Evening All,

It's turning chilly now after another sunny day and more washing dried and put away. Just some new bath towels left out that I gave a quick wash through, but they may have to stay out overnight now. If we are awake to watch the moon eclipse I'll get OH to check if they are dry then! lol. I can just picture his face when I ask him.

I had a lazy lie in this morning while OH was out weeding the garden and putting washing out! :-0 After lunch we did some shopping and then I decided to go and look at a couple of cars I quite like the look of. I'm not changing mine this year, but need to start thinking what I will get in it's place as it's 8 years old now and I'm beginning to think a big bill could be just round the corner! I might have considered another the same but they've stopped making it now. Well I've been and sat in 2 today, both smallish hatchbacks so you would think they would cater for shortish people wouldn't you? I tend to slide the seat back to get in and out of the driver's seat as it's easier. In both cars I really struggled to reach down far enough to lift the bar to slide the seat so that's no good. :-S In the second one I couldn't adjust the steering wheel up and far enough in or get the seat far enough forward to press the foot pedals right down. I said to OH that I knew some cars would be out of my reach.........but didn't expect it to be in the foot pedal department. So it looks like I'll be checking some more out!

I watched the Frank Gardner WDYTYA too and thought it very interesting and what a nice, well mannered man he was too. His poor grandfather visiting his mother in the asylum, what a shock that must have been for a young boy and I wonder if he just upped and went without anyone knowing?

Hello Harry! :-) No, I'm afraid I'm too young to remember that drink, but I remember my mum talking about taking the middle of a loaf out and putting other food inside it.

OH has cut our runners down this afternoon and put the poles away, but there are still tomatoes ripening so I'm leaving those for a while. Now I need to get out there and sort out my pots like Gill has been doing!! I see Mandy's been busy in the garden too.

I'm glad things are moving along now for you Pat. It won't be long now! My word it will have been a tiring weekend with all the dogs and grandchildren so you should sleep well. lol

Hind legs off a donkey? I know what you mean Mel. There's no room to have any thoughts of your own about what you are doing is there? Still, we have to be thankful they still want to talk to us, some couple hardly speak.

He sounds a lovely little dog Frank and no trouble at all. It seems like it was 'out of sight out of mind' till he was collected to go home. The chap and his wife up the close whose mother is 105 have a little sandy coloured dog and he just lies on the front snoozing while they weed and plant, just like Monty Don's Nigel does.

Liz that's brilliant getting Cassie used to noises so she isn't so scared of the gunshots. I think experience of horses helps you to prepare other animals for scary things as you can't take short cuts with horses or you are in big trouble!! Does your son have horses that Ian can ride when you stay with him?

I'm looking forward to Downton again tonight. :-) I loved Mrs Pattemore doing her 'marriage guidance' bit.

Thanks Mandy I have written it down. I made one once before but did'nt like the recipe.

Jane oh is feeding our friends two dogs (a staffy and a border collie who dos'nt eat anything) He took down some chicken today as when he lets her out for a run she won't come back but today with the chicken she came with no trouble. I now have 10 drumsticks in the oven for the next few days!! She also ate the pack of cat food I gave him. It was a Whiskers pouch in chicken I had for the hogs and had'nt used. He also has to feed three pigs and a boar and make sure the 5 horses in the field have water. and the two little ponies in the bottom field. Some of their horses went away to a girl who rides them with Gerry and the cats went away too. They have gone to Valencia to a horse trial thingy.

Jane I can't believe all those pairs of pants you've ironed!! I've never ironed one pair in my whole life! I just fold them and put them away. Anyone wanting undies ironed in this house would have to do their own!!!!
We've had such a brilliant day at the Country Fair. Cas entered the Scurry Competition! She didn't do very well, but she was the youngest entrant, all the others were mature Cockers, Springers and one or two Labradors! What she lacked in skill she made up for with enthusiasm! and made everyone laugh when she brought the dummy back to me instead of OH as she was supposed to do! It was a big show so there was plenty to look at and join in. We're now all 'tired'.
No Ann, our son isn't into horses at all! he prefers playing football and Squash! although he did learn to ride when he was a child! His partner is, but hers is away on loan. They're are into country living though with three(!!) dogs a cat, chickens two ducks and a goose!!

Oh Bless Cas.She is still a pup really.Still quite excitable .Once she matures a bit she willl be the star of any show :-D :-D

Crumbs Mel that is quite a responsibility for OH !!!!!

