I'm pleased the funeral went well and "you know who" didn't turn up Ann, I know how concerned you and Gordon were about that. Glad to hear it didn't rain as well <3 It'll do you good to have a lay in, in the morning, you've both been through so much lately. It'll be nice to be able to relax for a while before tackling the cleaning and like you said you can go at your own pace. It's good to hear FIL is ok at the home, does he still spend time with his friend Jack? So both you and I have learnt something new today......that apples can be frozen raw <3 It does speed things up a lot.
I'm glad the doctor has managed to give you some advice Mel and now you can wash your hands with E45 cream, that should help as it'll put some of the moisture back that you are washing out each time you wash your hands.
I'm getting tired now, so I might have another early night. I've got another busy day tomorrow with more apples to freeze and I also want to wallpaper the small room walls. So I'll say goodnight and see you all tomorrow Night Night <3

I am pleased it all went off well Ann and that the ex did'nt turn up. You must have been so relieved. Good too that nobody looked at the flowers she sent. Nice toknow FIL is still happy and enjoying his life in the home. Has he still his friend as Gill asked? I know sometimes they move people to other places.
Dinner was lovely and we had the rest of the apple and blackberry crumble with some clotted cream for dessert, naughty but nice.
I have a cider press that mum bought me. It is a lot of work but well worth it for the cider. I hav'nt done any for years now but we had three huge plastic vat things that we made it in plus an amount of demijhons in fact I think there is still three up in the potting sheds with cider still in them unless oh has thrown it out. We also have a plastic barrel with atap on it to store it in. That was from when my son had a thing about making beer.
Iff you doo manage to press some apple the juice is lovely too with a bit of sugar added. You can hire presses at wine making shops.
Signing out now so see you all in the morning.
O I meant to say I had been out to watch a hog a little earlier and the sky was so clear and as I was looking up I saw a comet. It glowed red and yellow with a sparkly tail and it went from west to east straight sown the back garden from over the bungalow.

Morning all
How nice to see the comet Mel. I remember watching the meteor shower the other week, the sky flashed blue, we were lucky we had a clear night to watch it, although it got a bit chilly so we ended up watching some of it through the kitchen window.
I don't think I'll be making cider, OH and Sandra don't like it and there would be to much for just me. My mum said she could take some of the apples and sell them at church, they have stalls which raise money for the church roof and things like that so they'll go to a good cause. I've still got a bit of room in my freezer so I'll keep going until it's full and store some in the garage then mum can have the rest. She goes to a lunch club and they also have a little stall to sell items, then they use the money towards day trips and she also said they would use some of the apples to make the puddings they eat too. I'm glad none of them will go to waste.
I've been awake since 6am and up since 7am. I'm going to wallpaper the small room and finish off the filler. Now OH has painted the ceiling I can see where I missed a few places. Once the filler and wallpaper have dried OH can finish the room tomorrow, we can then put all the furniture in the correct rooms over the weekend before OH goes back to work on Tuesday......Well, that's the plan for the rest of the week anyway. My shoulder is still a bit sore so I hope I can do my jobs then OH can finish off his ;-)
I've just seen another squirrel in the garden so I have put some nuts half way down the garden incase he wants some. He noticed me walking down and ran off but I'm sure he'll be back at some point. I've not seen Rosie for a few days, I hope this new squirrel hasn't frightened her off :-(
Going to get my morning cuppa now BBL <3

Morning all my lovelies, and afternoon Kim,
What a to do last night. The Bake off was just starting when we heard at CAT screaming under the sofa. I jumped up from my chair and pulled the sofa out NOTHING. We both searched the lounge and still nothing. Ros said it's got to be here somewhere. !!!! She then skyped Conrad 9.30 pm. He said why haven't you answered your mobile phone, She said it hadn't rung. SO HE RUNG IT AGAIN. IT WAS THE BLOODY CATS SCREAM. Unbeknown to us he had made it the ring tone on her PHONE. We laughed so much we almost weed ourselves. No body rings her on her mobile.
We certainly got the RAIN last night. It went on from when we got home from B & # well into the evening. This morning is bright blue sky's and sunshine.
Dose anyone know where I can get some apples ???? By the sound of things Gill must have an orchard full :-D :-D :-D Have you finished yet ???
Pleased that everything went well yesterday Ann, and that it stayed dry. You always remember a wet funeral. Also the "YOU KNOW WHO" stayed away.
I see Mel got all her shopping done in the dry also.
What a Saga over Lewis's trainers. I ordered size 8 1/2. When they arrived they were 9 1/2. So I packed them up and sent them back. I then received a full refund. I spoke with H.O. this morning and they said they were the correct size UK 8 1/2 is American 9 1/2. So they had sent the right ones. Now they are out of stock. The only size left are 6 1/2. So he will have to order them himself when they are in stock. I will put the money in his card. HOW THICK AM I ???? Don't answer that !!!!
Was in bed by 10 15 pm last night as I can't read I put the radio on for an hour. I tried to clean my glass's this morning and have bent the bridge between the two lens's, so now they are completely BUGGER##. I am walking around like a blind mad. !!!
Shower time, then get these bales of bark out of the car. No mean fete !!!

