Something has had one of my wood pigeons behind the caravan. It has left me the rib cage stripped of the two breast and layed out on its back with wings spread out as if its sun bathing. The feathers are a bit further away and I hav'nt found the head yet. Either the fox or a cat. I would have thought the fox would have taken it away though.
I was listening to one of my talking books whilst getting lunch and they were talking about make up and mentioned a Pan Stick. I used to use that sometimes and had forgotten all about it.
Still no Gill. did she say her oh had a couple of days off? and was painting the ceiling and walls in one room. He will have watche dthe grand prix yesterday.
Our oil is coming tomorrow 29. something a litre.........not bad that so I ordered 500 litres as thats all I can get in the tank with what I have already. Shame I did'nt have enough room for 1000. They were ordering it from the firm who has a very small tanker as the other big ones can't get through our arch. I was a day late but they put it on for me as I always have it from them for the small one.

Morning all. I slept better last night managed to get back off after the visit to the loo. Millie was quite good last night Did an extra shift yesterday in the shop. The two people who were usually on the till we're out. Ask me if I could cover then found myself there on my own for 4 hours. We have a buzzer if we need anyone from the back room. I was so tired yesterday morning I wasn't. Bothered having no one to talk too. It was pouring down as well so didn't have many customers apart from the ones taking shelter

My legs ache after standing most of that time. I have my shift to do on Wednesday afternoon then after we have eaten we are off to Clare's. We have a meeting with the electriican and plumber Thursday morning. So what us happening before then is anyone's quess. If we had known how this builder works he wouldn't have been our first choice. I am taking my books down there and some other things while the boot is empty. Ann how horrible waiting for what is happening with M in Law.

Thomas is very busy with his hunting then Jane. My cats were never that bad. But then your hunting ground must be good up there. That was the first time I had that chicken. It was tasty .the photos on my FB. Page are of my three children when small. Alan has transfered 212 of them from slides onto a card for them. He tried to put them on a disc 3 times but they kept stopping in different places each time. So he thinks there was something wrong with the discs. I have a pile of ironing to do from the other day and I still have washing trying from yesterday on the airer. Or clothes horse which we used to call it
You were all talking about things found in cereal packets the other day. I remember little red bandsman that I collected from cornflakes. I was so disappointed when I kept getting doubles. Alan is off to the doctors. And is hoping he can get 2 months supply of things to carry him though for when we move. He can pick mine up at the same time
When I got in from work my gas and electricity bill was waiting. I paid that off so will only have. About a months supply on the closing bill. Must get out of bed now lol. I did bring a cup of tea up

Morning All,
I remember them sending a big tanker to you before Mel so it's a good job some suppliers have smaller ones. I think I had some of that pan stick too and I know mum used it. It was in a tube like lipstick only much wider wasn't it? I remember it being quite thick so you had to blend it well with your fingers to avoid lines at the edges. The one I had seemed a bit orangey too!! lol.
Yes the waiting is horrid Pat and I think even the nurses are surprised she's keeping going.
It must be quite a concern all this delay with the builder. The electrician and plumber will have other work booked as well so I hope he doesn't cause them any delays. It's a good idea to keep filling your boot when you go to your daughter's. Will you have much left to move do you think? With what I sold beforehand and what me and OH moved in our cars beforehand, when I moved here I only needed 2 men with a medium van. Yes, I'd forgotten how disappointing it was when you got a toy you already had in a cereal packet! It was the same with the sets of cards you collected from tea packets.....so good if it was one you didn't have!
OH was gone by 7.00am after another COLD shower!!!! He said thank goodness we are having a new boiler. I've done what the boiler man did and switched things on and off a few times and it seems to be working again so hopefully my shower will be warm. I shan't have mine till after I've finished more of this bloomin' cleaning! I'm hoping to meet OH for lunch at the carvery that's down the road but on the way to where he is later. Then I need to clear shoes and stuff out of the way for the boiler man as our uti is small. I want to cover the worktop and drainer with old towels to protect them as I know they put their tools down any old where!! ;-) Just the lounge diner and study to dust then hoover everywhere now. BBL