Super Moon Tonight (is that what it's called?) Best between 3 and 4am apparently.
If Thomas wakes me extra early I might get to se it :-D :-D

Ann that bit with Mrs. Pattemore was good was'nt it but she did it very tactfully I thought.

We spent the whole afternoon trying to get a net over the pond. I hadsome left over from when he built the huge fruit cage. We had this stuff on the roof. It was about 4 meters wide and we just had 2 pieces acros the length of the pond and the smaller end we had just enough of the cut off bit on the end of the roll. We joined the first two bits together with cable ties but we hav'nt done the last bit yet and I think he is going to take it back off two attach the last bit.

The red tree over the pond is now loosing its leaves like mad and I spent a long while fishing some out with the small fiishing net I bought him in Mo**isons on Tuesday. He used the BIG net the one I can't even move through the water let alone move it once it is in there.

Tomorrow we're not doing anything!!

Morning all, Evening Kim

Lovely morning sunny but chilly. Autumn has really arrived

Yesterday was the first time we have had the whole family for dinner including Victoria who had finished work earlier, but unfortunately it was spoiled by an incident that happened to Daniele when he went to collect Victoria,
He had only just left our road and was traveling up through the houses when a little boy about 6 years old threw some stones at the car, Daniele stopped and got out of the car and went to talk to the child but the little boy ran inside the house when Daniele approached the front door knocked and waited, someone came to the door and then denied that it was there child, there was also a little girl there who had said yes it had happened but the parents didn't want to know about it. Daniele phoned the police and they came but spoke to the parents but still would do nothing about the incident, Daniele was angry of course but WHAT CAN YOU DO WHEN IT WAS ONLY A LITTLE BOY OF 6. the police went into the house to talk to the boy, then came out and said to Daniele that they believed his story was true.
Even if the parents had apologised and had spoken to the little boy it would have made the situation better luckily the car was only scratched

But that does not hide the fact that the parents didn't want to know, and the police didn't do anything either,

Katherine put this note on Facebook to warn other drivers of the situation hopefully other people will look out and have better luck next time cos I am sure it will happen again.

If you are going to be driving through Chatelherault Crescent in Silvertonhill, just watch out for kids throwing stones at your car and the PARENTS refusing to claim responsibility, denying the children's behavior. I'm embarrassed that this has happened to my Brother-in-Law, visiting our neighborhood, its disgraceful. :-| :-| :-|

Morning all and evenin g Kim,

Bit dull this morning but the sun is trying to come through as I type.

What a disgrace about those parents and child Fiona and the police doing nothing about it.

Nothing planned for today just go with the flow as it were.

Morning to you all, Evening Kim.

What a beautiful day. I was up about 7.00 and the sun was coming through the lounge window at the front, and with the heat from the radiator the Crystals were moving around and giving off lots of colours round the room.

I have got the line up, as Ros has stripped the bed and got a whites wash on. I think it's ready to go out.

Glad Cassie enjoyed her day out Liz, I am sure with time she will come along, as with all your training she will be great.

WELCOME HARRY. I was born around the East End, but like everybody else I don't remember that DRINK. The only drink we had was the good old water from the tap. Once in a BLUE MOON we might have a glass on lemonade.!!!!!
Where do you originate from. ?? and are you still in the AREA. I still have relatives down there, who I haven't seen in years.

That was terrible of the parents Fiona. I once caught three young boys throwing fireworks under my car as I drove passed. I put them in my car and took them to the police. I left them there for a good talking too, and they took them home, no doubt to talk with the parents. What chance have the children got if parents don't take responsibility for them :-( :-(

I bet the pond will be well protected once the nets in place Mel, Do you have a leaf sucker ?? that will get the leaves of the netting.

I have given up on mine, It's covered in "DUCK WEED" again. I think it will have to be emptied and dried out and treated. If any duck weed is left it will grow back. I might even consider filling it in.

Ann, I have taken down my runners now, I have some big beans which I might dry out and use for seeds for next year, we have had a very good year for them, even though the rest of my "Patch" hasn't done very well. I lost all my onions, carrots, garlic, broad beans. Still got a bag of "SPUDS" to empty. Ros has cleared all the tomato plants and has little bunches hanging in the greenhouse to ripen off.

I am going to spray the stones and the bottom of the garden this morning, now that Ros has weeded it. I have made a very strong mixture, so hope they won't come back.

