Morning all
Lovely and sunny here so far today
Hope everything is going well with your new boiler being put in today Ann :-) Then you'll have hot showers everyday and your heating will work for the winter months.
How are you feeling today Frank, better I hope?
OH is hoping to finish all the painting in the bedroom today, then he can make a start on the dining room on Saturday when he has another day off work. There is wallpaper on that ceiling too, so another big job. I think he'll then leave the living room and Sandra's bedroom until after Michelle has been down. Michelle's visiting in 2 weeks and we think Sandra's bedroom ceiling might need plastering once the wallpaper has been taken off, so Sandra will be needing the spare room to sleep in, which she can't do if Michelle's in there.
Off to grab a cuppa now, then I'll try to find some programmes online, as they didn't record last night. BBL

Morning All,
We were up early today as the boiler man was coming at 8.00am. Luckily the shower was HOT this morning! OH went off to the hospital then and I moved my car off the front and up the road to make room for the big van. He can use the side gate and back door and doesn't need to tramp through everywhere which is good especially with more rain to come. It was drizzling earlier but has stopped now, but is very dull. The water's off and the old boiler is out now and it looks really mucky above and behind it. I think a lick of paint will be needed before long, but may have to wait till spring with what else we have coming up. I'm really achey this morning after all the housework I did yesterday so I'm in the study today, doing paperwork, phone calls and beading! The boiler man mentioned his wife makes jewellery, mostly beading, so I showed him the necklace I am making at the moment. He was so amazed by it, he took a photo of the bit I've done to show his wife. I'm hoping to meet OH at the garden centre near here for a jacket potato at lunch time.
Gill your hubby certainly gets cracking with the decorating when he starts and it is good to get things up to scratch with thinking of selling again soon. I bet you are all looking forward to seeing Michelle now, especially Sandra.
Did anyone watch the 12 year olds from benefit families last night? They were lovely children and I did feel sorry for them as they were trying to cope with grown up worries from their mothers as well as bullying at school for wearing cheaper clothes. One boy's mother had a new boyfriend and was heavily pregnant and had to go for checks as she felt things didn't seem right with the baby. He asked his grandmother what would happen if the baby came too early and she told him the baby could die or his mother could die!! Flippin heck, there was no need to be so blunt and worry the lad to death. I was very insecure as a child, but these too worry about the future and whether they'll be put in a home. Hard to make the best of education with so much going on in their little heads
I found our wheelie bin right up the close yesterday!
How are things going with the fish Mel? Is the pool ready for them yet? Even that must take a while to fill and I expect they may need some of their old water in it too so the change is less shock for them.
Time for a cuppa out of my flask now!! lol.

Morning all, Evening Kim,
What a dull old morning it is here. Very cloudy and likely to rain at any time.
Ros has changed the bed this morning, all washed and ready to go out. (She should be so lucky) I don't think.
I hope everyone slept better than me last night. Against my better judgement I had a CHEESE AND PICKLE sandwich before bed with a glass of red. Indigestion until 3.00 am and was awake again at 7.00. I didn't want to get up so laid till 9.00 am
How long will your boiler man be with you Ann, If it's just a straight boiler exchange I would think a days work. ???. Any more news on the In-Law front. ??
It was nice to hear from you last night Jane. I do like the name of Thomas "SHI# FACE" he will get a complex if he keeps calling him that :-D :-D :-D
We have had Martine and a friend call this morning. We were, and are still in our dressing gowns. What a time to call !!!!
Madam has just gone in the shower, and it will be my turn shortly.
Jan has skyped to say she will be coming to her daughter at WELDON (CORBY) to Baby sit for the weekend (what a long way to come from Torquay) She might call over Friday afternoon, if not, would like to meet at BECKWITH Saturday lunchtime. (Bang goes my football and beers) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
I hope you all have a good day, whatever you might be doing, and don't overdo things.

