Crickey Jane Fitz's cat sounds like a really hunter, I makes Thomas look like a right pussy cat, pardon the pun LOL I love the photo of Bentley, isn't he cute?

I think you and Mandy might be right, it's probably the paint fumes and dust that's making me feel a little under the weather. I felt guilty not emptying the room with me saying to OH I would, so I've emptied it all for him now ready for tomorrow. There's a bit of paper loose on the wall which I need to stick down and put the dust sheets down which I'll do later, then it's all done for him.

You look so funny William in the pink hat, I bet you had a great time playing cowboys :-D :-D. I like the photo's of the buses. They look good against the backdrops you have. Nice to see you finally got the one off Mel :-)

Going to carry on watching my soaps now

Phew what a relief Mel! I was imagining a 'Dad's Army' moment at your place with yells of 'permission to panic' and running in all directions!! I bet your OH won't rest now till they are all safely back in the pond.

Frank my car roof works exactly the same as your friend's. The metal roof folds up and slides into the boot at the touch of a switch. That is some acceleration though.......you'd have to hang onto your hat if the roof was down and he put his foot down!!! lol.

Bentley suits the puppy well Jane. He's very cute boy! :-) It's good the fleas on Thomas's catches aren't finding him an attractive host with all his flea treatments now.

Gill, I bet it is some of the paint that's affecting you as I often get a headache after painting unless I open the windows and doors to the outside. I hope the tablets clear it. I haven't got things all put back in the uti yet, couldn't face it today.

We were going to settle down and watch The Ripper we recorded but OH got a call from the hospital to say MIL has deteriorated since he left earlier so he's gone back there.

Did you all get William's picks of his buses and little Grace?

She is so like her mum and has'nt she grown.

Poor Gordon having to go back to the hospital. It does sound as though she is slipping away now. He is a brick going at the drop of a hat. I hope he dos'nt have to stay there long.

I recon Thomas thinks he is shopping whilst out hunting and that Jane cooks it and makes it taste nice!!! ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) He is a little devil though and old habits die hard if he was living rough for a while.

William my mum and nan used to call me Fanny Fanakerpan sometimes. In fact I call one of my chickens that sometimes when she gets out.

Dad called me Mr. Bonjameany.

Morning all and evening Kim,

Grey sky here this morning but it is dry at the moment.

What a todo we had last night. :-( Went out for a cig at 10 to 11pm and thought I'll have a look at the fish. Well when I got to the pool one was lying on its side on the top and my goldfish that has always been in with them was upside down on the bottom and all the others were looking strange and some were blowing bubbles on the top. He had moved the flow of water that comes out of the pump to into the water and hardly any bubbles were coming out. I asked him if that was ok when he did it and his reply was "They'll be alright" well they obviously were'nt because I went out next at just after 12am to have another look at them. I had to go and wake him up again as the yellow one thats a bit funny anywazy tht was floating on its side earlier was now down the bottom on its side right next to my poor old goldfish that has dropsy who was upside down lying next to it. I had to wake oh and get him to come and have a look. Big blue was blowing bubbles at the top of the water and so were a couple of the others. Oh asked me for a cane and he raised the waterflow so it is about 10" to 1' above the water so it was gushing into the pool. They all went towards the flow immediately except the yellow one and wonky goldfish. Oh said give them half an hour and he went off in his study and I watched the end of Ripper Street. By this time it was about 1.30am and the fish looked a lot better but still not right. Oh went off to bed so I thought but he was still in the study. He did go later though and I eventually went about 2.30 to 2.45am. I was happy that they looked normal again and even the my goldfish was back up the right way as was the smaller yellow one.

What we do for the creatures we look after!!!!!!

Morning Mel ,Morning all,

What good thing you went and had look at the fish Mel if they had been left until this morning it might have been to late for them.
I suppose those big fish need plenty of bubbles in the water ,hope they all recover .

Nice and sunny here ,we have been to the tip twice with two big bags of moss from a roof hubby has been cleaning off.
Then its back to cleaning the pool and packing it away.

I wonder how things are with MIL ,it does sound as if the end is near now, i hope she passes peacefully <3

Morning from the "HOME ALONE BOY" Evening Kim,

Slept quite well last night, I noticed this morning that I had been dribbling on the pillow case. Madam had only changed it Thursday, so had to put another one on this morning.

Oh Mel, what a good job you went for a late ciggy and looked at the fish. A few house like that and I think they would have been gonsky. What an "EXPENCE" to replace that lot. !!!

Yes Mandy we have a lovely sunny morning also, but there is a chill in the air now in the mornings. Autumn is on it's way.

