Cracking photo Ann :-D :-D...It looks like you might have been wearing Culottes .I seem to recall wearing them around that time.
I am off for this shower now and then hopefully Thomas will have appeared .
See you all tomorrow xx

Frank I hope tonight you will manage another good sleep without a double dose :-D

Yes I think those tops were called skinny ribs weren't they Mandy. I can remember having a long sleeved fuschia coloured one I wore with a similar flower printed black corduroy skirt. If only I had the tum a skinny rib would skim over now!! :-S I'm sure I thought I was far too fat then as well. :-S

Off to bed myself now.....we are going to try the new story with Tommy and Tuppence now that I've recorded. I hope it's more believable than the last one. Night night all.

I've just taken a look at the wreath you were talking about Mandy, isn't it beautiful? Michelle bought be lots of Kath Kidston squares ages ago, about 100 of them and I was wondering what to do with them, so I think I'll use them for the wreath, I have a lot of greens, reds and whites plus a few pinks, as I noticed there were pinks in the wreath too. It's so easy to do isn't it?

I've tried to find the beading section on the site Ann, but I can't seem to find it now, if I do, I'll send you the link. Thanks for the pic, you look lovely. I remember wearing skinny rib tops in the 70's too, but not the mini skirts. I was to young and mum wouldn't let me wear them, but I did wear an A Line skirt though which was a bit longer.

Off to bed myself now, see you all in the morning
Night Night

I'm still up. I have struggled throughout the afternoon to stay awake. So no tablet tonight and I hope I will sleep well. I must not do that again !! I have been no good to man nor beast today.

Thanks for your nice comments about me as a YOUNGER MAN.!!!

You are a clumsy thing Jane, I can just imagine the mess and smell in your kitchen.

Ann, Tell Gordon "JUST BE THERE" for his MUM. I know how hard it must be for him, and my thoughts are with him <3 <3 <3

Gill you will be the best dressed "GIRL" in the Wirrell, with all this dress making.

I'm off to the land of NOD now, so see you all in the morning.

GOOD NIGHT.

I like the back to front number plate on the car Ann. I remember having a plum coloured mini skirt with a wide belt in the same material. I wore a lot of dresses in those days as mum was in the business. I member the first skirt mum made me to go out with the gang when I was 14 or 15. It was a patterned cotton mainly in blue with some pink flowers here and there and it was a twist skirt. It had these big pleates on the bottom 10 inches. Box pleates and she bought me a pale pink v neck thin jumper to go with it. I thought I was the bees knees.

Been in the garden today most of the day. Did one lot of washing before lunch and forgot to put it out!!!! It's out there now so I hope it dos'nt rain tonight. Took me ages to tie up the sweet peas and then I did'nt feed them. Must do that in the morning.

I cleaned out the chicken drinkers and gave thema nice big bowl of grit.

Swept more of the road, well thats a lie really oh swept it up into piles and I picked the piles up and did a bit of sweeping where he had missed. Two barrow loads we got up!!

Cleaned out the hog house that I feed them in sown at Prickly Hollow and washed all the bowls all 8 of them. Fed the fish twice today as they seemed to be hungry again when I went past them.

Oh's big pond is still leaking badly and I think it is going to be a new liner and an above ground swimming pool to keep the fish in while he does it.

I am glad MIL in more comfortable now Ann and not in pain but it does seem as though the morphine is making her a bit muddled.

I must have a look at this wreath your talking about.

Signing out now and hoping Frank has a good nights sleep tonight and feels fresher in the morning.

Night night.

Morning all and evening KIm,

Lovely sunny morning and the birds are all singing their heads off.

Oh is trying to get a big roller to hire to roll the top field as our annual dog show is in a couple of weeks time. We have been having it topped by a neighbour but it now has big ruts in it from the tractor wheels as its been so wet.

We are also trying to sort out this pond of his so all in all it is very mentally tiring. Would'nt be so bad if the fish were'nt so big!! but Bertha is the size of a salmon now or even bigger and the others arn'nt far behind.

Afternoon all, Where is everybody apart from Auntie Mel.???

Well it didn't work for me last night AGAIN. Ros came to bed at q12,30 Early for her. I was wide awake after being there since 10.30 pm I laid determined I was not going to get up. I lasted looked at the clock at 2.53 am. Slept until 6.45.

The cat has had the wind up her bum. Flying up and down, and diving on my bare feet. Oh that does hurt !!! She's worn herself out now and is asleep on the chair under the table

Bed all changed and on the line. I will have to keep an eye on that as Ros is having her nails done at 2.00 pm..

She spent most of the day in the greenhouse yesterday, cutting away all the leaves on the tomato's and cleaning the trays.