Morning/Evening All
I am in the study as the men are here to clean and sevice chimney and wood burner. The got here half an hour early. So good job I wasn't still in the shower. The cat has scarpered LOL No doubt in a huff at being disturbed. He will probably now go of and look for a mouse or something :-S..Pat it is perfect hunting land here.Fotunatley for Thomas as he was surviving on what he caught when living rough. But unfortunately for us :-S So we just need to order a load of logs and we will be ready for winter :-D..So will you Mel with your Tank full of Oil...That is a good price.I wonder what Fitz pays for his at the moment? Could it have been a Hawk or something that got the Wood Pigeon? To be stripped like that.
Pat is your builder doing other jobs at the same time as yours? I know that happens but it is awful when it means your work gets held up.
It is a smashing morning here.I have all the towels in so hopefully can get them dry outside before rain later. Pat my Clothes Horse is full from yesterdays washing.I have always called it a Clothes Horse :-D I must make these men a drink as I can see it is a bit of a dusty job in there.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Absolutely tipping it down here just as the oil arrived. He has just gone and oh has gone in the shower as he had to put the pipe back on the gutter otherwise the oil man would have got soaked as its on the end of the flat roof on the lounge and we had taken the pipe off so the water could get away quicker. It comes off there like a waterfall right where the man has to stand and open the tank to get the pipe in.
I don't remember the bandsman in cereal packs at all.
Yes Ann the pan stick was a bit orange but made you look tanned. It came in a white container and was sort of rectangular with cut off corners if I member rightly. It may have had a bit of silver paint on it too but as you say you wound it up like a lipstick.
Pat I hope you can get this builder to do some work if we get a break in the weather from all this rain. It is a good idea to take some things down with you when you visit, make the move much lighter when the time comes.
I hope our Gill is ok. Sending love and wishes. <3
My nan on my mums side used to save the tea cards for me and put them in the books. We did'nt have that kind of tea but mum did change to it so on a Saturday visit to nans in South Woodford I would get more cards.

Just put a load of washing out too so fingers crossed it will dry. :-) Better get showered now as I still need to pop in the village before meeting OH. That is if I will be meeting him as he hasn't rung yet. :-S
Jane I thought the places Hannah will be staying were absolutely beautiful! I don't think they could have been better. She's leading quite a wonderful life now isn't she, far from the worries she had a few years ago. :-) If only she'd known then the sort of things she would be doing now!

Morning to you all, Evening Kim,
Well I am just out of bed. Last night I dished up dinner and sat down to eat it, when I had a terrible turn. My body went into convulsions and I couldn't keep any part of my body from shaking. I couldn't use my knife and folk, and felt the END was coming !!!
Ros wanted to get the ambulance but I wouldn't let her. I just left everything and went to bed. She was in and out like "A OLD MOTHER HEN" but I just laid nice and quiet and slept for a while. I finally slept on and off throughout the night. Ros bought me tea in about 9.00. and I have just laid and got myself together. I will get a shower and hope I will feel a lot better after.
I have an MOT booked for Thursday afternoon, so will tell the doctor all about this episode.
I had an email from my old school friend this morning who has the dreaded CASNCER. It now takes FIVE HOURS to take his medicine through his feeding tubes. and that is THREE times a day. So you can see he has no time for anything now. So it was great for him to contact me.
Ann, FIL seems quite happy with his surroundings, it is good to know he is being well cared for. That must take a lot of worry from Gordon, knowing he is alright . As for MIL as long as she is comfortable and being cared for, that's all you can ask for. My thoughts are with you both.
That oil doesn't sound dear Mel. 29 p plus for a litre How long will that 500 litres last you ??
Jane, poor old Thomas, not being able to get out for his hunting trips in all this rain. No wonder he isn't happy !!
You must have STRONGER words with this builder bloke :-| :-| :-|
I have sent Ros out with Carolyn for a couple of hours, she didn't want to go, in case I have another turn. But as I said I have the phone and neighbours if I need anything/one.
Off for a shower now, will pop back in after it to let you know all is well <3 <3 <3

