Morning Mel didn't see you there, my post is on the bottom of the page before this one. Enjoy your housework......not LOL I don't have any housework to do with doing it all in a rush yesterday for the viewing, so it's a relaxing day for me today, starting with a nice hot bath ;-) ;-) Good job too, because I'm not feeling very well this morning and couldn't handle having to do lots of work.

We have plenty of cloud too, it's forecast rain later which isn't good for Sandra as she wants to nip to the library. Luckily it's only down the road and takes her about 5 minutes to get there, so that's not to bad.

Must go now, my bath will be getting cold. Be back later.

Morning everyone,

Really cloudy here i having just hung some washing out but there no wind at all ,yesterday was a really windy day and things soon dried don't think they will today.
We woke to a frost this morning the shed roof was white !!

I'am sure the people who viewed your house wouldn't have minded seeing a few things laying about Gill ,it was short notice from the estate agent though ,you don't want to many viewings like that so you have to rush to get things ready although after all the sorting you've been doing i'm sure it wasn't to untidy .
I hope the sore throat soon feels better, i know when my sister worked with the elderly in the home she was always getting colds and picking up bugs and as your OH said the heating in those homes doesn't help but the elderly do feel the cold so it's always warm in the homes.

Frank i hope you can get in touch with some one to find out how your brother is ,when you have some thing like that on your mind it's no wonder you couldn't sleep last night.

Meant to ask how your pain is today Mel, do you think you might have pulled a muscle in your side ?

Right i'd better get my rubber gloves on and tackle the oven :-(

Frank Report 23 Oct 2015 10:53

Morning David, Gill and all, Evening Kim,

Well I sat and read and then dropped off in the armchair. Ros woke me at 3.30 am to get me to bed. I soon settles down and slept until 8.00 am. No doubt with the house bring quiet I will have a few zzzzz later.

Gill, I don't think my sending a card will make any difference. My nephew is a School master, so I would hate to ring him while he is teaching. Remember it was him who wanted to speak with me regarding my brothers health. I am sorry but I have enough on my plate at present, to be running around after other people. I have tried to make contact, so I will leave well alone.

Madam has decided she would like a new sewing machine for Christmas. One that will do quilting, and other things. What every other things mean
:-D :-D I will have to ask Margaret what type of machine she will require.

I looked on Ebay last night/this morning and some of these Computerised types are over £1,000 . So she will have to cut her CLOTH to suit my budget.

Another drab morning here today.

When I came out of the bathroom this morning "JEREMY KYLE" was on. As much as I can't sit and watch it, this morning was an absolute eye opener. I won't go into details, but you should watch it on "CATCH UP" even if you don't normally watch it. It had me with tears in my eyes.

Not very good for your viewers Gill, having their car broken into. They do say "you can have your wheel trims pinched while you are at the traffic lights" in Liverpool. :-( :-( :-(

What are you all up to today.?? I for one will be having a lazy day.

Morning All,

It's dull, dull, dull here at the moment but the washing is out so I hope it dries.

David, just put these thoughts right out of your head! lol. In any job where you deal with complaints you are always aware that some things may have happened but have not been recorded so you don't assume the customer is wrong, even though you have to say there is no evidence to support a claim. Even complaints that are not upheld are useful if there becomes a pattern of further complaints about eg particular procedures. It's the way managers gain awareness of what might be going on and the way things get improved sometimes. :-) The 'dishonesty' thoughts have all been conjured up by your head so chase them out!!

Oh dear Frank I expect you won't get much sleep till you can speak to your brother now.

I've just had a thought Frank, is your brother still in hospital and do you know which hospital it is? Maybe you could go and visit him, or maybe ring the hospital for an update, sometimes the hospital let you talk to the patients if they're fit enough to get to the phone. You said he wanted to speak with you so I can't see him saying no and if he can't get to the phone then at least he'll know you've rang to see how he was. This might put your mind at rest and help you sleep better too.
You're right Frank, Liverpool does have a bad reputation, but it made our area look brilliant and the couple yesterday liked the fact that it was quite, so that was good.

You have a right to complain David and like Ann said if a few people are saying similar things about the same person then they will soon build a picture up, then if there's an investigation you might be able to make a claim in the future. I hope it all works out for you and remember you've done nothing wrong, so you have no reason to feel dishonest :-) :-) all you wanted was a car to get around in, which you wouldn't of needed if it hadn't of been for them.
Keep your chin up, things have a way of working themselves out in the end.

