Good morning LAZY BONES, Evening Kim,
What a great nights sleep I had last night. Just after midnight until 8.30. I got up for the toilet and Ros wanted me to go back to bed, she had been up since 7.00 and would bring my tea in. But I stayed up
Beautiful sunshine everywhere this morning. The silly cat is chasing the shadows of the crystals across the carpet. They are dancing everywhere.
Ros is at the hairdressers at 12.20 Will be home about 4.00 She's having her highlights done as well. ANOTHER £80.00.down the sink lol
I have no plans for today, other than sort out dinner for tonight, and a nice relaxing day with "ROOTS"

Morning all,
Lovely and sunny here ,just got the first lot of washing out and the next lot is nearly done it's all the bedding and as there is a nice blow out it shouldn't take long to get dry.
Yes that's it Frank Chicken George was in Roots !! Didn't they jump have to jump the broomsticks when they got married? I enjoyed that when it was on the tele ,and that was a while ago now.
Your OH half is going to be kept busy while on holiday then Gill with all these ceilings to be done, will you have time to have a couple of days out and about? Have a little time to relax .
Hope the boiler is all finished today Ann, no more worries of cold showers and hopefully no worries with the boiler over the winter . Hope MIL is still comfortable. <3
Right coffee time then the next lot of washing will be ready to hang out.

orning all and evening Kim,
Lovely sunshine here too. Nothing particular planned for today so will just go along with oh who is taking the boards off around the pond. I want to get 6 diathus in the border. I bought them the other day (Tues) and hav'nt had a chance to plants them yet.
Mandy I did just that with my big toe when I was young down the caravan with no shoes on on the sandy rocky road we had on the beach at St Osyth. Knocked the top right off my big toe on my right foot and had a huge flap of skin at the top. My dad made me put it under the water tap to wsh the sand out. Cor it did'nt half hurt. The flap came right off in the end. My toe has been a bit numb on the end ever since.
Last night I went outside for a ciggy and the pump in the pool was'nt working. It was turning the water around in the pond like a whirlpool. I had to go and wake oh up and tell him and we went out and looked and he said the pipe had come off something. I had to turn the pump off and we left it till this morning when oh fixed it all back up again. He said if they had had to swim against the whirlpool al night they would have been exhausted by the morning.

Oh, some of you are up now THEN :-D :-D :-D
Jane is that the P.O in Polewell lane by the Church. It was a lovely little place and I understand the Son or Daughter have taken over from one of the parents. Might have been before your time !!!
The little corner shop use to sell Ice topped buns, I often bought those when I took the children to play group by the church, and went home and had one with a coffee before going to work. That was in the SIXTIES.
Ros has just gone off, she will pop into Tesc# on her way to the hairdressers, So HOME ALONE Again !!!
Hope little Chelsea isn't to uncomfortable with her toe this morning. It often hurts more the next day, when you do things like that.
I had a call from my old mate from Kettering this morning, enquiring how I got on at the Doctors. He said she sounds a really nice caring person, who has time for her patients, I could only agree with him ;-) ;-) ;-) Roll on next Thursday.
It looks like I might get away with going to meet Jan and the baby at Beckwith tomorrow. Ros has said she might go straight there from shopping with Martine. So I can still see my match and have a couple of beers with the lads (old men) lol

Morning All,
Cheeky Frank.........I was at the bank at 9.00am!! lol ;-) OH put the washing out, we went to the bank, had a bacon buttie and now he's gone to the hospital later than usual. We both slept like logs last night and it did us good to lay in a bit later. There is a telly in MIL's room, but it has no sound and OH said she slept most of the time he was there yesterday.
I'm glad we know what William's gift was now and that it arrived safely this time!! I bet he loves it Mel. So are all the fish in the pool now? It must be quite a task as he will presumably be building the sides of the pond up next with brickwork? Yes, we have found lots of papers, even his grandad's apprenticeship indentures but not the elusive certs we need!! That is quite an expensive washing machine as you say, but I agree why not! Ours makes an awful clatter so I shall want something quieter next time. I like the sound of those that steam clean but I bet those are an insane amount of money. :-S
Frank young Lewis is a lucky boy to be getting a car from you for his 17th. I can't believe he will be 17!!! :-0 :-0 I didn't have a car that was just mine until I was in my late 30s. I used to love the 'Roots' telly programme.
Gill that's quite a timetable of decorating you will be doing and will keep you busy. I think your OH is right about the stain stop paint drying shiny. We had to do a patch on our lounge ceiling when there was a leak around a chimney and I had to put emulsion on top of it when it was dry.
Oh poor Chelsea, nothing worse than catching your toe. I bet she has her shoes on today.

