Snap Gill, I have got a Gammon Steak out for myself tonight. I'll have mine with Eggs and chips. Ros is having minted Lamb chops, Rice and vegetables she has prepared for herself.
Poor old Kim, I would think with her health that's the last thing she needs. <3 <3 <3 from me if you look in.
Looks like it's ALL GO NOW THEN pAT. dON'T FORGET TO LET US HAVE YOUR ADDRESS AND ANY OTHER CHANGES i.e.(husbands) lol Sorry about caps. !!! I do hope the weather holds out for the weekends move. !!!
So you have the rain again Mel, that means it will be travelling our way overnight
:-( :-( :-(
Ros is at the hairdressers in the morning then on to have her nails done. So it looks like I will be waking up beside a new woman on her Birthday on Saturday. :-D :-D
I hope the ROSES are not late coming. She will have to throw some flowers out, as she has FOUR vases full at the moment. Some are just going over.
I got the bark out of the car this morning. I tried putting two bales in the barrow at once and tipped it over onto my bad leg. So I wasn't a happy bunny. I have put three down the bottom of the garden and one at the top. As she needs it I will empty one into the barrow, which will make it easier to spread over the garden.
Going to get my tea/dinner now. Ros is eating hers.

All that hail Pat, it looked more like snow didn't it? An old school friend of mine lives in Australia and she says they have hail as big as golf balls and once her windscreen on her car was smashed in a hail storm. Hope it doesn't last to long for Kim.
Yes Frank Sandra and I had a fried egg with our gammon and chips. OH doesn't like gammon so he had sausages instead. It's the first time he has cooked gammon and it was delicious. I'm so glad he cooked tonight, I'm to sore to move, let alone cook. I just hope I'm feeling better tomorrow as I have another busy day planned.
I'm just watching Gardeners World I recorded the other day. I love Monty Don's dog, Nigel, he's lovely and gets quite a lot of camera time.....Maybe he should get his own agent LOL :-D

My eyes are so sore not wearing glass's. My right eye is focusing but my left keeps drifting away to double vision.
The way you are going Gill you will meet yourself coming back !!!! You will have to slow down a bit !!!
Lewis has found some trainers he likes and I let him use my Ebay account to buy them. I know he won't use it again without my permission. ON HIS HEAD IF HE DOES.
He started his College today. He can catch a bus from Toddington (where he lives) to Bedford. It takes an hours and costs £6.50 s day. To go by train it's over £10.00. Ros will have a word with his Dad about getting a season ticket.
There has been two hours of soaps again tonight. I will watch Journey through South America then go to bed for the radio. (can't think of the blokes name)
Ros is meeting up with Harvey and Lewis tomorrow evening for her birthday present, and I think a meal out. Julia won't be there as she is having teeth out tomorrow BY GAS, as she can't stand being awake. So she will stay home. I'm not invited of course, so I will go down the pub and watch the Rugby and have a pint or three'
See you tomorrow, good night all.

Evening All,
We got up late and have had plenty of sun again, but Frank is right.....Mel often sends sends her rain up here!! lol It must be awful not having your glasses Frank and now they are no use at all. I did have a chuckle at the mobile phone ring.......good job it wasn't a buzzing wasp noise or you'd have got the swatter out!! It's a nuisance you bashed your poor leg moving the bark with the wheelbarrow. We were looking at some the other day as our old one broke and we're thinking of getting one with 2 front wheels next time as they'd be less likely to tip over, especially when I use it. We must top up our bark chips too. They have really stopped a lot of weeds this year.
Well, poor Kim, her house sounds in quite a state and not the stress she needs with her health as Frank says. I doubt it's safe to stay in with the leaks and the electrics too. I hope their insurance people are better at paying out than ours.
It's nearly time to leave then Pat and you sound just about ready now. It was nice to get those gifts and I'm sure your daughter will appreciate the chocs! :-) Yes, please let us know your new address.
At last the ceiling is filled then Gill. Hooray as you say! I know how it makes you ache having done plenty in the past myself. Still you'll soon be straight again now and Sandra soon changed her mind about her room didn't she. Let's hope she doesn't change it again! I love Nigel too, he's such a good dog isn't he and snoozes whenever he can.
Mel, your OH will be wanting the shed done before winter sets in so I hope you get some fine days soon so he can get on with it. I read today theat they think we may get another bad winter like a few years ago this year. I didn't get Jane's photo either so could you send it to me as well please.
We were saying this morning how we seem to be writing letters about something to someone every day now. Letters about FIL being in the home, letters about Power of Attorney, letters about his and MIL's hospital stays, letters notifying MIL passing away. letters notifying new bank details for direct debits, now some want copies of the will and today letters to reinstate the attendance allowance for FIL and to Social Services. As OH said, how do really old people cope with it all? We got a nice surprise today though. OH can never be bothered to complain about anything (not like me!) but when FIL's bank sent correspondence to him with an envelope that hadn't even been sealed, he put a note saying how poor it was and that they weren't safeguarding his details. What should arrive today but a hamper with 2 bottles of wine, chocs, biscuits etc by way of an apology. :-D :-D I said to him how come you never complain yet as soon as you do you get this!! lol.

