Thomas has just had a little snack under the patio table.A mouse or something similar. I could he had the devil in him just now when he was in and going for my feet. Why do they do that !!!!!
I have a lovely photo of 2 cats that Hannah sent the other day. Will forward it on.

Afternoon all,
It's been quite a nice day we have seen the sun and we managed to sit out for our coffee and cuppa this afternoon but now it's turn quite chilly and there a few spits of rain on the window. We're off out tonight to my Nephews surprise fiftieth birthday party ,son and family are going too, Chelsea will have had a busy weekend she had a sleep over at her friends house last night and today they were taking her to some adventure thingy and then she comes home at four to get ready for the party tonight !!
Mel, keep it up you are doing very well two days now and before you know it it will be a week gone .
Oh Jane that's some heat to get married in :-0 i hope the reception has air con so everyone can keep cool. Dear little cats ,i bet that's their place they lay to keep cool too .
Pat ,sounds as if things are moving on well now with the house ,you are getting rid of so much ,are you having all new at the new place ? Yes you will have to say to your friends it's a bring a chair drinks party :-D
Wonder how Ann has done with her photo's and paintings ,they must win a prize for her.
The rest will do you good Gill, and you have to get the last bit of comfort sitting on your old settee before you get the new one :-D

Suns out here too. I have just been looking through my jewelry box and came across my nans wedding ring and engagment ring and mums wedding ring and engagment ring which she used to call " winking, blinking and nod " three diamonds, two small either side of a bigger one. My ring from oh has three stones so thats my Winking Blinking and Nod but mine are two diamonds either side of a saphire. Funny that because oh chose this ring and my nans ring was also saphires and diamonds. I wore it once and lost the big saphire out the middle!!!!!!!

"Evening All " Dixon of Dock Green.
I have just had the biggest and best Skate wing ever. The flest was so white and tasty. I am going to send an Email to Morriso#s to thank them !!! Makes a change from COMPLAINTS
Hope the wedding went off without a hitch !!! You can never tell that someone won't drop a "CLANGER" and forget the words.
Mel you are a good girl 5 ***** for you. keep up the good work.
I see with have no news from Ann, I trust all went well for her. <3 <3 <3 What prize did you get ???
Yes it's been a funny sort of day. One minute sun then cloud. I put the heating on earlier, now I am too hot.
Wasn't that impressed with England tonight even though they won six nil. I wonder how they will do against a better team. ??
Still in my dressing gown, I can't remember the last time this happened !! It must have been when I was in hospital with my stroke. Still not feeling on top of the world.
Martine's MIl has the Electric back on. The place is Victorian and has never been rewired. It needs another new box of tricks, this will be the FORTH.. Uncle "GEORGE" not Jack, has been discharges from A & E. They recon he has a urine infection and have given him medication. His nieces son is staying tonight with him to make sure all is well.
Massive sun set tonight, I can't even look into it. !!! I just tried and my eyes went all blurred. :-P :-P
Going to watch a bit of tele, then BED for a read an an early night.

gosh that's hot Jane for the wedding, they'll all melt. Hope the speeches went well. I love the pic of the cats. I believe there are a lot of strays there and the locals feed them. Those two looked as if they were fed well.
Hope you feel a bit better soon Frank. Did you tell the doctor about your shakes, was there anything she could do about them? Glad to hear Martine's MIL has her electric back on, it sounds like she need a complete re-wire of her place, but that would cost quite a lot I should imagine. Hope Uncle George feels better soon, I assume he'll be on antibiotics for the infection, nice to hear he has someone staying with him tonight.
All your jewellery sounds lovely Mel, how are you getting on with not smoking. Are you using patch's or going cold turkey?
Sandra and I are still plodding through all the programmes we have recorded and we are now watching the 2nd film. They are thrillers which we like to watch every now and then.
Better get back to it Bye for now