It's gone dull here now so we might get some rain later. OH has just cut the grass and some of the blackberry bush that was overhanging the front hedge, he's now watering the pot plants incase the rain doesn't come.
I wondered if we had a newby on here Fiona with you changing your picture. What sort of birthday ring are you getting? So being 60 isn't to bad after all, what with bus passes and discount cards LOL I don't think I'll get those until I'm 70 I think the government have changed the retirement age, by 10 years for women and 5 years for men if you were born after a certain year. I guess OH and I were born to late and now have to wait :-(
I still haven't done the wallpapering yet, only made the wallpaper paste as I decided to finish the filler on the ceiling first with that being a bigger job. I thought it would be better to get that out of the way first then when I start getting tired later I'll only have the easier job to do. My shoulder seems to be holding up and not as painful as yesterday so that's good.
Hope you haven't spoken to soon Mel and you don't get the rain. I didn't get the pic off Jane, can you forward it to me please. Thanks.
I've just noticed online that there has been a massive earthquake in Northern Chile last night and there could be a Tsunami to follow. The authorities have issued a Tsunami warning for the Andean nation's entire Pacific Coast. The earthquake was 8.5 magnitude, killing 5 people and was felt as far as South America.
If there is a Tsunami it'll be heading for Hawaii. If it hits Hawaii it will hit around 3am Thursday night, Hawaii time. There was a small Tsunami which caused flooding in Chile, hope it doesn't turn into a massive one. Some of the people who live near the coast have taken their cars and gone to higher ground.....I don't blame them.

Just noticed your post Frank, What are you like, mind you, you wouldn't think of an American size would you? I would of made the same mistake as you. At least Lewis can order them when they are in stock so it's not to bad and you'll know for next time.
OH and I have just been laughing at Ros's ringtone. I'd love to have been there to see you both LOL :-D :-D :-D Does Conrad often play jokes on you? My OH is like that, always has been and we have some laughs at the things he does.
I'm not planning on doing anymore apples today as I have to much to do, so I'll get back to them tomorrow. I don't have much space left in my freezer so once it's full I'll be wrapping some of them up in newspaper and storing them in the garage for now, after giving some to my mum.
Going to have a cuppa now then get back to the filler and wallpapering. BBL

It sounds like you're all organised Pat, and almost ready for the move on Saturday. Hope it doesn't rain and you get the sunshine you want <3
I'm not going to wallpaper today now, I'm still doing the filler, although that will be finished in about an hour, but my neck and shoulder are sore and I don't want to end up in to much pain, so I'm doing the wallpapering tomorrow instead.
I haven't eaten all day, so as soon as the filler is finished I'm going to have a soak in the bath and make a spag bol, it's quick to make and filling.
OH saw one of his work mates earlier who has 3 horses and has other peoples horses in her stables, 12 horses in total and she has said she will have as many apples as we can spare so that's the problem of all the apples now out of the way. I'm keeping some for myself but there'll still be a heck of a lot over. So between mum and OH's work mate and us, everyone will be happy. I said to OH did you ask her if she had a trailer as she's going to need one with all the weight of the apples. He just laughed.
I'm having another break at the moment with a hot water bottle on my neck to try and ease the pain a bit, then I'll get back to finishing off the filler. Most of the ceiling needed doing and poor OH said I'd ruined his painting.....He was only joking, he knew it would need a lot of filler, so doesn't mind doing another couple of coats once it's dry. Hopefully the ceiling will be finished then <3
It's very quiet on here this afternoon, where is everyone?

The minuet I put my washing on the line this morning it started raining so in it came. we have had heavy showers ever since and some of it was like stair rods. So no work on the shed today. He only did a bit this morning but we did get some waterproof tape stuff under the back of the shed between us. I can't see that is is going todo much good though!!
Frank what are you like, fancy bending the bridge on your glasses now, you silly billy. Could'nt the opticians have done something about them when you went for the eye test?
Gill you must be sick to death with the filler by now. Hope your neck feels better tonight and its all finished now.
Thats a lovely ring Fiona if it is your birthday ring. what a lucky girl you are.
Does anyone know how Kim's house got damaged?

. Massive hail storm here at Bateau Bay. Looks like snow has been falling. House damage and leaking roofs, insulation saturated. Loungeroom ceiling looks like it could cave in, water coming through light fittings, buckets everywhere. Roads so dangerous, hope everyone else is safe. Stay put if you can. frown emoticon

Well, you did say you'd spoken to soon Mel, when you were talking about the weather this morning. Hope it brightens up tomorrow so your OH can get back to sorting the shed.
Yes, I was getting fed up of all the filling of the ceiling but now it's all finished....thank goodness. I've had my bath, but my neck and shoulder is still really sore. OH is going to cook dinner but is a bit nervous as he's never cooked gammon before......bless him. I'll keep an eye on him. I'm sure he'll be ok though :-)
I'm hoping if I rest up a bit tonight I'll be able to do the wallpapering tomorrow, then it'll be over to OH again to paint.
Sandra is looking forward to moving back into the room, she said the bigger room is a bit to cold for her and prefers the smaller room instead. So we'll have to move all the furniture in there over the weekend. I just hope I can manage to help OH do it.....It'll be nice to be straight again, with everything back where it belongs <3
