Frank Report 26 Sep 2015 10:36

Morning all, Evening Kim,

You know what's coming I had a big F & C last night. The queue was about 30 deep. being Friday night. Anyway, Ros had a pineapple fritter and a few of my chips, and I cleared mine. About an hour later indigestion started, and stayed with me till 11.30 pm when I went to bed. I laid there burping with heart burn, even after my
Gavist## I got up at 1,30 am and watch FOYLES WAR until 3.15. I finally settled down at 5.00 am. Only to be woken by JJ jumping all over the bed at 8.30. little darling :-D :-D :-D

I have had my shower, and feel like death warmed up. Ros has gone to meet Martine for the odds and ends. and a new security bulb for the back light.

Ros had a very enjoyable afternoon out with the girls. Excellent HIGH TEA with the full works. !!! The girls then wanted Ros to take them around the village. Where she was born and lived before we moved to Blisworth. They then went to "BARKERS" shoe factory to see if there were any shoes they liked. I don't know if anyone bought. She left here 12.30 and got back after 6.00.

Great morning for you girls to get your washing done, dried and IRONED !!!

JJ is in the back garden weeing on every bush he passes and having a bark at any noise. I think we will be out tomorrow when JO comes to pick him up ;-) ;-) ;-)

Well Pat t's all go now, chasing builders, picking furnishings etc. Good luck with everything <3 <3

Frank I told you before ask your doc if you can have Omeprazole. Oh used to have awful indigestion and his doc prescribed these and he has never looked back. You take one a day. One thing that makes oh feel achy is fish batter and if we have F & C he always has a lie down afterwards because he says the batter makes his joints ache?? Don't know if it does or thats just an excuse.

Don't forget ask the doc if you can have OMEPRAZOLE. I have them too but only take them when I take ibruprofen.

Afternoon All

It is like being back in Italy today :-D.The sun is shining and I have my clean holiday clothes back on LOL
Mel I haven't got the machine on although the wash basket is still full.I just cant face any more washing today. There are 3 baskets full of clean and dry clothes waiting to be sorted. The rest can wait another day.
I have been and done a BIG shop. There is now food in the fridge again :-D.I had to chuck so much fresh stuff out as James hadn't eaten it and it was all out of date.

Frank I bet you had BATTER on your fish !!!!!!.I thought you weren't going to have that again ;-)..Just can't resist it can you lol..I bet it tasted good though :-D

Oh dear you are going to miss little JJ arent you.He does sound so cute.
We had a 3rd bed partner last night.Thomas slept in the middle of us around knee level. He didn't wake me until 10 to 6 so that was pretty good.He has already had 2 mice to eat. Those are just the 2 we have seen .
Hannah has gone to Stamford with her friend Hannah and James has gone somewhere(don't know where).

Liz it sounds like young Cass will be the perfect working dog :-D.Is it just the training now to retrieve with out biting or eating the game?.My friends 2 working Cockers do a great job.

Pat that is great the sale is through and cash in the bank now.So just 10 days before you are in :-D :-D..It has been very quick from when the build started and the house went on the market.
Gill I hope your new estate agent is the biz and really pushes your house. It would be great to have a quick sale now after all your hard work in redecorating. So I see it is Devon that you fancy again :-D..Good choice ,not that I am biased of course having grown up there....It does rain a lot though :-S..You mentioned Cockington back along.I remember going there with Chris and the children when they were young and having a ride in a Horse and carriage.

LOL Ann I did see your post about the number of clocks in the house !!!!!! and the Bl**dy Cheek comment from your OH when he discovered his beloved little cars .
Has he has them out of their boxes now 'BRUMMING' them all around your floors? :-D :-D I wonder why when he asked about them that his parents didn't say they still had them :-S

As the sun is shining I have decided now to put another lot of washing in.....Mel that is your fault ;-)

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Sep 2015 15:39

It's always my fault!!!! I shall have to put some more in now too.

I have just had a letter on the doorstep and could'nt think who it would have been from but to my surprize on opening it it was from my dentist thanking me for the things I gave her for the baby. It was written on a card with a picture of the baby and her birth date on it and it was the day before my sons birthday all those years ago so I should'nt forget that should I?

Clare has gone away for the weekend for her birthday treat.

we walked the dogs along the beach this afternoon It has been very warm and sunny the kids didn't want to come to busy with their handgames Molly is 13 so is able to look after the boys..so we decided to have a glass of wine in the pub on the seafront on the way back Then I had to cook dinner lol

Got the email Liz and have replied. Thank you for sending it.

Thanks for the pics Jane, I love the one of the lake with the little bird, it would make a lovely framed picture if it could be enlarged wouldn't it?

