Hi all
So Cassie has got a friend to play with for a while then Liz, that'll be lovely for her, good job they get on LOL 15 acre's is a lot of space for them both to have a good run around.
How nice of you to take the photo's of the old house for Jess's Grandpa Jane, he's going to be made up with them. You're probably right about the school, from what you were saying it does sound like a newer build than the one he probably went to.
You've done well with our spuds Frank, we didn't get many this year, but to be honest we didn't actually plant any. There was an old pot of them behind the greenhouse from last year and we only noticed them when the squirrels were trying to bury them, so OH emptied the pot and I cooked them, they were delicious.
Sorry to hear you're still having problems with your mouth Mel, you really should see a dentist before it gets to bad. There's no point in suffering unnecessarily.
I've spent the whole day with Sandra today which was nice, she normally spends a lot of time in her room doing her own thing, so it was nice to have the company for a change.
We've been talking about changing this place and getting an extension rather than putting the property back on the market, so I've spent some of today looking online for traders......It's not easy to find a good one is it? Because I couldn't decided on one I had a thought about having a conservatory put on the back and then we can open it up into the kitchen, that would give us the extra room we need and will probably be cheaper than an extension. Our neighbour used to fit conservatories so I'll asked OH to have a word with him, that way we'll know the person who does it will be good.
I've been thinking of re-doing our back garden too but that would be after the new conservatory goes up. We wouldn't be starting anything until after Michelle's visit next month when hopefully the weather will be a bit better, it's been pouring down most of today and has only just brightened up a bit.
Rosie made Sandra jump earlier, it was so funny. Rosie jumped onto the living room window sill for her food, she seems to be making a habit of it lately. I put the food outside the back door for her but then had to wait by the door as a massive pigeon was trying to take the food off her. Rosie decided she wanted seconds then just walked away when she'd finished without even a thank you LOL :-D :-D
I'm just about to sort out dinner now then we might settle down and watch something off the planner until OH gets in from work.

Evening all,
It's been quite a nice day here today and we have got lots of jobs done .
Yesterday i had Katie here for the day ,so it was a day for jigsaws ,Play Doh ,coloring books and making bits ,i was tired out last night , she is such a good little girl she played out side with the little cooker and pots and pans for ages ,a little water and she was happy pouring water from one pot to another . Tuesday is Chelsea's turn to come for the day .
Oh dear Mel, you'll have to get to the dentist ,you carn't be in pain like that ,hope you can get in fairly quickly .
My word Frank, Ros gets some good bargains , those saucepans were a really good buy . That email was so funny didn't we both laugh .
Gill, we have a conservatory ,well we call it a conservatory but the plans called it a Sun Room as it's mostly brick , hubby built it and we spend a lot of time in there even though we get the full sun all day ,with blinds it keeps nice and cool ,that's where we have our dining table .
Liz, that's lovely that the dogs get on together ,little Cassie will have fun running over the field with her new friend . :-D

thanks Jane, mum was expecting it so isn't too bad now but Sandra is really upset as she used to visit her every week. I've spent all day with Sandra today and tried to cheer her up. I was trying to find the tune for the advert for the general elections and Sandra said she heard it on the radio and thought it had bird in the title, so we've been looking on the internet. Well I finally found it but it didn't have bird it was called power. But one item on the internet showed big bird singing a song for the elections which made her laugh, so it turned out ok in the end. It's the first time I've heard her laugh in days.

Sorry didn't see your post earlier Mandy. OH's not long got in from work and we have been discussing it. We like your idea of a sun room, but we don't have any clue where to start as far as planning permission or building regulations go. I'm going to have to look into that too although I'm not sure where to start.
Does anyone on here know the process and the order to do things in? Any help would be great, so at least I'll have a starting point as it's going to be up to me to sort it all out with OH working full time. ;-)

Gill, just go onto Google and ask what the general planning situation is in England for conservatories/sun rooms. Then go onto your local authority site and see exactly what planning permissions they require, and take it from there. You may need to go and talk to your planning officer at some stage. It really depends what the requirement is for the size of the building you want. We've just finished watching a fantastic programme about a Spitfire Pilot . It was a true story and quite riveting. My goodness those young men, were SO brave, and SO young. This chap was just 19/20 in 1940/41 the flight leader was 22!! Incredible! Have tucked up or children, and we're now in bed watching the news!!!