I've got out of going to meet Jan at lunchtime. SHE'S COMING HERE with the baby, as she wants me to see him. He is three months old and has ONE YEAR OLDS CLOTHS., So he must take after his Dad !!! who is a big chap ;-) ;-)

I was lying in bed this morning with a cup of tea, when I felt something round my feet. The cat had crept into the bedroom and got under the sheet. When I lifted the bedclothes her face was a picture, total surprise. Enough to say "why are you disturbing me" She then shot off into the lounge. She is now asleep on the chair in the conservatory. WHAT A LIFE !!!

Any news on the MIL front Ann. I think when this is all over. A HOLIDAY or a few days away is the order of the day.

That new puppy is very cute, and I am sure will grow to be a loving member of the family. JUST LIKE THOMAS :-D :-D :-D :-D Sorry Jane. Any more presents from him today. ???

Shower will be late today, as I will do it this afternoon before going out to dinner tonight. Ros has bought flowers and Jean's favourite wine. John and I will take RED.

Suns in and out here but it is a nice fresh morning. Oh has taken some of the deckng off around the pond and is now mowing again as tomorrow is the dog show on our top field.

I must go up the shop for my paper so I can see what rubbish we have on the telly this week.

Gillx Report 29 Aug 2015 12:06

Hi all

Lovely and sunny again here today, I've just put the washing machine on, yet again ;-) So I'll be pegging that out shortly.

Sorry to hear about your MIL Ann. Sandra and I are thinking of your both <3

That was lucky Mel, checking on the fish last night, I dread to think what might of happened otherwise, it wouldn't of been very nice for you this morning. Glad to hear all the fish are now a lot better. How is your OH getting on with the pond, is it going to be long before the fish can go back in there?

You're going to really miss the cat when she goes home Frank. I remember one of our cats climbing up under the covers around our feet when we moved house. The house we moved into was a bit colder than the old one so she must of been cold and wanted to get warm......bless her.

She was quite a character and very protective towards OH, sometimes if I tried to give him a hug she would come running across the room, trying to get in between us. She was such a softy and thought the world of OH. She used to wait on the window sill for him to come home from work, then run to the kitchen door and meow until he gave her a cuddle. I do miss her.

Well, OH and I have been out this morning to buy the paint. We found it for £10 for a 2.5L tin so we've bought 2 tins as they didn't have many left and it keeps well. Then when we got back we took all the wall paper off the ceiling. OH is just taking some of the backing paper off that is still on there and then he's going to make a start on painting it. He's back in work tomorrow so wants to get it painted today. I can do the rest of the room myself, but can't reach the ceiling properly to do that on my own.

My headaches gone today but my back is really sore with moving yet more furniture yesterday, so I'm going to take it a bit easier for the rest of the day. There's nothing more I can do in the dining room for now, so I'm keeping out of OH's way while he sorts the ceiling out.

I might take another look on Ancestry, I found quite a few dates yesterday for OH's side of the family, so I'm hoping to find a few more today and I also want to catch up with some of my programmes I've recorded before I run out of space on the planner.

Going to grab a cup of tea first though

Morning All,

Oh Mel he should have listened to you shouldn't he and it's a good job you spotted they were having difficulty or who knows what you would have found by this morning. I don't know much about Koi other than they need very clean, well aerated water. It sounds like raising the pump so there was plenty of splash into the pool to aerate it did the trick in time. It would have been heartbreaking to lose any of the big beauties you have now. It sounds like you got about as much sleep as us last night!!

I texted OH at 3.00am as I couldn't sleep for expecting him to ring me so told him not to ring me and to just come home whenever it was. He turned up at 5.30am, shattered and with an aching back from sitting in a chair all night. He said there was no change in MIL from the night before and that he'd nearly come home at 11.30pm, but because the nurses were saying she would be gone by morning, he stayed. She's just sleeping peacefully all the time now so I think she will just slip away in her sleep. He's gone back now, after a sustaining brekkie, but if there's still no change he said he might go to a footie match near the hospital this afternoon. I think it would do him good as he's had 11 weeks of visiting and almost daily running about now. They will ring him if there's further change. He can't be there every minute and if she slips away it's not as if she knows whether he is there or not any more. We feel the same Jane, it would be a blessing for her.

He managed to knock the corner of my glasses last night and now they sit over to one side on my nose!! This means my vision out of one eye is all wrong so I'm popping to the opticians next to see if they can straighten them up for me!! Then I'm off to the farm shop.

We have sunshine here too Mandy and a little breeze. It's a good day for getting your pool packed away as it should dry quite quickly.

Ah fancy puss coming in bed to be your hot water bottle Frank! I bet she will remember you and your place now next time she comes for her hols!! :-) It's good Jan will be coming to you now and it will be nice to see the baby. He does sound like a big lad, but Mandy's grandson, Lewis, is a big boy too isn't he!! Babies seem to be getting bigger these days....ouch!!

