Cone on Jane, if you flushed out some metal during a biopsy that followed 4 surgical orthopedic ops would you enter it on computer?
I thought not

Morning all and evening Kim,
Dull and wet here today. Whats it like with you lot?
I had a good lie in this morning so nothing to tell you about has happened yet!
I did think of something whilst driving to Bideford on Tuesday though. You don't see drivers useing hand signals anymore. Remember when you had to stick your hand out the window to do them? even in the freezing weather sometimes? I think it is only cyclist who use them now but certainly not the going left one you would use in a car with its round and round motion. I can remember dad useing them.

Good Morning people Evening Kim,
SO the "HAT" has returned !! Yes I remember the "Teddy Bear" and the gnome going on their travels, it was BIG news for quite a time. You should take the hat to London Jane, and on your holidays, see how many miles it can travel ;-) ;-)
Just had a call from Jan in Devon, asking if we would like to go down for a few days. It will all depend on Ros, as she has so many things going on at the moment, with "LINUS" Drs appointments, and the Choir starts again this week.
I will be quite happy to stay at home, in my own surroundings, and no stairs to worry about.
This is not my HAPPY DAY it's 58 years today that I burried my DAD. I was awake at 4.45 this morning, and didn't get back to sleep, I can see our "Front room" floor covered in wreaths, and me stepping around them writting down who they were from, so as I could thank them later. My eldest brother Jim, wanted to known whay the B####y hell I was doing. I remember telling him in no uncertain terms to leave me alone. The second word was "OFF"
Ros is at "Stitchery do" today, so I have a nice quiet house, and my book to keep me company.
David, You should take every oppotunity to persue your case against the NHS for the damage done to your leg. When you see the trival payouts made to some people, you have a very strong case, TAKE IT TO THE TOP. !!!
I only have one DRAW that I am in charge off, it's the odds and sods draw in the kitchen. It has everything that " I MIGHT NEED" in it. tape, string, stanley knife (CLOSED) pliers, mole grips. No end of stuff that I bring in from the garage, and put it in "MY DRAW" for when I need it. I really should put it all back in the garage. One day I will !!!
Still no Gill, I hope she hasn't done a "MOONLIGHT FLIT" ;-) ;-) ;-) I bet she is having a couple of days rest.
Horrible dank sort of day here. Thick rain clouds, that makes everywhere so dark. I have been sitting in front of the window reading, I will need a light on now. !!!
I had toast and MY MATE this morning, it's now reapeating on me, and making me feel sick. NOT NICE.

Yes David I agree with Frank. You need to see a Solicitor who specialises in these sort of cases and pursue a claim for negligence. Just got back from Waitrose, so that's the shopping take care of for another week!

I agree too which I did tell you some time ago. Your stuck there with no kind of life for the pair of you. You've nothing to lose David and you could possibly gain. Just think of that.
Frank a week or so ago I was having My Mate on toast in the mornings and then suffered dreadfully with indigestion for a couple of days. I have now gone back to my cornflakes or nothing at all till lunch time.
Liz whats it like at yours today? Sounds like Frank has the same as us. :-(

Well Jeremy Hunt MP is the minister of health. Is that too high? My local MP speaks in parliament. She's nearer home. I'm sure I said on this thread that I had used a firm of solicitors last year and lost, because the records show the NHS acted as they should, and there's no record of metal being flushed out of my knee in a biopsy, and the IV drip was for a "urinary infection... 6 weeks (I think I would have noticed) and prior to every operation I SIGNED THE CONSENT FORMS.. the great cover everything, even warns you might die. :-0 :-| :-S
Sorry Jane, I should have been more gentle with you at 4am

Not too bad here Mel. Quite bright even a glimpse of sun and much warmer!! I'm taking Cas in a minute, while OH finishes off the log saga!! I remember hand signals Mel!! When I took my test I had to know how to do them properly!!! I remember those indicators that flipped out from the side of the car! Our first car (a gift from my mother) had these, and the first thing OH did was to fit it (a Renault) with winker lights!! I loved that car and was quite sad when it had to part exchanged for something bigger when our son was born. Well David, if you can't prove your case then I don't think an approach to the Minister would get you anywhere. You could talk to your MP, or appeal against the decision. I do think that you need to get all the equipment you can to help your mobility and safety. I think someone suggested a mobility scooter, this surely would be worth investigating? I can't understand why your walking frame and bathing equipment have been returned, when you clearly still need them. Can't you get them back?! I worked with elderly and infirm people for donkeys years, and there were/are lots of things you can obtain which make life a lot easier. There are specialist shops (on line) who are only too happy to help, as well as the charity organisations. All worth investigating.

