Morning all, Evening Kim.

HOME ALONE TODAY. This morning Ros is at Stitchery Do till 3.00pm then onto the hairdressers for 3.30 pm Not sure what time she will be home . I expect it will be 6.00 ish.

Gill if you have a Morrisons near you, they do excellent half shoulders of lamb for around £4.00 There is enough on it for you three and a bit over for a sarnie if you like cold lamb. Cook it for 3/4 hours in a covered tin on a skillit on about 120/130 degrees. The meat will fall away from the bone. I sprinkle my lamb with a Mint Marinade and a spoonful of mint sauce, I also add a spoonfull to the gravy. Let me know how you get on. But I won't know untill I get back from HOLS !!!

I am doing Sirloin steaks, with pepper sauce, mushrooms, Onions, chips and peas for dinner tonight, so it won't matter what time Ros gets in, as I can soon get in on.

Cleaver Cas. Her first "PICK UP" no doubt the first of many. Two very proud "PARENTS" then I expect <3 <3 <3 <3

The wind is up this morning together with the rain. I'm not going anywhere so it won't bother me.

I have been asked by madam if I can run the hoover round. That should take all of TEN MINUTES.

Post just arrived with a new upholstery/carpet cleaner. Called "STAIN SHIFTER" and supplied by "GREASED LIGHTING" on ebay for £9.99 litre. Jan in Devon uses it all the time having light coloured suites and Ella and JJ all over them.

Conrad and Jan have just skyped to wish us a happy holiday. By the way. He had a phone call from his partner in Spain to say his Passport (THE ONE HE CANCELLED) arrived yesterday. The excuse givin it was caught up in the Christmas post. !!!! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Will try to get back on this evening or tomorrow morning. If not behave yourselves and I will see you on the 16th JAN <3 <3 <3

Morning all

Very windy here it's made our Sky system jumpy again, good job I've got a free view box as a back up, poor OH went out and gave it a nudge but it doesn't seem to have done the trick. Hope the wind dies down a bit so it can be sorted. Oh just noticed a message saying no signal again then it came back on. I don't think Sandra's going to be to pleased if it's not sorted soon as she likes the films on Sky that we don't get on the free view box. OH has just gone out again to give it another nudge. It's gone off completely now, better go and let him know.

Sorry to hear your OH is in a grumpy mood this morning Mel, best leave him to it until he feels better, it works for me when my OH is like that.

That's good news about your OH's tax Mandy, my OH got some tax back just before Christmas. You're right it does make a nice change.

Sky's back on, for but how long who knows.

I've just run a bath so I'm going to have a nice soak, then off to the shops and mum's. See you all later.

Just sat and watched Midsummer on catch up. What a great story line this one had.

I can't believe this sunshine, earlier it was raining and windy. The wind is still blowing but with bright sunshine, you can hardly look into the sky. It's so bright.

I have taken Apples to the neighbours, Ros popped into Carolyns yesterday to see that the plants were o.k. in the greenhouse and watered them. "Rasher" the odd job man had left a barrow full of apples, so madam bought loads round for me to distribute to alland sundry.

I will be showering and shaving tonight, to save time in the morning. We have to be at Nottingham for 11.30 am 1.35 pm flight. So will leave here about 10.00 ish to give ourselves plenty of time, it's only 56 miles and all Motorway.

Mandy lets hope the wind isn't against us, or we will be late lol lol

Easter eggs in January, what the devil next. I know you can buy hot x buns all year round. You willhave to let us know when you see Christmas decorations :-D :-D :-D They should be around by July. !!!

It's turned a lot colder this afternoon, I expect to see a frost tonight. BRRRR

COT time and a biscuit. ;-) ;-) ;-)

I just looked at the time and couldn't believe it was 4 already.
Frank I had a horrible feeling I had missed you.It should be a straight run for you to the airport .Touch wood no hold ups.Have a fantastic time and relax and enjoy the lovely sun on your skin.Bet you will come back with a nice healthy tan :-D..
Bon Voyage <3

Mel it soundsl like someone got out of the wrong side of the bed today :-S...Has he improved as the day has gone on?

