Hi Jane, nice to hear from you and glad the weather has brightened up. Hope you enjoyed your tour today. It sounds lovely relaxing with a glass of wine...that's what holidays are all about aren't they? Enjoy your trip to the town tomorrow, hope the weather stays nice for you <3
Thanks for the pic of Cass Liz, she looks likes she's enjoying herself and isn't she getting big now?
Mum called round so I'm still doing the papering. I've just got a few small bits to do in the corners and then one awkward bit around the window which OH is going to help me with, so it shouldn't be long before it's all finished.
Getting a cuppa first See you all later x

After all that we've had a really busy day!! I suddenly decided to liquidise and freeze a load of tomatoes, as we have had so many this year and are a bit over done!! OH took Cas for a long walk so.they're both exhausted! I also weeded(!!) The veg cage, cleared away the Cornflowers from the flower border, and wheeled it all down to the bonfire at the bottom end of Merlins field ready to fire up at a later date. We are sitting outside with a G&T each, relaxing before we get supper. Don't forget Ripper Street Mel!!!

Back from Cornwall and had a nice cuppa. Bought loads but not plants. I have bought oh's birthday present but they have to order it. A lovely warm fleece for the winter for me in a rose pink. I look like a teddy bear in it as it is so fluffy.
http://www.hawkshead.com/heze-fleece-deco-rose.html
you can look at it there. It has a smashing collar which buttons up or you can wear it down and it looks nice with the new polo neck I bought the other day in a soft pink and I also bought a cherry red one which will also go. Wish they had had a mauve one but the only other colour they had was cream and thats not a very good colour for me with all the dirty things I have to do round here. They do do it in black though but thats online.
I bought a nice birthday card and two Christmas hex shape boxes, one for Di to put all her little pressy's in and one for me to put my Christmas bits in you knw gift labels tape and ribbons etc. and some small cable ties which I think oh will need when he put the fence back round the pond for the netting to stop the herons.

Just lost a post by back spacing !!!
I was saying with all this tea Gill you will be running to the loo all evening. I known I would :-D :-D
So trouble has shown her face then, how the devil are you my sweet ??? Glad the weather is showing signs of improving, they say "THE SUN SHINES ON THE RIGHTOUS" What's gone wrong then. ;-) ;-) Is Chris enjoying his self and did you meet up with Fitz alright ??
I haven't looked at my mail yet Liz, but I can just imagine Cassie with the ring. I will look when I finish posting. I can't be bothered trying with Harvey. He took the stance against me. So I am standing my ground now !!!!
Why do you have to go to Cornwall to get your paint Mel, haven't you got a DIY place near you ??
I'm all showered and shaved ready to go out about 6.30/ 7.00 pm. I'm looking forward to something to eat, that I haven't had to cook :-D :-D I suppose it will be busy down there with the Rugby tonight.
Our neighbour has invited us in for a coffee at about 11.00 am in the morning (Pam and Dennis) the newish neighbour. She popped round earlier. The cards are starting to gather on the mantle piece and a couple of box's have arrived in the post. I must get the painting off Tony before tomorrow also, I would have thought he would have bought it round. It's all paid for !!!
I will see you all in the morning, as I will just roll into bed when I get in tonight. Have a nice evening.