Weather still can't make up it's mind, so sheets etc are in the T/Dryer. She has a steam generator iron, so any creases should come out without too much trouble.#
Gill send some of your sunshine down here please.
Apart from pains in my right shoulder, I am not feeling too bad. Might be a bit of indigestion in my shoulder blade from last night. A good thumping on my back might dislodge it. NO I DON'T NEED ANY OF YOU TO OFFER :-D :-D :-D :-D I'll get Ros to give me a gentle pat on the back <3 <3 <3
She's off to the Garden Centre with Carolyn at 2.30. Why they need to go there I don't know. I bet there is "MORE EXPENSE" on the way ;-) ;-) ;-)
How are you getting on with the pond Mel ?? and is the boiler in yet Ann ??

Well, just as I was about to go and meet OH the postman called and gave me a long box. Oh dear I thought, I'm sure I haven't ordered anything!! Then I saw your lovely flowers and card 'from Frank and friends'. What a lovely thoughtful gesture, you are all so kind. <3 <3 <3 When I told OH he was so surprised and said to be sure I thanked you all on his behalf too!! <3 <3 <3 I must say they look fresh enough to have been picked today, lovely creamy roses just opening and purple freesias just breaking bud. Thank you so much and for all your support and bearing with me the past weeks while things have been so worrying. I will get back to being more chirpy eventually! :-)
On the MIL front, OH said they have cancelled the meeting this afternoon about moving her to a nursing home. She is staying put now which we are relieved about as it would seem a cruel thing to move her now. She's too weak to suck a straw today and has slept mostly, but still ate a bit of yoghurt again this morning. I forgot to say yesterday that she managed very weakly to ask OH if he'd been there all day. When he said he had mostly been there she asked him 'WHAT FOR'. I still wonder if she realises how ill she is.
Glad you are feeling more your old self again Frank. A spot of relaxing will do you good. I bet Ros will come back with some plants later! Still she does enjoy it and makes the garden look lovely. :-). The boiler man has done the soakaway and refitted the path slab so you can't even tell it's been up. He's done the bigger hole in the wall and I think will have the new boiler in position this afternoon. He said he'll be back tomorrow to do the pipework. No shower in the morning so we'll be using flannels and a kettle of hot water!! :-S lol.

Been busy with housework this morning and now I have the steak and onions and carrots on for a nice steak pie. Just got to makke a bit of pastry forthe top as I don't bother about pastry on the bottom.
Ann good the boiler in in postion and ready to be piped tomorrow. Glad you enjoyed your little surprise and good you were in when they arrived.
I sent William his present again this morning and asked about my postage and the man said I would have to take that up with the post office. Don't know if I will bother. It still cost me the same as last time even though I put it in one of those envelopes.
My keyboard needs another hoover out!!
I am pleased they are not going to move MIL now Ann as that upset would throw a spanner in the works as she has got used to being where she is. I hope she passes whilst asleep.

Oh has filled the pool to the height he wants it and it is filled from the well and their pond thats leaking. Today he has taken the filter of my pond and cleaned it all out which took all the morning and has fitted it to the pool. They have to have some kind of filtration as you ought to see the size of their droppings. They are as big as my marriage finger in width, well not all of them but there are at least another 4 that nearly as big as Big Bertha.
O O O it has just started to rain heavily and it was supposed to be a nice day today. I think oh had just gone out on the mower!!!!!!!!! :-0 :-0 :-0

So glad the flowers arrived Ann. I felt a little cheering up wouldn't go a miss. I mentioned it to Jane and Mel by email. I didn't want to put it on the thread, for the obvious reason.
Those Fish certainly sound large Mel, with POO that size, I would think their eyes water :-D :-D :-D Your OH is always busy doing one thing or the other. That mower gets a lot of use !!!
Ros came back with TWO clematis and packets of VEG seeds. They were all reduced !!!
The weather doesn't know what to do. It's turned very cloudy again now and the breeze is picking up.
Have you still got the sunshine Gill ??
I see IRIS hasn't been back on, I hope she comes back with more memories that might jog our brains to think of something new.
That steak pie sounds a treat Mel, I could get my "LAUGHING GEAR" round that, with Mash and Veg with a nice thick gravy. I will have to be content with one of Ros's Chicken Curry's. Which I must say are very tasty.
Not sure if I will go to the pub tonight, there is a match on. I will see how I feel later.