What are you all up to today. ??? Behave yourselves whatever you do.

It does seem strange not having JJ. Ros is even talking about having another dog ;-) ;-) ;-) But somehow I don't think it will happen.

Afternoon Everyone
Well it's still summer :-D.What a smashing day again. Chris has done lotsi n the garden .I have been out and about .Got my Gel Varnish taken off at the salon, then I took a pair of James's shoes in to get full resole and reheeled. He is going to get a shock when I present him with the receipt ÂŁ65 :-0 :-0.My hand will be out for repayment :-D.Then I had to go and get 3 more boxes of wooden hangers from Dunel* for Hannah.I have just got the veg ready for dinner.Home grown beetroot ,parsnips, red onions, and bought carrots.I have 2 different types of sausages and Dauphinause Potatoes to go with.

Just heard Chris shout outside and then I heard squealing....Thomas has a bunny :-S :-S.He has shot back under the hedge with it.He had a bird this morning which escaped in the lounge :-S :-S..We managed to get it out,but Thomas is back to his old ways :-| :-|

Gosh Fiona ,the little boy is going to grow up thinking it is fine to throw stones at cars and heaven knows what else. Some people just don't deserve to have children if they are not prepared to teach them right from wrong. Also I wonder why the police chose to believe the child???
The photos of your MIL and family were lovely. She doesn't look 80 and boy doesn't your Frank look like her :-D

I am guessing that there will be yet another dish of cat food wasted here tonight if the Beast of Barton is having a feast on rabbit. He has hardly eaten anything since he has been back from the cattery,so he is obviously filling up on his 'kills'.

Did anyone wake up in the night to see the moon? I missed it :-S.Mind you it was really foggy here so I'm not sure if I would have seen it anyway.
The only time I saw an amazing Super Moon was the night my Dad passed away.I was bringing Mum back home about 3am from the hospital and as we rounded a corner there it was.Right over the Bay.It was so beautiful..I stopped the car and we just sat and looked at it for a while. It had been such a traumatic day with losing Dad just a couple of hours earlier but to see that was very special and I will never forget it.

I am sitting here in the dark !!.I had to pull the curtains earlier because of the sun and they are still drawn..I think it is time to open them lol

Frank why don't you consider taking in a pooch now and again while the owners are away.Better that than having a new one yourselves as it won't be tying you down.
When we had Chester he went to a lady in Wellinborough.I think she was in her late 60's and had lost her last pets but didn't feel she could take on any more full time.So she would just enjoy having little visitors for a short while. It was like home from home for Chester :-D

Oh Gawd!!! Chris has just found half a rabbit and has picked it up and taken it over the road to throw in the field .The Beast is now fast asleep in the Summerhouse !!!!

I never bother to line the tin Mel, i usually get the first bit out with a knife and then i use my fish slice to get the rest out ,try making it with Orange zest and juice that's nice too .

I haven't had any photo's from Frank :-(

I looked out at the moon about half past one but that was too early to see any thing ,i woke at about four and got out for a tiddle got back into bed and then remembered about the moon but i was to comfy to get out again ,hubby said he saw it ,it was just a sliver of moon laying on it's back but he didn't think it looked very red !!

Oh dear poor Thomas is in the bad books again i see :-( at least the time is coming for doors to be shut so he shouldn't be able to bring so many in .
I meant to say we had the first frost last Saturday and again this morning ,the shed roof was really white !!

Jane

Jane Report 28 Sep 2015 19:19

Mandy I have just sent you Franks pics.
Yes Thomas is in our bad books but then I just keep telling myself it is just nature.I just wish he would be happy enough with cat food LOL...I had to laugh when Chris picked up the half rabbit. He put disposable gloves on !!!!..He wanted me to do it ,but I said it was his job as I was cooking :-D :-D.I just pick anything up by their feet with no gloves.
When you think the things he has had to touch and do in his proffession you would have thought picking up a dead half rabbit would be no problem. When he was at medical school he had to disect human bodies !!!! so I can't see what the problem is with a dead rabbit .
On that tasteful note Dinner is ready :-D :-D

No Gill today. Hope she has'nt worn herself out. The estate agent comes tomorrow so perhaps she is getting ready for that.

Well I was going to make a chicken casserole but oh dos'nt want anything and had taken to his bed so he must feel really grotty. I shall have some beans on toast I think as I have put the chicken in the fridge and can't be bothered to do it for myself.