Yes I member those little yellow arms that came out of the side of cars too Liz. I think you had to flip a switch type thing either way you wantedthem to come out for turning left or right.

Those are the ones Mel!! We didn't have them for very long, but they were in situ when I took my test!! Not a problem as I was used to them having learnt to drive on that car and passed first time without any trouble. Just come back from our walk and the sun is well out and nearly warm enough to sit out!!

David I agree with Liz and I think I asked you a while back who and why your equipment was returned as you definitely need it. It's no shame in asking for help but it has to come from you, Sorry if this all sounds a bit blunt but having been a carer I do think you should ask for these things back ASAP

Hear Hear Ann, David as a paid up member of the NHS you are entitled to everything to help with your mobility. When I had my stroke 12 years ago come March, a fried contacted "AGE CONCERN" who were out to see me very quickly. They arranged for varios pieces of equipment to be delivered to help both Ros and myself in our everyday activities. Getting around with a Walker, Raised a chair with blocks, to make it easier for me to get up. They even got me Council tax relief, and attendance allowance. So believe me they are there to HELP.
We have decided not to go to Devon this coming week. Ros has TWO Drs appointments next week, plus her "LINUS" trip to take back all the covers and collect more materials. Jan has her daughter Kerry going down the weekend of the 13th Feb. So it doesn't leave us much time. We may go down in March, when the weather will be more settled (WE HOPE) lol
It's been warmer today, I have been in a T shirt and joggers and I haven't needed any heating on. It should come on about 5.00 pm if it's cool enough.
I have had the shakes again this afternoon, couldn't keep a limb still. I have had some sweet things, and COT and it's eased off a bit now.
My driving test was in an old mini with hand signals only. The first car I had was a Ford Prefect 1947 with the indicator arms. I went to a scrap dealer and got some "WINKERS" and wired them up and fitted them to the front and back of the car. I thought it was the BEE'S KNEES !!!
Pork ribs, chips and corn on the cob tonight. So nice and easy. Must see about getting them in the over.
See you later.

Evening all
This is the first time I've had a chance to get online for a while.
Thanks Mandy for the seeds they arrived today. I've not read any post yet so will read them later.
OH is just finishing off the painting on the ceiling. I was up most of the night doing all the filling for him, so woke up late today. I've spent all afternoon cleaning all the dust away ready for the two viewings we have tomorrow and the one we have on Saturday. I'm so tired so think I'll have an early night tonight as the exterior insulation man is coming round at 10.30 in the morning, so a very busy day tomorrow.
Just watching my soaps then I'll catch up with the posts.
Hope everyone is okay

Gill you must be on your knees!!!!.I don't know how you do it. Hope the viewings go well tomorrow .I think it sounds like the 2 of you need a bit of a break from all the work now.
David I would have quite fancied Fish and Chips tonight. But dinner is done now and all cleared away. The plumber was here for 3 hours.Toilet back in place with the whole of the workings replaced. He had one heck of a job that's for sure.He said it was the most difficult toilet he has ever had to deal with.
So I still need to pack my little case for London.I might sneak in 'HAT' lol.I am so glad I am not getting the train until the afternoon.I feel quite stressed with all this toilet business. But at least it is done now and thank heavens I got the chap to have a look. British Gas will be here any time tomorrow from 8 to service the boiler etc.So I think it will be an early night for me(once I get Thomas in).I might just go and whistle for him now.

Evening All,
Yes, I had to learn hand signals for my driving test too. I remember it being quite tricky to wind the window down by hand and stick your arm out while keeping a hand on the steering wheel and changing down the gears when they all needed doing at the same time! The fold in indicators were lit up and would stick in the slot sometimes and need a helping hand!! lol. I used to drive my dad's Austin A35 van that had them when I first passed my test (first time :-)) and he soon had the little round indicators fitted on the corners. (or 'pertinkers' as my toddler brother called them). They were operated by a big switch on the dashboard that you turned left or right. The van had round foot pedals that would undo and fall off sometimes and remember starting up when you had to turn the key, pull out the choke and then pull on a seperate starter on the dashboard.
Goodness me not another leak Jane!! It sounds like a right todo with the toilet but at least it's done now. Soon all the piping in your house will be new!!! Still at least you have your car back now so fingers crossed it is ok now. :-) I hope you enjoy the show with Hannah.
We got the land registry docs to agree and sign today and we decided to go and deliver them back to the solicitor ourselves to save time. Another step closer!
We are using some new things in beading class tomorrow, things called Montees that are diamante studs things with holes to thread them like beads. Something a bit different. Afterwards we might go to see the new Dads Army film. I could do with a few chuckles. FIL is still improving.