Evening All,
Well a nice man helped me position my entries as I'd never entered a show before. I entered 4 of the photo classes and also put 3 of my paintings in 3 different classes. I left then (for the judging) trying hard not to look at other entries as I knew the art group had been allowed to enter this year and thought if I saw those I might be tempted to grab mine and run out again! lol. I went back after 2.00pm when they re-opened and let the public in as well. Well, I was very surprised as I got a second and a third with my paintings and also a first, second and third with my photos!! :-) I was well chuffed!! :-) As we collected our things to take home, one of the local councillors who it turns out runs the local art group sped over to me and asked if they were my paintings and if I'd consider joining their art group. He assured me they sit down to paint (I know I couldn't stand for 2 hours! lol) and said I could come and watch at first if I wanted to. They use watercolour whereas I use acrylic paint but he didn't think that would matter so I might go and have a look to see what they do. Then when I got to the door they gave me £5 prize money which I'd forgot about. :-)
I still have my first engagement ring Mel which has a corn blue sapphire with diamonds around. The one I wear now is a solitaire diamond. I ought to get the sapphire set in another ring so I could wear it. It's in a gold ring and I don't wear gold now and my fingers are too fat for it!! Fancy the water leak eroding the soil away like that. It makes you wonder where the water that leaked has ended up? Yes keep it up Mel.......you'll have to get a new habit to take place of your after lunch ciggy won't you. Your accidental pruning has given the clematis a new lease of life by the sounds of it.
Jane you don't have 'buttons' on your keyboard.......they are 'KEYS' !! lol. The cat and kitten are lovely aren't they. I hope it will be a bit cooler than 38 degrees where you will be going in Italy!! :-0 I think I'd be wearing a floppy hat, big kaftan, fan and iced drink in my hand for the wedding.
Do you still have any dining chairs/garden chairs your friends could sit on Pat? I'm sure you'll make do somehow or failing that go to a cafe for a natter. I'm glad things are moving more quickly on the new place now. It's an ideal opportunity to get your sons' things moved out, otherwise you could have them for ever like my first MIL did. She even had a box of her daughter's BIL's things at her house as well.
Sorry to hear you have had the shakes Frank and I hope it has passed now as it can't be pleasant for you. An early night is a good idea. I didn't realise Morr*sons did Skate wings. I've still to try one so must remember to get some next time I'm there. I hope Martine's OH's uncle is ok and it's good her MIL's electric is back on now. They don't want to be stumbling in the dark at their ages.
Your OH has done well with the ceiling Gill. I bet he has a few aches after doing that! Good idea to take it a bit easier yourself for while, you've been on the go for ages now.
Hope you have a nice time tonight Mandy. Young Chelsea should sleep well tonight!!
It feels very autumnal now and was really chilly at lunchtime before the sun came out.
I'm having an early night too so see you all tomorrow.

Congratulations Ann, well done. We all told you how good you were. I don't blame you for being really chuffed. I'd love to see some pictures of your entries if that's possible? I bet you can't wait to join the art club now. Did you take a look at the other entries when you went back in?
OH is having another go at the ceiling at the moment, he's having to do an hour or so after work to make sure the room is ready for MIchelle to sleep in on Wednesday as Sandra is settled in the front bedroom now with all her stuff in there.
We're going to watch the qualifying for the F1 after he's finished as we haven't seen it yet and don't want to accidently catch the results on the news. I recorded it for him earlier so we'll probably fast forward most of it to speed things up so OH can go the bed. He can't go to bed to late as he's up again in the morning for his last day of work before his 2 weeks holiday.
The polystyrene tiles are really glued on so I've not been able to help him. I'm not that steady on ladders and it's really tough to scrape the ceiling so OH told me to leave it for him to do incase I lose my balance on the ladders and fall. The paper and the tiles are coming down quite fast but OH thinks the glue will take a lot longer.
Well, I'd better go, I've got the x factor on pause for Sandra

Morning all
Dry but a lot cooler here today
OH did well on the ceiling last night but there's still a long way to go, taking all the glue off. I've had a go this morning but it's quite hard to do so it's going to take quite a few days yet to finish. Hopefully then after I've done a bit of filling it should be ready to be painted. I don't think it'll be painted before Michelle gets here though. We're just concentrating on removing everything from the ceiling and making the room liveable for a few days so Michelle can sleep in there. At the moment there is only a corner wardrobe in there so we need to put the bed back in and the curtains up for her.
I'm just having a break and a cuppa, then I'll get back to chipping away at the glue.
What has everyone else got planned for today?

Morning all and evening Kim,
A beautiful morning here at the moment with that yellow thing that hangs in the sky sometimes and white fluffy things hanging on a blue backdrop.
Oh is in the pond blocking up and I am sitting here in the corner of the kitchen diner drinking a cup of tea, sorry COT, and talking to you lot. I shall be doing our big breakfast a little later on and maybe get up the border for an hour or so after cleaning the chickens out.
Just got to typing Cup of tea and carried on but when I looked up at the screen thats all that was there. It keeps doing that to me. :-|

Goodness, you've all been so busy!! We haven't been up to much at all, well, nothing of interest since our day out! Just mundane domestic stuff! OH cleaned the log burner chimney thoroughly this morning, so that's up and running for the winter. It's a lovely day here, so we're sitting out with our rather big baby, having a cuppa coffee and contemplating our day! (there's always weeding!!). We watched a very interesting Time Team on TV in bed this morning. One we'd recorded ages ago, and it was well worth the wait! This meant we didn't get up till just after 9, which is late for us, so we had a late breakfast, and now won't have lunch till about 5 o'clock instead of the usual 2.30 on Sunday. Son and partner moved house this w/end, they now live about 2 hours from us instead of half an hour :-( Son still works up here though, so we shall see him in the week no doubt looking for a meal!! They both have their own houses, and have been renting a place locally and renting out both their properties! Now the plan is to renovate both properties, sell them, and buy what they want reasonably local to us! Well, that's the plan! we shall see! OH is picking beans, so better go and look keen!!!!

