I'm like that Jane as I think I've told you. I never let on over anything very much and tend to keep problems, worries and upsets with family etc close to my chest. Half the time I just don't want to talk about whatever it is. Friends always say that things have to be wormed out of me!! We're sitting outside this evening after a lovely day, but are about to go in for some supper. Hope tomorrow is fine!!

I think it's the way people are about talking about things. Until I came on here I would never say a word about how I felt. It might be easier not having to talk FACE TO FACE. Silly I know.
Ros has really treated me today, New saucepans, and frying pan. Also she went into M & S and bought a Lasagne, Cauliflower cheese and mushrooms with a garlic dip. We had that for dinner, so only had two plates and knives and forks to wash up. It will be Takeaway tomorrow. So will start cooking again on Sunday.
She liked the flowers 6 yellow roses and a bunch of freesia's All in bud, so should last a few days.
Glad you have had a nice day Liz, lets hope it continues over the weekend.
I think I will pop for a couple of pints tonight. I'll walk down and no doubt Tony will be down there, so he can bring me home.
Have a good evening all. Speak again tomorrow.

My neighbour 3 doors down has just put her house up for sale.I saw the sign last night. She is on her own now and is finding it hard to keep it up.It is a very big house with big garden. It is on the market for 5 hundred and twenty five thousand!!!. I had a look at the photos on the pooter and I want her kitchen !!!!
Dinner almost ready for Chris and me.James has gone to pick Jess up from Northampton Railway Station.I think they will probably pick up a Chinese or Thai on the way home.

O poor FIL thinking he had been to G's funeral. That must have upset him a lot. He must have been so please to see Gordon when he visited.
Mouth felt a bit better this morning and the lump on the roof of my mouth had gone soen a bit. I had a sandwich lunchtime and just about managed that and cook pasta tonight but my teeth arn't fitting properly and the cheese sauce made my gums sore so out they came and I had a big glass of water.
Hope your side is easier tomorrow Ann. You just don't realise how you use your side muscles just moving your arms etc. Bet FIL enjoyed his choccy. What is it he likes?
Gill it sounds like you have put the world to rights with your daughter and mother and you must feel exhausted.
Frank you say you hav'nt slept well again and this always seems to happen with a full moon.
Jane hope this explains the blue moon for you. Oh told me about it tonight.
The correct, original definition is that a Blue Moon is the third full Moon in an astronomical season with four full Moons. A normal year has four astronomical seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter - with three months and normally three full Moons each. it's the first time this has occured in three years.
Pat hope you have a good sleep in that bed tonight.
I am now going to have a nice glass of port and see if I can wtch gardeners world and the new Ripper Street.
See you in the morning so night night.

Morning all. A chilly start to the day but should warm up later I slept better thank you in the bed. Still woke up during the night for you know what Went for a drink along the beach front to one of the local pubs last night couldn't do that at home. Might become a habit lol. Will have to do some food shopping today so will also call into the charity shops as well
Ross was getting some nice bargains for you Frank I have a sofa Ann to go to the charity shop later. But I must admit they are very fussy on some things. They throw a lot of things out in my shop that I think may selll when they are sorting though. It is heart breaking but then people are more fussy when buying. In the good old days it was different :-(

Mel. It is awful when your denture hurts you. When they try to fix the problem by filing it end up not fitting properly
Frank. Ross got some good bargains for you. If I have repeated myself it is because I went back a page so lost what I had written lol. Thinking of you there Frank

Morning/Evening All
Mel I think it is time to make that call. It's been days now :-(..No wonder it is getting you down.
Pat that sounds very handy just to be able to potter along the seafront to the pub.I bet you will get to know most of them soon :-D :-D :-D.Glad you had a decent nights sleep last night.
I was only saying wasn't I that we didn't need any more big expenses after the TV and F F.Well last night out decorator rang and said we are next on his list .He is coming on Tuesday to do the Facsia and Soffits (what are soffits??).So that will be a few hundred quid. I now need to pluck up the courage and knock next door to see if they will let Russell have access to their land as he has to use next door to do the side of our house. They are not the most amenable people. What will I do if they say no !!!!!!!!.
I just chased Thomas up the Bay Tree :-D.Well not on purpose .I was just playing with him and he got the wind up his tail and whoosh up he went .I think he was surprised to find himself at the top LOL.Then it was how to get down.Eventually after a lot of scrabbling and lots of bits of twigs and leaves coming down he made it. :-D
Right .Things to do and places to go this morning .I'll BBL

