Evening all,

It's been a drizzly day here ,one of those days you don't know if you should hang washing out or not ,i did in the end but it didn't dry .
Feeling much better now the pain has gone it just seems to last a couple of days and then it goes.

Your garden looks nice and green Frank,i like the owl and all the toms you have , i have given up on my toms you could sole your shoes with the skins on my toms they were so tough and the skins all split !!
The cucumbers have been better i'am still picking those in fact today i picked six !!

Ann, what a lovely garden you visited and i loved the puss too ,he/she must be used to people if OH could pick him up like that .

Mel, how is the fish now ?and how lucky was that you finding him ,if the banties hadn't kicked up a stink you might have lost him .

Ewwwww Jane the poor girls getting splattered phew !!!

Happy Anniversary William and Carmel <3 <3 hope you've had a lovely day .

hav'nt read the posts yet but I just want to say is it Sophia's birthday today and if it is HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIA <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Also Happy Anniversary William and Carmel. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

We had breakfast at the garden center this morning. We went out really early to get some gaffer tap and some pond mat to put the new liner on as the opld stuff dos'nt fit now he has made the pond deeper. I bought a nice Monada and another plant I can't remember the name of but I have been looking at it in different place at different prices of £5.95 and £3.95 and today there was one in the GC for £2.99 so I bought it. Also a sack of peanuts to keep me going through the winter if they don't eat too many.

Ann the fish jumped out the pool and it stands about a meter off the ground. It seems to be ok at the moment so perhaps it had'nt been out that long. Oh had just come in and I sat at the pc and the bantams started hollering so I went straight out.

I went shopping this afternoon to Bideford so have had a right busy day and should sleep well tonight. When I got back he has the old liner back in place and has pressure washed it all and before that he hoovered all the cement bits out with poor old Henry. I must take some more pictures and get him to download them for me.

Right must do the chickens and then I shall read the posts.

William Report 8 Sep 2015 19:07

Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for the anniversary greetings, much appreciated. We've had a lovely day when daughter Dorothy took us out for a surprise meal at the Griifin Inn just outside Nuneaton. Carmel and I had the beef and beer pie and Dorothy had a steak. Really big helpings, lovely food and I had a pint of Guinness to wash it down and a Tutti Frutti ice cream for dessert. As Jane said, there are a few photos on Facebook but if there's anyone who hasn't seen them, just yell and I'll email them out to all and sundry.
The Griifin Inn is just past the Griff House Hotel, one time home of novelist George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans) and she would have passed the Griffin in her day going by trap to worship at the Old Meeting (United Reformed) church in Bedworth, where we were married 36 years ago today.
It was a complete surprise as yesterday we had a drive over to Kenilworth and a look around with no plans for today. When we got home there was a message on the answerphone from Dorothy inviting out for a meal today. We were a bit shattered this morning, so it was nice to picked up, driven there, and treated to our anniversary lunch.

By the way Jane, I don't think Thomas is actually a cat. He sounds more like a cross between a tiger and Jaws!! :-D. I remember Alan, Carmel's late son, they had a stray ginger cat move in when they lived at Mountsorrel. He was a bit wild to start with, but it was so rewarding as he slowly mellowed and then let me make a fuss of him. Can't recall his name now, but they always gave their cats weird names anyway. Our late friend Helga, was always adopting stray cats, I think it's like the tramps, there is some unknown sign that says "Good home here for stray cats". Most of them became my friends anyway, I do love cats, although when I was young at home, we always had dogs.
Think we will have a easy day tomorrow, hope the sun shines a bit better than it did today. It was misty overnight here but had lifted by 7am.

TTFN all

Poor girls getting splattered with the drain stuff. What a horrid experience.

Di called in this morning just after we got back from the G C she drove past us and stopped to talk. She was going up the shop to get some ciggies and she asked if I had had her text and with that my phone beeped and it was her message coming through. She came in for coffee afterwards and was surprised to find I was'nt smoking. I had four chicken carcases in the freezer for her as she boils them all up for her two dogs so she was pleased with those and a load of The Garden books I get from the RHS each month so she now has plenty of reading too.

Cold pork egg and chips for us tonight and I am just going to put the chips in.

Well done Mel ,in still being good :-D..Glad to see the fish is ok .

I saw some party pics of Sofia and her birhday party.Lots of lovely little girls in Princess dresses :-D :-D.She is looking so grown up now.
Fiona am I right in thinking she looks tall for her age?

Mandy think it was a very unpleasant experience for the girls having that 'MUCK' splattered on them.Plus some of it went up right up under the dresses :-S :-S.Not nice :-S :-S

At least you did well with your cues Mandy, mine gave up the ghost after producing 2 cues! Glad your pain has eased. Yes, OH said the cat must be very used to people to let him pick it up as well.

