Our lunch was delicious, and we're full to the brim!! Toad in the hole Mandy?! Yum, I haven't had that for years as it's not a favourite with OH. He likes batter and sausages!!! so what's the problem, I hear you say?! Well, you tell me!!!
Both dogs are peaceful, and we are about to have a snooze!

I see everyone's here now :-D

I decided to see what we had recorded on the set top box, we only use it as a back up normally incase the weather knocks S*y off, but sometimes we need to use it if we want to record more than two things at the same time and we have lots of interesting programs on there I'd forgotten about. At the moment we are watching Superscrimpers Christmas Special from last Christmas. Sandra loves Christmas and spotted it as I was going through the list, there is another Christmas one as well......so guess what we'll be watching later? :-D :-D.

Yes it is forecast to rain tomorrow and Tuesday Mandy so maybe a trip out in the rain isn't a good idea. I believe it's going to be drier for the rest of the week though.
So squirrels like sugar then, I didn't know that......I suppose they'll get a good feast out of the flowers then?

What a pity you didn't get your ploughman's Frank, it did sound like you had a good day apart from that. So you're cooking up a storm today then, you'll have enough for several meals with the amount you are making LOL.

So Thomas has made Hannah's bed his now then has he? Shame he doesn't know what a lay in is LOL and is still waking you up early.

The cake is all done and finished and I'm just about to dish up lunch. The sun has made an appearance again and it's quite hot in the kitchen now.

Better go and dish up

Shame you missed out on the Ploughmans Frank .But I bet the cream tea was good :-D
Sounds like a real delicious meal today. You won't be able to move after that lot lol

Mandy it might be a washout tomorrow .It seems like we might get a fair bit of rain.
I nearly did Toad in the hole the other night.I was going to do a red onion and red wine gravy to go with it ,but couldn't find the recipe. So it was just basic Sausages .I can't think what we had to go with them now.
Chris is finally awake and up and about. He has had a shower and is now having a wander around the garden.I think he will just be chilling for the rest of the day.He said he didn't have his hat on yesterday when he was doing the hedges so I think he must have just had too much sun and maybe a touch of sun sroke.Silly so and so for not having the hat on.He is desperate to get that hedge done ,but as I said it isn't going anywhere so will still be there in a few days :-D

Liz just cook sausages and the batter separately for OH .LOL

The Squirrels have dinner on a plate then Mandy at the Crem :-D :-D

Bet Liz ,OH and the dogs are snoring their heads of now :-D :-D

Oh poor Chris grtting to much sun ,you don't realise how quickly the sun can get to you and it has been hot the last few days.

Yesterday i nodded off in the garden chair ,when i woke up my left foot had gone numb !! i couldn't stand up until the feeling came back ,i kept trying to move it but it was like i had no control over it ,it did feel odd.

Time for a cuppa i think.

My car roof and oh's is covered in flying emits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jane

Jane Report 9 Aug 2015 16:25

We have only seen a few of them Mel .Not in the great numbers we would normally see(I take it is flying Ants???).Maybe we have missed the eruptions as they come out of the ground.Horrible creatures :-S

I have been trying ot get on Ancestry for ages with no success.I thought maybe my subs had run out.Tried ringing them to see if I needed to renew and just got that 'music'.While I was hanging on I tried again to get on to the site and Bingo I could. So I don't know what was going on there. Very strange :-S
I might just go and pick some more beans. They are just so good at the moment .Crisp and sweet after just 4-5 minutes in the pan :-D.It only takes a day or too without picking and they seem to have grown so big and not so tender.

It's taken me ages top read all your posts. I had'nt realised everyone had posted so much.

We've had our big breakfast and I thoughly enjoyed it this week as I missed it last week being ill.

I see Frank is cooking up a feast again for Carolyn and co ltd. Sounds great and I wish I was going.

It has been grey all day here so thoe of you who have sunshine enjoy it as I am sending you my weather tomorrow. We've had a little tiny bit of rain but nothing to really go anywhere if you know what I mean.

Oh is snoring away in the bedroom so I have kept myself quiet as he is usually up by 5am. I see my camera is on the windowsill so he has probably been trying to get a good pick of the two deer together.

It was good that MIL had a better night last night Ann. Hope she is getting more into a routine at home now and getting used to the times the carers come in.

Sounds like you had a nice mosey around yesterday afternoon Frank but a shame no ploughmans was available but a cream tea was at least something nice to eat to fill that hole.

