Soaps on, so I have washed and dried up, and out of the way till 9.00 pm. I don't know what's on Tele tonight, So I might just go and read.
We were on Skype to Conrad earlier, when he had a Helicopter go over. Then there was a sudden BANG. He thought it had crashed, but it turned out to be a house further over had it's roof fall in. Don't know all the ins and outs yet. He will no doubt find out tomorrow.
Glad you had a nice day yesterday Jane, and it should be nice to get away together next spring.
Poor little Thomas, I bet it did make him jump. Keep an eye on that Jane.
Good old Chris. doing a me !!! I have cut the tip of my index finger on my right hand. What a job using my knife to cut the meat on the plate.
It seems than when an appliance is ready to pack up, it plays hell with the electric. Then BANG it's Bugger## and you have to buy a new one. I must say this is a very posh kettle, in shining Black. The only trouble is the water level sign it right under the handle, where as the other was on the side, and much easier to read.
Mel how's that toothache ?? a lot easier now with the pain killers.
Gill, I think you will need a holiday after all the work you have been doing, and now the drains have to be lined. Lets hope that will be the end of it for you.
Off to get myself a cold beer. It's turned very warm since that wind has dropped. I have the conservatory door open and the lounge window open.
Might even jump in the shower tonight to freshen up. !!!

Mel the POA was set up ages ago when they made their wills, they only needed registering which is what is taking the time.
Jane OH is very concerned that reminding his dad of their anniversary will really unsettle him again....... the only trouble is MIL will probably send him a card at the home anyway. :-S She just has no understanding of these things, still thinks her going in hospital tipped him over the edge which is nonsense! OH rang someone who'd sent her a card to thank them the other day and she said that 12 months ago when she rang them, for some reason FIL picked the phone up and told her he didn't know her and swore nastily and told her to get off the phone!! It looks like he was having problems a long time ago that MIL didn't recognise as any more than his memory.
They spelt it out to MIL while OH was seeing her today that, although she's keen to go home ,she has to be prepared that any mess that occurs will have to wait to be cleared up till the next carer goes in. OH said she looked a bit taken aback at that, but what did she think would happen, especially in the night. They told her again she could go into a home, but she's adamant she will manage and said she has her buzzer. They told her that that would only inform a relative and that any emergency she had would need a paramedic. We don't even know whether she'll be able to get in and out of the new bed on her own yet. So tomorrow we'll go and make the bed up at her house ready for her discharge on Wednesday. She's fretting about where OH has placed the furniture and having chairs where she wants them for visitors, whereas his priorities are doing her shopping tomorrow and ringing around to get all the support in place again!
Oh poor Chris Jane, I think he needs some cordless hedge cutters. It rang a bell it had happened before as soon as you said about it! Then to slice his finger mending it....sets my teeth on edge just thinking about it!! Poor Thomas treading on a wasp. No wonder he jumped so high. I'd love to watch you dip his paw in vinegar!! lol. Methinks it would be you needing first aid and plasters after that.
Hopefully your drains will be a thing of the past this time tomorrow Gill! :-D
Forgot to say earlier that the music from the 'do' last night stopped at 10.00pm. I thought they had been considerate till a neighbour told OH this morning that he'd gone round and banged on their door!!! :-)
I fancy a bit of make and bake Mandy! I bet Chelsea is looking forward to it too.

Ann.OH has to ask the home not to give FIL any post delivered for him. He can't take the risk of a card arriving from MIL.The home Mum was in were very good with post and forwarded anything on to me.FIL will have no idea it is his wedding anniversary and that is just the best way to leave it.However hard it is and sad , FIL now at the moment needs no reminders of MIL and his marriage. It does sound cruel to say that, but having been down this road I just know it is far better to keep schtum. The dear man just needs to be able to live his life 'as it is now' without the trauma of probably very confusing memories...I hope I have explained what I mean correctly Ann.xx

I have only taken one co codamol as I know they make me constipated and I am anyway so don't need anymore things to stow me up!!!!!!! Not in pain now and I ate my dinner tonight. I have just one more antibiotic to take for the three today now and shall take that a bit later on.
Poor Thomas treading on the wasp. I hope he is ok and it did'nt sting him too much. Must be nice to have a holiday with your sister and Larry Jane. I am sure you will like that after so many years in between your last one and with no children this time around.
Gill one step nearer getting those drains sorted but what an early start for the call in the morning. I am still in the land of nod at that time.
Ann surely the home can be told to withold any mail that may come to FIL. He can't have that much mail delivered there if any. What about a card for MIL ???? do you think she is expecting there to be one from FIL? I'm sure she will not be able to manage on her own at home and you would really think the people looking after her at present would know that only too well. Does she have a lot of visitors usually to want the chairs in the right place? Wait till she finds out her furniture has gone!!!
Mandy who's next on the list for a day at grans? Give that Toby a big cuddle for me please.

