Just picked another huge bunch of sweet peas and walked in with them to which oh handed me a pound coin and took them from me and then handed them back to me and said "It's a long while since I bought you a bunch of flowers".

Yes and so could I come to think of it.
Oh said to get some simple for dinner but I don't know what to do. If we had'nt had bacon sarnies for lunch I could have done bacon egg beans and mushrooms but thats out now.
Shall have to go down the freezer. I know I have burgers in there but I don't fancy those.

Cheeky old BUGG## Mel, I must try that next time Ros picks flowers. :-D :-D :-D
We had a few spots of rain about 4.00 pm. Then a good shower about 5.30 NOW it's raining quite heavy.
I think I mentioned that Val's son came and built a raised bed at the bottom of their garden. I called it "THE COFFIN" It's about 8 ft long 3 ft wide and about 4 foot deep. They could both go in there when the time is right :-D :-D :-D. That's what all the soil is for. He carried about 10 bucket's full down this morning, and was that for the day. If this rain continues (as they promise) the earth on his drive could get washed into his next door neighbours drive, as his is a lot higher than hers. Then we will have a song and dance, sweeping all the slush away. She has her garden all covered in gravel. So nowhere for it to go. !!! Watch this SPACE.
All these sleepy heads, If I went to bed in the afternoon, there would be no way I would sleep at night.
Glad MIL is a bit more settled now Ann. You enjoy your coffee with the beading ladies tomorrow.
If anyone wants the Telephone No. of the service people. Let me know and I will pm you or email you.
The cat has slept all day, just woke up and wants feeding. What a life !!!
Ros was in the garden until it rained, she has cut back some of the bushes. The green bin is now full, and won't get emptied till Tuesday Week. So the neighbours bins will have to be used.
She did a very nice Stir Fry this evening which all got eaten, I am now full to the gills.
Not much on T.V. tonight so will look through the channels and see what I fancy. Ros has had one and a half hours of soaps, so it's my time now. !! ;-) ;-) ;-)

Evening all
Raining here after a dry day, just seen a hedgehog at the bottom of the garden and it was still light, normally they are around after dark.
Glad to hear your MIL is sorted now Ann, that will be less stressful for you and your OH.
It sounds like you and Jane had a nice lunch with Fitz yesterday with plenty of laughter......that will have done you the world of good. Laughter is suppose to be the best medicine, or so they say.
So much for my early night last night, OH and I went outside for a few hours and watch the meteor shower, it was really good with some really bright ones and blue flashes in the sky. We were very lucky as there wasn't a cloud anywhere. Problem was it was a bit cold so we carried on watching from the kitchen window with a cup of tea to warm us up. Needless to say we are both really tired now as we were up early this morning so will definitely be having an early night tonight.
I've had a great day, buying some new clothes. I've lost so much weight lately that I'm now a size 8 and was desperate for clothes that actually fit me, so I ended up with three pairs of jeans two tops and a skirt. The skirt is a bit to long so I'm thinking of making it into a shorter dress instead.
I've been thinking about your idea of a hobby Frank and think I might see if I can teach myself to make clothes as there was so many really nice ones in the shops but they didn't have my size, so I thought if I could make them then they would fit and also I might look into altering clothes too then I can buy the bigger size and alter it down to fit.
Who do you think you are is starting now, it's Paul Hollywood, the male judge of the bake off program I watch. So I'll get off and watch it now, then have an early night.
See you all tomorrow <3

Morning all and evening Kim,
Wet wet wet this morning yes it's raining quite hard. Oh is out so I am on standby incase a phone calls comes about the new mower deck delivery. It's a mulching deck which cuts the gras in littlwe peices and chucks it back down in the ground or something like that. It's so he can cut the top field.
It is supposed to brighten up here this afternoon and I hope their right.
Can't believe it is Friday again.................................I seem to have been so busy this week has just flown by.
I forgot to shut the bantams in last night as they were mucking about when I fed the hogs and dinner was on the table and I thought I would do it afterwards and completely forgot. I have seen 6 of them 4 hens and the two cockrels so I know there are some left. But where are the other 4??

Not too bad here this morning, it rained in the night, but nothing dramatic! Now it's just drizzling, no wind to speak of and quite warm! We had such a good evening with son and partner, they came about 7pm, and didn't go till just after midnight!! We chatted and laughed so much mostly about family stuff and drank?!!! A good thing we did plenty of food as son can eat for England,! Today OH has an appointment at the Audiology dept for a hearing test, not before time as he is getting deafer by the day! Hopefully his hearing aids can be beefed up a bit! Mel, it must be real pain your leccy going off at the drop of a hat, do your neighbours have the same problem? Perhaps a complaint to your supplier might do some good! Feel a bit jaded this morning! Thank goodness for the dishwasher!!