Another dull day here today and it looks like it's rained again in the night. Quite cold too. Hope the weather is better tomorrow when the drains people turn up.
Thanks Liz for the info I'll look into that today <3 Your program sounds very interesting, I didn't watch much TV last night as OH and I were talking about our extension.
My throat is still sore Jane but at least my headache has gone now, so that's good. Hope you have a nice time at Janice's today and your sneezing eases off a bit.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Suns out here this morning but there are a lot of white clouds in the sky.
Feeling a bit better today as last night I kept having sips of whiskey and holding it on the teeth. Did'nt have a good night though, kept getting hot and cold and could'nt sleep. then oh got up and came back to bed and layed right up against me. I had to give him a shove in the end as he was making me hot.
I shall ring the dentists tomorrow and see if they can fit me in.
Today would have been my fathers birthday. Happy birthday dad <3 <3 <3
Tomorrow would have been my best friends birthday.

I have sent you a PM GILL.
Good morning all, Evening Kim,
What a horrible night I had last night, I was clock watching until 4.00 am and wide awake at 7.00 am. My mind just seems to click into gear when I lie down. I did read for a while to try to relax myself. No Radio last night as from !0.00 till 1.00 is all old MODERN JAZZ (Not my kettle of fish)
I trust Jane will have a nice day today, It will get her away from Thomas for a few hours. I bet there will be "PRESENTS" from him on their return. !!!
Nice morning here, lots of blue sky and a heavy breeze (if you can have a heavy breeze) ;-) ;-) ;-) I'm sure you know what I mean.
STROKES seem to be getting more and more. Martine's MIL 93 had one yesterday morning and is in hospital. Another lad 50s had a slight stroke the other day, and was at the hospital yesterday having MRI scan.
Everything is ready VEG wise for dinner tonight. Just got to make the pudding and Cheese sauce.
Football on T.V. this afternoon, so will get dinner when that is finished. Charity Shield between Chelsea and Arsenal. Lewis will be glue to the screen in France.
The little beggar hasn't SKYPED us since he went away. and whenever I look on line he's never there. I suppose he is enjoying his days in the pool and evenings with his mates in the night club. Why not at his age. Good luck to him !!!
How's things with that mouth Mel, a little more comfortable I hope.
Well I have a few things to do in the garden today, so I had better get my Ar#e into gear.
Have a restful day, and I will see you later.
Liz, We had a Spitfire Pilot who lived a few houses down from me as a child. When he came home for a short leave, he was a Nervous MESS. and I always remember he was drunk all the time. He must have gone through hell for keeping our skies safe from the Germans together with all those other brave boys. WE SHOULD NEVER FORGET !!! <3 <3

Missed you Mel, You are getting as bad as me not being able to sleep.
I have just been to get some mint for the potato's, peas and carrots, and what do you think I found. A GRASSHOPPER. I haven't seen one of those for years. As kids over the fields we would put our finger on their back ends and see how far they could jump. I bet the kids today don't do things like that. !!! I might be wrong, they might be able to do it on their COMPUTERS. LOL. Thinking of it I can't remember when I last say an earwig. We used to push a stick through the posts that help the chain-link fencing. There were always loads in there. Horrible little things.
These are just some of the silly things that keep me awake at Nights. :-D :-D :-D
Just going to spread the compost from the potato's over the border up the drive.
I have Noticed more plants have appeared in the driveway. She's out there now looking to see where she can put them. :-| :-| :-| :-|
I said last night you must have had a cheap shop at Morriso#s, as I only need a bit of veg, she said it cost me over £60.00. I can see why, Makeup, plants, tops to go over her trousers etc etc. I must start going shopping with her ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

I can imagine that Frank, as the chap whose story was told last night and who is still alive, well into his 90's, apparently suffered a nervous breakdown in 1942 at the age of 20, while serving in Malta. What those brave young men went through is truly humbling, and as you say we, our children and grandchildren should never forget them and their bravery. Mine don't and never will, for obvious reasons which is 'very pleasing. Mel have you tried putting Corsydal on your sore tooth? I find it works wonders, much better than any other remedy. My hygienist actually recommended it when I was having a lot of trouble with gum infections. It really did the trick and I use the daily one on a regular basis now and have been completely trouble free from infection/soreness problems. The sun is lovely here this morning, but the wind is as you say Frank!! Windy!!!! We've got chicken today, roasties and runners!!

