Morning all,

Well another sunny morning here ,bit chilly first thing and i thought it was foggy out but when i really looked it was the windows fogged up on the outside !!

That poor man Fiona and how awful for his sister to find him gone like that .
I have bought one christmas present for DIL , i saw some nice trousers that i knew she would like and if i leave them they will all be gone .

I'am half way through my ironing ,i thought i'd have a coffee and then do the rest ,tonights meal will be the rest of the Shepherd's pie from yesterday so just need to do a few veg and that's sorted .

Oh he might have bought you a bottle back too Mel ,do you drink Gin ? i love the smell but not the taste .
Hope that cold is not a hanger on one Mel and it soon goes so you both feel better .

I should think my coffee's just cool enough now so BBL

Morning you SICKO'S and all the FIT ONES, Evening Kim,

You have been busy again, as soon as my back is turned you post post and more posts. I have a job remembering what I have read.

The advert was "GO SUCK A ZUBE" on the Tele, I loved Victory Vs and Fisherman Friends they seemed to warm you up. It's a pity you can't get "RADIO MALT" and "VIROL" they seemed to get rid of all the ailments during and just after the WAR. Sorry you young ones, you wouldn't know about that :-D :-D :-D

Ros has still got the "runs" and has not eaten anything, just keeps drinking water. She says she is "SO HUNGRY"

Best thing not to have gone out yesterday Jane, nothing worse than having trouble finding a loo in those circumstances.

Not long now then Pat. It's strange how the dogs "DECIDE" where they will go for their walks, little devils. !!!

Our conservatory windows were just like yours Mandy, but that's all burnt of in the lovely sunshine. Doors now open into the garden, even though it's a bit fresh.

What a terrible end to that poor old chaps life. I can understand Ros telling me DO NOT DO ANY CLIMBING while I am out. !!!

I slept like a log last night. 11.00pm until 7.00 am this morning. I don't know if I am picking anything up from Ros, but my lips are coming up in cold sores and I am putting Zorac# on my lips. Hope it doesn't develop into a cold.

Ann, Have you found anymore CLOCKS and cooking TRAYS LOL :-D :-D :-D :-D

Be good, see you later.

Morning all

Lovely sunny day again today.

Sorry to hear about your dad's friend Fiona, it must of been horrible for his sister to find him like that.

Hope your cold clears soon Mel.

It sounds like things are coming on quite quickly now Pat, hopefully you'll be in soon. Not much fun flee bites, I used to get eaten alive at my mum's when she had her cat, so much so I had to stop going round there for a while until she could get the place sprayed. On one visit I ended up with 18 bites all on one leg. OH and Sandra didn't get any, so they must of liked the taste of me LOL. Hope the cream works.

Yes not long to go till Christmas now. I have most of my presents sorted just OH and Sandra to finish off. I had to buy all Michelle's presents earlier in the year with her visiting, so I could give them to her, so I decided to do quite a few other people at the same time, now I don't have much left to do

I was going to paint the side fence today but forgot to ask OH to move the car so it'll have to wait for another day. Hope the weather stays nice.

Off to get my morning cuppa, I've not long woken up, which is very later for me. It was nice to have a good nights sleep for a change.
Hope you had a better nights sleep last night Frank <3

Frank Ros should really get some of those hydrating salt drinks from the chemist. They do flavoured ones and some more emodium. She can't go on like this or there will be nothing left of her to cuddle.

I feel a bit better today, still that dry cough but my throats not so raw. Oh is actually outside doing a bit of work.

I have fed the chickens and done him and I toast, taken my pills, fed the wild birds but still hav'nt done my own hair!! I think thats next on the list and then wash up. Meat pie tonight if I get it made or if not it will be stewed steak, carrots and onions with dough boys and spring greens.

I could just go a ciggy now................................................................but I shan't.

MillymollyAmanda Report 1 Oct 2015 11:38

No No No Mel you don't really want one you have been so good don't give in, not good for your sore throst either.

Another sweet we had were those tiny black Imps ,i think they were Liquorice flavour.