We have had good weather up to now. Just started spitting. The roofer is still making excuses for not turning up. Wish we hadn't chosen this builder. He seems to only get workmen at the weekends ..we are back home tonight.

Ann ,a football match sounds just the thing for OH this afternoon. His Mum may be like she is for a while. The trouble is you just don't know when it is going to happen and as you say you OH can't be there 24hrs a day..He musn't feel guilty though if she does pass away when he is not there.
That happened to me with my Mum.I had been to Plymouth with Janice and Hannah and we had spent the weekend in the hospital .We had to leave as both Janice and Hannah had work the next day.But sadly Mum died just a few hours after we left her and I was driving the long journey home.Chris met me at the front door to say he had just had the phone call.I did feel bad for a while whishing we had just stayed that bit longer. But at that point there was no sign that Mum was ready to go.

I hope you manage to get your specs sorted. You could end up Bosseyed :-S :-S

Gill a bit of an easy day sounds just what you need today after all that shifting the furniture yesterday.

Frank I love it when a pet (cagt or dog) sneaks in under the duvet :-D.I had a lovely big Ginger cat called Jerry who would actually sleep like a person with his head on the pillow and lying out straight down .He was the best cat I ever had.
Chester would come up and dive under the duvet every morning and stay there until I got up.I can't see Thomas doing that.He is a top of the bed cat.

Yes isn't Bentley the pup sweet. His great big ears and that sad kind of look :-D.

It is so warm ,I have had to put something cooler on.Town was really busy this morning.I changed the things in TK M** Now Jess has a rather jazzy kind of loose trousers.I'm still not sure if they awill be right as she has a definite unique way of dressing....WEIRD is a word `i would use LOL.I changed the top I bought for me and now have realised the new one is too short so that will be going back !!!

Chris says he is feeling a bit 'delicate' today....I think he had a bottle of wine last night after I had gone to bed while he was watching a programme about the Resistance .
He is doing a bit of painting in the summerhouse now.Thomas is out and about.I need him in to do his Flea Treatment.I hate having to do it but needs must as i can't be doing with any little jumping things. Not that he has any at the moment but the month is up from the last treatment.

Hannah will be packing now ready to go to Italy tomorrow with the girls and family of Bride and Groom. They are all on the same flight !!!!.I think she said 17 of them.
The selfie stick I sent her yesterday arrived before 8 this morning and she sent me a selfie of herself sitting in bed LOL.I think she will be ringing later before having an early night as the flight is something like 6 in the morning.

I must get the big hoover out and do the lounge as there is so much black cat hair everywhere :-S

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 29 Aug 2015 14:51

Gill it is going to be a big job on the pool as its not just putting a new liner in he is going to raise it up with more blocks to make it deeper for them. I think it is about 4' 5" deep at the mo. I shall have to see if I can take some pics. I have taken a couple of the pool but can't get a pic of the fish in the pool as the light shines on the water too much.

Must wash up after lunch and see if I can get on the border for a while.

Jane Bently's feet are big as well as his ears.

Ann as the others have said oh can't be there all the time he needs a bit of breathing space. I do hope MIL passes quickly now in her sleep and it will be one great weight off his mind. FIL sounds really settled where he is so Gordon should get more time to himself quite soon now.

Contracts signed then Pat :-D :-D.Another step forward :-D
Will builder work during Bank Holiday? or put it off again?

Fiona

Fiona Report 29 Aug 2015 16:19

Hi Mel

Have e-mailed you a few pics of the decking, looks good and gets the morning sun, great for having a cuppa or even breakfast on, Sofia thinks it is a great stage, does her dancing on it.

Yes my Frank has been busy, did the decking on the first holls week and last week we went for a day out to Loch Lomond Shores where I managed to get 4prs of sandals, had our lunch in Inveraray,

Haven't had problems with my hand now for a while, seems it all cleared up, thank goodness, still putting on my rubber gloves when doing the laundry or cleaning, has become sort of a habit to go straight for the gloves but that's not a bad thing.

Annx

Annx Report 29 Aug 2015 16:46

Well, MIL is at peace now as she passed away this afternoon. OH was only a quarter of an hour from the hospital too. With it being a bank holiday we can do nothing till Tuesday now, not even get the death certificate and my car's booked in for it's MOT then. Typical! At least over the next couple of days we can do things like notify the neighbours and relatives and start a list of things to be done and people to be notified.

I got my glasses fixed.......... so at least I can see the holes in my beads again. :-) Apparently they weren't level at the top as well as knocked sideways, so they were really skew whiff!!

I bet Hannah is excited and looking forward to the trip Jane.

Pat it does sound like the builder uses some people who have other work in the week. I hope the roof is watertight now so the electricians can push on with the wiring this week.

Gill I was beginning to think you were Superwoman, but I see aches have caught up with you too. I bet you will be fine again after a day's rest.