WE have a clear sky here after a morning of rain.It isn't looking very breezy yet.Not sure if we due winds.

I am in the middle of making a Batter with Thyme and English Mustard for a Toad in the hole and a gravy made with Red Onion,Damson Jam,Beef Stock ,Balsamic Vinegar and a bit of cornflour. So I better get that finished and then I need to get James's presents downstairs .I just have one to wrap that came in the post this morning.
I'll BBL

I like a batter with horseradish and lemon rind in it with a toad. Perhaps a sprinkle of Rosemary too.

Suns just going down now and I have to go round to the chickens to give them their corn and then have a COT.

Oh was'nt in a mood just joking with me. He gives me some choice comments sometimes.

Jane

Jane Report 7 Jan 2016 17:22

Mel I might just put some lemon zest in now you have mentioned that. That should go nice with the Fresh Thyme in it.I have just used the last of our own red onions.

Mandy that was a nice surprise then not to have to pay any extra tax. That ia almost unheard of lol....Chris often used to get clobbered when he thought he was ok.So you have this extra and the windfall you had the other month :-D

Ann,Chris has booked our Eurostar tickets going down to Avignon.Unfortunately there were non of those cheap tickets for day we travel :-S.But with our Senior Rail Cards we have got a fairly decent deal.As it is quite a long journey we decided to go Standard Premier which is far more comfortable and we get a meal included and drinks :-D.
We just need to book rail tickets on TGV to go to Paris from Avignon.Return Euro Star from Paris to London booked too.So that is all sorted :-D.I see the police shot someone dead at Gare de Nord today :-S..It is not a very pleasant station, and I am always glad to get out of that one.No hanging about there.

I bought myself a lovely top in Asda this morning.Onlt thing is the sleeves are too long.I could do with you Gill and your sewing machine :-D.I will take it in to the Dry Cleaners to be shortened as it has elasticated cuffs and I wouldn't dream of attempting that job myself.I would muck it up completely.it will probably cost me the same as I paid for the top but will be worth it.

How are the girls Anne?.I keep thinking of that Stepfather behaving so badly. It just isn't right :-S

I better get the oven on now to warm up and then get the sausages in.I really hope the batter cooks well and doesn't stay soggy in the middle like it does sometimes.

Evening All,

HAPPY HOLS to you Frank. I hope you have a good time and nice relax and get plenty of wear out of your shorts!! :-D :-D Like you I often add a teaspoon of mint sauce to gravy with lamb.

That's a pity they didn't have tickets for the date you wanted Jane. We went on the TGV down to Annecy and boy it did seem fast on some stretches!!

I didn't realise Robby was still visiting you Mel. It's good he is still around.

Mandy fancy seeing easter eggs while you were buying Christmas sale bargains!! :-0 I bought a valentine card the other day and thought that was early! What is the picture on your puzzle? The one I did last year was of the Yorkshire Dales and had a lot of tree that was hard to do. That was good news about your hubby's tax wasn't it, especially following the nice windfall.

I hope you get Sky back ok soon Gill. We have trouble with the picture breaking up on recordings at times when it is windy.

I've had a busy day today. Popped in the village for some flowers for someone and to get some milk.......no skimmed milk left and the flowers were past their best! Went to the fav carvery and took my car. I warned OH I would get by a tractor and trailer so we weren't held up for miles but I don't think he was listening. I didn't even put my foot down but he clutched his tummy and I swear a leg went up in the air this time!! LOL. That'll teach him to listen to his wife!! ;-) After lunch I went to the car wash and saw the smiley Polish men who made quick work of it with 3 working on the car at once. Then we went to Warwick to see the film Brooklyn which was good.

OH rang the estate agent this morning and it seems it's all sorted on the buyer's side now. It's just getting the deeds registered our side that is holding things up. It's with it being an old property and never having been registered. OH is concerned about the house with the cold weather coming. We are going to find the boiler instructions and see if we can set it to come on for and hour or two in the evenings. We'll be glad when it's off our hands now.