Morning all
It's been raining in the night by the looks of it, the sun is out now but there are a lot of clouds so I expect more rain today.
The hamper off the bank sounds nice Ann, but should your FIL's details have got in the wrong hands, which doesn't bare thinking about, it wouldn't of solved the problem would it? It was very irresponsible of the bank and could quite of easily turned out to be a nightmare. Maybe, though, if you ever have a complaint to make in the future, you could get your OH to do it for you. You never know what you might get next time ;-)
It does sound like you have an awful lot of letters to write. Could you write one standard letter on your computer and just keep printing off copies for everyone. It would save you an awful lot of time?
Yes, Sandra has decided she prefers her old bedroom instead of the one she has now Ann. I think it's because we live in an un-insulated property and the bigger room has 3 outside walls which makes the room slightly colder than the smaller room, which only has 1 outside wall. I don't mind which room she goes into as they are both going to be bedrooms anyway, so it doesn't matter either way as far as furniture goes. She will put all her own stuff in which ever room she wants, so I don't need to do that job. So long as she's happy, that's the main thing.
Almost there now Pat, hope everything goes smoothly with the move <3 I'll say good luck now, incase you're not online tomorrow. Hope the weather is kind to you.
That's good Frank, that Lewis found the trainers he wants, so it all ended well in the end. I bet you can't wait to get your new glasses? You need to be careful you don't end up with a headache trying to focus on things.
I was thinking, but don't know if it will work, you could put an elastic band around your glasses to hold them together. You could hook it over the lenses part. It wouldn't be ideal but might work for a few days until you get your new ones. Just a thought and it may stop your eyes from being so sore too ;-) <3
Yes, I'm meeting myself coming back Frank LOL, but we only have until Tuesday to finish everything as OH is back in work. Plus we want to watch the F1 at the weekend too, so we don't have much time left to complete the room.
My neck isn't to bad now, so I'm going to do the wallpapering today then it'll be dry enough for OH to paint tomorrow, along with the ceiling. It's not a big room so he should have it all done in a day, then we can relax and watch the race on Sunday. OH goes out on a Monday to see his mate and he's back in work on Tuesday, so I only have today to wallpaper the room, luckily there is only one wall to do so it shouldn't take me to long to do it.
OH and Sandra are still asleep so I'll grab a cuppa then make a start on the wallpapering, it should only take a few hours, then I can get back to peeling the apples again.
What is everyone else up to today?

Morning All,
Lovely sunshine at the moment and it's our anniversary today. We are off to see the film Everest a bit later after a quick bite to eat at Sain*burys, which is very close to the cinema. OH has gone to get his flu jab just now so I am picking some more runners after I've posted this.
Yes, I did do that with a lot of letters Gill, but now a lot have replied wanting to know different things and other documents sending!! There have been letters to do with FIL's funding, then a change when he became permanent and now another change since MIL passed away!! Every change and the hospital admissions all affect things like their pensions and pension credit as well as Attendance Allowance and council tax so more letters have been needed than would usually be the case. There's floods of letters we keep getting from different charities that we are having to return. The trouble is they have been persuaded to donate to quite a few so they keep sending requests now and I suspect their details have been passed on to others as well. Now we also need to send lots of thank you letters to different people. OH has started his meetings again last night so he will be doing follow up and notes from that later today.
We've decided to start on clearing their house on Monday, so I've got rubber gloves, boxes and black sacks at the ready! I think we'll pace ourselves with a few hours each day and see how it goes as we aren't fit youngsters any more! The estate agent said the same as us that it will appeal to first time buyers who will gut it and start again.
I'm glad your aches have eased a bit and good luck with the wallpapering. What colours are the wallpaper and is it a feature wall you are papering? It's good to keep Sandra happy with her room and she will enjoy moving her stuff back.
I wonder how poor Kim in Australia is now and hope Jane is getting some sunshine at last.
Good luck with your move Pat in case we don't hear from you before you go. We have slept on our mattress on the lounge floor when our wardrobes were fitted and it was quite comfy, just a struggle getting up from that low down!! <3 <3