Evening All,
Thanks for all your good wishes. It's actually our 12th wedding anniversary this time Mel. We moved in together 15 years ago and became a couple 25 years ago. :-)
<3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHELSEA <3 <3. My how time flies! What did she have for her birthday Mandy, I've lost touch with what presents children want these days. Did you bake a birthday cake? I hope it stays dry for you to clear behind the shed tomorrow. It will discourage any rats too won't it, but it seems you've seen that one off now that came before.
Gill there's been too much happening for me to want to start the bedroom yet and we want to clear MIL's house first so we can get it on the market to be sold. It's a liability while it's sitting empty and could be broken into or have pipes freeze as winter starts. The sooner it's gone the better now. No, we won't be decorating Frank. It's so old fashioned and has got quite shabby the last few years and needs stripping out and starting again. If we decorated I think it would put people off as they would think we were trying to cover things up like any damp etc which we know it doesn't have. I know I would have thought things like that when we looked to buy a house to do up years ago. If it didn't need walls knocking through, new windows, doors, possibly an extension and new kitchen/bathroom it might have been worth freshening it up in some neutral colours. There are holes everywhere now where all the handrails and stairlift were fixed. We aren't the spring chickens we used to be for doing it either!! lol :-) I hope you enjoy your meal tonight and remember not to have something that will give you INDIGESTION!!
I love your fleece Mel, it will be lovely and cosy and keep your neck nicely warm too. Where in Cornwall did you go today? It sounds like you have had horrid weather earlier. Please don't send it here!!!!
You're nearly done now then Gill. I'd have a bit of a rest after your hubby goes back to work......you have done so much this summer.
I see Liz has been busy too. I did manage to pick a load of runners and freeze some more tomatoes, but I need to do some more trimming of things in the garden to tidy it up for winter.
The film Everest we saw was quite good, but it was chilly in there.....especially when you are watching snow blizzards and people covered in snow and frost!! lol. Oh and eating peanut butter icecream too.

She had some nice things Mandy and will be keen to be using her bicycle.. I remember enjoying a spirograph too, but I hadn't heard of girl's lego before. Things do cost a lot don't they. Yes that's a good tip about the loft! They had to clear it out a few years ago when they had loft insulation, but may well have popped some things back in there.
OH has gone to bed so I think I shall too now. I didn't sleep well again last night so should do tonight I hope.
Night, night...........

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHELSEA <3
It sounds like she did well with her presents Mandy. I had a Spirograph as a child too and loved it. Don't know what happened to mine though.
I didn't think you had used the paint yet Ann with everything that's gone on lately.
Your fleece looks lovely Mel, it'll keep you nice and warm. I like the colour.
I've finished the wallpapering and OH has finished the gloss painting. He'll do the emulsioning tomorrow then the room will finally be finished. Sandra will then be able to move back in on Sunday after we've moved the furniture back in there.
I'm off to bed now as I'm shattered See you all tomorrow Night Night <3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ROS <3 <3
Hope she has a lovely day. It sounds like you have spoilt her Frank. What is the painting of, you got off Tony for her? Enjoy your coffee morning with your new neighbours.
GOOD LUCK WITH THE MOVE TODAY PAT <3 Hope the weather is kind to you.
OH has just nipped out for some more paint, he's hoping to have the room finished today, then Sandra can move back in tomorrow. He's painting the room in white emulsion Mel, we thought if we're going to put the property back on the market then a neutral colour would be best.
Yes, it was Sandra's bedroom to start with, she said she wanted a bigger room which is why she moved to the front bedroom, but now she says she wants to move back because it's warmer in her old room. I don't mind either way which room she has, so long as she's happy.
I'm having a relaxing day today as OH will want me to help him move the furniture back into the small room tomorrow and I'm really achy with all the papering I did yesterday. Plus I've got hardly any space left on the planner so I really need to watch some programmes to make space for the other programmes I want to record tonight......It's a hard life sitting around watching TV, but someone's got to do it LOL
See you all later ;-)

Morning all and evening Kim,
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Happy birthday Ros <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Enjoy your special day and make him in doors spoil you rotton as I know he does.
It's dry here today with a little sun now and then so can't complain. To tell the truth I hav'nt been up long as oh let me lie in till ten and then woke me up.
Must clean the chickens out today as I did the bantams the day before and thier run yesterday when I got home from Cornwall.
Frank it is nearer for us to go to Cornwall than it is to go to Barnstaple and they are the two places that had the colour paint we wanted to match my shed.

Misty morning here, but the sun should break through later. Sooner you than me Gill, I couldn't watch TV that much!! What on earth do you find worth viewing?! I find that too much of it does my head in! so apart from the news at lunchtime, we hardly ever have it on during the day. We're off to Westonbirt later on today. The trees are changing and they look fantastic, also there is a nice shop which is expensive, but full of some lovely things.