What a horrid experience for the girls Jane, yuk, yuk! I mentioned that film to OH and he rattled off the lead actors and told me we should go and see it when it comes this way as it should be very good. I had a google then and it does look good so I'll be interested whether you enjoy it.

It sounds like you had a good day for your anniversary William and a nice surprise meal.

The Monarda was a bargain price Mel. They are quite an unusual flower aren't they and will be a good perennial in your borders. The poor fish must have landed with a wallop!!

OH came back from the city saying it's horrid now. They kept him in the bank over an hour for the simplest thing that should have taken a quarter of the time so that didn't please him. He said that as he was walking about 40% of the people were speaking foreign languages and most of those speaking english were 'eff'ing and blinding'!!! In the 70s-90s when we both worked at offices in the city it was so much nicer and not run down and scruffy like it is now. I used to look forward to a mooch round the shops and market then. I suppose it's the same in many other places now though.

OH is at a match 50 miles up the M1 but asked me for a list of jobs for him to do tomorrow morning so I've done one! :-D I've tidied up and dusted everywhere and cleaned the ensuite and kitchen, so he can do the bathroom and hoover through. I've got an eye test in the morning and then the vicar will be calling about the funeral after lunch, hence the clean up!! :-)

Hi all, just popped in before bed.

Nice for the girls Jane. I don't think . I wouldn't want to be chatting them up tonight. :-D :-D :-D

England won 2-0 tonight, I know how you love me to keep you in touch. !!!

Spoke to Conrad earlier. He was still in the office 9.45 pm his time. Twelve hour day today. So he has been busy.

Ban news on his house front. They are having new stairs put in and the builder has found the wall has dry rot and will have to be replaced "MORE EXPENSE" poor little bugge#s One step forward and two back.

Jane I knew it was something like that, I have never been.

Good Girl Mel, keep it up <3 <3 Both Ros and I feel you have cracked it now !!!

It looks like we will be spending Christmas day at Jan's Daughter Kerry and Mark. with baby Alexander. Then go down to Devon on Boxing Day, and stay as long as we want. So that's something to look forward too. ;-) ;-)

Jan is coming up for Ros's birthday on the 19th. Conrad was hoping to come home as a surprise, but the fare is somewhere around £400.00 so it won't happen.

Well I'm off to bed, good night God Bless.

Morning all

What day yesterday. Made arrangements for 2 old neighbours to pop in for a drink forgot I had arranged to meet a old work friend before hand. So was making phone calls. Alan had an appointment changed so he was late back for the neighbours. I was just tired out from everything so had an early night. Dozing off during new tricks.

The night before we were looking for a new washing machine for the new place. Clare said her one was having to be. Disconnected It was only in a temporary place while the build was going on. No point having the old one put back in the new place. So we changed it ready. That is being delivered there today but not fitted. I don't know when that will be. She will have to use a friends. I hope it is fitted before the 19th when we move as we will both be without one. They will just have to finish the laundry room first. The plastering has been started. Painting next week.

Patricia Report 9 Sep 2015 09:22

From this weekend we will have to pack everything just keeping a few bits out. I am using the bits from the freezer etc. forgot i I was moving so I went an bought a large bag of chips by mistake so it is chips with most things lol I need to defrost the freezer before I go even though it is being left here with the cooker and washing machine. We will be all electric and I have a gas cooker. Clare and I will be using the same washing machine. She needs one with a bigger wash load. I will still do small wash loads. Her machine came with the house when she first moved in
I'm at work this afternoon. Not many sessions now

Friday morning at work again, in the afternoon taking my brother to the hospital for his eye check from when he had his op in the evening work friends will be popping around for a drink. I think I will need one. Also my son is popping in to collect something as well

Thanks for the emails and pictures. nice pictures on FB Will

Your poor fish Mel. I hope he is ok. The friend who had my big fish had to rush out one morning. One of mine had jumped and had got caught in the netting. Since then she has had the pond redone as the water essential flowing back in properly. I think she had some kind of black netting put under the surface of the water to stop the heron that flies over

Ann. I hope you are getting everything sorted out now

So you liked my jigsaw the Frank. I did leave another comment. Are you still missing the cat.

Have a nice holiday Jane when you go

Morning Pat and all, evening Kim.

It's all go for you then Pat. I bet you feel that it will never happen, we have all been there and it does !!!! Keep positive, as I am sure you will.

