I pressed the submit button by mistake ;-) ;-) Silly old duffer I hear you say !!!
You seem to have the bug now Gill. You will have more dress's than M & S lol
What time did you let Thomas in Jane ?? our little visitor sat looking through the glass of the lounge door when I got out at 8.00 am so I let her in the bedroom. She played with me for ages. Ros was worried she might try to get out of the bedroom window. I said she would never get up there with all your makeup on the window sill. It's packed from end to end with mirrors and make up. It takes her ages to clear it all off when she cleans the inside of the window. Then it all goes back again :-| :-| :-|
Chicken casserole tonight with mash and RUNNERS. The casserole has loads of vegetables in it already.
Good job Gill, Mel and I have been on otherwise the thread would be dead today.

Glad to hear your FIL has settled a bit now Ann. It sounds like he was pleased to see you and not so stressed as he has been in the past. It looks like the meds are working for him, so that's good.
I haven't heard that saying for a long time Frank. My mum used to say "SKY BLUE PINK WITH A FINNY ADDY BORDER" I've just looked up the saying to see what it means and apparently it's a northern expression and the finny addy is a corruption of Finnan Haddock. A type of cold-cured SMOKED FISH, named after Findon in Scotland. I guess the yellowish colour was the reason for it's inclusion in this saying. My step granddad was Scottish, so maybe mum heard the saying off him.
There you go, I've learnt something new today and passed it on to everyone else LOL :-D
I have quite a few dresses Frank, but haven't wore some of them and now they are to big, so I thought I would alter them so I can wear them, plus it gives me something to do.
It's still raining here, that fine rain that gets everywhere but not enough to really water the pots. It sounds like you've been busy preparing your paintwork, it's reminded me that our garage door needs re-painting too. The paint has flaked a bit at the bottom. Can't get it done at the moment with the rain, but it will need doing before the winter sets in.
Well, Sandra's waiting to watch a film I recorded, so I'd better get back to her. I'll root out the SKY BLUE PINK RIBBONS for you Frank ;-) How many would you like? LOL :-D :-D :-D

Well we have the rain here now !! Looks like it could be around a long time.
Glad I didn't start painting the Garage door, or it would be ruined with this rain. Then I would have to start all again.
Ros thought she would "BOTTOM" out the kitchen this afternoon, After hovering and using the steam mop, she opened the door to let the air dry it off. All going great, when for some reason she opened a cupboard door and out fell a JAR OF CURRY SAUCE. Smashed all over the clean floor and glass splinters went everywhere. I went and cleared it all up and hovered again to make sure there was no bits of glass anywhere. She steamed the floor again !!!!
Ros just went into the bedroom for something and the cat followed, jumping up onto the bed and plonking her BUM right in the middle of my back rest for when I am reading in bed. Talk about SPOILT . Will miss her when she goes home.
Haven't heard that saying before Gill, so we have learnt something new today.
The car has had it's oil and filter done, and checked all the lights and levels. So that's out of the way for another year. We only do about 5/6,000 miles a year. So and oil and filter is all it gets once a year. Next year I might have a full one again, just to be sure the brake fluid is changed and the gear box oil.
Dinner is smelling nice, so will go and check on it and put the Pots on and Beans.
Hope all the others are o.k. Where have they been. ???

Iv'e heard of sky blue pink but not the last bit Gill put up.
I am having a go at the room divider with all the china on it. Jane and Ann will know what I mean. So far I have washed 4 sections and their bits out of 12 so I better get cracking on the rest in a min.
Still raining that fine rain Gill was talkig about here but it has just brightened up a little, well the sky seems lighter anyway.
Just having a cuppa as oh came out and wanted a coffee. He said we hav'nt herd much about global warming this year have we?
Ann it sounds like FIL is quite happy where he is and has settled into his new routine. Is his friend still there? It does sound as though he is more with it and knows who people are now and good he knows Gordon is not on his own.......bless. It must be more relaxing for you two too knowing he is ok and enjoying his food even if it is a bit too much for him.