Snap, Mandy, Sandra and I have been in the garden all day, we are shattered now so I think I'll be having an early night. Sandra is watching her programme in the other room so once that's finished I think she'll probably get an early night too.

The front garden is now finished and Sandra and I will sort out the back garden tomorrow, then OH can cut both lawns on Monday when he's off work, ready for the Estate Agent to take the photo's on Tuesday. Thank goodness the weather is good I wouldn't of wanted to tidy the garden up in the rain. Hope it's nice on Tuesday for the photo's.

Just going to watch the F1 that I recorded earlier with OH as he's not long got in from work, then it's off to bed for me.

See you all in the morning
Night Night

Morning all

Another lovely sunny day here today. Sandra and I are gong to sort out all the pot plants in the back garden today and tidy up everywhere. It doesn't look like there's much weeding......hope I have spoke to soon LOL

3 grandchildren and 5 dogs Pat, that'll keep you on your toes for the weekend ;-)
Sounds like everything is starting to come together now, not long to go and you'll be able to move in. Happy birthday to Claire, hope she has a nice weekend break.

Off to get a cuppa now then make a start on the back garden, hope it doesn't take all day like the front garden did. OH has got so much garden rubbish to take to the tip on Monday, so I don't want to give him to much more.

See you all later <3

Hi this is Harry doesany one remember the Kingfling drink came in a large bottle similar to the coke bottle but it had nodduals on the outside, I think it was a pint and cost 3d. When I was at school in the East End on London we used our dinner money of 1 shilling to buy a small loaf, a portion of chips and a bottle of Kingfling. We'd rip the center out of the bread and fill it with chips, oh my those were the days, but not always the good ol days.
Regards harry :-D

Morning all and evening Kim,

Beautiful day here too and oh has just come back from feeding the dogs and exerciseing them. That words dos'nt look right!!!!!!

Wrote this about half an hour ago and did'nt post it because oh has been talking the hind legs off a donkey ever since he came in!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Sep 2015 10:40

Hi Harry,

I hav'nt heard of Kingfling drink. Was it various flavours or just the one flavour. I have heard of people pulling the middle out of a oaf and stuffing it with chips before though. Any more memories to tell us please?

My grandad would tell me all the things he got up to as a young boy with his mates, knockdown ginger and how he would tie cotton to the door knockers on opposit sides of the street. You have to remember that there were'nt the cars on the roads in those days and some streets were very narrow.

Afternoon all,

Another lovely sunny day here again ,hubby's still busy painting the shed i had to nip out and get another tin of paint for him from Hom*base ,he's now on the second coat ,he picked the right weekend for doing it with the nice dry days .
I've been filling some pots with compost ready to put some bulbs in when i buy them ,i did get a packet of Tulpen Tarda which i thought were quite pretty ,i'd never seen them before ,i think i might get some Tulip bulbs ,we don't have any Tulips it's mostly Daffs .

Welcome Harry ,don't think i've heard of that drink , that sounds like a good Chip Buttie :-D hope you can keep with us and post more of your memories .

That's a good house full of dogs Pat , do they all get on together ? sounds as if the house is really getting there now ,won't be long before you can get your bits and pieces in and make it feel like home .

Gill, i think the week should be dry so the estate agent should get the photo's done in the dry .

I sat watching the tele last night when all of a sudden i spotted a huge spider going across the carpet :-0 that's the second one we've seen the last coupe of days !!

The bulb in the oven light has gone ,it seems strange having the oven on and you carn't see whats cooking i have to keep opening the oven door ,so that's a job for tomorrow getting to the bulb and while i'am doing that i might as well give the oven a clean ,not a job i love doing .
Hubby's watching the race but he knows who won as this morning when he put the news on they were just announcing the winner !! he never had time to turn it off before he heard them say .

I'am now going to make a cake , Lemon i think ,i haven't made one for a while and hubby will enjoy a slice with his cuppa this afternoon .

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 27 Sep 2015 14:26

Mandy oh watched the race very early this morning so he knew who won but did'nt tell me. I turned the pc on this morning and there it was right in my face!! :-( I'm still watching it though.

Is that a lemon drizzle cake you make? Could I have the recipe please?

Afternoon All
Another lovely day here. But I have spent nearly all day blooming ironing :-S Have folded 34 pairs of pants !!!!.Now I am not doing any more even though there is still a fair bit of ironing left to do.
Chris has just left with Hannah to take back to Northampton Station. It was nice to see her an we will next see her on the 11th when she has invited us down to London for lunch .That will be our last visit to that house before the girls move.I thin kthey have a house to view tomorrow.