Morning all
Dull day here and it looks like rain.
Well, it's 8am and no drains people yet, I asked them to ring me 15 minutes before they arrived and they didn't so I don't expect them to be here on time either.
I don't mind what time or day they come to do the job. I vary rarely go out so it makes no difference to me when the drains are fixed as at the moment they are clear and not causing me any problems anyway.
What a dilemma Ann with your in-laws anniversary coming up. Like Mel said MIL will be expecting a card off FIL and will no doubt have questions if she doesn't receive one. I think she might have a shock too when she returns home and her furniture isn't there. Hope it goes alright tomorrow.
How is Thomas today Jane, did you need to take him to the vet in the end?
Going to get a cuppa before the drains people arrive, they are already running late. I wouldn't mind but it was them who organised the time slot in the first place. Never mind I'm in all day, so there's no rush for me. BBL

Well, the drains people rang me at 8.20am, said they would be 5 minutes, then turned up 20 minutes later. I only know what time they arrived as I heard the van pull up on the drive and noticed them through the window, they haven't even told me they are here. I'm going to go out to them now incase they do a disappearing act again, like yesterday :-D :-D. Maybe I should buy them a watch LOL.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Dull a bit wet now and then and very windy. So not a nice day at all.
Gill you are having problems with these drain people. Have they now started the work or are you still waiting for them to set up?
We stayed in yesterday because there was a parcel coming but when it go t to 6pm oh tracked it and now it's not coming till today. You just cna't rely on people nowadays as Gill is finding out.
Roof of my mouth is a bit sore this morning but I think the swelling is going down. The soreness could be due to the pills I am taking. Just taken the first antibiotic of the day and then I shall have something to eat and take the rest of the usual ones I take each day.

Morning all, Evening Kim,
Another iffy night last night. In bed by 10.15. Had a read, then turned on the radio. A tune played was "I Did it my WAY" That was the song they played at my brother Bills funeral. That started the old brain box working. I laid until 1.30 and got up for a read. Went back in at 3.00 am. I was up and about by 7.30.
Oh Ann, what is going to be the outcome with MIL and FIL It's a terrible worry for you and Gordon, not knowing how she will cope at home on her own at night. If she was in hospital they could put sides up on her bed, in case she decided to go "WALK ABOUT" but at home, there is nothing you can do. My thoughts are with you both <3 <3
How's my mate Thomas this morning Jane. ?? No worse after his sting yesterday.
How's the drain med getting on Gill, will they be there all day ??
I trust you are feeling a bit better this morning Mel, and out of pain. I stopped taking those tablets for a while for that reason. !!!
Ros is in the back garden this morning. I don't know what she finds to do. She is as happy as "LARRY" while she's out there, she does love her garden. ;-) ;-)
Not sure what to expect from the weather today. It's very cloudy and that wind is still blowing.

Well guess who tripped ars# over head in the shower ?? I grabbed at the shower head and it crashed against the wall and broke off the jet adjuster. I found it on the shower floor and wondered what it was :-0 :-0 Then I realised. I suppose a new shower head will be on the cards now. MORE EXPENCE.
Miss your post Mel, lad the swelling has gone down in your mouth "keep taking the tablets" lol
These delivery people are the same all over. And the best of it is, they don't wait a minute to see if you are in, and just poke a card through the letterbox, and you have to rearrange a delivery date/time.
Ros is doing a stir fry tonight, so I have a nice lazy day.
Bit more blue sky around at the moment. Now to see if it lasts ;-) ;-) ;-)
Hows the drain men doing Gill.???

Afternoon All
The wind is a blowin' here. It's a strange day really as it doesn't seem to know if it is going to be sunny or stay cloudy all day. The decorator is busy up the ladder. We have moved the cars way back from the house as he said with the wind there could be spots of paint flying
Are they still there Gill? I hope they get all that is needed doing done today.
Thomas is fine thanks. No after effects from the sting. As usual he is off somewhere. He has had a mouse or something to eat as the inner bits were outside the summerhouse :-S Ros certainly loves to be out in her garden doesn't she :-D.All her hard work pays off though as it looks amazing.
I have just come downstairs from ironing, because Russell is doing the fascia outside the room where I was ironing and I feel uncomfortable being watched lol.Not that he would really notice me as he is so ficused on what he is doing. He really is getting around quite fast :-D
Mel I expect your mouth will start improving now :-D.I bet you can't wait for it to be less painful now.
I think I might do a bit of colouring while I wait to go back upstairs to the ironing :-)