Mel you and oh are very good rolling and cutting the field for the dog show. I hope they appreciate all your contribution to their day !!!

How's things this morning/Afternoon Ann. ?? I trust both MIL AND FIL had a good night, and that Gordon isn't to knackered. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Any new dress's Gill. Now you have the bug it's anyone' s guess how many you will make. especially as you are getting nice compliments from your husband <3 <3 <3.

The weather is looking a bit iffy. Lots of cloud and no breeze. The washing is just hanging there waiting for the rain.

Afternoon all

Sorry to hear you had another bad nights sleep Frank. Hope it improves soon for you, taking extra sleepers might do you more harm than good if you do it to often.

I think I've found the link for the beading website Ann, so I've emailed it to you. Hope everything is ok with MIL and FIL and you and Gordon are managing to have some quality time together. You both need it.

It sounds like you and your OH are going to have a busy time of it out in the garden Mel. I hope the weather is good for you. It's lovely sunshine here, I could share it with you if you haven't got any sun ;-)

I had a problem with my computer this morning so I've only just got online. I was having so many problems that I run a bath while I was waiting for it to sort itself out, which is now ready, then I'm off out to pay the £50 excess into the drains people's account.

Apparently you can't pay over the phone......how silly is that? So now I've got to go to the bank and transfer it and to top it all off the drains company sent me two letters both with different bank account numbers on them, so I've had to ring them this morning to find out which is the correct one. It would be nice if they could drag themselves into the 21st century then I would of paid them over the phone.
So I thought while I was out I'll take a quick look in the Charity shops to see if I can find some long skirts to make into dresses.

Well, better go and get my bath, I got all hot and bothered hovering this morning

Well sheets and pillow cases dry enough to iron. Only a few bits still on the line. I asked Madam if I could do the ironing while she was out. A DEFFINATE NO was the reply..

I knew it Gill, once you got the "bee in the bonnet" there would be no stopping you. Do I see you might be taking up "BEADING". You will need lots of bits and bobs for that. Ros and Ann, and I think Mel, will tell you that. !!! You won't have time for all this housework and CAKE BAKING then ;-) ;-) ;-)

I have just tripped down the patio steps, fortunately I managed to keep my footing, but only after I reached the bottom of the lawn. :-D :-D :-D STOP LAUGHING you LOT !!!!

Dinner already for tonight Beef sliced up in onions and gravy with halved potato's on top. It will need about two hours in the oven. The potato's come out all nice and crispy on top and nice and soft underneath. The meat with melt in your mouth with a nice onion gravy. Runners from the garden and sweetheart cabbage.

I am now going to watch EDEN or Nat Geo. for a while, then a read of my book.

Afternoon All,

Many thanks for the link Gill. It has some nice things on it and already I think I shall be making the Bunting necklace! :-) It is a nuisance when you have to go back to the old fashioned way of paying things. OH grumbles because all of his customers except one pay him straight into his bank. The other isn't set up to do it so he has to go to his bank (which he's just changing to a nearer local one) and pay parking to go and pay the cheque in. We've had to change quite a few of MIL and FIL's way of paying their bills. I don't think MIL was keen, but they were still operating like the 1950s when you went in person to pay the rates, electric, gas etc. Blow that for a game of soldiers!!!

OH is stuck in a traffic jam going to see his mum. We said this morning how much traffic was in the village. Huge great lorries towing great big trailers through the narrow roads in the oldest part of the village. It can't be good for the old buildings either side.

It sounds like your bodyclock has gone to pot now Frank! I'm not getting off to sleep very well lately, but the new thinner duvet (3 tog) helps me keep cooler on the hot nights.

Mel, what a shame you can't repair the big pond without emptying it. I don't suppose you can find where it is leaking without emptying it though and even then it could be tricky spotting it if it is a tiny leak. That will be a bit of a game moving big Bertha and her pals!!! I suppose you will need to do it quickly once you start as well as Koi will need the aeration and filters. It is good that you do the work on the field to make it better for the dog show. Do you let someone else use the field the rest of the time?

Annx

Annx Report 17 Aug 2015 14:56

I'm drooling for your beans Frank! You must be more careful with the steps or you could have a nasty fall one of these days. Could you have a ramp or slope instead?

Gillx

Gillx Report 17 Aug 2015 14:58

No Frank, I'm not doing the beading, I noticed a website yesterday that I thought Ann would be interested in. I couldn't find it again yesterday, but found it this morning and have emailed her the link.

I'm quite happy with my sewing for now and I couldn't give up my baking.....Housework on the other hand... :-D :-D :-D I could easily give that up lol.