Morning you lot and evening Kim,
I hope Kim gets some compensation for the damage to her house.
Thanks for the pm Ann.
Today was suppose to be sunny and nice so oh got all clued up to working today on the shed. O no it is pouring with rain and the road down to the bungalow is running like a river. The new liner in the pond is about to overflow onto the back garden grass and everything is wet wet wet. So with all that I am now sending it up to you lot so watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck with the move Pat and I hope every thing goes off ok and don't forget to send us all your address.
You be careful doing that wallpapering today Gill and once it is done you can have a nice rest and lay back and look at all the good work you have both done over your oh's holiday and before. You said oh was going to paint over the wallpaper did'nt you? Is it an aniglipter?
Well I missed the library again last week. I was convinced it was coming on the 16th and told oh to remind me. He put one of my talking books right in front of me on my desk. I happened to look at the date stamp on the back and it said 10th Sept. I was so cross and just can't get my head around this once a month thing. It's a long while to wait for new books if you have listened to the ones you have. It was so bad when it was every fortnight but with the cuts they are making it is now every four weeks.
When I came out into the kitchen this morning and was looking at the river flowing down the drain I looked up and there on the roof of my car was the sparrow hawk looking for its breakfast. No wonder there were no birds about. It then flew onto the metal bird feeder and was looking around for something to attack so after I had taken a couple of pics I opened the window to frighten it away.
I do miss Jane posts...................and hope she is having a great time.
Alos sending lots of love and wishes to Kim xxx

Morning all, Evening Kim,
If you are still at home Kim, we are all thinking of you.!!! How much damage has been done and when are you likely to get the builders in to do the repairs??? I bet everyone in your area will be looking for repair men at the moment.
Ann I bet you are pleased that it's all over now <3 <3 Now's the time to try to relax and get yourself together, before the hard work begins clearing the house. Will you redecorate or just put it on the market as it is. ??? The thing is most people will want it "THEIR WAY" so not much point spending time and money on it. I hope these charities leave you alone now that you have returned their begging letters.
That is the FIRST TIME I have known a bank to give out a gift for an error on their part. Most of the mail sent out is automatically sealed by a machine. Yours must have slipped through the net. The days are long gone when you use to tuck the flap of an envelope inside itself.
Conrad said they are getting a lot of rain in SPAIN (Mainly on the plane} lol lol(SORRY) Jane will be home the middle of next week won't she ??? Yes, I hope the weather has improved for them. I didn't receive her photo either. But out of sight out of mind. :-D :-D
Our little Hog has managed to get up the steps from the patio. He must have scared himself to death, because he has left a steam of slimy poo over the top step. Dirty little Begger.
I enquired about FLU jabs last week, but our Doctors haven't got them in yet. It's that time of year again isn't it. Where has the year gone.
How's the weather for you this morning Mel ?? Will OH be able to get on with his shed ?? At the moment we have sun and clear sky's, but we are expecting bad weather this afternoon. I asked Ros this morning "Have you got your PLASTIC RAIN HAT" you can guess the answer I got :-D :-D :-D
I am out tonight. Harvey and family are coming here about 7.30 pm to see Ros and I think to take her out for a meal. She van ring me when they go home. !!!!