Afternoon all
Glad to hear Thomas is ok Jane. Yes the drain men are still here. OH went out this morning to post the letter through the estate agents door giving the 14 days notice to take the bungalow off the market and then nipped to my mum's to see how she was. He took Sandra with him, so I decided to make a start on wrapping up Michelle's birthday and Christmas presents. One of the drains men came to the window to let me know not to use the water in the kitchen as they were about to put the first liner down.....You don't realise how many times you use your kitchen sink until you are not allowed to use it. Luckily I haven't forgotten, so no mis-haps from me so far :-D :-D.
I've asked the drain men if they can clean my patio as the first man who came jet washed the mess away and now there are squiggles and lines everywhere which look a mess. They said they would go and get some water and do it straight away, so I had to leave the presents and move the bins out of the way and some pot plants, then brush up. Well, they returned not long later and said they couldn't clean the patio because of all the water (no water can go down the drains until the liners are in) so I decided to touch up the paint on the bungalow wall as it was a bit dirty from where the pots were. The drain men are going to clean the patio after all the liners have gone in, so it's all ready for them now and the paint should be dry by then as well.
I've just come in from the garden and now I'm wrapping up the presents again. I feel like I've done a full days work already with getting up at 6.30am. I didn't have a very good nights sleep either Frank last night, I never do when I know I've got to be up early in the morning.
Sorry to hear you've had a fall, hope you are ok now. Can the shower head be fixed? Do you have grab rails in your shower? Maybe, if you haven't, you should think of having them put in or even one of those seats you can get.
Glad to hear your mouth is starting to feel a little better now Mel, you'll be back to normal soon with no more pain <3
Well, I'd better get back to wrapping up these presents, then get something to eat BBL <3

OMGoodness! This wind is just hideous!! A real gale!! The sun is out intermittently, which is keeping it warm and so I'm sitting out under our overhang . This morning we went shopping which seemed to take for ever, and got back just before 1pm. We've put it away, taken the dogs for a run and are having a sandwich for lunch! Frank, we saw on the news that the last dambuster has just died! It also showed him going up in 2006 in one of the last flying Lancasters! Along with the Spitfire, what a beautiful plane that Lancaster is was. I expect it'll be on the 6 o'clock news, so you might catch it then. We're not into cookery programmes at all Gill, so we won't be watching this particular program,, but I gather it's pretty popular. I'm spending this afternoon reading. I've just bought a new book on kindle and can't wait to start it. Hope your mouth feels better Mel, and that things are a little easier on the in law front, Ann

Yes mouth a bit better again today but I decided to give shopping a miss. I shall have to pop up the local shop for ciggies for oh though and perhaps a couple of bits for tomorrows lunch.
Glad to hear Thomas is ok after his sting and it dos'nt seem to have hampered him any in his hunting if you have had inards left outside the summerhouse.
Good your getting the patio washed as well Gill. so thats one job you won't have to do.Are those presents finished yet?
Wonder how Ann and Gordon are getting on today as I think it is tomorrow they let MIL home. I still think she is'nt going to cope. How is she going to get out of bed in the night if she needs to go to the bathroom? and then she has to get back into bed again. A friend of ours whose wife has MS bad has one of those beds and it look quite tall to me. I could'nt do it easily without nearly jumping up onto it sort of sideways!!! Ours is bad enough as if I sit on the edge my feet don't touch the floor they just dangle in the air. :-S
Meant to say I saw the fox eating the hog food last night but oh did'nt have the gun loaded and by the time he did it was gone. He told me off for not putting the camera out to see what time he turns up.

I picked a huge bunch of sweet peas this morning and they are on the windowsill behind me and I keep getting this lovely whiff float by. I had to tie them all up as the wind was blowing great gusts across them. It also blew my poor begonia sideways outside my shed so I had to move that and give it a drink too to give it a bit more weight.

Frank yet another fall and in the shower too. Could have been nasty. Are you ok or have you any black spots? What are we going to do with you? :-S :-S :-S
I hate picking up broken glass as you always think there is going to be a bit hiding somewhere for ages afterwards.
I was thinking the other day we used to have platic balls at school that had round holes in them. They were very light in weight. Do you know what I lean?

I know what you" lean" Mel, Lewis had some the size of golf balls which he use to hit on the lawn. They didn't go far !!!
The fall wasn't too bad, I just seemed to loose my balance. My stroke side hasn't been good these last few days, and I an finding it harder to get around on my legs. So I have been sitting in doors for the last couple of days, just going to the door to see if Ros wants a drink or anything, which I get her, then back to my armchair.
Liz I saw a bit about the Lancaster pilot. Yes they were a wonderful looking plane with that rear gunners canopy. It stood out a mile. Everybody seems to have things breaking on them. Never owned a Barometer, I rely on my senses (that's why I don't know what's happening outside) lol
Yes Mel, my thoughts have been with Ann and Gordon, I hope everything is O.K.
Ros said that the wind was so strong it almost blew her over (It must have been STRONG) :-D :-D :-D :-D I will deny I said that :-P :-P :-P
The bag of Mushroom Stir Fry from Tesc# was over half full of cabbage storks. Very few Bean shoots and other veg. I have blasted off an email.!!!
Did the Drain men get finished today Gill, or will they be back tomorrow. ??? It does seem strange hearing that you are packing Christmas Presents. Won't you be seeing your daughter at Christmas ???
Nat Geo and EDEN on now. Great programmes.