Thanks Frank for the advice. I've just emailed the council with a few questions so hopefully I'll hear back from them some time next week. Is there any plants left in the shops around you with Ros buying them all? I'm surprised you have any space left to put them LOL
Glad to hear you are feeling a little better today Mel. Sorry to hear you didn't sleep very well last night though. Hope you can get into your dentist tomorrow.
It's raining here and very cloudy and cold. I even had my fire on earlier. Not sure if we're going to get a summer this year :-( :-(. The weather looks good the further down the county you go.
I've just put the chicken in the oven, it's Sandra's favourite. She's just gone off to the other room to watch one of her programs while I cook, she doesn't like some of the programs I watch and visa versa so it's good we have more than one TV ;-) ;-)
Off to try and find architects now, I assume I'm going to need drawings whether we need planning permission or use the permitted development route. OH has decided he prefers more walls than windows so the conservatory idea has now gone, in favour of a sun room or some other sort of extension.
It's all right for him I'm the one who has to sorted it all out, although at the moment I'm still in the dark as to how things are done. Hopefully the council will be able to guide me in the right direction ;-) ;-) If we extend the rest of the width of our bungalow to link it in with our kitchen we'll have to have the garage removed, so something else I'll have to look into LOL.
Looks like I'm going to busy for a while yet and I've still got to contend with the drains people tomorrow and then take the bungalow off the market with the agents..... A WOMAN'S WORK IS NEVER DONE LOL :-D :-D

Well Gill it will keep you out of trouble !!!
Liz, I tried to "DRUM" it into my children to never forget how brave all three services were during the wars. Remembrance services were always on each year and I made sure they sat and watched and stood for the two minute silence. Once they grew up and moved away, I had no control, but hopefully they continued to remember.
I said earlier I wondered where she spend over £60.00 at Morriso#s, I just went to the garage freezer to get some apple for the apple sauce,. The FREEZER IS FULL TO THE TOP. with more meats. I am getting to the point that I have so much meat, I think I will start a food bank for the poor :-D :-D :-D I have told ROS. NO MORE MEAT TILL I SAY SO> :-| :-| :-|
Still very nice out, all doors and windows open with a nice breeze blowing through.

Afternoon all,
Lovely day here the sun is quite warm .
Gill, hubby said you need to go to an architect first ,they will tell you what you could have built on ,and do the plans for you , they come up with all sorts of options ,he said if its on the back you might not want planning consent but it might have to go through building regs , the architect will be able to tell you all of this .
Been to sons this morning and then on to see my sister and BIL ,sister is waiting to here from the hospital as she has to have a knee replacement just like BIL .
Very sad to hear Cilla Black has died .

O Mandy I had'nt seen that. She could'nt have been that old.
It is a beautiful day here and the breezy wind is warm.
Frank you talking about earwigs....I went to pick up a bit off the carpet in the kitchen the other day and it pinched me. It was an earwig so I trod on it and that was the last of that. We get grasshoppers here to and they can be very noisey sometimes.
Liz I do use Corsydal but that did'nt seem to be doing any good so last night as I said I went on the Jamesons and held it on the tooth for as long as I could. I have a little left for tonight.
Missed my big breakfast today and shan'nt be able to have cheese and biccy's tonight either. Two faves of mine and easy to do for a Sunday. Oh had two fried egg and mushroom sandwiches with some baked beans which he always eats cold. I had a very small bowl of mushroom soup and one slice of white bread and butter.
Give those lovely dogs a big hug for me please Liz. Does Cassie share her duck? or keep it to herself?

Gill, I know that you have to present something pretty specific to the planning office before they can advise you on whether you'll need planning or just building regs. This I suspect will depend on the measurements of what you're hoping to put up. When we built our present home, OH did the plans for it, which saved us architects fees, but I know that he designed at least three options to be considered and then we both had a meeting with the planning officer to discuss these. It was quite a performance as we had to alter this and that before we got planning acceptance. After we started we then had to inform the building inspector at various stages who came out to check on footings and distances etc and to eventually sign the project off as satisfactory. Also the electrics had to be installed by a qualified electrician, the builder couldn't do it. Mind you this was for a bungalow and not just an extension, but it can be a bit of a performance so you need to get sound advice as to how to proceed. There are lots of sharks out there too so it's wise to check out anyone who you are planning to employ. Their credit ratings, reputation, that sort of stuff. Donkeys years ago we were renovating a property and we were taken for quite a nasty financial ride!! It was ok in the end as luckily we had insured the project, but it was a lesson learnt that we wouldn't want to repeat, and I'd hate anything like that to happen to anyone else. We're all stuffed to the gills!! The lunch was delicious. OH is having a snooze as is Stella!! Cas is pottering about no doubt looking for mischief!! Oh yes, very sad about Cilla Black.