Morning Ann
I see what you mean now with all the extra letters you need to do. That's the problem when changes happen isn't it? Have you finished all FIL's letters now?
I put Anaglypta paper on the wall when we first moved in and I still have a few rolls of it left so I'm keeping to the same paper. It's easy to put up, hides a lot of lumps and bumps in the walls so we don't have to have it re-plastered and it can be painted. We only took it down because we thought the ceiling was going to be plastered and thought we'd get the walls done at the same time. Luckily we had only taken the paper off one wall as I only have enough paper left over to do that much, so once it's done OH can just paint all the walls and the ceiling in white emulsion, gloss the wood, then it's done.
By the way how did you get on with the gloss paint I mentioned to you? Did you find it ok, or have you not had time to start it yet? Didn't you say you were going to paint your bedroom? That's the paint OH will be using for the skirting boards, doorframes etc...
I've only got one piece of paper up at the moment as OH woke up just as I was putting the pasting table up in the hall, so I had to wait until he'd used the bathroom and was out of the way. I made him a cup of tea and then we noticed two young squirrels in the garden eating some nuts I'd put down yesterday and before I knew it over an hour had passed, so I'm a bit behind now.
OH helped me with the first piece of paper, as I like it to be straight and it can be a bit tricky, he's now in his garage sorted out a planter we have and Sandra is watching her programmes in the other room, so I can get back to it without being in anyone's way. I'll just finish my cuppa then hopefully the papering will be finished in a few hours, so I can get back to finishing off the apples.
Good luck with sorting out the house, I think it's best to take your time, it sounds like it's going to be a big job.
Well I'd better go or I won't get all my jobs finished. The room has to be wallpapered today or OH won't have time to do his painting before he's back in work. BBL

Heavens Frank, that takes me back!! I'm not sure that Spain has any Plains anymore, with all the new buildings that have shot up over the last 50 odd years since that musical was first performed!!! What a pity that you are still not back on an even keel with Harvey. Is there no way that you could patch things up? Being at loggerheads isn't good and can be the source of great regret later on when it's too late. I do appreciate that it's not easy though. Still lovely sun here, although there are lots of clouds!! Must check that washing! OH has just come back from the village shop with, among other things, a nice pork pie for our lunch! Cas is playing with her ring, and she keeps putting it on her head!! Will take a pic if I can!!!!!

Just checked my emails Mel, and the one you sent from Jane had no picture, just your message and what she wrote :-( Sorry to hear you missed the library again, so you'll have to wait another three weeks then. That must be annoying? So rain has stop play on the shed again Mel? It does sound as if you've had a right downpour if there is a river down the road. Hope it clears soon so your OH can get on with things.
The hamper looked nice Ann :-D If ever I have any problems in the future your OH can definitely do the complain letter for me.....I'd love a hamper like that LOL.
I've just stopped for a sandwich, I didn't eat very well yesterday with being so busy so I was really hungry. I've done half the wall already so it shouldn't be to long before it's finished.
We had a bit of rain earlier but it's gone nice now.....hope Mel's rain doesn't come up this far, I can still remember all the rain we got the other week and don't fancy that again. Hope your rain drains away soon for your Mel.
Did you see my thoughts on how to fix your glasses Frank? Hope it works if you try it.
I ended up washing my kitchen floor the other day Liz after OH stopped the washing machine, thinking it was finished and Sandra opened the door.......the water went everywhere. I said to OH and Sandra, if you wanted me to mop the floor you only had to say, NOT FLOOD THE KITCHEN lol.
Well, back to the wallpapering now BBL :-D :-D

Happy Anniversary Ann and Gordon. I forgot to mention it earlier. Good morning to Liz and Mel. Sorry Afternoon. Where's the morning gone.
I have a pesky little fly in doors, keeps buzzing me, so I have sprayed Fly Killer everywhere. That will get the little "B"
Mel, I guess we will get your weather later, as promised by the forecast.. At the moment we are enjoying a nice spell of sunshine. Conservatory door open and it's nice and warm.
I have moulded a "MUFFLER" ear plug around the bridge part of my glass's, but being twisted I am still out of focus. So I think I will give it up as a bad job. It's making my eyes ache.!!!
Could someone send me Jane's pic please.
I've decided to have a curry tonight at the pub. That will save me cooking. Everybody says how good they are. "So the proof is in the pubbing" It's also the opening of the RUGY World Cup. So I expect it will be busy
See you later.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ANN AND GORDON <3 <3 <3
Meant to say this earlier....Sorry. Is it a special one?...I know they're all special, but you know what I mean LOL.
I guess the rain has stopped then Mel? Enjoy yourself in Cornwall. Did you see my message letting you know the pic didn't show in the email you sent me from Jane....Could you send it again please? Thanks.
So you've given up on your glasses then Frank? Maybe that's for the best, it's not long to Monday now is it? Let's hope they're ready for you.
I've had a sore ankle since I got up this morning, probably from going up and down the ladder yesterday, so I have to keep stopping the papering to rest it. I'm almost finished now anyway, so it'll definitely get done today as I planned ;-)
Might as well have another cuppa while I'm having a rest........any excuse :-D
