Both been busy with the pond today. We had to cut off the overhanging bit as rain was forcast and if it had got rain on it in all the creases we would'nt have been able to lift it. Oh got it on the trailer when we had folded it up. I tried to tip the trailer but I was'nt strong enough.
That builder wants shooting Ann. You should all make sure you know exactly where your boundries are. I hope he can't build three bungalows there. Another step nearer to clearing the house then with the stair lift out now it will be easier to get stuff down the stairs.
Lovely pics of Carmel and William on their anniversary. Thanks for sharing them William. I love that outfit of Carmel's she looks really super in that.
Fiona what a turn up finding those people and actually meeting up with them and lunch too. Hope it all goes well.
Signing out now as I am tired after all the lugging about I have sone today and I did'nt get any of the ironing done yet again!!
Night night.

Morning all
It's been raining in the night so everywhere is wet today and after such lovely weather these past few days. Hope the rain stays away as Michelle is travelling home today.
We were so busy yesterday with my mum's garden that I didn't get a chance to go online. My sister was at mums so it was nice for all of us to be together, but I was so tired when we got home that I went to bed at 10.30pm which is very very early for me. I do feel much better for it today though. I'm going to ring a plasterer friend of ours today to see if he can plaster the small room, once it's dry we can paint it, then all the decorating will be finished.
Sorry to hear about Jan Frank. Do you think Conrad will make it back to be with her? Hope the MRI goes ok <3
I sent your birthday card yesterday Fiona, so hopefully you'll have it on time. How nice to meet up with the people from Australia, they will be so pleased of your offer of help around the graveyards. Hope you have a lovely lunch with them.
So the builders are causing havoc again Ann? Hopefully they won't try and take land that doesn't belong to them. I bet you'll be glad when it's all sorted out and finished? Glad to hear the stair lift has now gone, that's another thing out of the way and like Mel said it will make it much easier to take things down the stairs now. Did you manage to use the stair lift to take the small stuff down stairs like you wanted to do before it was taken out?
Glad to hear James and Jess made it to Berlin safely Jane. Hope you're not travelling through a thunder storm when you go away and that you have a nice time. Hopefully the weather will be dry for you as you were concerned about it raining weren't you? I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself, no matter what the weather does ;-)
I didn't have the pizza Jane but the girls enjoyed it. I'm not keen on that type of food so made a home made quiche instead for myself. OH had fish and chips.
So it's all go with the pond liner Mel? It sounds like you're both getting there. Be careful you don't hurt yourself though.
I love the photo's of you and Carmel, William. That dessert looked tasty :-D.
Michelle took a couple of photo's of Rosie yesterday when she came to our living room window sill, so I'll send them to everyone so you can see how cheeky she is LOL.
OH has just woken up, so I'm going to have a cuppa with him. Sandra and Michelle are still asleep, but should be up soon. Michelle has to head off home in about an hour and a half.
Going to get a cuppa now. See you all later <3

Morning folks, Evening Kim,
FALSE ALARM with Jan. It seems that the Doctor has changed some tablets, and is giving her sensations down her arm and stopping her right hand having any control. So of course she jumped to the conclusion that it was a STROKE. The MRI and bloods were O.K. So panic over.
Glad the stair lift came out quickly Ann, and G decided to come home instead of driving up the M 1 Was it the Reading match he watched ???
I walked down the pub for the match, and Tony came in later. When we came out of the pub it was lashing down with rain Got soaked getting to the car. and getting out at home.
Rosie looks in good condition Gill. must be all those nuts you feed her.
What's all this dreaming about me Jane. ??? WAS IT A GOOD MEAL I COOKED ?? lol
What time are you off on Monday ?? Hope you don't have a bad flight.
Mel I would think that you and OH will be glad when that pond is finished. It must be hard work lugging that liner around.
Madam is on the usual shopping trip with Martine. Uncle George is very confused and not sure where he is. Poor old Chap. :-( :-(
I have promised I will hoover through while she is out this morning, That shouldn't take me long, then I will get S & S. and get ready to go to watch football. 12.45 pm K.O.
See you later, Safe journey home to Michelle

Morning all and evenign Kim,
Quite nice this morning as LIz said sunshine but we don't seem to have the showers YET. The sky is a bit cloudy though with some white and grey clouds.
I forgot to mention Jan last night. I do hope she recovers really well from the stroke. Must be awful being so far away from hubby at a time like that. She must try to relax a bit more. I know they have had a lot of worry with the house lately. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
Oh has just asked me where his big sissors are so I told him I brought them in out of the rain last night. Good he said I shall sort out your hair with them. He is always on about me having my hair cut. I may surprise him one day and do it myself.