I wish the birds would come and eat all these flying emits off the cars as I have to go and corn the chickens in a min and don't fancy walking past that lot and getting them up my nose and on my clothes.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Aug 2015 19:08

Yes I agree with Liz on that one! :-)

Mandy it is always the same even when oh does a bar b q he keeps asking me for a covered bowl or the tonges and a cloth and have you done the salad etc in the end it would be just as well for me to have done it all in the first place but he won't let me bar b q and then after you have all the washing up!!!!!!! :-S

Jane

Jane Report 9 Aug 2015 19:36

Ha Ha !!! Liz he knows what he would get if he even suggested that LOL He might very well think it though :-S..That's fine as long as he doesn't voice it :-D :-D

Thomas has just eaten yet another blooming mouse :-S :-S..He is due his worming stuff today. But I think that is a job for tomorrow now.
I think it is 'mad time ' now .I can see it in his eyes !!!! ..I just want to sit down and let dinner go down .

Annx Report 9 Aug 2015 20:42

Evening All,

I see Frank has been doing one of his banquets that would last me 2 days!! lol. All sounding delicious as usual. :-)

I had to chuckle about your OH Mandy! :-) It sounded just like a conversation we would have here! By the time you've answered all the questions or found things for them.......you could have done it yourself ! lol.

MIL said she had an awful day yesterday when OH rang her today. She said she thought she'd be fine once she got home but feels weaker now than when she went in hospital and is struggling to get in and out of bed and feels exhausted and breathless. She kept saying she didn't think it would be like that and OH thinks she may be ready to change her mind about being there soon. When he sees the macmillan nurse tomorrow he is hoping she will add her views too. Apparently we have 2 macmillan nurses, but the other one is on holiday now and they don't work weekends and have a 4 day week. They aren't as available as we thought.

We popped to see FIL this afternoon and he seems a little more bent and slower walking, but at least he's still on his feet and looked clean and tidy and had had his hair cut! He was happy to see us and we got him talking about his war years and time he spent in Berlin which he seemed to really enjoy and was chuckling away at times, telling us how the germans had a grass runway that they put artificial cows on so it looked like a field. Not sure if it was true but may well have been! Five minutes later he was telling us again which is only to be expected. He kept asking how we were and barely mentioned MIL, so we didn't say much about the situation either. He wanted to know what had happened to all his things so we could reassure him about that and said he was fine there and to pop in again but just when we were passing as fuel is expensive. :-) We had another look at his room while we were there and the photos in frames OH took him are face down on the chest of drawers. The carer said he finds it upsetting to look at them yet.

The bedroom curtains are up and my back knows it! What do you ladies do with the heading cords on them after you have pulled them up to adjust the width? You can't cut them as they need to be let out again when they are cleaned. I tend to end up with a bulky knot that is hard to hide!! :-S

Tomorrow I 'm starting on the kitchen clearout as it is bin day the day after so there won't be old food lying in the bin for ages. It is a good job to do while OH is out so he can't 'rescue' what I throw away. ;-)

Frank

Frank Report 9 Aug 2015 21:05

Evening all, I thought I had better pop in, otherwise you would be worried !!!

The meal was a complete success. I had to ring Carolyn to come early as everything was getting close to be ready. Everything went apart from a few peas and carrots. Ros did strawberry's and cream, followed by cheese and biscuits.

John and I managed almost two bottles of RED. Enough for me tonight. before bed, which won't be long, the way I am feeling. I have worked my socks off today.

You all seem to be having a go AT US MEN. I am the only one on here to defend our race. Leave us alone we are harmless. !!!

I'm off for a glass on red then into bed for a read and a bit of radio.

Sweet dreams to you lovely ladies, see you in the morning. <3 <3 <3

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 9 Aug 2015 21:38

Frank I think you are an exception to the rest of the men.

I think oh has hurt his back again but he will never tell me. I seee him looking very stiff and walking very slowly and if I watch him he just stands still till I look away. He has been like it since he had that sleep after breakfast.

Ann FIL knows those pictures are there for him when he wishes to look at them. As to MIL she is only telling you what you already knew that she would'nt be best off at home but I don't think she is the kind of lady to say she was wrong in wanting to go home. So what days will the nurses come if they only do 4 days a week?

Glad you got the curtains done and hung. I usually try to thread that great bit of string across the hooks the curtain hangs on so its out of the way and try to remeber to put it at the end they join the wall if you know what I mean.

MillymollyAmanda

MillymollyAmanda Report 9 Aug 2015 21:39

Well at least you will be able to put MIL's mind to rest that FIL has had his hair cut :-D
It would be good if the Macmillan nurse could get MIL to change her mind about being some where where she will be more comfortable .

Ann, i tuck the cords from the curtain in behind the header tape ,the end is usually open so you just need to push it in .

Glad they enjoyed your meal Frank ,it's nice to see clean plates and know it was enjoyed by all ,makes all the effort well worth it .

We sat outside until about nine it was lovely out and we were watching a couple of Dragon Flies in fact i think there might have been three !!