Oh Mel, What can you do.?? Have you any other big containers that they can go for a while. Is it the new pool?? How on earth did that get damaged. !!
Talking of toes. My ex when just my girlfriend banged her big toe and tore the toenail back of it's bed. She had to go to hospital and have the nail removed. My bum was twitching like mad :-D :-D :-D :-D watching that.
As the sun went round from the front of the bungalow, I thought I will clean the windows. Out came the STEPS, Karcher and window polish stuff that comes with the Karcher in little pip type things. I did the front lounge window, porch window and from door. I then did the two kitchen windows and the bathroom one. All the stuff is round the back now. So just our Bedroom window and the conservatory to do. But I don't think today. My legs have the shakes and my arms don't feel that good. There is always tomorrow. !!!
The car that Lewis will get will be a few hundred pounds not a few thousand. It will give him a start, His Mum or Dad will be able to sit with him to give him a bit of experience, then hopefully he will have driving lessons, but they are so expensive, I suppose we will help towards those as well. I know you think I am spoiling him, but I wouldn't do that. He is my only one I see, so why not. !!!
When Ros spoke to Julia and Harvey yesterday. Julia said Lewis was in the shower, and took the laptop to the shower so his nan could speak to him, he wasn't that pleased to be interrupted while in the shower, but managed to keep well cover up :-D :-D :-D
Our friend John and Carolyn came round this morning in his new toy. A BMW Z4 convertible. All singing and dancing. Carolyn walk home, while John took me out. When I got out after a spin round for about 6 miles. (NOT DRIVING) LOL He pressed the key and the boot slid open (I think) and out came the hard top. it slid up and over to the screen and another part fitted in behind it (ALL ELECTRIC) It does 0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds and has a limiter fitted so it can't go any faster than 155 miles per hour. What a fabulous bit of engineering. He said it has a twin turbo charger and a 3 litre engine. Petrol consumption is around 28 m p g. So not that bad :-D :-D :-D
Coffee and sandwich now, then back to "ROOTS" and perhaps 40 winks.

Afternoon Everyone from a very wet Scotland.
I think Autumn is heading our way already.when the sun comes out in between the rain and wind it's quite warm, but we are getting some heavy down pours,
I say YES Frank to spoiling the grandchildren, time will come when they want to go their own way and won't want to come to visit , being with friends is more fun than being with the old folks.

Just lost a post so here goes again........ :-S
You've done well today Frank, better than me as all I've done is make phone calls and nip in the village for a few bits and bobs. Lewis doesn't act spoiled which is the important thing. He seems to appreciate you both and what you do for him. I bet he can't wait to be driving.......I know I couldn't even though I had to wait 3 months for my lessons as the instructor was booked up till then.
It's lovely sunshine here again so the washing will be dry. Just 1 more load of bedding to do.
Oh Mel, is it a bad leak? It's not as if your bath is big enough for those whoppers is it! Will you have to go and buy another pool as I imagine it would be hard to find and repair the leak and would probably have to empty the pool.

Yes Fiona, I can see that happening in the future. He has said he will come up when we are old and do our shopping each weekend. Great gesture, but I won't hold my breath. LOL But it was nice of him to think and say it.
Dark clouds coming over now, so I expect we will get rain ALL OVER MY CLEAN WINDOWS ;-) ;-) ;-)
Our little visitor had a real good play and run around this morning. I have just looked under the table and she is fast asleep on the dining room chair.
Ros was hovering this morning and said her fur is just like COBWEBS all over the carpets. She (the cat) didn't take a blind bit of notice of the hoover, and just carried on in her own sweet way <3 <3 <3
I've been a good boy and not slept this afternoon. Who knows, I might have a good night again tonight.
What do I do for dinner. I have a whole Chinese spiced rib thawed out and ready for the oven. BUT I have done Broad Beans, Runners, Pea and carrots and sprouter's with Pots either mashed or roasted. OR I could do Steak puddings in a thick gravy. I think the puddings will go better with the Veg. Who agrees ???
No sign of madam yet. I must remember to comment on her hair do. Also Jan said she might pop in on her way from Torquay to Weldon. No sign of her also.
I didn't do anymore windows this afternoon, I have just sat and done nothing. Oh I did fill out the voters form that came this morning. That's ready for the post tomorrow.
What have you all been up to today ?? I hope Mel and OH got the pool fixed.