Evening All I have had the whole day without the lap top on !!!.I didn't want to be sidetracked when I knew I had things to be getting on with.
I was just about to go to bed at 10.30 last night and thought i would just have one more look outside and there he was sitting outside the back door.So in he came and spent the night on our bed again :-D.Woke me at 4.10 :-S.But he sleeps like a log and never moves so is no bother.Even though I know Chris would prefer him not to be on the bed.
Gill it is such a long tale about Fitz's Grandma's family. How much do you know? Was the letter the one where George told Edie she could not have any contact with her 'family' otherwise he would cut off any payments that he was paying them? Ann has done such an amazing job over the years in finding out all sorts of fascinating info from the poorest to one of the richest men in the country(he was Georges Brother in Law.) His name was Julius Wherner who was a Diamond Merchant. His weekend Country House was Luton Hoo!!..(Have a google for that :-D)That will give you an idea as to how rich they were. There are still unanswered questions though .Brick wall !!........Ann would be the best one to explain properly to you though Gill.I tend to waffle but Ann can just write things in a way that is easily understood and not like me going all around the houses LOL
James has popped in to Johnny's Mum after work.It would have been Johnny's 30th birthday yesterday. He wrote a little Childrens Story not long before he died.It has now been published and it is being launched on September the 20th.It's called Norman the Caterpillar and what is really good is that Stephen Fry has read it and had made a quote :-D :-D..How brilliant is that :-D
Must go and check food in the oven . BBS

Evening all,
What a difference in the weather ,yesterday rain ,today lovely sunshine :-D so we have your sun Mel and you have our rain !!
Yes good idea to get in touch with the tree owner Mel, if other people can see her tree and copy her tree and lots do with out checking ,then the trees will all be wrong ,my Nan's name was Edith too :-D
We say Sky Blue Pink with spots on :-D you'll look the bees knees with a ribbon in your hair Frank :-D Lovely photo of the cat ,she has made herself at home hasn't she :-D Oh dear what a mess the curry sauce must have made :-0 so that's hubby with his broken glass and Jane with her container of Cumin and you with the curry sauce so that's the third one ,every things goes in three's so everyone can relax now :-D
Ann, that's good that you found FIL happy and settled ,you must wonder what he will be like when you visit so it must be a great relief for you both and i had to smile at the not wanting to get a big tummy bit :-D
Well that's nice that Johnny's book has been published Jane and so sad he will never know ,and fancy Stephen Fry making a Quote about it ,lets hope it makes lots of money , will the proceeds go to Johnny's Happy place ?
Hubby was home at lunch time so we have been in the front garden having a tidy up, we have chopped down the big Forsythia bush at the side of the garden it had got so woody and it now looks so bare there so i need some thing big to put there now to replace it ,i don't really know what to put there it doesn't get that much sun at the front of the house ,i did wonder about a Buddleia ,but do they want lots of sun ?,it would be nice to see the Bees and Butter flies on it though .
Did you see on the news there's a big six foot Boa Constrictor on the loose in Essex !! :-0 :-0 :-0 i'am glad i don't live there !!

Yikes !!! a Boa Constrictor .I can just cope with a Sloeworm !
What is it this week wth us all smashing glass on our tiles floors !!!!!!..Just imagine if the orange juice ,curry sauce and Cumin were all mixed together :-S :-S Hopefully no more accidents. Yes all proceeds of Johnny's book will go into funding JHP.I don't know what age group the book is aimed at.If suitable I will buy a couple for William and Amelia. It must be heartbreaking for his Mum and Sister knowing Johnny will not see his book in print.
Ann I think it is great that FIL is really quite settled now. That must be a huge weight off your minds.it must be quite upsetting though for OH to see his Mum getting more muddled and weaker now.
I think the rain might just be arriving here.Just Spits and spots at the moment.I am keeping fingers crossed that Thomas will not be hanging around outside too long tonight.I don't fancy going out in the rain later to call him in.
Gill you can now relax a bit with the house finally off the market :-D No more viewings and people wasting your time :-D 3 sittings here for dinner tonight!..Chris had his ages ago,James has just had his and I will have mine in about 20 minutes.I gave Chris all the runner beans so none for me :-(