I record all sorts Liz. So far I've watched a programme called Titchmarsh on Capability Brown, it's all about Alan helping to create Capability Brown's lost masterpiece at Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire. He is also visiting Longleat and Wotton next week. Apparently there was a plan for the grounds of Belvoir Castle but Capability Brown never saw it through, so Alan Titchmarsh is hoping to create it instead, using Brown's plans. I didn't realise that Brown put bridges in between two long lakes to make it look like a river was flowing under the bridge, very clever. So that's something new I've learnt today LOL
I've also recorded some films that Sandra asked me to do, so I'm watching them with her. These programmes take up quite a bit of space on the planner, so there's not much room to record much, which is why I need to watch a few of them to clear some space.
I've also recorded Doctor Foster and have 2 of those still to watch and of course my gardening programmes like Gardeners World, so plenty to keep me occupied today. It's not very often I get to sit and watch TV, so it makes a nice change.
The F1 is on later which I might have to record for OH as he's still painting the small room, so I need to make some space for that. I don't think I could watch TV all day every day, but it's quite relaxing every now and then :-D

Afternoon All,
More sunshine here and it was quite warm outside when we went out for brekkie and a read of the papers. The newly built carvery restaurant down the road does breakfast now and you get a breakfast of egg, sausage, 2 bacon, black pudding, beans, toms, mushrooms, 2 hash browns and a slice of toast for £3.95 each. You can swap items too so I don't have to have sausage! I'll only need a snack at teatime now.
We popped to look at a show house on one of the new developments near here on the way back, but weren't very impressed. It was a big 4 bed house, but they were packed in very close to each other and 5 other houses could see into your windows and garden and the roads were too narrow for visitors to park outside.
<3 <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ROS <3 <3. Yes you never told me what the painting is of Frank???
Liz what a perfect day for Westonbirt! I bet the Maples will look beautiful. I have been a couple of times and enjoyed it there although there's a lot of walking to do.
Sk* has so many channels I can usually find something of interest to watch or record and I usually record anything with adverts in and watch it later so I can speed through them, which means our 2 planners are used a lot and both get full like yours Gill!! I am recording the Alan Titchmarsh progs too! I like some historical things, gardening, nature programmes and some of the films which do take a lot of room up like you say. There must be lots to keep your Sandra happy too which is good. In fact I need to watch all the programmes on the one in the bedroom as I think we need a new box in there and when they swap it my recorded programmes will be gone!
I actually prefer to see the news on teletext or read it in the newspaper. Some of those presenters get on my nerves. It's either the women adjusting themselves to get their best side to the camera or the men dwelling too long on their favourite sports! I do love Carol who does the weather news though.
On the subject of programmes has anyone been watching George Clarke's Amazing Spaces series? In one episode the programme presenter had a long narrow strip of garden the width of the front his old garage. They completely filled the narrow strip up to the garage. They put a shed up with cupboards along the side that had a place for everything for his children to do crafts and play, pencils, crayons etc, all tidy in containers fixed to the sides. There were storage boxes on wheels to use as seats and even a table tennis set that folded away. The clear flat roof could be slid open to let heat out and fresh air in and the other side of the shed could be slid aside to reveal a huge painting of a view of a beach on the fence outside! The end of the shed opened into a small polytunnel the same width and that filled the gap between the shed and garage. That was filled with plants and lovely exotic butterflies. Then you walked into the old garage that had been made into a home cinema, but not only that, you could project the night sky and star constellations on the ceiling! What a wonderful way to learn.......I want one of those projectors!!! :-) :-)
The shower curtain's just been through the washer so I'd better hang it up and put another load in. Then I'm popping out for a while. OH has gone to a match with his pal. He's been doing thankyou letters to various people this morning and we decided to get some gift vouchers for the neighbours that helped MIL and FIL so much the past few years.