Morning my Lovelies, evening Kim.
Not a bad morning here. Thank goodness, Ros has decided to start to treat the outside of the conservatory. She is busy sanding down the door and frame. before putting the Sadoli# on. I will try to do some of the panels myself, if I feel up to it. Perhaps tomorrow !!!
I had a good night lAST NIGHT AND SLEPT TILL 6.45 (Sorry again) I am catching the "caps lock" when I i hit the "a" It;s really getting to me now !!!
Well done ANN. What a cleaver girl you are. I didn't realize what talent we have on here. There's you Maureen. William ( Jane the Pe artist and me not far behind) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Omly joking Jane <3 <3 <3
Liz you have the right idea. As they say "there is always tomorrow" And at your AGE you need to rest more :-D :-D :-D I'm getting very good at it. ;-) ;-) ;-)
I have got everything ready for dinner tonight about 5.30/6.00 pm Roast Leg of Pork. Roast Parsnips and potato's. Runners, peas and carrot and Ros's favorite Cauliflower with her Cheese sauce. I made a lot of apple sauce yesterday from the apples on the tree. Five bags in the freezer. Oh I forgot Yorkshire pudding round the meat. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Better see if the worker wants tea or coffee.

I am still being good.............
Oh is working away on the block work down the side of the pond nearest the decking. It is going to look a bit strange at first Ithink with it being so close to where we sit and have our coffee and watch the fish. They are going to be under our noses so to speak and he has only raised it up two 4" blocks on their sides plus the cement. It will give the fish that bit more depth for the winter though.
I entered our local show in the next village where I go for my paper when we were first down here. I won best in show with a plant and had a cup for the year. Various other wins for raspberries and a buttonhole. Mum won something with a picture of the face of a cow and I also won first prize for a miniture garden in a 8" pot holder. I made a tiny arch out of twigs and it had cross paths with tiny tiny flower pots with fairy moss plants in and other tiny plants of alpines. We got certificates and cards and prize money.

Morning ...Afternoon now All
Frank what are you insinuating LOL You make me sound dreadful naughty boy :-P :-P....I do like a glass or so though :-D
I see you got the pic of the Bridesmaids..I am surprised as I got the failed to deliver email so assumed no-one had received the photo. Has anyone else got it?
What a lovely sunny day :-D :-D :-D.Summer once more. I have just cooked the Roast Beef for later.I decided to do a full roast today as I won't be doing another now until after our holiday and I thought James might appreciate it. I have things in the freezer for him for some of the days we are away.He just needs to remember to take something out in the mornings before he goes to work. Then the other days he will have to either shop or have a dig through the freezer for other things.
I wasn't woken by Thomas until 5.20 this morning ,so it is getting better :-D.He was funny earlier .I had the joint of beef ready to go in the oven and it was just sitting on top .He could obviously smell it and he had his nose right up at the edge of the oven door lol.If he is good I might add a little bit to his dinner dish this evening.
Liz it doesn't sound like your Son will be too far especially if he is ging to be popping in for meals LOL..Quite a project they seem to be planning with the renovating of the 2 properties. That should make them a pretty packet :-D.
Gill that getting the glue off the ceiling sounds like real back breaking work.Don't over do it and hurt yourself. We still have one bedroom with Woodchip on..Heaven knows how long that has been up.
Mel I think doing a BIG BREAKFAST on a Sunday sounds a really nice idea.Do you do the full works? The cat is awake and stalking so I better go and cover the beef :-D :-D

Yes Jane, it is a good financial project!! Partners house (part of her divorce settlement!) Is in a smart part of Surrey with a large garden, paddock and stables, has been let for about six years and needs some updating Son has a small two bed thatched cottage in a village in the Berkshire downs, which is very pretty, largish garden, onto some fields and views to die for! He bought it about twelve years ago when his marriage broke up as his ex kept their bungalow as her settlement! All a bit complicated! but the two properties should sell well and leave them able to buy exactly what the want in the area they want to be I . OH is weedkilling this afternoon, not before time, as these b. weeds are a real problem.