Do take care Frank. I'm glad you're seeing your GP this week and I'm sure he'll be able to reassure you. Horrible weather day here, and we've lit the log burner!! Cas is sitting in front of it like Queen of the May!! O H is on his laptop. I'm researching my three times paternal G.Grandfather, one James Wainford. His eldest son was illegitimate, and took his mother's maiden name for his surname, which was my maiden name, as was common in those days. J.W, went on to marry someone else, so either there was a social reason that he didn't marry illigit's mother, or some other reason, I'm determined to find out!!

Keep at it Liz, that's half the fun of doing the tree and the surprises you get at the end !! I have had the heating on for an hour just to take the chill off. It's spit spotting of rain here again, and need the lights on.
Well got showered alright by myself :-( :-( It might have been nice to have had COMPANY ;-) ;-) ;-)
I had to go and pick more beans for dinner tonight. Just like me, I tripped over a potato bag and ended up banged up against the neighbours fence. Didn't break IT and no harm done to me, apart being shook up a bit.
Still got the shakes this afternoon, so will lay on sofa and watch T.V.
Flock of geese just gone over. Noise was a bit OTT. Little blighters. !!!!
Roast Chicken, Roast pots, Broad beans, Runner beans carrots and peas and cabbage. I think that will do us tonight. Madam has strawberry's in the fridge if she wants them.

What a scary thing to happen Frank. I bet you wondered what was going to happen next. It's good you are feeling better now but I'm glad you will be telling the doctor soon.
I bet Cas was well impressed the log burner was lit Liz, I can just picture her lying there. What an interesting twist to your FH. I hope you can get to the bottom of it and let us know. I thought I'd discovered something a bit dodgy in the family recently, but on checking it wasn't!! :-0 One of dad's brothers married a lady who already had several children and one of those children married the son of his sister so they were first cousins, but not blood related.
Why oh why don't the bin men put bins back where they fetch them from? Next door's recycling bin had been left outside our bungalow when I got back, so I pushed it over to their drive. They'd already put theirs away. I just saw the neighbour fetch it in and leave the one he'd taken in in error onto the front outside our bungalow. Then he realised it didn't have our number on it and wheeled it back again!! So he now has 2 and ours must have been taken in by another neighbour. It would help if people looked at the number of the bin they took in as well as they are all marked. :-S
Those mops weren't on offer at our A*da today, but I did get a bargain on the paint Gill told me about. I wasn't looking for it there but just came across it and It was reduced from £12 to £7 a tin so I was pleased with that. :-) :-)
Managed to have lunch with OH and he said they got him some toast this morning. Things are much the same with MIL today although the nurses think she is a bit weaker, but she still managed a few spoons of yoghurt, something she would have pulled a face of disgust at in her 'well' life!
Better get on it's raining outside now.

Liz you will get to the bottom of things eventually I'm sure :-D.It good sometimes to have a bit of a mystery to get your teeth into :-D
Frank have the shakes subsided now?.Strange how this happens every now and then :-S It must knock the stuffing out of you when this happens.
Ann shame you couldn't get that mop ,but sounds a good buy on the paint. Our bin men are very good at leaving the right bins at each house.I have only had to go to next door a couple of times to trundle a bin back. Our black bin is out for tomorrows collection.I did notice that ours was the first one out today :-D Chris was on the ball LOL.I think he wanted to get it out before dark and rain. It seems like MIL is just getting gradually weaker day by day now Ann. You are right about Hannah having the good life now .I do think the accomodation chosen is a bit more up market than normal ,but it is because of the wedding and the fact that Caroline (the Bride ) will be staying too...I have a feeling it was Hannah who found the place..But sharing the cost between 6 is probably a really good price to pay for that amazing house :-D
Liz I can't wait to get our wood burner going again ,just to see if Thomas lies down in front of it.But it is just not cold enough yet to light it.I would be stripping off if it was lit :-S :-S

I wouldn't have lit it Jane, but OH feels the cold ever since his brush with prostate cancer, goodness knows why, but he's often a chilly mortal these days. I think it's the wet too that makes him shivery! I've discovered that the mother, of illegitimate James,(named after his father presumably) married whoever, and had two more (legitimate!) children, and, aged 77(!) was committed to the workhouse, where she died aged 86!! Poor soul, you would think that perhaps one of her children could have helped her! but perhaps they weren't in a position to, or, perhaps she was a right old - Biddy!! Just off to walk Cas in the field, I think the suns trying to come out!!!!