Ros took Lewis back yesterday afternoon. The cat we had totally ignored her, but was all over Lewis :-D :-D Her Name by the way is "LOLLYPOP"

I seemed to have had a good night. Woke at 7.00 am and dropped off again till 8.45. Had a nice sausage sandwich with brown sauce with my 2nd COT,

Ros was at her sewing machine making a blanket for the children. The ones she took back yesterday got a lot of praise from the woman who runs it ;-) ;-)

Nothing sort of morning here as yet. Totally overcast, with no sign of the "CURRENT BUN"

Where's Gill, I hope she hasn't done herself any injury moving all that furniture. :-( :-(

Ros is off to see "THE MOUSE TRAP" this afternoon at the local theatre with Carolyn. So I will be "HOME ALONE" again. Good old KINDLE I am now 54% into "ROOTS" So will get a bit more of that read. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Afternoon all

Nice and sunny here today

We've been so busy these past two days getting everywhere sorted ready for Michelle arriving later today.

I did have the vodka but didn't go back up the ladders, thought better of it ;-) ;-) Then Michelle rang, so we had a good chat for an hour or so while OH watched the F1. He missed the end as he fell asleep on the sofa, so he asked me who won instead. He was pleased with the football last night and England winning 2-0. Rooney was so chuffed wasn't he Frank?

I'm feeling a bit poorly today, I bit queasy with a headache as well. I've tried something to eat and taken some painkillers but nothing seems to be working. I'm very tired too.

We've given up on the small bedroom for now as I had to make it up for Michelle. We have decided to call our friend and have him plaster the whole room then we can just paint it when the plaster is dry as the glue is proving to hard to scrape off.

I haven't read all the posts yet, so will go and do that now

Morning all and evening Kim,

Bit overcast here today but it is dry. I had a good lay in this morning after all my gallyvanting yesterday.

Oh is trying to get the pond liner in so I shan't be around for quite a while.

I had forgotten to post this!!.

Gill hubby is on two weeks holiday Frank so I expect they are decorating or going places.

Peace and quiet here,

Earlier when I had finished preparing the dinner for tonight, Ros came out and asked if she could help with the Veg. She said she didn't know I was out in the kitchen, where the Bloo#y hell could I be, She was in and out of the bathroom/bedroom getting ready that only leaves the kitchen and Lounge. Where did she think I had gone TO THE MOON !!! Needless to say words were exchanged. She went into the garden mumbling under her breath, I said if you have something to say, SAY IT :-( :-( :-(

Roast Chicken, Roast potato's parsnips, Runners carrots peas and cabbage. I do my chicken in an onion gravy. Always nice and moist. I can't remember the last time I did "A ROAST CHICKEN" any other way.

Mel, at least while you are having a lie in, you are not wanting a ciggie. ;-) ;-) ;-) How's the pond liner going ???

Still hasn't got bright here today, the breeze has got up a bit, and it looks chilly outside.

I am in the "DOGHOUSE" Where I sit in my armchair without a shirt on, I have marked the back cushion with the grease from my body. Ros will have to take the cover off and take it to be dry cleaned. I have now started to put a cover over the back of the chair. :-P :-P :-P MOAN MOAN<>

Hope Jane enjoyed her Film this afternoon. Ros is in the same building as her watching the "MOUSE TRAP"

Back to my book now. see you later.

Oh dear Frank, it sounds like you're not having a very good day today. Hope things improve for you soon. :-)

Michelle is due here in about an hour or so and I still don't feel any better. The timing isn't good, hope I feel better soon. Michelle's only here for a few days and I don't want it spoilt because I'm ill :-(

I still haven't caught up with the posts, I did try but my head hurt to much to concentrate.

Going to have a lie down see if that helps

I've just checked my emails. Love your entries to the show Ann. I can see why you won so many prizes. Your garden looks lovely Frank. Haven't you done well with your toms, ours were useless this year and all your lovely plants as well. I'm supposed to be going to my mum's on Friday to do a bit of gardening for her. She wants to take lots of her plants out of her raised boarders and has said I can have some more of her Golden Rod, so I must remember to take some pots with me to put the plants in.

Glad to hear your pain has eased now Mandy :-)

Oh no Jane, those poor girls, lucky for them someone could bring some clean clothes. Hope you enjoyed your film today.

It sounds all go at yours Pat. Only another 10 days to go. I bet you'll be glad when it's all over and you are finally settled? Hope the weather is kind to you on move day.

Sorry to hear about your poor fish Mel, hope it's ok now. You're doing well, still not having a ciggy.....Keep going <3

The pics of Chelsea on her birthday are lovely Fiona, all those pretty dresses, it looked like she was having a great time. I like her cake.

Well, Michelle should be here any minute now. I'm cooking a roast chicken, which should be ready around 6pm. Michelle loves roast chicken so I thought it would be a bit of treat for her, as she doesn't eat very well at home with working such long hours. She says, sometimes she doesn't get home until after 9pm and she's to tired to start cooking then.

Better go and check on it