Tomorrow I'm meeting up with my beading pals. The lady who's house we are going to usually bakes some lovely things so that will be nice. :-)

We watched Jericho Mel, and thought it was brilliant!!
We treated ourselves to a new TV for the sitting room today, also a speaker bar!! OH's deafness is getting a bit chronic and the bar really does boost the sound significantly. Our old TV was ok, but the picture on the new one is SO much better, and the sound of course!!!
Much colder tonight!

Safe journey Frank, hope you have a great time, thanks for the advice on the lamb.

So you've had Robby eating from your hands again Mel, that must be wonderful, Sandra and I are jealous ;-) ;-)

I might give that number a ring David, we got feedback off the viewing we had yesterday and she doesn't want to buy our place because the garden is to big.

I would of altered your top Jane if we lived closer to each other. I'm in the middle of doing my mum's cushion covers, I'm having to do them by hand though as all she wants is a piece of material she's found attaching to one side of each of the six covers. She got a bargain, the piece of material only cost her 50p but there's only enough to do the one side of the covers, so instead of me unpicking all six covers to replace one side it was easier to hand sew the material over the original material. I've done one already and it looks really good.

Mum rang me earlier and ask if I could change the tape on some curtains for her friend and she'll pay me, so that's my next job, although I will be using my sewing machine for that. I've made lined curtains from scratch before, years ago, so changing the tape isn't a problem, the only thing that's going to take the time is unpicking the old tape. Apparently the woman's hubby just pulls the curtains open from his chair, so the tape has pulled where the hooks go and no longer sits right on the track....Nice little earner for me though, so I'm not complaining :-D :-D ;-)

I thought our Sky system was working properly Ann but then it decided to play up again during the first Emmerdale, so when that finished before Eastenders started OH ran outside and nudged the dish again, so far it's been fine ever since. The wind has died down a bit now so hopefully Sky will stay on. It's such a nuisance having to nudge it all the time.

Easter eggs already Mandy, that's ridiculous, surely they won't be edible by Easter, I prefer fresh chocolate nearer the time.

I've recorded Jericho, so will watch that when I get some free time.

Off to bed now, see you all tomorrow or should I say later, I've just realised how late it is LOL

Morning all Evening Kim,

Almost ready for the off. Ros wants petrol, and John has ask us to get him £10.00 lottery tickets, I might join him, even though I haven't done it for years but £57.8 million would be nice. I might treat you all to a COT.lol

Take care, and behave,

See you soon.

Morning all

Pouring with rain again here, I really feel for everyone in all those floods

Not long to go now before you're in Tenerife Frank, no floods there, just lovely sun. Have a great time :-D :-D

At least there is no wind today so my Sky system is still on. OH is in work and Sandra's asleep, so I'm going to watch Jericho and carry on with my mum's cushion covers.

I'm watching the space track of the International Space Station on BBC1 at the moment, but the sound isn't very good. There are children asking Tim Peake questions and one of them was "What would happen to a helium balloon in space?" Apparently it wouldn't float, so that's something new I've learnt ;-)

What is everyone else up to today?

Morning all,

Nice sunny morn ing here and I slept in late. I had a devil of a job to get off to sleep last night and then oh woke and got up too. I must have dropped off then and then he woke me again when he came back to bed.

Gill you just can't get away from that hand sewing can you? That was a bargan at 50p to cover 6 cushions. what colour is the fabric?

Nothing planned for today except to fill all the bird feeders for the wildies. They are going through the peanuts like wildfire at the moment.

Well our Frankie Boy will be well on his way by now. I do hope he has a nice rest and can sleep ok over there.

Gillx Report 8 Jan 2016 11:32

The material is cream Mel, with a very light brown flower pattern on it, it's really nice. I must admit I'm a bit nervous of using the sewing machine with not using one for years, I'll have to try to remember how to use one all over again. There is a bit of material left over, so mum said I could have it, I'm going to have a practice on my machine with it as it's all the material I have spare to use. I'm just worried about the tension, so once I get used to that I should be ok.

Watching Jericho at the moment, it's really good. I'm about half way through. The adverts have finished now so I'd better get back to it.
