Those flip out indicators used to stick sometimes.I remember with Dads old Hillman Minx they would have to be pushed back in .Either that or they wouldn't come out lol
Glad FIL is improving Ann.I hope he won't be in hospital for too long now.
I like the sound of the Montees. That will be something different for you at class tomorrow.
There was no new piping needing sorting Ann.It was the innards in the toilet cistern.Plus he had to replace all the nuts and bolts as they all had to be cut out.(sawed out).I have just been up to the bathroom to take all the wet towels used that were sitting in the bath.I shook each one out and there was so much muck !!!.So the bath has just had a good clean ,plus the sink as everything was covered in dust and filth.Towels now in the washing machine. They are just old dog towels,so none that we will be using.I seem to have spent the day cleaning bathrooms.I did the ensuite earlier ,and now the bathroom .My poor hands feel all dry and rough.I wil slap a load of handcream on tonight.
Almost there with the house then :-D :-DJust think of the relief once you know the keys have been handed over to the new owners :-D

Did you enjoy your sausage Bake Mel?That sounded good.
No cooking for me tomorrow night :-D.Hannah has booked somewhere in Soho for 5.30 before we go to the Theatre .
We may even go for a drink somewhere afterwards.I love the energy and vibrancy of the place at night.Oh I wish I was still young!.I would be out there in the bars and clubs.Just wishing thinking now :-( :-(

I see it is now almost 10 so I need to get myself off to bed.Early start again (just in case the gas man comes at 8)

Ceiling's finished now, I did notice there is one very small bit that needs a little more filler but that can wait until after the viewings. It looks a lot better than before we started, which is the main thing and I'm only doing the bit of filler next week because it would bug me if I didn't.

Going to bed now. I'm so tired I can't keep my eyes open and have to be up early in the morning. I'll catch up with all the posts tomorrow but it will be later in the day. The last viewing is 3pm.

See you all tomorrow
Night Night

Ann thats good FIL is still improving and that the papers have gone backby hand to save time. Not long now and it should all be off your hands and you can relax without all that on your mind. Love to you both.

Sausage back was lovely. I did parsnips, new pots, mushrooms, beetroot, broc, carrots, long shallots, red onion, and white onion and garlic with pork and leek sausages. We usually have cumberland sausages but they were sold out of those this week.

Still no Gill? Hope all is well with them and they have caught up on some sleep.

Oh Frank
I hope you aren't going to wake with a stonking hangover later.I expect you will be snoring away at the moment.I think today when you are up and about you should get out in the garden or do something that will keep your mind occupied.I am sorry that you have been feeling so sad .It is sometimes difficult not to dwell on sad things,,but the trouble is it doesn't really do us any good.

I must get up and into the shower and wash my hair.Fingers crossed the gasman doesn't get here too soon.He should ring about half an hour before arriving.Chris will have to deal with him if I am indisposed

Frank, I am sorry you were feeling so down, things always seem worse in the early hours as Jane says hopefully you have now had a good sleep and are feeling more positive. This weather doesn't help if you are feeling down.

Gill, I have my fingers crossed for you that one of your todays viewers put in an offer on your home.

Jane I hope your new car doesn't have anymore niggles.

David, Have you done anything about getting your equipment back to help you, it should only take a phone call to set the wheels in motion.

I have been busy this morning changed the beds and put clean duvet covers, sheets and pillow cases on. and the used ones are in the machine then it will be the tumble dryer as it has been raining and it looks like more to come. Amy is just going for a walk before it rains again.

magpie Report 5 Feb 2016 10:21

Forgive me David, but I can't fathom out what you are you talking about?!! I would however reiterate what Anne says, the sooner you get the ball rolling to retrieve some of your mobility equipment, the better life would for both you and your wife. Have you had any more thoughts about a car or mobility scooter?
Hope you're feeling better Frank. Have you thought about having some counselling to help you over these bad patches? Might be worth talking to your GP about it.
Very gloomy here today weatherwise, so we won't be venturing far!! Cas's birthday tomorrow! OH has gone to the shop to buy her a card!!!! Silly old fool!!!!

David

David Report 5 Feb 2016 10:31

Sorry, my wife, the boss within these 4 walls sais that the man who fitted the kitchen is getting one from Peacocks and they have to order it in.

magpie Report 5 Feb 2016 10:47

Oh dear! So I presume that your wife isn't keen for your walking frame etc to be reinstated?! ditto the mobility scooter/car? That seems an awful pity, but there you go, I expect she has her reasons.
Still not sure what you mean about the kitchen, but I guess it doesn't matter!
OH is back with a card, some milk, and a kitkat each!! The card has a pheasant on it! I wonder why?!!!!!