Yes, it is quite a tale Gill and I'm sure Jane will be able to tell you all that you want to know. I've still a few more things I've found out to get sorted and emailed so I'm glad you've reminded me!!!
So you got a good night's sleep last night Frank.......brilliant! I bet you felt all the better for it too. I loved the email about the rope bridge.............imagine being the first one to test the first bridge they did!! It gives me the heebie jeebies thinking about it. I had to turn round and go back on the rope bridge at the Lost Gardens of Heligan and that's only a few feet off the ground! :-S
I think Buddlieas do like a bit of sun Mandy, but it may be alright there? I know I planted one in a sunny spot when we first moved here. It was a lovely deep purple one and the butterflies loved it.
That is good getting the book published Jane. Such a pity he isn't here to know about it. It's great that Stephen Fry did a quote. Yes, what will happen with the proceeds?
Mel I see you are still in a cleaning mood and getting the china sorted now. I haven't done anything in the house today. I think I've cracked the bead pattern I wanted to do though, but needed a size bead I hadn't got so I've ordered some.
Off to bed to watch supervet we recorded. I like the vet as much as the animals!! lol. Night night.

I finished the divider and am pleased with myself for doing the lot. I had a chilli dinner in the freezer for oh, half of the one I made last week or so and I had two boiled eggs as I had a huge salad with salmon at lunchtime. Tinned salmon not fresh, I don't like that.
Its the plate rac k tomorrow the one that runs right round the dining area. 19 plates, one honey pot one bowl three jugs a small tespot and a dalton figure of a sailor feeding his parrot with a slice he has cut off an apple and one of Stephen's frogs.
Iv'e got the vet program on !! Its making me laugh.................... It's not now I have seen the poor staffy.
Saying night night now so see you all in the morning.

It is turning out to be quite an nice morning here.Fair bit of a breeze which is pleasant . I have done a load of cleaning this morning. No more :-D Mel I do remember that divider at your place and the plates and things around the top.
Our downstairs loo is leaking again :-S :-S.From the bottom this time where the pedestal joins the floor.Have got someone coming tomorrow morning. They could have come today but not until this evening and I didn't fancy that as we would no doubt be in the middle of dinner.
So Frank will be a smart chap once more with his new short back and sides :-D :-D

Afternoon Everyone, just got back from the hairdressers, after a dry cut, great to feel light and tidy again,
sunny today with a bit of a breeze, planning to do a bit of painting this afternoon, OH is putting down a bit of decking , it's in a great place to sit early in the morning when the sun is shining. and have a cuppa or breakfast, it's the only place in the garden where the sun hits before 9am . I will put the iron table and chairs there, and when the colder weather comes will be a good place to arrange planters on, Sofia says it will be like a stage , where She & Matteo can act and dance. Will take a few photo's when OH is finished,
Getting all my cake baking things ready, Sofia is having a 6th birthday party on the 6th Sept which is a sunday as her birthday is the 8 but she will be at school that day. She wants Top Hats this year , last year it was cupcakes, top hats are much more simple which is fine by me. And it will be a pamper party , Gran, Mamma & Aunty Katherine are to paint nails and do fancy hair styles and maybe make up (we are still thinking about that idea yet) No boys this year only girls to come to the party, :-D :-D

Afternoon All,
Slept till 4.00am till OH woke me and then never shut my eyes again! So I feel weary today and it seems quite muggy.
They said today that OH can visit MIL anytime now, so it sounds as if she hasn't got much longer, in which case I hope they don't move her to a nursing home at this late stage. The meeting about it is next week.
Fiona I bet Sofia is looking forward to her pamper party. Little girls are so grown up these days.......don't think I wore nail varnish till I was about 17!!
I nearly got cleared up by a big 4x4 cutting the corner turning into the close as I was driving to the end this morning. I had to brake and it had to swerve hard. It looked like a vehicle to do with the builders I saw here the other day.
You are doing well with your cleaning Mel, I'm doing more in the kitchen next after I've done the chicken salad for tea later.

Did'nt go to Holsworthy as you can see. Will have a look on the shop site and see what I am up against first I think.
Sounds good Fiona. Is this a project while oh is on holiday?? He always finds smething to keep him occupied but won't it be nice to sit out there in the morning with you tea or breakfast. We love our decking but it can get slippy in the winter so take care.