Poor Ros still got her tummy trouble, mine only lasted the day ,does sound as if she needs some thing to help her after all this time ., she must feel very weak with no food inside her.

Ironings all done now going to wash my floors ,they will soon dry with the doors open.

Shame you couldn't get the fence done Gill especially with the nice dry days but i'm sure you'll find some thing to do ,your always busy doing something .

No Mandy I will be good. It's just that every so often after doing something I fancy one.

i AM OFF NOW TO DUST THE BEDROOM. Sorry about that I hits the cap lock. Then I may do up a couple of Di's little Christmas bits then that will be some things out of the way.

Frank Report 1 Oct 2015 14:58

Just knocked the mouse off the mat and lost the post and the batteries were all over the floor. :-0 :-0 :-0

Good afternoon all,
Still a very warm sunny afternoon here.

How are the sickos, Ros has just returned from "Stitchery Do" and her tummy is still upset. She has gone to Tesc# to get some more emodium and have a word with the Chemist, to see if he can recommend something for her. So no dinner again tonight. I still have some Spag Bol sauce over in the freezer, so I will get that out and do some more spaghetti and have that. I have a shoulder of Lamb in in fridge, so hope that will be alright for tomorrow, if she fancy's it.

MEL, YOU ARE A GOOD GIRL. still not smoking, I know there are times when you just feel like one. But don't let temptation get the better of you. A nice G & T will do you more good. I have two tins of G & T in the fridge so I might join you later. CHEERS. !!!

How is our Jane today. ?? better than yesterday one hopes. So you didn't miss much with the film then :-| :-| Have you got all the ironing and H.W. finished now ??

Mandy, those little imps use to get stuck in your teeth, also those Black Jacks. I use to like Spanish wood. You got so much for your money. I think it was before your time !!

My new security light has just turned up, together with a new cloths line. I didn't get any joy with the one that won't retract. Lets hope it's fine tomorrow morning and I will put them both up. Ros will have to hold the steps.

I see Chris Tarrant has a travel programme on 5 tonight, that might be interesting. I don't know what else is on apart from the SOAPS. :-P :-P :-P

Gillx

Gillx Report 1 Oct 2015 15:39

Afternoon all

Sorry to hear Ros is still ill. Maybe she could try eating a meal, it might help if she had some food inside her. It couldn't do any harm anyway and at the very least would give her some energy. It might be worth a try, she can't carry on not eating, as that will do more harm than good.

Keep going Mel, don't give up now you've come so far. The cravings will go away soon and then you won't think about it anymore. Having a drink might make you want a ciggy more, so maybe wait a few more weeks until the cravings for cigarettes have passed. Just a thought.

Yes it is a shame about the fence Mandy, but you're right I have found other things to do and have changed the bedding and had a lovely bath, so there's a bit more washing to get through. I've decided to take another look at my family tree this afternoon, while my router is being nice to me. So far it hasn't stopped working.....Hope I've not spoken to soon now LOL

After asking the Agents to put our property on the internet today, I checked before to find they did it yesterday. Never mind at least it's on there, although they haven't put the floor plan on, so I'll have to ask them about that. It's on the brochure, which they sent to me today, after I confirmed it all yesterday via email, so that bit's right. The board went up yesterday too, so now it's just a point of waiting for the viewings to start. I was expecting the owner's son to ring me today to say when he's coming round to see the place, but he hasn't rang yet....Hope this isn't the start of problems, like we had with the last Agent. :-S :-S

What some beautiful weather we've all been having. Today OH and I have been busy digging and bagging up potatoes for the winter. We should have enough to see us through till at least Feb.
All this talk of Christmas!! I'm afraid I have given it a seconds thought. I never do till after Remembrance Sunday, I can't raise the enthusiasm till much nearer the time.
I've frozen loads of tomatoes, and a few raspberries, and some plums, but that's it. The sweetcorn are coming to an end which is a pity as they're so good. Frank, you ought to try to grow some next year, you'll never want tinned, or shop cobs again!!!
Cas has had her first cooked bone today which she loved!! I'm always a bit wary as they can have an adverse effect, but so far so good.
I bought one of those hand vacs yesterday. OH has mounted it on the wall, it should be very useful and save getting the Dyson out all the time.
Spoken to both offspring today, they're both fine so that's good!!
Hope the house sale goes well Gill, and that all the sick recover asap!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 1 Oct 2015 16:44

Frank a little chicken would'nt hurt Ros's tum. I know she dos'nt like fish.