Fascias and soffits are the boards that cover the ends of the roof rafters where they sit on top of the outer wall of a house. Has that answered your question Jane? :-D

Good morning my fair Maidens and Sir Will, Evening Kim.
HOME ALONE as usual Saturday morning.
I was awake at SIX. couldn't be bothered to get up and dropped off again at 8.00 am. Ros needs to be up by 8.30 to get ready, but I didn't wake till 9.15 so she skated around to be out by 10.00. Leaving me to make the bed and get the coloureds wash on the line. All done "TOPS FROM BOTTOM, BOTTOMS FROM TOP" blowing away in a nice breeze.
Went for a walk to the pub last night. What a welcome. People asking if I was O.K. and offering to buy me a drink. It was only last Saturday that I was there, but of course most of them there last night don't go in on a Saturday.
I hope you all enjoy todays "LETTER" It had me in stitches.
Mel, YOU ARE NAUGHTY. Promise me, you will phone the DENTIST on MONDAY.. When I have trouble with my dentures I take them out and use Bonjella on my gums, and when I put them back I use plenty of Fixodent to cushion them on my gums.
Jane I would have loved to have seen Thomas "FLY UP THE TREE" and then have to work out how to get down.
Pat I can think of nothing nicer than a stroll along the sea front and stop for a drink. What a very enjoyable evening you had, I wish I could have joined you ;-) ;-) ;-)
Mel it might well be the "FULL MOON" You know what a LITTLE DEVIL I AM lol :-D :-D :-D
I've got more saucepans than I can store. But there are in such good nick I don't like to through them away, they just don't have lids. !!!!
I must empty another bag of Potato's this morning as I have used up the others. I will sift the compost and spread it over the borders. There must be plenty of goodness left in it. Waste not Want not !!!
See you all later.

Thanks Mel :-D :-D :-D..
Well I have been next door and all is fine for the decorator to get access.Neighbour said he will have to sort the side gate out !!!!.He probably means he will have to cut bag the unruly hedge that he has ignored for years to get to the gate !!!!! So we agreed to get the decorator to do that side bit first thing on Tuesday morning.
Thomas is definitley in one of them today.Chris caught him coming up the garden with a young rabbit in his mouth .When he swa Chris he ran off under the big hedge with it.So doors are closed again :-S
Clouds here now Frank.I think it might be sunny again though,so your washing should be safe.
last night Jess was telling me her Grandpa was an evecuee in Kettering in 1944 when he was 6 yrs old.He lived at 163 Mill Rd with a family. So this morning I went and knocked on the door there to ask if I could take a photo of the outside for 'Grandpa' to see.I have a feeling the house is just let rooms as it looked a bit of a state and in one of the bedrooms upstairs i could see a bottle of Whisky and a load of mess.I took another photo looking down Mill Rd with St Marys school on the right.I'm sure he must have gone to school there. But it is a modern building so the old one must have been knocked down.So I didn't bother taking a photo of it as he wouldn't recognise it now. He remembers Wicksteed Park.I said to Jess that I would happily take him on a tour of kettering if he wanted to se the place again. But as he is wheelchair bound and not in great health I don't know if it would be possible. But the offer is there :-)
Last night James and Chris sat outside having a good old Dad and Son chat with a bottle of red wine. They didn't come in until nearly 11pm.It is not often they have a good old natter together so I left them too it and I think they enjoyed eachothers company for a change.Jess kept asking where James was and when he was coming in ,so I just told here to leave him lol .Honestly sometimes he can't go to the loo without her wondering where he is.They are off out in a minute to Beckworth Emporium and then this evening they are going to Johnny's Mums with a few other of Johnny's old friends and Denise is cooking them all a meal. How nice is that :-D :-D
Frank did you ever drink at the Red Lion down in Cranford?.It has changed hands so many times over the years and has never had a big clientele .But now it is changing again and this time it is a local couple from the village taking it over.I think it is the son of Lord and Lady Robinson from Cranford Hall.He is a young man with his wife.It seems like the pub has had a revamp and makeover including the restaurant bit so I really hope this time it will be a success.I think the fact it is local people running it might just get more of the locals back once more :-D.It's a nice old pub just a couple of minutes off the A14 so really should be drawing in some passing traffic. We have had a flyer through the door saying the opening is on Friday and there is a free taster of the menu and complimentary glass of Fizz.I wish them well and hope it really works this time around.A village like Cranford needs a good little pub like that.
I hope that Ann and OH are able to have a good weekend with no disasters or emergencies <3 Going to look at your emails now Frank :-D