Liz when I first moved here our leccy box was in a shed right out the front by the village hall which is where we drive in. I remember once we had a thunder storm and the leccy went out and I had to drive right up the top to turn it back on again. Our leccy came all the way down the garden above ground from a pole to the garden wall which is about 12ft high and if you turned the kettle on when the lights were on the lights dimmed quite a bit so mum had it all put underground and the new box in the cupboard in the kitchen. The box is very senitive so thats why it goes out. Oh said we should really have a bigger box but I can't be doing with that.

Morning all
Rain, rain and more rain today and it doesn't look like it's going to stop. Good job I don't need to go out today.
We had our leccy box upgraded and it only takes a few minutes Mel, with no fuss or disruption. All they do is change a part inside, sorry can't remember what it's called, but it's like a plug with the wattage on it, to a bigger size to take more power going through it and it works a treat. We can now turn more things on at the same time without it tripping out all the time and it didn't cost much either, just a few pounds. It might be worth looking into then you wouldn't have so many problems with it going out all the time. Glad to hear you have seen all 10 of your bantams now. Just remember to lock them in tonight ;-) ;-) <3
Chatting with Michelle online in half an hour. She seems to want to chat more lately although she still talks about herself quite a bit. Well, at least that way I know what's going on in her life. :-)
Going to get a cuppa now BBL

Oh right, I see Mel what your dilemma is! I suppose like lots of things you can learn to live with it! Raining hard here now, so no watering, hooray! both girls asleep, so peace reigns! It's nice to chat to your daughter on a regular basis Gill; as you say, that way you do know how her life is going, and it's pleasant for you. Hope things are progressing reasonably well with you in laws Ann. At least they are both being cared for properly.

I'm trying to chat with Michelle online but she must be having problems with her laptop as her messages are hardly coming through and I haven't had one for ages now. Maybe she's trying to sort the problem out and then she'll get back to me, so while I'm waiting I'm looking for tutorials on how to make clothes online

Morning all, Evening Kim,
Silly you Mel. Mr Foxy could have had a nice feast last night. !!!
Unusual to see you around this early Liz. Glad you had a good evening with your Son and his Partner.
Our Electric has a box, full of fuses with a trip switch. Each fuse is for various things. So if there is a fault the trip goes and the fuse switch goes off too. That's how I knew the kettle was playing up.
"Oh what a night it was " I tried to sit up late, 11.00 pm. Read my book and had the radio on. Settled down for midnight. Still awake when Ros came in 1.15 am. Laid staring at the ceiling until 2.15 then got up. Sat and read till 4.00 Went back to bed and the noise from the rain kept me awake, It was hammering against the bedroom window. I must have dropped of because the next thing I knew it was 7.15 am. Ros got up and made me tea in bed. I know feel ready for a KIP. !!!
Fine drizzle here now and almost "DARK" so no going out to play today :-D :-D :-D
Gill do you have a sewing machine or will you make things "BY HAND" ??? It will be something to occupy your time, while being indoors with Sandra.
I am looking for a V E Mug like the one I was given on VE day in 1945, I managed to find a VJ (victory in Japan) Mug. that now sits in the glass cabinet with other bits that I have collected. One of my children must have had mine when my MUM died. I will keep looking on Ebay, who knows someone out there might have one ;-) ;-) ;-)

I'll be doing it all by hand for now Frank, I'd like a sewing machine but they are quite expensive and there's so many different ones out there I wouldn't know which one to get. I like the idea of altering clothes more than making them from scratch as I think that might be easier to start with plus if I bought a pattern to make something from, chances are it wouldn't fit me properly, at least if I have something to start with I can pin it until it fits properly then sew it into place.......Well, that the plan anyway. I just need to find something online to help me to get started, which isn't as easy as you think. I've been trying all morning and haven't found anything yet.
Michelle must of sorted her laptop out as her messages are coming through quite quickly now.
Oh, just heard another one come through, better go and read it :-)

Gill, you can buy very good reconditioned sewing machines very reasonably. If you go on line there is a wide choice from the basic easy to use models to much more expensive ones that do embroidery and other more complicated things. Also if you go to a haberdashery shop they usually have good second hand ones for sale. We got ours like this a few years ago when our daughter 'borrowed' ours on permanent loan!!! I think you'd find using a machine much easier and quicker than sewing by hand, which can take for ages!! Still raining here! OH has left for his hearing test, and I'm about to start a new book! Scrambled eggs for us tonight as we're still full up from yesterday!!

Thanks Liz, I didn't know Haberdashery shops had second hand ones, I need to know what I'm doing first, before I invest in one though.
Michelle is a trained seamstress so she's just been trying to explain things to me. Well, about darts as she thinks that will help to make things fit me better if I go down the altering route. The only problem is I'm not sure about everything she was talking about, I didn't realise there are lots of different types of darts so I'll be Googling them all this afternoon........I really need to get out more LOL :-D :-D
It would be good if I can learn how to alter clothes and then maybe make them from scratch, as it would save me a fortune in the long run. I have a long skirt I'd like to make into a short dress, so maybe I'll start with that and see how I get on ;-) ;-) Not sure how to shape the top part though so will check out the internet and see if anyone has any video's I could watch that might help <3