I have been cutting the dead sweet pea stalks off and pulling weeds from the front of the bungalow then we both came in for a cuppa as oh said his back was cold out in the garden. He has been putting the edging round the pond today so nearly finished now. I think he has got on well today considering he still has this rotton cold. We both wondered if it was anything to do with our flu jabs.

There's not a cloud in the sky here. It's been a beautiful day.

Where's Jane I hope she is ok.

Jane

Afternoon All
Frank my tum is still not right either :-S.I decided to have an immodiu* at lunch time so I was sfae to go for my eye test.I didn't want to miss it...It is strange that both Ros and I have had this for a few days now.How is Mandy's tummy today?

Oh Fiona that must have been dreadful for the poor Daughter to find her Dad like that :-(....I wonder what on earth he was going up in the loft for???

Mel you are doing so well without your ciggies :-D..I reckon you have got there now.

Liz you have frozen a load haven't you.We have never grown Corn ,probably because I am the only one who eats it.I have to admit though I prefer the tinned.
Yes the weather is so good still.I think we still have a few days of it :-D
Not sure about Sunday and if we will be able to eat outside.Maybe will will manage lunch ,but it will have cooled off to much by dinner time.

Cas will on the look out for more Turkey bones now Liz :-D :-D.I bet she thought it was Xmas LOL even though she hasn't had her first one yet.
I noticed all the Xmas things on the shelf in Boot* this afternoon.I too can't be doing with it until at least November.

Hannah and the girls have found another house and will move at the end of this month. It looks very nice but only has one bathroom which isn't what they wanted .But I'm sure they will manage :-D.The house is a double fronted end of terrace .3 bed recently refurbished with a really great kitchen .One bedroom has a sun balcony. It is in Highbury (I think Islington?).Not too far from where they are now. There is a nice little garden with decking .Hannah said they were very lucky to find an actual house in that area as everything else was Flats for Rent.

Frank I have cleaned the lounge and kitchen windows in and out today and the glass doors on the cooker. Can't have my sister thinking what a mucky pup I am lol.

I am just bunging some chicken breasts cut up,peppers, mushrooms, baby leeks and those lovely little knobbly potatoes from Sainsb****.I think they are called Anya, in a big roasting tin,and then some Green Beans..I will have the chicken ,potatoes and veg but not the leeks.

6 cold calls so far today :-S :-S :-S...I just don't answer the phone now and wait to hear if there is a message ,then I can pick up quick if it is someone I want to speak to.

magpie

magpie Report 1 Oct 2015 18:27

It wasn't Turkey bones Jane!! It was a knuckle bone from the butcher. I'd be very wary about giving any bones from a bird as they tend to splinter with disastrous results!
We're having Curry for Supper cooked by OH, then an early night as we have more potatoes to bag up!!

Annx

Annx Report 1 Oct 2015 20:14

Evening All,

Another nice day, but I didn't see a lot of it as I've been 'weeding' all my files and photos again. I was out yesterday, will be out tomorrow morning and out all day Saturday, so I rang the man and he says I can keep the monitor he lent me till after the weekend. I'd got some of those Picturekeeper sticks thinking they would be good for my photos, but they soon filled up, so I deleted some of the photos off them that weren't so good leaving space then for more, thinking it would then search for and pick up just the ones that were left, but it didn't go back to those, just carried adding on newer ones!! :-S Anyway I've crammed what I want onto 3 sticks and am doing a second copy onto an external drive that I'm putting documents on as well and is much quicker.