Good job I posted again earlier, it delayed me getting into the bath so I didn't miss the call from the agent. It sounds like good news, the couple who viewed yesterday are very keen on our place and might come back for a second viewing next week. Also I had a missed call from a number I didn't recognise yesterday, well, it turned out to be another branch of our agents wanting us to do another viewing with someone else. Unfortunately our agent today is having a bit of trouble contacting the woman who rang me, as it's her day off, so they tried ringing the man who wants to view and couldn't get in touch with him either, so I'm now waiting to hear back from them when they make contact to arrange a viewing. It's all go at the moment. I shouldn't get to excited though, we've been here before and nothing came of it, so I need to calm down and wait to see what happens next.

Going to dry my hair now

I've just had a thought David about the car you wanted. If you are on disability benefit then, if I remember correctly, you can either have the money each month or a car. My FIL had a car and it was adapted for him, they even put in a swivel part on the passengers seat so my MIL could get in and out of the car easier . At least this way you'll get the car you need without the hassle of a claim. It might be worth looking into.

Done some more washing up and oh hoover the kitchen for me without me asking him!!!!!!!!!!!! So surprised. What a good hubby I have, bless.

My back is still stiff today or sore. I am not sure which it is really but I don't think it is as bad as yesterday or the day before. It is just strange because once I am standing I can do all sosrts of things but if I sit down its then it hurts when I try to get up. If I put my weight on my right leg and push up on a chair and the desk then its not too bad as long as I straighten the right leg slowly.

Hope you feel better after your bath Gill. It may clear your tubes a bit in the steam.

Well my ovens are now all sparkly clean ,phew what a job the top oven i can do with no trouble but the bottom one is a devil to do, i wish the top oven was the fan oven instead of the bottom oven as i use the fan oven the most .

Oh Gill a secound viewing sounds good they must have liked it to want a second look ,got my fingers crossed for you .

Good job you saved up when you were young Frank those sewing machines are expensive , but then Ros does a lot of sewing , i expect the "other things" are embroidery stitches ,you can do some lovely things with the new machines, i look at the create and craft channel they have them on there and the demonstrations they do are really good.

Just had my lunch now i'd better find another job to do ,ironing next i think .

Good afternoon everyone

I have just seen on the BBC news regarding Talk Talk my elder SIL had trouble with a phone call supposing to be from them about a couple of months ago she started to give her bank details as requested and then alarm bells rang she rang her bank and they cancelled her card and reissued a new one about the same time I had a phone call from Talk Talk but when I said I wasn't with them and put the phone down. My SIL after the initial phone call got a call everyday for about 2 weeks her son rang Talk Talk and they said it wasn't from them he then rang the police but said they couldn't do anything as no crime had been committed. He has installed a new phone that blocks any unrecognised calls now

Gill I hope you have good news from the estate agent, I don't think people mind about personal stuff on show as long as the house is clean and smells nice.

Frank I'm sorry to hear you still haven't been able to speak to your brother's family at least you have done everything possible to contact them.

I have my two granddaughters staying for the weekend they usually come straight from school so school uniforms to wash later

I have been putting off cleaning my double oven so must get round to it, has anyone got a good tip on cleaning the glass doors, the rest is no trouble as its self cleaning.

It's just the same with schools Gill. The little darlings are a reservoir of bugs and colds and as soon as term starts and OH goes to meetings he starts with colds or sore throats! I am a 'no kiss zone' once he starts sneezing!! I've had awful chest infections in the past so he gives me a wide berth. I hope your throat soon feels better and a restful day will do you good. We have been in touch with the estate agent this morning and the person we were dealing with is in hospital now! The manager is going to take photos in the morning and she said it should be on their and other websites on Monday. She is faxing a copy of the contract. I doubt anything would have happened if we hadn't rung! Things are sounding more promising at your end Gill, fingers crossed for you.