We've got Stella here for two weeks while the family have a well earned break on Malta. She's 5 now and has turned from a lively puppydog into a well behaved and beautiful dog. Cas adores her so it should be a good couple of weeks for her! They're cutting the field opposite us and once it's finished our two can run to their hearts content in all 15 acres!!! Make a change from our field and is hugely bigger! We've just had meatballs, fried spud, and runners for lunch!! OH did the meatballs in a tomato and garlic sauce and they were delicious! Grandsons 8th birthday yesterday! We had a great afternoon with the family and came home with cake and shortbread!!! OH is watching cricket! I'm outside with my children watching the Combine!!

Sir Will? SIR WILL?? What's that all about then Frank. Does everyone reaching 80 get a knighthood now and nobody told me. Methinks I'll have to send a PM to the Palace right now and ask Liz where mine is!!!
Well, shed today, or at least this morning. I'm de-cluttering and there are tools and stuff that I won't use and don't really want to use now as they and my arthritis don't get on together. I've asked the tool stall (hey, that rhymes!) man down at our market if he wants them buckshee and he said he'll call in and pick them up on Wednesday. I'm actually going to have more floor space in this one as I'm rethinking everything as I go, lot's of hangy-up hooks etc and by heck am I enjoying myself. I filled the black rubbish bin up last week and got rid of a lot of stuff that I don't need or want. What's the betting that I'll be looking for it in a month or two?
Not much else to report, all quiet on the family front now, lot of them are away on holiday anyway.
I had a message from Mel, our friend/un-adopted daughter who we stayed with in Cambridge the other week and she tells me her father died on Thursday night. She was very fond of him and we know that he was very good to her, so she is heading off to Ireland on Monday to see family although the cremation isn't until Saturday. Not sure why the delay, usually in Ireland funerals are very soon but it maybe that because he had renal failure, responded to dialysis then had a heart attack, so maybe it's a post mortem job.
Sorry to end on a sad note but, like light and shade, life and death go hand in hand sadly. Mel knows we are here for her if she needs us. I'll try and be more cheerful tomorrow. TTFN

So Meatballs for you todayLiz,Frank the other day and it will be us on Monday :-D :-D
I bet Cas will miss Stella when she goes Liz.Especially if they get on so well. They will have the life of thier time chasing eachother around the fields :-D :-D :-D We had no more sun in the end .Just lots of big grey clouds . I have spent half the afternoon trying to decide what to wear tomorrow when we go to Janice.Chris was no help at all as each time I thought I had it right he said either the top wasn't right with the trousers ,or I needed different trousers :-S :-S.So after about half a dozen changes I don't care what he says.I have decided lol (I think I will look ok :-D ).It's nowhere that posh where we are going for lunch I just don't want to look too shabby lol..Must do my nails :-D :-D

Afternoon/Evening everyone,
Well we didn't get the shower as expected. It turned out to be a nice afternoon. Bit of a breeze now and a few clouds.
Jane, When my pals and I use to go to Felixstowe fishing once a month. We always stopped at the "RED LION" for a pint and sort out the petrol money. I always drove as I had a company car with lots of space for the tackle and the COD that we bough back. It has been known for me to bring home 40 lb of COD for the freezer. Those were the days !!!!
It's nice that James and Chris has time together. I never had that pleasure with my father. Which I know I would have enjoyed, having him tell me of all his experience of naval life. He joined up at age 15 in 1901.
Liz, That must be wonderful company for Cassie, and to have the freedom of that field to run in. They will sleep till the cows come home. !!!
Had a nice lazy afternoon. I popped to the pub and had two pints at lunchtime. Loads of people were coming in for Lunch. One family from Dorset, another from Norfolk, and another from Nottingham. All making their way home or towards somewhere, I always ask if they "are passing through" and get into conversation. Why not, it makes people feel welcome. !!!
Where is everyone today. I do hope things are alright everywhere. Unusual not to have heard from Gill. !!!