It sounds like there is a bug going round with these dicky tummies and poor Ros seems to be really suffering. I've heard not to take immodium unless you have to go out for something like Jane has. Stopping the symptoms stops your body flushing out the bugs and takes you longer to get better. The rehydration salts are a good idea though and plenty of fluids...... and TLC of course from NURSE Frank !

Yesterday my sister showed me some lovely cards she had made. They had goldfish on them swimming under a waterlily, but she had put orange glitter on each scale of the fish making them look very realistic. I showed her my recent FH 'finds' while we had lunch and she was stunned and speechless! First at the 'Sir' I found, but then to hear we are related further back to the USA President, Richard Nixon. He descended from a brother of my ancestor. Then that I'd found someone else's tree that went way, way back from the 'Sir' !! It would difficult to check the info on that one so far back, but if it is right, then going back in a direct line through either father or mother I get to Alfred the Great!! Lady Godiva is a sibling at one point too!! That made OH chuckle. :-) I must contact the person who's tree it is and ask how accurate it's likely to be. While I was out, OH managed to fall off the steps while he was painting the top of the old arbour, so none of our fence tops got done Gill! He is lucky he didn't crack his head on the steps or rocks, but his side is wrenched and bruised! Frank would know all about that!! :-S

Today our post didn't arrive till after 5.00pm and the beads I needed for tomorrow's class didn't arrive in it. Coming that time it was too late to go out and buy some!! I shall have to improvise with something else now. :-S My back and my knees have been killing me today after a lot of standing while out with my sister yesterday. She browses for ages seated in the comfort of her scooter so after about an hour and a half I had to go and have a sit down. lol. She bought some Christmas baubles while we were there. :-0

The other tv advert was something like 'ZUBES ARE GOOD FOR YOUR TUBES'. I like the Honey and Lemon Lockets if it's a tickly throat. :-)

Better sort some beads for tomorrow now. ;-)

Jane Report 1 Oct 2015 20:34

:-D :-D :-D Ann .I think it just brilliant that you have traced yourself back to President Nixon ....and possibly Lady Godiva LOL What a history you are discovering.I can just picture your Sisters face :-D..I wonder what next you might find??...You could be a great candidate for WDYTYA :-D

I am just watching Pride of Britain .....What the heck has Carole Vaudeman (spelling) done to herself???..She looks ridiculous with that blonde hair. :-S :-S.......Trying to look too young I think...It doesn't work for me.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 1 Oct 2015 21:14

So full of dinner I can hardly move..............................................

Annx

Annx Report 1 Oct 2015 21:33

There were pictures of Carol Vorderman in the papers when she'd had that makeover Jane and I thought she looked so much nicer with her darker, shiny locks too and I think the blonde makes her look older. I hope that family tree is right, it would be great if it was so that's a challenge for me! At the time of the 'Sir' they owned quite a bit of land too. His son is shown in one document as 'Jur Hatter' whatever that means so it looks hatters were in the family for hundreds of years.

It's good things seem to be really taking off for Pat now!! The workmen must have gone into overdrive and it looks like she's going to be in well before Christmas.

Well I'm so tired tonight and OH has gone to bed so I think I will too. Night night x

Gillx

Gillx Report 1 Oct 2015 21:58

I agree Jane, Carol doesn't suit blond hair does she? It looks like she's had some cosmetic surgery done too.

Sorry to hear Gordon has fallen off the steps Ann, hope he's not to seriously hurt. The good weather is suppose to be with us for a few days so he's plenty of time to do the tops of the fences. Maybe he could rest a bit first though.

That's what I was saying before Frank, Ros should eat something and chicken is a good start like Mel said. Hope she starts feeling better soon, maybe she should see a doctor with it going on for so long.

It could well be a reaction to the flu jabs Mel, that might explain why you and your OH are feeling a bit under the weather at the moment. Hope you both feel better soon too

Sounds like Cass enjoyed her knuckle bone Liz, you'll be her best friend for life now <3

Going to carry on watching Pride of Britain, then get off to bed, so I'll say goodnight and see you all in the morning.