Well Frank what can i say.....Cheese and Pickle and Red Wine just before bed and then you are awake with indigestion !!!!!...What a Silly Billy :-D :-D
That was a really lovely thing to do for Ann and G <3....Ann the flowers sound so pretty and I bet the Freesias will be smelling wonderful.
Your Boiler man seems to have done a good job today. So just the pipework now.You will have gallons of piping hot water in no time now :-D
We have just a real sharp shower and now the sun is out again.Poor Thomas doesn't seem to quite himself today. He hasn't eaten anything, nor been off anywhere. He has just been moving around to sleep in different places.and is looking a bit sorry for himself.I wonder if he might have eaten a bad mouse or something in the early hours after he went out.
I bought a few things at TK M** this morning. One top for me and 2 dresses and a sleeveless kind of knitted top with a lovely ethnic pattern for Jess 's Birthday.I will have to get James to have a look and see what he reckons.I have a feeling one of the dresses won't do.They were actually in the sale as her main present will be money towards their few days in Germany .That is James's present to her.
If you want to see something funny.Look on Youtube for 'Jack after wisdom teeth removal.' It is the effect of the anaesthetic as he is driven home by parents. It is HILARIOUS :-D :-D.I have watched it 3 times already and each time have tears of laughter rolling down my face.
Ann I reckon it is probably days now for MIL.The fact that the hospital have decided not to move her is I think a sign.
I must have missed Mels post about the big fish and big poo !!!!!.I will have to scroll back.I get so cross when I miss something .But it is so easily done.

Evening all
Mum called round this morning and took Sandra and I out. You mentioned you got the paint for £7 the other day Ann, I found a 2.5L tin for £10 in Rightway, that's the cheapest I've found it, but the tin has changed since the last time we bought it. It now says touch dry in 1 hour instead of 30 minutes and the green bit on the front saying Quick Dry is smaller too. I'm just hoping it's the same one we have bought in the past, it looks like it so I'm going to get another tin of it at the weekend. I saw the tin you got for £7 in Asda this morning but we need a bigger tin as we have another 5 rooms to decorate after the bedroom is finished. Wasn't that nice of Frank to send you the flowers, they sound so nice. Glad it has cheered you both up <3 <3
So you got the sun I've had all day then Frank, glad I could be of some help LOL. :-D More plants for the garden too, I'm surprised you have any room left. Your place must look like a garden centre now ;-) All pretty and colourful.
OH has been busy painting the bedroom all day and it still needs more coats of paint on the ceiling. It'll have to wait until Saturday now as he's back in work until then.
Getting back to corrie now, or I'll miss the end

Oh was on the mower up the top field when the rain fell out the sky. It did'nt last long though but he still came in soaked to the skin.
Had dinner and I did'nt make the pie in the end as I cleaned ll the bathroom shower. It needed a good seeing to so it got it and we had dough boys instead of pastry with our runner beans and boiled pots. Nice thick gravy and it went down a treat.

Morning all
Another sunny day here today
Nothing much planned for today, just a few loads of washing and changing the bedding. The place is still a bit upside down with the bedroom being decorated so there's not much I can do until it's finished, then I can put all the furniture back in there.
Might catch up on some programmes I've recorded with Sandra a bit later on.
I was suppose to be chatting with Michelle online today, but she's had to go into work to interview 5 people, so she didn't get her day off. They're short staffed after a few people have left, so the interviews couldn't wait until she was back in work again. I suppose that's what happens when you're the manager.
What is everyone else up to today?