Morning all, Evening Kim,

Sorry for my little outburst this morning. I have been feeling so low this passed week. Things will improve now this week is over.Being so young when I went through all this heartache with my dad is imprinted in my brain, As his main carer the other children had very little to do with him. When you get so close to a situation like I did, sleeping in the armchair night after night to be there when he wanted anything, and when in hospital sitting beside his bed for at least 7 hours a day.or night.

I must try to get some help, but it's only a week a year that I get like this.

I sat and read until 5.00 am. and went back to bed and slept till 9.30..

Just going for a shower, then I will go for a walk round the block to see if that helps.

Very overcast here again this morning. I think I need a "LIGHT BOX"

Morning all and evening Kim,

O dear Frank what have you done now? I hope you got to sleep and feel a bit better now.

Not a nice day here but we have had a little watery suns just now and its not rain at the moment.

Can't beleive its Friday again!! The weeks seem to be passing so quickly lately to me.

Can't think what to have for dinner tonight..... Shall have to go and dig down the freezer and if I don't come up with anything it will have to be "bread and pull it" as mum used to say.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 5 Feb 2016 12:06

I think we all need a light box Frank. I was only saying the other day that we will all be suffering from SAD.

Laughed at the card with a pheasant on it Liz. Very nice and I wonder if she will see what it is and retrieve it? ha ha xxx

Ruby sent a bridge building to me this morning. I have seen this before on the telly but it is wonderful how they make it and string it across. I am sure I would'nt like to work that high up my legs would just turn to jelly....... :-0 :-0 :-0

I was referring to a guy in the next street who fitted our kitchen and did some other work in here. He now has a monopoly on anything that needs doing here, in HIS own time :-| :-S

Safe journey Jane and Hat. Can't wait for a picture and to know what Chris says when you get home from Hannah's. He he he

I can see this developing into something quite big!!

Very miserable here and dank. Dos'nt make you feel like doing anything.

Frank

Frank Report 5 Feb 2016 16:24

Likewise here Mel,

We have had rain this afternoon, I have seen cars going down the close with wipers going. It was almost dark at 2.30 and now with this wind and thick cloud it looks horrible out there.

Ros has been out most of the day sorting out the new bed throw at Margaret's. She has a big table work top that can take the thing. Something didn't go right so they have left it for now. She came home and rang her nail lady, and has gone off there.

I have told her to call in at Tesco and get a couple of their Finest meals, as I don't feel like cooking today.

After my shower this morning I have sat reading my book "The Family" by Martina Cole. Ros picked it up in a Charity shop. Hard back for 30 P I have another one to follow, as I have nearly finished this in two days and last night. !!!

There was an old saying years ago "HAVE HAT WILL TRAVEL" so it looks like Chris's hat is on it's travels. We all should have it sent to us from Jane when we are going away, we could then see how far it travels this year.

Ros has put off going to Devon this weekend. We will go down in March when the weather should be better.

Back to my book,

BBL

Our weather here is deteriorating too Mel! and the forecast doesn't look good!!! Did you watch Jericho last night?! It was very good and ended on a cliff hanger!!! I don't know whether you've seen it or not, so I'll say no more!!!!!
We had hoped to go down to stay with our son this weekend, but we're expecting our little girl to come into season any day, so it's difficult to make an arrangement as they have two boy dogs!!!!! We will have her spayed asap, which will solve the problem!! We finally got a letter from the hospital this morning, and OH now has to have a blood test every three months instead of six which is a bit of a blow. He rang them at lunch time, to discuss the slightly worrying bump which seems to have materialised in the bed where the prostate used to be. The person we spoke to was very helpful and very nice; she is speaking to the surgeon on Monday to get his opinion and will get back to us. We've a feeling that we shall be visiting outpatients (again!) in the near future!! Still much better to be safe than sorry, and if it means more treatment then so be it! We've also got an appointment with OH's GP in two weeks(!!) to discuss this development. If it's not the doctor, it's the hospital, if it's not there it's the Dentist or the Hygienist!! Life's one big whirl!!!

Gillx

Gillx Report 5 Feb 2016 16:49

Sorry to hear you're feeling down Frank, hope you start feeling better soon.

So Jane and Hat are on their travels :-D :-D :-D I'm still laughing after Hat's trip with Chris, hope Hat enjoys London and of course Jane and Hannah ;-) ;-)

The viewings went okay today, I think the first man might be a builder as he was talking about loft conversions and how he's done a few in some of the properties he's lived in. He was trying to work out where he could put a stair case and decided on the small bedroom. I gave him a brochure and he said it would come in handy with there being a floor plan on it. The second couple I don't think were to keen. So all we can do now is wait for the feedback.

The appointment with the exterior insulation man was interesting, learnt a lot about it and when he quoted us a price it was a quarter of what we thought it would be, so that's good.

Going to sort out dinner now, I know it's a bit early but I haven't eaten properly lately and I'm really hungry.
