I lost my connection again, hopefully it'll stay on long enough for me to post this.

21.000 photo's Ann, that's an awful lot, it's going to take you some time to go through them all to decide which ones you are likely to keep.
So you've found yet another clock at MIL's house, lets hope that's the last of them now. I did have a little giggle to myself when you said about FIL having a clock in the home......old habits and all that LOL

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Mel, hope you feel better soon, pleased to hear your OH is feeling a little better today.

So Ros isn't well either Frank, hope she feels better soon too.
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good nights sleep again, hope tonight is better for you.
How are you getting on with your apples? Do you have a big apple tree. I was watching Gardener World yesterday that I recorded and Monty had quite a few apples too. It must be a good year for them. I wonder if there'll be as many next year?

I changed the plug and fuse on the pump a moment ago but there is no power going to the pump so I think it's definitely broken. Thanks for the advice though Mel, it's handy to know these things for the future.
That's my something new learnt for today :-D :-D

OH said he might be able to use the cable from the pump to put some electrics into the garage because it's waterproof, so that'll be good if he can do that, then I can plug my freezer into it and store the frozen apples in the garage to use when I need them, also I can start buying a few bits and bobs for Christmas to freeze too. I wouldn't of thought of using the cable for that, so at least something good has come out of the pump breaking.

I think we did ok with the pump as it was almost 7 years old and it was only a cheap one to start with. We've never brought it in over winter either, so it did well to last this long. I think the motor might of burnt out when the water level went to far down. I noticed yesterday a damp area and when I looked closer the waterfall had moved slightly so the water was going over it and dribbling onto the floor behind a plant we had there. It wasn't enough to cause a puddle which is why I hadn't noticed before, but enough for the water level to drop below the pump.
Never mind if we can end up with electric in the garage and no water feature I don't mind. Besides we can always buy another pump and plug it in the garage if we want to keep the waterfall, so we end up with two things we wanted if we do that.
All's well that end well ;-) ;-)

It looks like my connection is staying on, but I'd better not push my luck and post this before it goes again.
BBL if I can <3

Hi to Ann and ~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh had one wrap for lunch with two slices of ham in it and lettuce and a tomato with a cup a soup so he has had something solid today. I had a small ham sandwich as I could'nt be bothered to do a whole salad by getting everything out of the fridge and putting it all back again.

Is it a quarum?

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 30 Sep 2015 14:36

Sound to me as though you ran it while it was dry and thats whats mucked it up Gill. It has run too hot. Leaving the pump in the pond over the winter should be ok as long as its covered with water and not at a depth that will freeze. We never took the pump out of mums old pond and that still worked ok after goodness knows how many years. I think the frosts in this country only go down 12 inches into the ground so if a pond is 18" deep it should be ok. Our pond must be at least 4 and a half foot deep now.

That's it Mel. Thanks. It turned out that everybody was there so she could have stayed home. All she's had today is a mug of warm milk and a slice of bread and butter.. She might try a boiled egg tonight. If I am hungry I will get something with my pint tonight.

It's a real "INDIAN SUMMER" here bright sunshine and very warm outside. I didn't get round to doing any jobs, I felt too tired.

There's only about a dozen more to do Gill. But Carolyn has lots of trees so no doubt there will be more from her.

We are expecting Lara (Julia's daughter) at any time. Ros is doing a bit of work for her on a dress that she wants altering. She will bring her little daughter Sophia, who will want Drinks and nibbles. Ros has bought a few bits for her.

Afternoon All

How is your throat this afternoon Mel? You know who to blame don't you for passing it on !!
So Ros has had a gyppy tum too Frank.I wonder if there is a bug about.I haven't been to the cinema as I am still not quite right. So Chris has gone on his own.He should be back soon.
The film is The Irrational Man Ann.
So I have had the afternoon to myself and have spent it hoovering ,spot cleaning mucky marks on the lounge carpet, and trying to unbung all the mouldy stuff in the washing machine drawer which is stopping the conditioner from going in the wash.I still don't think I have managed it though.I did 2 self clean cycles as well. All this time I have had the machine I had totally forgotten it had that feature :-S :-S So from now on I will use that once a week.

Gill I would much rather have leccy in the garage than a water feature. So if your OH can set that up I am sure you will be very happy :-D.I have one upright freezer, tumble drier and washing machine in the garage. There isn't any room anywhere else for them to go.I do have a fridge and fridge freezer in the passage bit between the kitchen and back door.

Tomorrow I have my eye test at Spec Sav*** so hope tummy is settled by then :-)
Just hope I don't need new specs.I have only had these 2 pairs for a year.

I looked out the window just now and Thomas was sitting on the patio smacking his lips and licking his chops :-S :-S..I wonder what he had just eaten lol.
Last night I slept in Hannahs bed just incase I needed up in the night and so not to disturb Chris.Thomas wouldn't sleep on my bed but spent the night with Chris and slept until just after 5.30 when he then came in to me to wake me up...Cheek of it lol
I think he knew he would get a flea in his ear from Chris :-D

Chris has just walked in.He says I didn't miss too much where the film was concerned, and that he had a nice lunch at As*.He decided there rather than Pizza Ex***** and had Chicken Millanese which was delicious. So nothing for him tonight.
I will just have some scrambled eggs and James has a Curry.

The sun is still shining here.I hope you all have the same.I think it might start to change on Sunday. We haven't done bad this last week have we.In fact I think it might be just slightly warmer here than what Fitz has now !!.We noticed a change in the temperature there the day before we came home.Especially in the mornings and evenings(just like here :-) )

I keep meaning to do a review on Trip Advisor for the Hotel.I must do one if I can work pout how to do it LOL

Oh Ann, all those clocks !! hope they weren't all chiming clocks !! :-D :-D
I had to smile when you said FIL pulled the clock from his bag ,i would have loved to have seen your faces !! :-0 :-0 :-D
What a lot of photo's !! i wouldn't know where to start with that lot .

Well you don't have to wonder were you got the bad throat from Mel ,i hope it's not to bad ,the throat sweets might help .

Hubby had his doctors appointment this morning ,the doctor thinks it might be his prostrate ,doc tested his water this morning and said that was fine now he has to have a blood test on Friday .

You can still get Vitory V's here too I used to have Zubes when I was young. They were brown and about the size of smarties and came in a round tin that was yellow and red I think.

Morning All. Evening Kim

Well first day of October, I was informed last night by MIL it was about 12-13 weeks to Christmas, :-| :-|
I said still have too many things to do and think about before Christmas arrives :-D

Chilly here in the mornings and lovely weather in the afternoons.

Off to a funeral this afternoon, it's an older man who was good friends with my dad, and who I often met on his walks going into or coming out of town, his wife was a member of the ladies group , that I joined when I moved up to Scotland, she passed away quite a few years ago
not sure how old he was, but he had dementia and I knew he was struggling by himself , but it seems that he had had an accident at home on Saturday(just gone) when he was climbing the ladder up to the attic, looking for what we don't know :-S :-S , looks like he had fallen off the ladder , cut his leg and may have also bumped his head, he had managed to crawl into the bathroom , but died there, could have been the loss of blood or sudden shock of falling,
anyway he wasn't found till Monday morning when his sister came to visit and she could not get into the house, so had to get keys from neighbours and found him , very sad way to go
:-( :-(