Mel I wonder if you have sciatica? OH has had it at times ever since I've known him. He finds he is fine when standing (especially at footie matches!) but not when he's sitting for long. When he stands up or moves when sitting he gets sudden pain as well as soreness. It must be when the nerve pinches. Ibu*rofen is good for reducing the swelling around the nerve if it is, but I don't think you can take that with beta blockers. Have you tried those heat patches as I find they are a godsend with any back pain and am grateful to Jane for telling me to try them. :-)

Frank I would let Ros sort out what machine she wants that will do the things she wants to do as some can be very complicated. She probably has friends who have these machines and can advise her which are the easiier ones to use. Mum had one that did everything years ago but it did her head in trying to follow instructions to use it for other than the basics.

Liz, it sounds as if Cassie just takes a lead from yourselves and if you don't fuss over things, neither does she. It's a bit like that with horses too. It;s brilliant she sees her crate as a happy place to relax wherever it is now, even at a strange house, the little poppet! It's good she is trying hard and concentrating more with fetching the dummy now as she is still very young and must see lots of distractions. I'm glad you got her too as hearing about her gives me pleasure too. :-)

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 23 Oct 2015 15:07

I can second that Liz. What Ann said in her last sentance.

Ann I thought it may be sciatica too and I think I mentioned that in a previous post. I can take Ibu*rofen and thats why I have those pills I told Frank to ask his doc if he can have, Omepraz*le. You must take those if you are taking the Ibu*rofen. I do try not to take anything unless I am really in pain though.

Well I think I shall go and clean the loos now as I have been meaning to do it for two days!!!!!!!!!!!!! but before I do I must put the steak on for our meat pie tonight.

Frank Report 23 Oct 2015 15:21

Afternoon all,

Well all quiet on the western front as they say. Not had any calls from family members.

Had a nice "BIG SOUP" at lunchtime. Beef and onion, with potato, carrots. You could say a meal in a tin. thoroughly enjoyed it.

Pork chops tonight. I will let Ros decide how she wants them when she gets in. I like them with a bit of stuffing on top and roasted in the oven. With Roast Pots, and veg. Sometimes Ros likes them with Corn on the Cob and chips. Her decision today !!!

With my oven glass, I take it out and clean it in the sink with a scouring pad. Or you could warm up the oven up and spray Mr Mustl# oven cleaner on it. Mind you my oven opens downwards, won't be so easy if it swings open :-D :-D :-D

Mel it sounds like OLD AGE is creeping up on you. ;-) ;-) ;-) I get a lot of discomfort in my right hip if I stand or sit to long. I don't think this damp weather helps me anyway. It seems to "get in my bones" as my mum use to say,

Yes Liz I do envy you at times having Cassie. We did look into having a pet for holidays, when the owners are away (PET SITTING) But are naturally concerned about the temperament of the dogs, I know we can determine the size. But every dog is different.

Anne, I saw about T T. What a total disgrace. that all those customers names and details have got into the wrong hands. That has got to be a warning to all T T customers. !!!

Time for a COT. and I can smell the flowers on the table that need to go out pooooo

Thank you all, I appreciate your opinions.
When you've been lying around for two and a half years, often alone, you think.
You become aware of the fact the silly bugger who vaulted over the wall is no longer a young man. When I was lying in ward 23 for so long I saw so many come and go, all injured. One was a policeman injured in a car chase. During his stay he had several visits from uniformed and plain clothes officers, including Chief Constable Sue Simm

Frank, I recall when my brother had cancer. I learned about it from my other brother by telephone. I visited him at Wansbeck and Freeman hospitals. We are not close, but he knows I care. It could have been me.

magpie Report 23 Oct 2015 16:31

Frank, I agree with you about the dog sitting. All dogs have different temperaments, and it would be difficult (and embarrassing!!) to try to have a dog that suited, while steering clear of one's that don't!. My SIL has a little terrier, and it's so snappy and yappy, I don't know how she keeps it - you wouldn't want to dog sit a creature like that!,! Your comments about Cas are so kind; I don't want to be a bore about her, but I will keep you up to date with her triumphs, as well.as her occasional downs!! At the moment she is outside chasing her heavy duty plastic ring, and putting it on her head!!
She's taken to wriggling and grinning, particularly when we greet her in the morning! She is proper poppet!!
OH hasn't been feeling too good today, very tired and yet another upset tum. He suffers from these quite a lot which is, we've been told, often a by product of prostate cancer, particularly after open surgery. Another trip to the GP is in the offing just to check it's nothing serious and that it's just old age!
Fish with smashed potato and a (bland) side salad for supper tonight, easy and digestible. Better go and peel those spuds!!