Morning Gill and All
I am still sitting in bed having my second cuppa.I can see the horses in the field opposite munching away on the grass. The sun was sing just now but now it is cloudy.I think it might actually be quite a decent day though. Not much planned here either Gill. But I will be going to get Thomas a new toy.it is the one that is like a fishing rod with feathers attached. We broke the one he had and it is really good to to get him moving LOL I often use it when I think he needs tiring out. Then I will be taking 2 of the 3 things back to TK M** that I bought for Jess.James reckoned that they weren't her kind of thing. But the little dress is fine :-D
I have so many Runner abd Green beans in the fridge I think I will make up a big pan of my favourite thing with Garlic and Chopped Tomatoes.I love them cold :-D
Right I will finish my tea now

Morning Jane
I remember having those kind of toys for our cats, they go bonkers for them don't they? It really tires them out and you too LOL.
Shame you have to take a few things back to the shop, but good that James could let you know they weren't her kind of thing. Will you be getting her anything else to replace them?
I've just taken a look at the bedroom ceiling and can see why OH keeps adding extra coats of paint and why it was wall papered in the first place. It looks like the roof might of leaked at some point in the past and there are a few water marks. We've got a sealant paint so I'm going to paint over the marks, then hopefully it won't need anymore coats of paint. The only problem is the odour is very strong and I'm not very good with strong paint odours, they make be feel dizzy, so I'll have to be quick so I can get out of the room, I just hope I can reach as the ceiling is very high. There's not much to do, then hopefully the room will be finished and I can put the furniture back in there and then start emptying the dining room ready for the wall paper to be taken off that ceiling.
I'll be glad when all the wall paper is off all the ceilings and it's just nice and smooth. ;-) At least I've found something to do for today. I can't carry on with my dress alterations as they are all in the wardrobe which is covered with dust sheets and I know if I take them down I wouldn't be able to put them back up on my own, so it's better if I finish off the painting for OH for now, then I can get straight again in our bedroom. :-)
Rosie's just been for her breakfast, she's got in the routine of jumping on the window sil to get my attention.....bless her <3
Going to grab a cuppa, then make a start on the painting. It sounds like you're going to be busy with your runners today Jane ;-)

Morning all and evening Kim,
Well it was sunny when oh woke me up as he was getting the fish out of the pond nd into the pool. Took my tea out there and saw one of the yellow ones come out in the net and he does it so carfully bless him. Then the rain came and stopped play. It came down in stair rods but the sun was still shining to the south. Now its stopped and the sun is full out again. So you know what we will be doing for the rest of the morning.
I have washing waiting to go out and more to put in and finish off cleaning the bathroom. I had a good go in the bedroom yesterday too and today I may try the hoover again as I have loads of those little leggy spiders and their webs to suck up.
I also need to go to Holsworthy for some bits and pieces but don't know if I will get there yet I shall just have to see how the day goes.............. ;-)
Now whats our Frank up to today I wonder?
Hope Ann's MIL had a good night and hope the boiler is done today for her and Gorden.
Off now to help with the fish.. SYL.

Morning you Early Birds, Morning to the rest of you, Evening Kim,
I had one of my night's last night. Was in bed by 11.00 with the radio for half hour. Settled down but couldn't get off. Was still wide awake when madam came in at 1.15 am She said she hadn't gone to sleep on the sofa. !!!
Half an hour later there started a BLEEB BLEEPING sound. I turned on the light, which woke Ros up. and went in search of the noise. For some unknown reason it was the Phone in the bedroom. With that I gave up and came into the lounge, I put the Tele on catch up and sat watching that till 5.00 am Ros came out twice to tell me to come to bed. I finally went in, and slept till 9.00 am.
I have had two cups of tea and my tablets, so must have something to eat now.
If it stays dry this morning Mel, I might do the front lawn as that's looking tatty. !!
Yesterday afternoon I watered the greenhouse and picked loads of tomato's. That was wrong as a lot of them were still green. (I am coloured blind) and thought they were ripe. I must remember to leave them alone <3 <3 <3 <3 Or I will be in TROUBLE. :-D :-D :-D SEE IF I CARE !!!
That has to be one of the worst jobs when decorating, having to strip the ceilings. It's a real back breaking job. When will it all be done Gill ???
I'm off for a Bacon Sarnie, so will see you later.