Hi Harry :-D.....Well I have not heard of that drink either.maybe it was a bit before my time :-D.I wonder if Frank might know of it.it would be nice to hear more memories from you please. We have run out of all our memories in Childhood now so it is always good to hear of some new ones.

Pat you will be exhausted excercising all of the dogs lol.Bet you are counting down the days now to moving in to your new 'quarters'
:-D

Mandy ,I must sort my pots out. They look really tatty now with the Geraniums and Lobelias all gone over. You mentioning spiders! well Hannah pulled back her duvet last night only to find a massive one in the bed !!!!!!.Luckily James was on hand to get rid of it.The cobwebs seem to have taken over while I was away, and there are also loads of Crane Flies hanging all over the house.

Mel I must have missed about OH and dogs.Is he looking after the neighbours ones?
I must have missed lots of things while I was away ,but there are just sooooo many pages to go back over.

The sun went in a little while ago and I felt a bit nippy so put a loose jumper on.Now I am too hot and the sun is out again.

I was awake early this morning after letting Thomas out at 5am(he slept on the bed again ).So I read my kindle and then whe nChris got up just after 7 I plugged the laptop in and caught up on Dr Foster,WDYTYA,and Casualty :-D I just need to watch the last of Jimmy Rose's Trials. What a brilliant WDYTYA with Frank Gardner the best in a long time :-D..He is such a lovely man .
We all watched the first episode of Downton last night ,but I missed a few bits as I kept nodding off :-SHopefully I will pick it up again tonight.

Next Sunday my Sister and BIL are coming for the day and also Fitz will be popping in.I can see it will be a riot LOL.
I'm going to get some potatoes and veg ready for later now .I think James was hoping for a Roast. He's going to be disappointed. It is just Chicken Breasts and Asparagus wrapped in Pancetta, roast charlotte potatoes ,Broccoli and Baby Carrots.
I said I will do a roast maybe in the week.I think he has missed some good home cooking the last couple of weeks :-D :-D..At least I am appreciated for something lol

Here's the cake recipe Mel, i do it in my poor old seen better days roasting tin 10 x 9 inches .

6 oz Marg
6 oz Castor sugar
6 oz SR Flour
3 Eggs
Zest of 1 Lemon

Topping , Juice from the lemon and 4 oz caster sugar mix together pour over cake when it's been out of the oven for five minutes .

Cream marg and sugar ,add lemon zest and eggs with a little flour mix together ,add the rest of the flour and put into tin , bake 190 c mine takes 22 minutes
some times i add the lemon topping some times i leave it plain .

Nice and easy and quick too .
I tried to email it but it kept saying there was an error so you might get it you might not .

Ohhhh spider in the bed :-0 now i shall be looking in the bed tonight !!
They said the spiders will be extra big this year , i hate them .
Hope Hannah and the girls like the house , is it still in the same area ?
Pizza for us tonight ,we had a roast last night .

Were's Frank today ? ,hope he's still not suffering with Indigestion.

I'm here JUST. !!! Had JJ licking my hand at 5.30 am this morning. Lovely little thing :-0 :-0 :-0 So had to get up and let him out. He was full of play so stayed up with him. Soon after my making COT he decided to go to sleep in my armchair !!! Little B###er . He then woke and decided he wanted to see Ros. I kept the lounge door closed to his dismay.

Ros came out about 9.30 am when I was ready to get back into bed. But I didn't.
We have had the doors open at the back all day, and hre has been in and out to suit himself. Most of the day he has been in the garden with Ros and his toys

Ros has been weeding the stones at the bottom of the garden. I have made up a spray bottle of strong weed killer, and will spray over the gravel/chips tomorrow.

I have been trying to get the security lights to work at the back of the bungalow. I have changed the fuses and the halogen bulbs, but still they won't work. It looks like I will have to buy new ones.

JJ went home this afternoon about 4.30 pm Once Jo and Ella arrived, he didn't want to know us :-( :-( :-( But we took him to the car and stroked and petted him before he left, with his new toys that Ros had bought him.

Glad that things are all go now Pat. Will be lovely for you to get in and settled in the next week or so.

Jane I expect James couldn't be bothered with cooking for himself, that's why you had all the veg to throw away.

What a beautiful evening it is now. A wonderful sunset, as it was last night.

Mel, I have made a note of the tablets and will ask the Dr. next time we speak. THANKS .

Yes the batter was nice, even though I shouldn't eat it. NAUGHTY BUT NICE !!!

We had a nice roast beef dinner tonight, I would have given JJ a bit of beef had he been here. We will miss him not being around. !!!

I'm off for a shower, then dressing gown and watch T.V. Won't be late to bed tonight.

See you in the morning.