Afternoon Everyone.
I don't seem to have done much today .It is quite dark here now and I think really chilly so lit the woodburner :-D.Now it is as warm as toast. My jumper will be coming off any minute.

I too was going to say Mel it does sound as though you have a touch of Sciatica.I have had that a couple of times and it is awful.I would suggest that you take regular painkillers and any anti inflammatories .There is no point just taking one now and again.

Gill fingers crossed that it is going to be positive news about your house. They do say it is good to have something smelling nice when you have a viewing..Like Coffee Brewing or Bread Warming in the oven :-D :-D

Anne my inner glass doors slide out on the cooker so I just sit them over the sink and spray with Ci* Oven Cleaner leave for a bit and then use something like a Brillo on them. That usually does the trick even though it still takes a good scrubbing.I detest that job :-S

I must have missed a post from Liz about Cassie.I'll have to have a look back and see.

I think colds are doing the rounds.Touch wood we are clear here. But I see so many people who are blowing noses and coughing away.My poor Sister seems to always be picking one up and it always goes to her chest.

Oh Frank don't flowers pong when they go off and the water smells like rotten cabbages or old sprouts :-S :-S.I have often walked around the lounge trying to find out where a smell is coming from and it is nearly always the stale water in a vase.

I have just taken Fitz into town so he can collect his car from the garage. He rang to see if I would mind and said not to drive down the lane to get him.He would walk up !!!!!.I have only known him do that a few times in all the years LOL He said it took him 13 minutes :-D.He had a lovely colour to his cheeks when he got here :-) :-)

David you certainly saw a lot of comings and goings on ward 23 didn't you.All those weeks that you were laid up there. It must all seem like a bad dream now.

Do your Granchildren go to school nearby you Anne?.I so remember Fridays and getting all the uniforms off my too to get in the wash..Those smelly PE bags were the worst(especially James's :-S :-S)

Good job you chased up the Estate Agents Ann.Hopefully all the details and pics will up by Monday now.it is bad when you think they want a big chunk of money and yet don't do the job properly.

Well our Dinner is going to be and easy and straightforward one tonight .Frozen Basa fish with Lemon and Herb crust.Oven chips ,peas and broccoli .James will be out for his dinner.I keep thinking it is Saturday as he has been off today. In fact he has taken Monday and Tuesday off too.He said he has 10 days holiday to get in before Christmas.

I read Johnny's little book today.Norman the Caterpillar. It is a sweet little story but also sad too as you realise that Norman is actually meant to be Johnny. It is a touching tale :-(

Frank

Frank Report 23 Oct 2015 17:13

It's been decided that for a change MADAM has made a decision regarding dinner tonight, Stuffing on the chops in the oven, Mashed potato, runners carrots and peas. So that's what I have done.

Gill, Looking back at your posting. I have no idea if my brother is in hospital, and if he was I don't know which one.

David like you a family member informed my wife of my brothers Cancer, I have tried to make contact, but with no luck. They do have my number, so I will leave to them to contact me.

I see we (Scotland and Northern England) are in for some terrible weather over the weekend. Heavy rain and temps down to minus three degrees. You have been warned Fiona and David. So watch out !!!

No Premiership football tomorrow lunchtime. (WHAT WILL I DO ????)
I might walk down and have a pint tonight after being cooped up in here all day. ;-) ;-)

I keep thinking of those children on Jeremy Kyle this morning, what brave little souls they were. Has anyone seen them ???

Have a pleasant evening all, and Jane not to MUCH WINE !!!! <3 <3 <3

Jane I've had sciatica too, a few years ago now and as you said it was just awful! The pain reduced me to tears. I was at work then, and getting in and out of the car was fearful, also soft chairs! I used to take two ibuprofen, plus two paracetamol, every four hours!! In the end I had acupuncture, and amazingly it did the trick. I was lucky as our GP at the time was a great believer in alternative medicine and he managed to get this treatment on the NHS! Usually you have to go privately, so I was lucky, and it worked!!! Sometimes I can feel where it was, if you get my drift, as a reminder to be careful!!!!
My oven glass comes out as well, as do the sides and the plate at the top, but I still hate oven cleaning, but then I hate anything to do with housework however labour saving it is!!
