last it has stopped raining!!

It might have stopped raining at yours Liz but it has just started again here and its that fine stuff that gets everywhere. It will soon be time to shut the chickens in and feed the hogs so it was bound to rain now.
I hav'nt watched the Joanna Lumley programs but I may do so on catchup.

Evening All,
It's very wet here too! Looks much the same the next few days so it will be more sorting out here I think. OH took yet another 11 bin bags of paper shreddings yesterday. I've finished the curtains and made a start in the bedroom by putting some new flower photos in the frames on the wall.
As MIL had said she wanted to see FIL, OH took him to the hospital last night, a round trip of over 70 miles by the time he'd been to their house to pick his dad's hearing aids the home had rung to say he wanted. Why after this time I'm not sure as he didn't wear them at home as they caused dermatitis. :-S Well, it was against my better judgement, but I kept it zipped as you do! Apparently he was in floods of tears when he went in, but I'm not sure it's when he's upset as OH said he was getting cross with himself at the same time. Maybe it's just the illness he has causing his emotions to be heightened. Anyway he was fine after that, but when he went to the toilet MIL started telling OH he must speak to the home as she'd never, ever seen him go out without a tie on!!! (OH had no tie on either. lol) Also to ring her hairdresser to arrange to have his hair cut. (it hardly gets any chance to grow as she told OH a while ago that FIL has his few wisps of hair cut every fortnight!!). Tonight when OH went she told him she doesn't want FIL to come and see her in hospital again or at her house when she's discharged and that she'll go to see him in the home. (there was no way we would take him back to the house anyway as he might think he could stay and get upset.) We think she's embarrassed about his illness as OH had told the nurses it was his dementia causing the tears and she also wouldn't want the neighbours to know how bad he is now. OH said he thanked him for taking him over 29 times on the way back to the home.
MIL seemed a bit stronger today, but is still having trouble eating and has lost 2 stones in 2 months. They are talking about her having a special bed downstairs now and one of those chairs that rise to help you get up. She wants all new bedding getting etc and was taken aback when OH said where will the bed and chair go and how will you fit it all in. (house stuffed to the gills remember). She thinks the heavy dining table can be got upstairs like magic with the stairlift rail in the way and forgets OH can't do things like that now he has weakened bones himself. Then there's nowhere to put it when you get it up there and there would need much more to be moved out to make room for a bed. She's giving her orders now too, OH is to get the boiler serviced before she comes out and insist on them giving a definite time they will come!!!! Then he's to liaise with the neighbours and get them to be there when the man comes!! Then there's phone calls he must make. I don't think so.....he's got enough on his plate!
We did get out yesterday to Easton on the Hill near Oakham to look at a Priest's House built in the 1400s which was quite interesting. The man with the key lived opposite and we had quite a chat with him. The villages are all quite pretty and built of ironstone with limestone roof slates.
Shame about your viewing Gill.......new agents sound a good idea.
I hope little Lewis is having less trouble with his teeth than his dad Mandy. He must be quite a big boy now.
I've got one of those spiraliser things for veg too but haven't tried mine yet. It doesn't sound promising after the experience some of you have had. lol.
I managed to hurt my shoulder right in the joint a couple of days ago and have been putting my handbag over my left shoulder since to protect it. Well I find it a bit awkward and when I went out to get in the car this morning the neighbour opposite waved to me. As I swung my bag over my shoulder with the strap in my left hand, I lifted my fingers of the same hand to wave back and the strap pulled some of my fingers down and I'm sure I gave him a 2 fingered sign by accident!!! :-S It's the first time OH has laughed for a while. :-)
We are watching the Agatha Christie series too and Joanna Lumley.

Sorry to hear you have hurt your shoulder Ann, but I did have a bit of a giggle when you were saying about the way you waved to your neighbour, at least it made your OH laugh, which by the sounds of the day he's had is a good thing. So MIL is giving her orders again then, she does expect your OH to do quite a bit and he's already running around a lot. How is FIL now after getting upset at the hospital?
We've finished all our clearing out now and both of us are quite sore with all the heavy lifting, so I'm glad it's all done. I'm going to do a bit of baking tomorrow if they don't come to do the drains, I fancy a cheesecake and maybe a cake. Then I'm going to make a start on the picture I want to make for our bedroom. The weather forecast is for rain over the next few days, so while I'm stuck indoors I might as well use my time constructively.
It sounds like you've over done it a bit with the big roast dinner Jane, hope you are feeling a little better now ;-).
OH and I fell asleep on the sofa's for a few hours this afternoon so we're not tired now and have decided to watch Casualty we recorded yesterday. When I woke up this afternoon, I just stood up to go into the kitchen and little Rosie spotted me and came running to the back door for nuts, she had three lots so she must of been starving. She was all soggy with the rain lol. She's so cute. I hadn't seen her for a few days so it was nice to see her again. Hope Thomas didn't get to wet when he went out Jane.
Signing out now as we'll probably go to bed after Casualty, see you all tomorrow Night NIght

Morning All,
Well we were happily watching the Agatha Christie prog (which seems quite good!) when the phone rang at 10.00pm. It was the care home......FIL had fallen and didn't seem to be able to walk so they had called an ambulance. It seems that although he was fine after visiting MIL on Friday, there were more tears on Saturday and he was inconsolable yesterday. He's back to thinking he should be looking after MIL. OH now has a parent in two hospitals in two counties! He's still in hospital, but they have x-rayed his shoulder which is ok and they are getting a physio to come and see if she can get him walking again. Apparently he tried to get out of the hospital bed in the night as well and fell again. They say he is very confused and that it wouldn't really be helpful for OH to go. They are looking to possibly discharge him today but were asking if his home is a nursing home which it isn't. So we are not even sure where he will be discharged to.
OH has gone to pay his mother's bills now and for the last few days his laptop won't connect to the internet so I am taking that to get it fixed for him.
Then I shall get back to some more sorting out in the bedroom Gill after doing MIL's washing!