Glad to hear it wasn't a stroke Frank, Jan must be relived? At least she can sort out her meds, which might help the hand situation.
So you might cut your hair Mel? Maybe you could just take a few inches off. I always regretted having my hair cut short after it being long for 10 years, so now it's long again I doubt I'll ever have it cut short again.
OH is watching the F1 Rewind with Murray Walker I recorded for him ages ago. I'm a bit bored so might make a start on emptying the small room again ready for it to be finished. It's stopped raining after a heavy shower, so I can put the bed frame in the garage. The rest of the stuff can go at one end of the living room. I left some space there, knowing I would need to empty the small room again once Michelle went home.
Yes July is quite a distance away Liz, she only visits every now and then as she is busy with work and has a new boyfriend now, so she doesn't have a lot of free time.
We exchanged Christmas gifts while she was here and the last time she came down was for Sandra's 30th. I won't see her on any of my birthdays or Christmas as she's not allowed time off in November or December, which also means I won't see her on any of her birthdays either because her's is in November the same as mine. At least she'll see her dad for his 50th even if she doesn't see me for mine. Although she did say she would have to see if she can book her dad's birthday off, it depends on what everyone else has booked off already, so we'll just have to wait and see.
Better make a start on the small room, it won't do itself LOL

Goodness Gill, who on earth does Michelle work for?!! I've never heard of not having time off to that extent! Even working in care you could always get some days off over the Xmas period though I do remember that you had to book summer holidays well in advance, usually about four months to make sure you could get the the time, particularly if you were planning to go away. Cassie is in her crate after having a long walk, so we should have some peace for a while!! I had my hair cut yesterday Mel, and I certainly wouldn't allow OH near me with a pair of sissors! although I do cut his hair and have it planned for tomorrow!!

I have just rang Tony for a lift to the pub. I have done my jobs, and got a joint of beef from the freezer for tomorrow.
That is a long time between visits Gill 10 months !!! Surely she can get time off during that time. How far away does she work. TIMBUCHTO lol
I've had one of my shaky turns this morning. I just don't know what brings them on. I had my shower and shave, sat down a while before getting dressed. Then came over all HOT and started to shake, and now I have a headache starting.
How's little Cassie doing Liz, still keeping you busy I expect with all this walking ;-) ;-)
How strange is this, I found my other glass's that I have never worn, when I put them on I can't see a thing out of them. I think they must have put the wrong lenses in them. :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 I thought I was going BLIND. Will go back in with them to Tesc# and see what they have to say. Good job I can still use the others.

Aftrenoon Everyone. Gill I love the pic of your little Rosie..I am wondering if she has had babies ,as her teats seem to be well on show??? That is a very long time to wait to see Michelle again. Is there any chance you might be able to travel to where she is at all ?
Frank I don't think I got to eat your meal in my dream. But I'm sure it would have been delicious :-D :-D..That is a relief for Jan now knowing it wasn't a stroke after all.
I wouldn't dare try and cut Chris or James's hair. Not that they would let me anywhere near lol..I did cut my Dads hair once.He was very brave letting me do it.I cut a big chunk out by mistake :-S :-S..But luckily he had very wavy hair so it wasn't too noticable .
You take it easy Frank today after your shaky do.Definitely NO LADDERS. Our dinner tonight is Chicken Kievs,Crispy Potato Slices and all the veg that is in the fridge.I can't leave any fresh stuff as it will have all gone off by the time James gets back and I doubt he would think to chuck it out.I would find it all festering whe nI get back :-S Have had my nails done ,got some food stuff in for James ,given the big bathroom a good clean and the en suite and hoovered our bedroom oh and dusted the lounge. So I think that is it now.All I have to do is to make sure I have everything I need in my suitcase and carry on bag.Camera all charged up ,spare specs and my varifocal sunglasses ,Kindle and Charger all ready to pack .I'm sure I will suddenly find something else lol... I bought the Rescue Remedy this morning.I must just try and not worry yet about flying through bumpy weather.I can just panic when and if it happens !!!.We are in the first row of seats on the plane so at least if I make a fool of myself I won't have too many other passengers looking at me.It is only a couple of hours flying time so not too long :-D
The sun is shining here and it's lovely and warm :-D

Afternoon All,
Hope you soon feel better Frank. It isn't nice when you feel like that. OH was going to north of Nottingham if he'd gone to that match. They are all non league matches he goes to now. What a relief for Jan to find it was just her medication. I bet Conrad was relieved too.
It's a shame Michelle can't have more time off Gill, but I remember as a civil servant working for a big govt department it was difficult to get time off at times. We had to apply for all the leave we wanted in the year in January, otherwise you might not get it!! With serving the public, business need came first. I would often work both Christmas Eve and/or Boxing Day as staff with children thought they should have priority at those times. If it was important though, we would dig our heels in to be sure we were treated equally. At least we started working flexitime in the 70s so you could ask for odd days off when you were enough in credit with your hours which was handy if you needed a day off. We didn't get time off for doctor/hospital or dentist appointments and had to log the time they took and make up the hours. We were allowed just a day off for close family funerals.
What a cute photo of Little Rosie! She is looking very hopeful......of nuts I think!! lol.
Our paths might have crossed in Nuneaton yesterday William as we walked by the Co*p at about 11.00am! Then we went off to Ullesthorpe Court for lunch.
Mel I bet it was hard work lugging that liner about. I bet you will be glad when the pond is filling up with water now. I expect it will take longer now it is deeper. I wouldn't let my OH near my hair with scissors either!! It took me ages to decide to have my hair cut shorter, but now I prefer it. I remember in the car how it would trap in the window when you wound it up when it was long!
There's another village show a bit further away at Sharnford today so I'm moseying off to that now to have a look at the entries. OH has gone to a match on his own, again somewhere north of Nottingham.