Panic over and no we hav'nt anywhere else we could put them. They are too big for the bath and between them they would cover the bottom of it. I think there are 18 or 19 of them. They don't look like they have much room in this pool he bought nd I think it is 2 m x 6m and a meter deep.
Have you been out and about Fiona? Did'nt you say Frank was on holiday for two weeks and how's the decking coming along? How is your hand now too?
I don't think Lewis sounds as though he is spoilt. He sounds a lovely lad to me. I have spoken to him on the phone when I was trying to get Frank to copy and paste.

I wonder where the Certs are that you need Ann??.They must be somewhere in the house. OH NO MEL!!!!...Will OH be able to fix the leak? After all the hard work for this to happen now :-(
Frank Lewis will be so surprised with his Birthday Present. It must be handy having friends still in the car trade who will keep an eye open for something you can buy.I think it is a good idea to just start off with an inexpensive car as it is often the case that new teenage drivers have a bit of a prang. Not that I'm saying Lewis will of course :-D
Fiona we are waiting for a bit of rain here.I think it might be on the way .It has been a lovely day here so far.But I can feel a bit of a nip in the air. I never had Grandparents to visit when I was little. My Granny Richardson lived in Scotland and she was pretty scary. So it was probably once every few years that I actually so anything of her.Her OH died when she was pregnant with her last child so I never met him. Then Mums Mum died when Mum was 3 and her Father bug***** off. It was just my Nanna I knew well. She was Mum's Aunt who brought her up. I do think children love having Grandparents and being a little bit spoiled :-D
That cat has just eaten a bird in the utility :-S :-S.He came in miaowing at me and when i looked he had a feather stuck on his face ,so i knew there was something somewhere :-S :-S..The thing is he had not long eaten a whole pouch of cat food !!!
Frank I bet you are feeling relieved you will get away with going to Beckworth tomorrow LOL I keep forgetting it is Bank Hol Weekend.James is driving down to Jess tonight so I hope the roads won't be too bad.
Yes the Post Office is the one on Polwell Lane.I think it was the son who took over from his parents. They have both passed away now and Toby and his wife Jo run it.His parents lived in the cottage next door to the P O,but now it is being renovated for Toby's daughter and her new hubby. The post office was extended some years ago . I think the shop on the corner must have gone long before we moved here as I don't remember one there. We moved to Kettering in 1985..I can't believe that was 30 years ago......I still don't call it home .Plymouth is the place I call home.
Mandy I don't have any pics yet of my Nieces new pup Bentley. But when I do i will send it on.He is apparently as good as gold and has had no 'accidents' :-D
I thoroughly enjoyed WDYTYA with Derek Jacobi.Who else watched it? XF starts tomorrow :-D :-D...I haven't told Chris yet. When I do there wll be a big groan and no doubt a couple of swear words LOL
What has happened to Iris?? I hope she comes back with more interesting memories.

Mel I'm glad panic is over now :-D.I would have been so worried about what to do with the fish. The rain hasn't arrived. The sun is shining again but it does seem to be getting pretty breezy. Yes Frank don't forget to say how nice Ros's hair looks. :-D :-D.I get quite miffed if after having my colour done Chris doesn't notice. He actually said this morning how nice my hair was !!!!!! Shock !!!!.I asked him what he was after as he never says that..I had only washed and dried it lol.
James has a Pizza tonight before he goes.I think we are having Frozen Basa (bit like cod) BEANS and more BEANS,and Oven Chips.I can't be bothered to do anything else .I will do something new tomorrow :-D I went to Waitr*** to get this fresh Oregano and ended up spending £80 :-S :-S.I did get some nice meat and a couple of meals to put in the freezer for James when we are away. Liz I forgot to look for their Meatballs :-S

Hi all
I've been watching all my programmes with Sandra today and also had a quick look on Ancestry. I'm not feeling very well today, banging headache and a bit of a cold coming on, so I haven't done anything in the dining room yet. Hopefully I'll feel a bit better tomorrow so I can help OH take the wall paper off the ceiling.
We've had sun all day again today, although it was a bit cloudy earlier on.
Glad to hear the pool doesn't have a leak Mel, what would you have done with the fish???? you were so lucky, or should I say the fish were lucky LOL
So Thomas is up to his old tricks again bringing a bird into the unti Jane? I don't think he'll ever change will he?
Looks like you fell for the little cat you have staying with you Frank. Maybe you should think of getting one of your own <3 Glad to hear you had a better nights sleep last night.
Going to get a painkiller now, see if that helps my headache :-S