Afternoon all
I've been out all day with my mum, I'd only been up half an hour when the doorbell rang and it was mum wanting to take Sandra and I out. So I nipped to the bank and paid the £50 excess for the insurance claim for the drains and spent time with mum going shopping. I got two pairs of shoes and a lovely dress, that Sandra spotted in the shop, then I did a bit of food shopping and got home just before OH got in from work. Since then I've made a lovely beef casserole for Sandra and I, I think I've made to much so it will do us for tomorrow as well. OH doesn't like casserole so I'll make him something different later. I can smell the food from the kitchen and it smells lovely :-D :-D.
So you've had your hair cut now then Frank, what a pity, you could of joined the pamper party at Fiona's and had your hair done all pretty LOL. Maybe next time....I'll keep the ribbons handy for you.
Hope Sophia enjoys her birthday, it's such a lovely age, she's going to have so much fun <3 She'll be getting excited and counting the days down now ;-)
Sorry to hear about your MIL Ann, hope it's a peaceful ending for her. I am thinking of your all <3
So you've been cleaning like crazy Mel, you'll be like me soon and have nothing to do once it's all finished. It's a nice feeling knowing everywhere is clean and tidy though, so that's a positive. Yes backs do tend to ache pulling and pushing hoovers around, I bet you'll be glad when you get your new one. I guess it wasn't the socket that was the fault then? How is your OH getting on with the pond liner, has he finished it yet?
I just wondered Jane, what the story was for the adopted girl, why she was told to keep away from her family. I think I read that there was some sort of secret and wondered if you ever found out what the secret was? I feel proper nosey, but I'm not..... just curious ;-) ;-) Sorry to hear your downstairs toilet is leaking, hope it can be sorted tomorrow, I don't blame you for not wanting them to sort it out today, while you're trying to eat your dinner.
Can I just ask Fiona.....What are top hats, are they some sort of small cake, or are you actually making a top hat cake? I've never heard of top hats before. How's your OH getting on with the decking, it'll be so nice to sit out in the mornings in the sun with a nice cuppa and a slice of toast. Do be careful, it can get slippy in the winter months, as I noticed at my mum. It'll look nice with an arrangement of pot plants though. What type of plants were you thinking of putting there?
OH has booked some time off work next month so has decided to finish freshening up the paintwork here before the winter sets in. It'll keep him out of trouble for a while LOL.
Off to check the casserole now BBL

It's ONLY ME. No short back and sides Jane, just my usual trim !!!
One of the new tyres we had 18 months ago has started to crack on the wall. We took it back this morning, but got fob off as I expected. He said he could send the tyre back to the Manufactures for them to test, BUT we would be without the tyre for EIGHT WEEKS. As we only have "A GET YOU HOME SPARE" We would have to buy a new tyre. Defeating the object don't you think.
Ann I do feel for both you and Gordon., it's a very hard time to go through, but a blessing when it's all over. <3 <3 <3
Mel I will have to look at that Photo, I didn't know there was a globe in it !!
We bought some pipe covering today to box in the pipes in the Bathroom, another job for Mr HANDY MAN. I must be careful of the pipes. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Being the wonderful Husband that I am. I took Madam to lunch today. Very nice it was too, when we finally got it. They kept us waiting for ages before they took the drink order then another 20 minutes before the food order.
Oh Ann I hope my sleep less nights aren't being passed on to you. I slept until 9.15 this morning and only got out once in the night..
You were the lucky one this morning weather wise Jane, we had cloud all day over here. and it has been so "MUGGY" Looks like we could get rain this evening.
I am doing nothing this evening, so will more than likely be in the conservatory for TWO HOURS while the soaps are on. Then it's my T.V. time. !!!!

Mel do you mean you might order on line and get the shopping delivered ?.I know a few people who do that.Including Hannah and her housemates.
Ann,it does sound now that time is running out for MIL .Being able to go at any time to will make it easier for OH too . That sounded like a lucky escape with that 4x4 !!!!.Another black mark against the builder.
Where is Frank I wonder :-D..Maybe his strength has been sapped having all that hair cut off LOL.....Who did that happen to in the Bible? I can't think.