Afternoon all
Just a quickie to let you know I'm still around LOL
I've manage to move my router into the living room today while OH is at work as it was in the bedroom where OH was painting. I've not been able to put it on for a few days, which is why I've not been on here. OH has still got the bedroom ceiling to finish, he's off work tomorrow so I'm hoping it will be finished then. He took the paper off the ceiling to find it had never been painted so it's taking quite a lot of coats of paint which is what's taking the time.
I've been busy all day today so have only just come online and haven't had a chance to read any of the posts yet.
Thanks for the email Jane, very interesting story, hope Fitz manages to find some photo's.
Going to sort out dinner now BBL

Evening all,
The day started off nice and bright but by lunch time it started to rain ,then stopped for a while but it's now coming down again ,we had really heavy rain last night ,the gutters had a job to cope with it .
I hope your feeling better now Frank, it must be pretty scary when you get the shakes like that ,it must worry Ros too ,it's good you have that appointment this week with the doc . We had geese go over the other morning quite early ,they woke me up they were so noisy !!
I see MIL is still hanging on Ann, it does sound as if she is getting weaker by the day . It was our bin day today the black recycling bin ,the bin men are quite good we usually get our bin put back in the place where we leave it .
Jane i'd like to see where Hannah is going stay please . You were saying you don't eat bread ,i find if i eat any of the White Breads i get terrible pains and indigestion ,but i can eat the better Seeded Breads ,they must add some thing to the white breads .

Evening all,
Rain, Rain and more Rain. Everywhere is soaked through. There seems to be a little brightness in the West, just as the sun is going down. So we might get a dry evening. They forecast similar weather for tomorrow, so no great improvement.
I like the nutty bread but Rosa doesn't like any brown bread, so I don't get to eat it that often. We both like the Farmhouse loaves so it's a bonus.
Nice to see you around Gill. Years ago I also papered the ceilings in the house. But once artex came along, had all the ceilings done. A lot easier to keep painted and no fear of the paper coming off in the corners.
Feeling a lot better this evening thanks everyone. I will try to explain things to the Doctor Thursday.
We have been invited to a friends for a meal Saturday evening, so that will make a nice break from the Bloo#y Television. She has a huge house with swimming pool and more rooms than you can throw a stick at !!!
Liz, So many of my relatives ended up in the workhouse, Mel found them for me a few years back on the voters roll. They were mainly my Grand Fathers family back in the 1800s. We are lucky, we don't have that worry as we get old. We hope we are catered for in old age by our children or the NHS. In most cases it's care homes from the sale of our homes, that we worked for all those years.
The sun is so bright in the sky now, I have had to draw the curtain so I can see to type. :-D :-D :-D
Off to play on my Kindle now while the soaps are on. :-( :-( :-(

I'd like to see where Hannah is staying too please Jane. I had to laugh when I read about Thomas sleeping while everyone else in the house was wide awake. LOL.
It does sound like MIL is nearing the end now Ann, hope it's peaceful for her. My thoughts are with you and Gordon <3 You did well finding the paint at such a good price. I didn't know As*a sold it, I think we got it from Hom*base. We need some more so I'll let OH know where you got it from.
It sounds like the builders have got other jobs on at the same time as yours Pat. They said it wouldn't be finished on time, have they said when it will be finished. Hope it's not to long after the date you needed. Will you stay at your daughters or will you have to rent somewhere until the build is finished?
Good Luck with your Family History Search Liz, hope you find all the answers you are looking for :-) It all sounds very interesting.