Gill ,I bet it is the fumes from the paint making you feel ill.Even the stripping off of the wallpaper must lots of old spores in. Yes I agree I think Thomas will always be after something. As long as he isn't like Fitz's cat !!!!!.He is the biggest hunter cat I have ever known. How he manages to drag things like Pheasants,Squirrels,Rabbits and Moorhen through the cat flp I will never know :-S :-S.Thomas had gone off with that look in his eye.But he can't be hungry. Just wait till he finds himself in the Cattery in a couple of weeks !!!.He will be in for a shock :-(...I will hate taking him there ,but once I drop him off I will just have to put it out of my mind. I need to do his Flea treatment again either tonight or tomorrow. He won't be impressed with that either !..Touch wood though he seems as clean as a whistle in that department :-D

Thank goodness you were able to fix it Mel, it must have been panic stations when you noticed the leak, you'll have to keep a check on the connection in case it gets loose again ,you don't want to loose the fish ,do you have some sort of cover over the pool ? i hope there's no Herons about to help themselves to the fish !!
Gill is it the paint fumes that have given you a bad head ? those fumes from the paint can be quite strong ,hope it soon goes and you feel better . Oh i see Jane has wondered the same thing about the paint !!
Oh little Bentley is so cute :-D
Lovely sunny evening here ,we have started to pump the pool out ,don't think the children or us will be going in any more now ,so as it's a long weekend we thought we'd get it all pumped out ,dried and put away .

Hi folks, I spent ages this afternoon trying to email out some photos but my email service was so erratic it kept shutting me out or was too slow. It's OK now and I've just sent an email out to you all which includes a photo (not the actual one, I've to photograph it) of a bus like the one Mel sent me. They did different side ads in this series, two were for London - and I'm pleased to say I haven't got this one, most of my small ones are Matchbox models, mostly donated. The ironic thing is that when this one came,as I've said, he pushed it through the letterbox. We had to go out today before the post arrived and I left the porch window open. Luckily I did, we had a postman who used his initiative this time and he popped two small packages through the window. Safe and sound and out of sight of passers by for our return. PS:- Mel said that when she lived in Redbridge, she would catch the No 47 bus, so I'm going to make a No 47 sticker for the bus she sent me. I went for the Xray on my knee today and luckily we were in and out in under an hour, should know the results in 7 - 10 days, thanks to all this digital technology. This was the George Eliot hospital just outside Nuneaton (Ann might know it) and we were going to go into Nuneaton afterwards. However, it kept showering and by that time we were ready for some lunch. So home via the fish and chip shop for a fresh cooked haddock and some nice chips. Lovely grub. Carmel is the Catholic one so she likes her fish on a Friday. That's what I tell her about her bad knees now - "You're paying for praying" :-D My other package today was the card model kits to make the Odeon Chadwell Heath cinema and Seven Kings bus garage. I'm actually looking forward to winter now so I can built them (photos WILL be sent out of course) and they will be ideal to display my 'local' buses against. I've always liked working with cardboard and I used to make all sorts. When I was President of the local Art Society, I made a little church tower one year as a prize for our 'best artist'. When you opened the church door, inside was a little miniature bottle of whisky. The recipient was well pleased. I've got a photo of that somewhere too. (maybe disappointed that it was a regular sized bottle of scotch!!). I was thinking this morning of some of the things my dear old Dad used to say, when they weren't things he'd brought back from his time in India. If he was talking about some posh man he'd call him 'Lord Dunabunk', or a posh lady would be 'Fanny Fanakapan' - and if he couldn't think of someone's name, he'd call them 'Lobby Ludd', but I think he'd got that from some newspaper competition. No doubt, you all picked up that I called Derek Jacobi, David! Well, we settled down to watch it last night and it got to the bit where he was in Paris and then, guess what? I slept through the rest of it!! Afterwards Carmel kept telling me it was 'remarkable', so when the repeat comes on next week, I'll record it and watch again - awake this time... It should hold my interest as my Mum was born in Bethnal Green. Remarkable!!
That's it for now, things to do. If I know BakerGills email address, I'll add it to my mailing list so she can enjoy (or not enjoy, as the case may be) anything I send out in the future.