I don't think Michelle wants to visit that's why she doesn't do it very often. She's quite happy with her new life and doesn't look like she's enjoying herself when she's here.
I think the only reason she came in April was because it was Sandra's 30th and this time because she was picking up her birthday and Christmas presents. I don't want to bother her by asking her to visit more times than she wants to.
We can't stay at hers as she is only in a one bedroom flat so there isn't any room, plus she's never invited us or even suggested us going to her and we couldn't now anyway, as OH doesn't have anymore holidays left until next April.
Michelle just left, we didn't know she was moving out until she text me to say she wasn't coming back, so I think it's best to leave her to it, otherwise she may never come to visit us at all, that would really upset Sandra, which I wouldn't want to happen. I just try to keep myself busy, so I don't have to think about it to much. She spent most of her time while she was here texting her boyfriend and reading her book anyway. She works in retail Liz and she told us she's not allowed to have any holidays in November or December, I don't know how true that it though.
Have you put anymore of your art into the show you're going to today Ann? If you have I hope you win again :-D :-D ;-) <3
Sorry to hear you had one of your shaky turns again today Frank. Did you have a word with the doctor, maybe she can let you know what is causing them.
It sounds like you're all ready for the off on Monday, Jane. I hope the travelling isn't to bad for you. I'm sure you'll be ok.
Well, I'd better get back to the small room, I'm carrying on with trying to take the glue off the ceiling. If nothing else, it'll give me something to do. BBL

What a strange thing with your glasses Frank. You must have tried them when they made them for you surely. They won't let you go till they have positioned properly. They arn't the extra pair from a previous eye test are they?
Ponds still filling up. It has been days now. We don't leave it filling over night and its only the hose plus some water from the well once a day which used to fill it up when we had the leak.
I bought some nice mixed tulip bulbs in Mo**isons the other day and some Alliums in Holsworthy. Have never grown Alliums this tall before but keep seeing them in gardens on the telly so thought I would give them a go and see if they like my garden. Also I have 40 crocus to put round the big ash tree so I think as the ground is a bit softer after last night rain I will go and do that now. I am putting the tulips in pots as the deer eat them if I put them in the border. I had some nice dark mauve ones that flowered each year til the deer came along and last year and the year before they ate them off just as the buds were showing. :-| :-| :-|

Back from the pub, and had lunch,. Now ready for an afternoon relaxing either in the armchair or the BED. If I go for a lie down with the football on the radio, no doubt I will drop off, and not hear the match.
Haircuts brings back memories. Mum gave Bill the eldest of us three boys at home MONEY FOR HAIRCUTS. We decided we could do each others and spend the money on Ice cream. Would you believe we made such a mess of our hairs, that we had to wear Balaclava's in JULY.!!!!
Going for 40 winks now, see you later.

Hi everyone,
Ann, our paths didn't cross in Nuneaton, it was 11.15pm when we parked in the disabled by in Bond Gate.
Going back to the waste paper theme, I opened our porch door this morning to find an Ikea catalogue sticking through our letterbox!!! We do go to Coventry Ikea occasionally but wouldn't check out their catalogue as we seldom buy anything in there. We usually go for a meal in the 6th floor cafeteria and our free teas and coffees.
Not going anywhere today, the overnight rain stopped followed by some heavy showers, now the sun seems to have set in for the day and we are both staying in after a disturbed night.
Carmel had a letter from the George Eliot this morning moving her appointment with the maxilofacial consultant to October 5th after they promised faithfully on the phone that she would definitely be seen on September 21st. Luckily, her GP has prescribed one of the medications that helps her tongue condition. TTFN

Mel are you on a Water Meter?.That will be whizzing if you are LOL How much longer do you think it will take now before the pond is full
Oh Gill I hadn't realised that Michelle had just decided to go like that .That must have been so hard for you to get your head around that.It is nice though that she and you can have a good old chat on line.I suppose as long as she is happy where she is and with this boyfriend that is the best you can hope for right now.
Well I have soaked and exfoliated my feet !!!!!.Boy did that need doing :-S Now all varnished and drying :-D
We had a bit of an unpleasant surprise about an hour ago.I could see Thomas trying to get under one of the big units. His tail was twitching.Chris dragged out a little ball and some fluff,.We thought it was the ball he was after..............but NO it was a flipping mouse !!! I shot out behind Chris who was on his knees and it ran into the study with Thomas hot on it's tail.He caught it and I managed to chase him outside with it and shut the door. I think Thomas is just making the most of things now before he goes off in the morning to the cattery !!!!!!

Sounds like he is in for a surprise then Jane. He will wonder where his big garden has gone and think he has gone to jail.
We are on a meter for our water and it is just about full now. Oh has the decking back on the long length that butts up to the decking and the patio. He has just gone off into his study with a nice glass of cold cider.