So you nearly had another fall.....You're really not safe to be left alone are you? LOL

Going to dry my hair now and get off to the shops and bank

Gillx Report 17 Aug 2015 15:03

Hi Ann didn't see you there, glad the website is of some use to you.
I didn't know you could still pay your bills the way your MIL does, it's so much easier to do it through the bank isn't it?

OH was on his way home the other day and noticed a box on someone's wall with a note saying "FREE TO GOOD HOME" and in it was some runners, he brought a big bag of them home with him and we had them with our Sunday Lunch......delicious they were too. :-D :-D

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 17 Aug 2015 15:46

How nice to get some free runners Gill.

Ann how was MIL today and does G go to see his father on the same days or is that just a couple of times a week?

Frank you are a naughty boy keep tripping yourself up. You must hang on to the arch as you go down those steps.

No the field is not used for anything else now just the dog show nce a year. We have held fetes on it before for the bell fund but it is too much work for oh now to set everything up. All the villagers are getting rather old now too including us and we were a couple of the younger ones when we started doing these kind of things.

I still hav'nt looked at that web site to see the wreath!!

Must get the washing on the line whist the suns still at full pelt here.

Afternoon All,

Lovely sunny day here, just got back from doing coffee duty down at the church centre, so thought I would have a chat then spend some time in the back garden.

Hope everyone one is ok. OH off work for the next 2 weeks starting tomorrow, we won't be going away anywhere , but will have the odd day out , may go up to Loch Lomond they have a great shopping centre up there, where I can buy size 2 shoes, and have a nosey round the other shops too,

Frank

Frank Report 17 Aug 2015 17:12

Size TWO shoes Fiona. They are small. My DIL is a shoe collector (SHE'S ALWAYS BUYING SHOES) I thought she had small feet with size FOUR. Ros is SIX or SEVEN. I think most women are SIX. Glad you are getting out and about. How's the head pains now ???

How far are you from Loch Lomond ??? Do you take the high road or the low road :-D :-D :-D ( I always think of that song when I see Loch Lomond ;-) ;-) ;-)

It's a real dull day here now, I expected to see rain, but it hasn't shown yet.

The cat has just woken up, and is pushing herself around my legs, her tail is tickling my legs. !!!

You were lucky with your beans Gill. I tend to eat a lot while there are so many, and give them to neighbours. I don't like them when they have been frozen.

Ann, Let's have the beading site link. Ros might be interested, I know she buys a lot on the Jewellery channel, when I have gone to bed at night. (No wonder I don't sleep, worrying how much she is spending :-D :-D :-D)

I had thought of having a slope put in where the steps are, but it will go a fair way into the lawn, which will make it more difficult to mow the lawn. I might have to put "A LIFT IN" :-0 :-0 :-D :-D :-D :-D

Ros has the ironing board up and is busy ploughing through the basket of washing. Dinner won't be ready until about 6.30 pm so will give her time to get most if not all of it done.

Not sure if I will go and watch football tonight. Liverpool V Bournemouth.(new boys in the Premiership)

Evening all,

It's been nice and sunny here and quite warm ,got all my bedding dry as there has been a good blow today ,the ironing can wait until tomorrow .

Oh yes skinny ribs ,i had forgotten they were called that ,they did cling a bit in all the right places :-D

Gill those Kath Kidston squares will be just right for making the wreath ,you have plenty to use if you have a hundred ,yes i thought it looked nice and easy to do .
Did you find much you could use from the charity shop ?
I'd like the link for the beading site to please .

So you still haven't got your good nights sleep then Frank, you must be dead on your feet !! i see you took a" trip " down the garden today ,could you put a hand rail of some sort there just to help you down the steps ?

Mel, it sounds like it will be a big job getting the fish out of the pond and into some thing while the pond liner is replaced ,Big Bertha sounds huge !! you need some deep pool to keep her and the others while the work is done !!
I suppose once the pond is empty you might be able to find the leak and perhaps be able to repair it ,if not i suppose it's more expense buying another liner !!!

That's tiny feet you have Fiona !! i hope you get some good weather the next couple of weeks so you can have some nice days out .

We had our second lot of runners tonight and very nice they were too ,you were lucky Gill getting the free runner beans ,you'll have to get OH to check there again and see if there's any more been put out ,it was nice of the people to give them away much better than them going to waste !!

Just up the border and oh was in the house and I heard him shout out to which the bantams started kicking up a racket. I have never moved right down the garden so fast for years. Shot round the back of the bungalow and some of the hens were coming towards me so got them in the garden in front and went further out the back and there was two cocks a a hen and the young fox sitting on a pile of earth. I clapped my hands and scared it off not seeing oh above the fence with the gun in his hands. He had the perfect shot and I chased it away................ :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(
